Percy Jackson fans are in for a treat as Disney+ has already given the green light for a third season – before the second has even hit screens!
The fantasy adventure, based on Rick Riordan’s best-selling books, has been a massive hit, and the next installment will bring The Titan’s Curse to life.
Rick has teased the arrival of fan-favourite characters, including the Hunters of Artemis and Nico di Angelo, promising more epic mythology action.
With the show’s young cast aging fast, Disney is wasting no time keeping the story rolling.
Season 2, based on The Sea of Monsters, drops this December, but filming wrapped months ago – setting up an action-packed future for the demigods.
Fans are in for a treat as the high-stakes drama, packed with twists, turns, and jaw-dropping moments, is set to return for even more thrilling adventures.
Rick said in a statement: “We’re so grateful to be continuing the story of Percy Jackson on Disney+.
“It’s a huge sign of commitment from Disney, and speaks volumes about the enthusiasm with which the fandom has embraced the TV show. Thank you, demigods worldwide!”
Ayo Davis, president, Disney Branded Television, said: “From the moment Percy Jackson and the Olympians debuted, it was clear this series had struck a chord with fans of all ages.
“With season two set to premiere this December, we’re thrilled to announce that Percy’s journey will continue with a third season.
“Huge thanks to our incredible cast and creative team, our partners at 20th Television, and our visionary and talented producers who continue to bring Rick Riordan’s world to life with such depth and imagination.”
The first season of Percy Jackson and the Olympians was a huge success as it was one of the top five most-watched original series across all of streaming the week that it launched.
In the upcoming second season of Percy Jackson and the Olympians, the young demigod returns only to find chaos waiting for him.
His bond with Annabeth is shifting, Grover has mysteriously vanished, and to top it off – he’s got a Cyclops for a brother!
