The 22-year-old was left in tears when she spotted the stalker just two points into her round of 32 match, with Raducanu’s former coach revealing they had followed her for 3,600 miles.

Raducanu pointed out the man, who had approached her in a public area the day before, before he was removed by security and arrested by Dubai Police as she burst into tears behind the umpire’s chair.

Charges were later dropped by Raducanu but the man has signed a restraining order stating he must stay away from the Kent player – and he is banned from future WTA tennis events.

The British women’s No.2 was back on the court this month at the Indian Wells Masters in California, United States, after insisting she did not want to take a break from competing.

World No.61 Raducanu had travelled to the WTA 1000 tournament with extra security detail in tow after it was also revealed she had been dealing with the her sickening stalker for three months.

However, she was dispatched 6-3, 6-2 by Japanese star Moyuka Uchijima in the first round.

She has since been on the receiving end of criticism after allegedly breaking Wimbledon’s strict all-white dress code during training ahead of last year’s tournament.

The sensational report from the Daily Mail claimed she wore a pink outfit instead when practicing on the grounds, leading to one anonymous member of the All England Club being left annoyed.

Raducanu has since taken the decision to deactivate her Instagram page.

She had boasted three million followers on the page.

It is unclear whether the decision was taken in light of her stalker ordeal or something else.

Weeks ago Raducanu had changed the bio on her Instagram page to say: “Ad astra per aspera.”

This is a Latin phrase that means “to the stars through hardships”.

The next event on the WTA is the Miami Open.

Raducanu pulled out of the 2024 tournament through injury, but is expected to take part in this year’s event.
