More than 300 issues have been reported on Down Detector today.

One X user shared a screenshot of their Vinted app with an error message saying “something went wrong”.

“Anyone know how to get past this problem on Vinted?” they asked.

Another user replied: “I think Vinted is down.”

A different social media user said: “is the vinted app down or smt because why was i able to upload pictures a second ago and now suddenly it won’t upload anything because it keeps giving me an error that my pics aren’t loading or whatever.”

Someone else wrote: “Why is vinted down and not letting me upload when it’s one of the easy tasks I can do?”

Most of the problems reported so far are with the app, although a small number of issues have also been recorded with the website.

The Sun has contacted Vinted for information.

Vinted is an online marketplace where users can buy and sell used clothing, shoes, accessories and other items.

It’s similar to Depop, Etsy and Facebook Marketplace.

Set up back in 2008, it has now become one of the most popular online marketplaces.

The platform has 105 million users across more than 20 countries, including 16 million users in the UK.

Vinted users reported similar problems back in September, when thousands of users said the app was down.

At the time, users said they were unable to buy and sell items.

The problem peaked with over 3,000 reports of issues.

Another issue was reported last May, when The Sun revealed that sellers were being warned they may face long delays to get cash due to a payment glitch.

The re-selling platform previously confirmed its payment provider had been suffering from a tech issue and it was working to rectify it.

The problem related to tech issues with Vinted’s third party payment service provider, Mangopay.

New Vinted rules to be aware of

IF you fancy clearing out your wardrobe and getting rid of your old stuff on Vinted, you’ll need to consider the new rules that recently came into play.

If people are selling personal items for less than they paid new (which is generally the case for second-hand sales), there is no impact on tax.

However, since January 1, digital platforms, including eBayAirbnbEtsyAmazon and Vinted, must share seller information with HMRC as part of a crackdown.

You’re unlikely to be affected if you only sell a handful of second-hand items online each year – generally, only business sellers trading for profit might need to pay tax.

A tax-free allowance of £1,000 has been in place since 2017 for business sellers trading for profit – the only time that an individual personal item might be taxable is if it sells for more than £6,000 and there is a profit from the sale.

However, firms now have to pass on your data to HMRC if you sell 30 or more items a year or earn over £1,700.

It is part of a wider tax crackdown to help ensure that those who boost their income via side hustles pay up what they owe.

While your data won’t be shared with HMRC if you earn between £1,000 and £1,700, you’ll still need to pay tax as normal.
