WHEN it comes to spring cleaning, the kitchen can be the most time-consuming room to tackle.
As well as floors, counters and cupboard doors, it is important not to neglect electrical appliances that will have also gathered dust and dirt.

Here are handy tips to help you blitz through it.
OVEN OVERHAUL: To get your oven shining again, Paul Bangs, from Wickes, says: “The oven should be off, completely cooled, with oven trays and shelves removed.”
Most racks and trays can go in the dishwasher.
If your oven doesn’t have a pyrolytic cleaning setting, which uses super-high temperatures to reduce food residue to ash, use an oven cleaning product.
Spray it into the oven and cover with damp kitchen roll to lock it in. Remove the kitchen roll, wipe down, and your oven will sparkle, says Paul.
For glass oven doors, use warm soapy water with a non-abrasive sponge.
DEGREASE DOORS: Give kitchen cupboard doors a deep clean.
Use a degreasing product to cut through dirty marks. Cif Kitchen Degreaser is £2, down from £3, with either a Tesco Clubcard or Nectar card at Sainsbury’s.
To save even more, make your own cleaners with vinegar, bicarbonate of soda and lemons.
You can combine 250ml water and 250ml vinegar in a spray bottle to make an all-purpose cleaner. Add a few drops of essential oil for fragrance.
CLEAN MACHINE: Dishwashers and fridges can become breeding grounds for bacteria and lingering odours.
Wipe the doors with hot soapy water and wash down fridge shelves and drawers.
Give dishwashers an extra clean with a product designed for the job.
Currently at Tesco, you can buy four selected cleaning products for the price of three.
