Leicester vs Arsenal preview
Struggling Leicester City host Arsenal in Saturday’s Premier League lunchtime kick off.
And it’s fair to say that Ruud Van Nistelrooy’s side are in desperate need of a result to keep their survival hopes alive.
With 14 games of the campaign remaining, the Foxes are anchored in 18th position and two points adrift from safety following a run of eight defeats in their last nine league outings.
Leicester could climb out of the relegation zone should they clinch a shock win and Liverpool beat 17th-placed Wolves at Anfield on Sunday afternoon.
But it goes without saying that the odds are firmly stacked against them.
Arsenal arrive in the East Midlands in second position and still within touching distance of Liverpool, who dropped points against Everton midweek, after going 14 top-flight games unbeaten.
But they’ll need to bounce back following their elimination from the Carabao Cup and a worrying injury to forward Kai Havertz, which will rule him out of this weekend’s contest.
Still, the Gunners boast a fantastic record against Leicester having won each of their last six H2H meetings by an aggregate score of 16-5.
They have also won 21 of their last 25 Premier League matches against sides sitting in the relegation zone.
Only Southampton (54) have conceded more Premier League goals this season than Leicester City (53), who haven’t kept a clean sheet in any of their last 17 league matches.
And that’s bad news given Arsenal have the division’s third best away record, scoring the fifth-highest number of goals (22) on the road in the 2024-25 campaign.

Leandro Trossard looks to be Arsenal’s most likely scorer given the injuries in attacking areas.
The Belgian, 30, may be forced the spearhead the attack and he’s no stranger to that position given he’s played there 39 times in his career – netting eight times and providing 10 assists in 39 appearances.
