A SKINCARE expert has revealed the five snacks that could be making you look decades older – and it’s even worse if you eat them right before bed.
Leading dermatologist Dr Kate Jameson insists that the food we eat has more impact on our skin than expensive lotions and potions.

Experts have said that the things we eat can really affect our skin[/caption]
And we could be causing our skin to become wrinkly and saggy by munching down on specific foods.
The cosmetic doctor from Youth Lab AUS warned that eating high-glycemic foods could be speeding up your skin’s ageing process.
And it’s even worse if you decide to snack on them before heading up to bed.
The seemingly harmless habit of late-night snacking could even cause your skin to become inflamed, which affects its appearance.
Dr Jameson said that we should avoid eating crisps, biscuits, white chocolate, pizza and energy drinks before bed.
She explained: “Eating high glycemic foods like pizzas, crisps, or biscuits right before bed can cause a spike in insulin levels.
“This can result in inflammation, significantly impacting your skin’s health and appearance.
“Opting for healthier snacks can make a noticeable difference in maintaining your skin’s youthfulness and elasticity.”
If you do enjoy a late-night snack, or feel a little peckish before bedtime, then there are healthier options you could eat instead.
Dr Jameson suggests having a bowl of mixed berries, carrot sticks with hummus, some almonds, an apple with peanut butter or a small serving of cottage cheese.
This is because these foods work great to curb late-night cravings without compromising skin health.
She adds: “These nutritious snacks help stabilise your insulin levels and supply essential nutrients that support skin repair and regeneration throughout the night.
“Recent studies linking diet-induced inflammation to collagen breakdown and increased oxidative stress underscore the importance of choosing the right foods for evening snacks to combat skin ageing.”
It comes after one beauty enthusiast has revealed her ‘secret’ to maintaining a wrinkle-free face – and it doesn’t cost her a penny.
The woman, known as ‘aromatalks20’ on TikTok, has shared a video demonstrating her trick.
In the video, the beauty fan – who has a radiant, glowing complexion – films herself performing the technique.
She sucks in her cheeks while keeping her lips closed, then releases them.
She repeats this motion quickly, sucking in her cheeks and letting go in a rhythmic manner.
The woman captioned the video: “A 49-year-old looks 28. This is her secret. Wow.”
