Easter chocolate has been taking over supermarkets in the weeks leading up to the big day.

Lidl has taken one of the nation’s most loved Easter snacks and transformed it into a yummy baked good.

The chain has started selling Mini Egg brownies in store.

These brownies are topped with the colourful crushed eggs.

One slice is just 89p so these are a cost effective way to get into the Easter spirit.

Shoppers have shared their excitement for this fun new drop, in a Facebook post.

One person said: “We need to see if these are as good as just the regular ones!!”

Another fan said: “I’ve got to go to Lidl immediately.”

A third wrote: “These look amazing!”

Some lucky shoppers have been able to already get their hands on these chocolatey goods and shared stellar reviews.

A fan wrote: “Had 1 yesterday, best brownie EVER.”

One person complained about the size of the brownie.

They wrote: “They were nice but sooooo small!”

This Lidl brownie has not been the only item to go viral recently.

The supermarket launched a “cheap” version of the popular “Dubai chocolate”.

This sweet treat, which contains a green filling made from pistachio and a traditional Arab dessert called Knafeh, has taken TikTok by storm and is the subject of over 300,000 posts on the app.

Following this trend, Lidl’s TikTok Shop flogged a limited 6,000 run of the pasty-inspired snack.

The 122g J.D Gross chocolate bars went on sale at 9am on March 22 with a £3.99 price tag plus £1 postage.

By 10.24am they were completely sold out.
