Inbetweeners stars terrified Oasis’ Gallagher brothers will kick off over Comic Relief sketch

INBETWEENERS stars Joe Thomas and James Buckley are scared that Noel and Liam Gallagher will be raging over their Oasis skit for Comic Relief.

The comedy pair have dressed up as the rock brothers for the BBC charity night.

But they are now having second thoughts that the chart topping hardmen, who have reunited for a series of sell-out gigs this year, won’t see the funny side.

For starters, they admit their mock Manchester accents are awful.

And Joe has even confessed he is actually a fan of Oasis’ 1990s rivals Blur.

Fans will get to see the hilarious Oasis sketch on Comic Relief Night tomorrow which marks the charity’s 40th anniversary.

However Joe said: “So me and James Buckley did The Gallagher brothers for Comic Relief and it’s out on Friday. And I am worried about it because I think they are quite scary.

“I hope they don’t mind it. But honestly, I hope they don’t watch it and I hope that they’re out of the country and no one has told them about it.

“People will not think they are slagging us off because they are threatened by us, they will know it’s because they find us pathetic.

“I just honestly am trying not to think about it. I’m just hoping it might not go out.”

To add to their woes, it seems neither Joe nor James – who found fame playing schoolboys Simon and Jay in the Channel 4 comedy – managed to master The Gallaghers’ Mancunian accent.

Joe added: “James’ accent… he said we had to put a line in the sketch where he explains why his accent is not very good. And I was like ‘Can you not do this because it’s better than mine!’

“I haven’t got a line explaining why I am so bad. So basically he has stitched me up.”

And it seems Joe has more to be frightened about because he is actually a fan of Oasis’ Nineties chart rivals Blur.

He added: “I am worried because James is known to be an Oasis super fan so he is kind of covered and he kept saying that in the interviews because he is scared. He was like ‘I’m sorry Oasis’.

“And when I was on Fresh Meat, I got to meet Graham Coxon and I shouldn’t be saying this with Comic Relief on Friday but he is the guitarist from Blur and they were sort of more my band.”

Asked if he could see any positives in the sketch going out, he joked: “In a way being slagged off by Oasis is kind of like a badge of honour.”
