And he recently shared a TikTok video explaining a fact he’d only just learned, but insisted it was going to be a game changer for his lunches.

“You can get bakery items in the Meal Deal!” he gasped.

“I’ll let that sink in now for a minute there.

“Bakery items – croissants, cheese twists, chocolate twists – the lot!”

After learning the secret, Nathan decided to test it out on his lunch, getting a chicken and chorizo pasta, a Lipton peach iced tea and a cheese twist.

“And I kept this in the Meal Deal!” he added.

“£3.40. I think.

“It’s cheap as chips and I’d rate this a solid 9 out of 10.”

“Tesco really be doing bits with the meal deals, I can’t lie,” Nathan wrote in the caption.

After sharing the video, one person took to the comments section to share another exciting fact – namely that you can get “ice creams in the small freezer” in the meal deal too.

“Unrealll, cheeky ice cream after a sandwich yes please,” the person wrote.

“Come again?” Nathan replied.

To which they answered: “Yeah like Magnums and stuff!”

“Oh my God,” he exclaimed.

“Don’t forget ice creams tooo,” another person commented.

With Nathan replying: “I NEVER KNEW THISSSSS!”

Insider tip from a Tesco employee

A Tesco employee has revealed a surprising secret about the self-scan trolleys.

According to the worker, random checks on customers using these trolleys are not entirely random.

The checks are actually triggered by a specific customer habit.

If you frequently pick up and put down items without scanning them, you’re more likely to be selected for a check.

This is due to the system detecting suspicious behaviour, which could indicate potential theft.

So, to avoid delays, it’s best to scan items immediately after placing them in your trolley.

“My boyfriend works in an express. How has he never told me this?” someone else raged.

“Yessss! Life changed when I found this out!” another wrote.

“Excuse me?! Soup and now bakery food?!!” someone else marvelled.

“It’s never ending!” Nathan gushed.

“So hot drink, pastry and a sandwich… £3.40/£3.60?” another commented.

“I’m sold!”

The meal deal news comes after it was revealed that shoppers need to exchange their Clubcard vouchers – which are valid for two years – before midnight on February 28 to avoid them expiring.

Customers can use the Clubcard vouchers, which were first issued in February 2023 and will expire at the end of this month, to lower the cost of their weekly shop.

Shoppers can also pay for fuel or pick up a new deal with Tesco Mobile.

Tesco Clubcard is a free loyalty program that allows members to earn points for money off shopping at Tesco.
