LIL NAS X is revamping his team after his storming success waned following his bumper first era.
I’ve learned he has sacked his manager Adam Leber and has now signed on to be represented by Crush Music ahead of the release of his second album.
Ever since his 2018 breakout single Old Town Road, everyone from Sir Elton John to Miley Cyrus has been lining up to work with the American rapper.
His debut album Montero won him an army of fans in 2021 and even saw him nominated for a Grammy.
But his latest run of singles failed to chart on the UK Top 40.
And with his second album — which he previously said would be called Dreamboy — set for release shortly, he is now managed by Crush Music, who also have Alanis Morissette, Green Day and Kesha on their books.
A source said: “When you have such a stratospheric first album, the pressure to maintain that and produce hits is immense.
“Lil Nas has been constantly in the studio but Columbia Records, the label he is signed to, have been underwhelmed with some of the music and keep asking for more. For everyone, the second album must be a success, so no chances are being taken.

The move comes just months after Bizarre told how rising star Chappell Roan had also sacked her manager — music industry ace Nick Bobetsky — ahead of her second album.
Lil Nas’s latest track Need Dat Boy failed to chart upon release in November and his previous song, Light Again, which came out a week earlier, also didn’t chart.
When Bizarre saw Lil Nas X on his debut UK tour in November 2022, we couldn’t get enough of him.
Hopefully with a new team on board, he can turn things around.
He is hilarious, talented and savvy, so it would be a real shame to not see and hear a lot more of the star in 2025.
