BECOMING A STAR
Ke Huy Quan, also known as Jonathan Ke Quan, was born in Saigon in 1971 in the midst of the Vietnam War.
In 1978, when he was aged just seven, his parents decided to flee, eventually settling in America.
Ke Huy was then plucked from obscurity at the age of 12 by director Steven Spielberg to star alongside Harrison Ford in 1984 film Indiana Jones And The Temple of Doom – and he became a child star overnight.
This led to him being cast in the ultimate 80s teen movie The Goonies, as the young inventor Data.
