But now, as viewers sink their teeth into the already very dramatic new series, Jacqui has made a shocking claim about the show.
The 29-year-old has said that she tried to pack her bags, but was “stopped by production.”
Jacqui claims this happened after a fiery final Commitment Ceremony saw the couple’s marriage reach breaking point.
She was left in tears as Ryan told the experts: “At times I’ve felt I haven’t had a partner, I’ve had a critic.”
But despite things falling apart between them, Jacqui wanted to stay until final vows, in a bid to ‘talk through their problems.’
Now, after the episode aired, Jacqui has posted to social media saying production ‘refused to let her leave.’
Standing in a colourful outfit, the MAFS contestant told fans: “I packed my bags that night and tried to leave, but was stopped by production.
“They refused to let me leave and said I had to stay as per the rules of the experiment.”
Jacqui continued: “They told me Ryan was feeling crushed and it was my chance to make him feel included and accepted as a human.
“So guess that was my final job. I didn’t see any future with him.
“I wanted to leave amicably as but no more. Tomorrow I take the date option to meet someone new!!!”
The Sun has contacted Channel 4 for comment.
The pair have struggled to see eye-to-eye ever since the wedding day, with Jacqui insinuating her long list of academic and personal achievements put her far above Ryan.
Then things got worse between them in a recent episode as they took part in an Intimacy Week challenge.
Clinical sexologist Alessandra Rampolla, who is one of the show experts and has more than 20 years experience, asked the newlyweds to “create for your partner your ultimate fantasy night.”
The show voiceover then explained how it was the brides who were “calling all the shots.”
A clip then panned to Jacqui – who suffered an awkward mishap on her wedding day when groom Ryan, 37, dropped her.
She was seen standing in front of her man in racy black lingerie, and, taken aback as to what to say, he uttered “mm mmmm.”
He then said: “Yummy,” before taking a huge swig of Prosecco.
The voiceover explained: “Jacqui and Ryan’s attempted intimacy takes a dramatic turn.”
In a piece to camera, the blonde bombshell bride said: “I think Ryan struggles with words on how to complement a woman.”
Then, direct to her spouse, she was seen challenging him on the bed.
Sh stripped to a flesh-coloured bra and thong set with cut-out panels and a red trim and asked him: “How hard is it to be like ‘hey, I made a mistake, you’re gorgeous?’”
Yet in a sign of huge issues to come, he dealt out a brutal reply and said: “Cause that would be a lie, that’s right.”
Ryan was then seen walking out as the clip wrapped.
MAFS AU continues on E4 and Channel 4 Streaming.
