Jet2 launches two new winter sun routes from regional UK airports… just days after Ryanair scraps flights


TWO affordable holiday destination in Morocco are getting new Jet2 flights this winter.

The affordable carrier will be launching flights from both Bournemouth and Leeds this November.

Jet2 flights from Leeds Bradford Airport will launch on October 3[/caption]

Launching on November 4, the seasonal Jet2 route from Bournemouth will run until March 24, 2026.

Fares for the weekly service between Bournemouth and Agadir start from £91 each way.

It’s comes after Ryanair scrapped its route between Bournemouth and Agadir last week, just 10 months after it launched.

And it’s not just residents in the south of England that are set to benefit from a brand-new route.

Jet2 is also launching new flights from Leeds Bradford Airport to Marrakesh.

Launching from October 3, the flights will run a twice-weekly service every Tuesday and Friday until April 28, 2026.

One-way fares start from £85.

Both destinations are an affordable option for Brits looking for some bargain winter sun.

Research from Savoo previously found Agadir to be one of the cheapest all-inclusive holiday destination for Brits, with breaks coming in at £490.

Home to a huge golden sand beach, the coastal city is popular with surfers because of its strong waves.


There’s also Souk El Had – the largest urban market in Morocco – with more than 6,000 stalls selling homeware, spices and food.

Tourists can also visit the nearby area of Taghazout, popular with surfers, or head south to the Souss-Massa National Park.

If heading to Marrakesh, there is the Aqua Fun Club ( the biggest waterpark in Marrakesh) with 17 swimming pools.

Or there is the Oasiria Waterpark has eight pools, a pirate lagoon, wave pools and a lazy river.

Markets in Morocco sell homeware, spices and food[/caption]

A visit to Jardin Majorelle, a stunning botanical garden, is a must, as well as Jemaa el-Fna is one of the main markets in the city.

This spot is known to be one of the best venues for shows, with everything from acrobats and magicians to traditional dancers, music, and cultural acts.

Jet2 boss, Steve Heapy, said: “We have experienced a phenomenal reaction since launching our Morocco programme, with customers and independent travel agents jumping at the chance to book our award-winning flights and holidays to both Agadir and Marrakech.

Jet2’s new London airport base

TOWARDS the end of last year, UK airline Jet2 announced the opening of its 13th UK airport base at London Luton Airport.

Opening this year, the new airport base will offer flights to 17 holiday destinations with 430,000 seats already on sale.

Flights will start on April 1, 2025, with the first services flying to Majorca on the same day.

In total, 36 weekly flights will operate from the London-based airport next summer.

Jet2 will fly to the Canary Islands, Balearic Islands, mainland SpainPortugal, and Turkey.

It will also run three exclusive routes to Girona, Madeira and Verona.

Weekly services will also operate to Greece and Italy – with a full list of destinations below.

Steve Heapy, Jet2 boss, said: “We are very excited to announce London Luton Airport as our 13th UK airport base today, further expanding our footprint and bringing our award-winning holidays and flights to even more customers.

“Customers and independent travel agents have been asking us to open at London Luton Airport for many years now, so we know how enormously popular this announcement will be.”

Meanwhile, Virgin Atlantic has also launched two new flights to exciting destinations departing from London Heathrow.

And Ryanair is set to launch five new routes from a UK airport just in time for summer holidays.
