A MAN who shot dead a 16-year-old boy has been charged with murder.

Omar Prempeh, 32, has been charged with the murder of 16-year-old Lathaniel Burrell.

A **16-year-old boy** who was **shot dead in broad daylight** in **South London** has been **named as Nathaniel**, as police launch a **major manhunt** to find his killer. ....## **Murder Investigation Underway** ....Police were called to **Paradise Road, in the Studley Estate** between **Stockwell Underground Station and Clapham**, at around **2.30 PM on Tuesday, March 4**. ....Despite the efforts of paramedics, **Nathaniel was pronounced dead at the scene**. ....## **Forensic Teams Search London Underground Station** ....Authorities are carrying out extensive forensic investigations, with specialists seen **examining the handrails of an escalator** inside **Stockwell Underground Station at around 7.30 PM**. ....The **Metropolitan Police** confirmed that this **search was linked** to the murder probe, as officers work to **track the suspect’s movements**. ....## **Police Appeal for Information** ....Superintendent **Gabriel Cameron**, leading the investigation, said: ....> *“This is an enormously shocking incident which I imagine will cause huge distress to the local community. A man has been charged with Lathaniel Burrell’s murder

Lathaniel was shot dead in Stockwell, south London, on Tuesday, the Metropolitan Police said.

Officers quickly cordoned off Paradise Road after the shooting as forensics officers gathered evidence from the murder scene.

A heavy police presence continued around the area late into the night.

Forensics also scoured the escalators at Stockwell Station where they used torches to inspect handrails and steps.

Detective Chief Inspector Sarah Lee previously said: “This is a horrendous crime, which has shocked the local community and beyond.”

In a recent statement the Met added: “His family continue to be supported by specialist officers.”

The statement continued: “If you have any information which may help the investigation, please call 101 with the reference 4116/04MAR.

“You can also contact the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 if you want to remain anonymous.

“Prempeh will appear at Bromley Magistrates’ Court on Monday, 10 March.”
