Instead of the Dubai chocolate, which has been labelled as ‘Prime hysteria’ all over again after it is being sold in Sainsbury’s for £10 a bar, bargain hunters are now eager to get their hands on the latest flavour of Aldi’s own version of Belmont Jaffa Cakes.

One foodie was left overjoyed after she tried the new Belmont Jaffa Cakes, and eagerly flocked to social media to rave about the cheap treats.

Posting on BARGAIN LOVERS Poundland, Home Bargains, B&M, Primark, The Range & More, a public Facebook group with 783,600 members, Linda Astina shared a snap of her latest purchase – the Cherry Bakewell Belmont Jaffa Cakes.

Alongside her post, Linda beamed: “Had enough of Dubai Chocolate, but gotta admit – they’re magical!

“Now, it’s time for Bakewell Jaffa Cakes – absolute 10/10!”

The mouth-watering treats appear to have white icing on the top with stripes of chocolate.

Meanwhile, the inside is filled with what looks to be cherry jelly.

And if you want to get your hands on the new Belmont Jaffa Cake flavour, fear not, you won’t have to break the bank.

They’re perfect for those looking to cut back on their grocery costs, as you can nab them for just 99p a pack from Aldi

And it’s not just Linda loving the new flavour, as numerous foodies eagerly flocked to the comments to praise the tasty treat.

One person said: “Love them.”

Another added: “These are 10 times better than normal Jaffa Cakes.

How to save money on chocolate

We all love a bit of chocolate from now and then, but you don't have to break the bank buying your favourite bar.

Consumer reporter Sam Walker reveals how to cut costs…

Go own brand – if you’re not too fussed about flavour and just want to supplant your chocolate cravings, you’ll save by going for the supermarket’s own brand bars.

Shop around – if you’ve spotted your favourite variety at the supermarket, make sure you check if it’s cheaper elsewhere.

Websites like Trolley.co.uk let you compare prices on products across all the major chains to see if you’re getting the best deal.

Look out for yellow stickers – supermarket staff put yellow, and sometimes orange and red, stickers on to products to show they’ve been reduced.

They usually do this if the product is coming to the end of its best-before date or the packaging is slightly damaged.

Buy bigger bars – most of the time, but not always, chocolate is cheaper per 100g the larger the bar.

So if you’ve got the appetite, and you were going to buy a hefty amount of chocolate anyway, you might as well go bigger.

“We love them in our house.”

A third commented: “These are so nice.”

Meanwhile, someone else penned: “I’m not embarrassed to admit the only time I bought these, they were all gone within 10 mins.”

To this, one foodie replied and claimed: “Don’t think mine lasted that long.”

At the same time, one user beamed: “Best Jaffa ever.”

Premier League announce major change to VAR to be introduced for last seven games of the season

PREM chiefs will finally roll out semi-automated offside technology for the final seven rounds of top flight games, starting on April 12.

Club bosses approved the introduction of the new system last summer, with a planned launch in the autumn.

Semi-automated offsides are coming into play later this month[/caption]

US-based Genius Sport devised the specialist cameras – up to 28 per match – which deploy the “mesh tracking” of 10,000 plus data points for each player.

But a series of issues and concerns about the accuracy of the system saw the launch date put back.

While it was used for the first time at seven of the eight FA Cup fifth round ties, an eight minute delay before Bournemouth defender Milos Kerkez’ “goal” against Wolves was eventually ruled out brought a cautious response from Prem leaders.

All clubs had been warned that even with SAOT there will still be some situations – such as the one at Bournemouth – where crosshairs and lines will have to be used rather than simply taking the computer call and illustrating it with virtual animation.

But last weekend’s quarter final games in the Cup passed off without any concerns.

And Premier League bosses confirmed the decision, arguing: “The technology maintains the integrity of the VAR process while enhancing the speed, efficiency, and consistency of offside decision-making.”

Prem chief football officer Tony Scholes is convinced that SAOT will speed up decision-making on offsides, cutting 30 seconds-plus off the time taken.

Ongoing technical developments backed by Fifa should also see the swift end of assistants keeping their flags down on “tight” offsides, with automatic signalling if a player has broken the defensive line by more than a few inches.

The first match to experience it will be Man City’s Etihad clash against Crystal Palace on April 12.

A full statement read: “The Premier League will introduce semi-automated offside technology on Saturday 12 April (Match Round 32). This follows non-live testing in the Premier League and live operation in the FA Cup this season.

“Semi-automated offside technology automates key elements of the offside decision-making process to support the video assistant referee (VAR).

“It provides more efficient placement of the virtual offside line, using optical player tracking, and generates virtual graphics to ensure an enhanced in-stadium and broadcast experience for fans.

“The technology maintains the integrity of the process while enhancing the speed, efficiency, and consistency of offside decision-making.

“The Premier League has worked in collaboration with PGMOL and sports data and technology company Genius Sports to develop the new semi-automated offside technology system.”

Best April Fool’s Day pranks from Arsenal fans losing their mind to Chris Kamara’s long-lost sister

NOBODY is safe from an April Fool’s Day prank when April 1 rolls around – and today has been no different.

Some of the biggest sporting names from around the world have been up to no good as they took their opportunity to tease their fans.

Some of sport’s biggest names have pulled off some hilarious April Fool’s Day pranks

Whether it be long-lost sisters, incredible injury returns or even a completely new career change – sports stars always find a way to get one over on their supporters.

Here SunSport breaks down some of the best April Fool’s pranks spotted online this year…

Kammy’s sister

Iconic sports broadcaster and retired star Chris Kamara took the time out of his day to trick his fans into thinking he had a long-lost sister.

Kamara, 67, shared a hilariously edited picture of himself made to look like he had long locks and a full face of makeup onto his X account.

He shared it alongside the caption: “Wow. Some incredible news. Just found out after all these years that I have sister!!!

“She is called April, first I’ve heard of it. Who do you think you are, coming to our screens very soon on ITV.”

Safe to say the whole thing was a just a cheeky prank from Kammy, and you can’t expect to see him or his badly-edited ‘sister’ on Who Do You Think You Are anytime soon.

Nice try, Kammy.

Fur real?

Speculation remains about whether Tyson Fury has actually hung up his gloves after he announced his latest of five retirement announcements in January.

But for a brief second today it looked like he was about to start a brand new career.

That’s because the former world heavyweight champ teased his fans with a post claiming that he was the new James Bond.

Alongside an AI picture of him dressed up in a tuxedo with a gun in hand, Fury posted on Instagram: “Shaken, Not Stirred @007.

“The Gypsy King is back and I have a license to thrill. Many years in the making and many notable agents and performances before me – BOND. TYSON BOND.”

Of course, many fans found this one hard to believe, but it certainly got a few laughs across the internet.

Leave the spying to the professionals.

Wood you believe it?

Tiger Woods‘ injury problems seem to be never-ending and surgery on a ruptured Achilles in March has ruled him out of all four majors this season.

But the golfing legend managed to put a lighthearted spin on his latest injury less than two weeks out from The Masters.

Woods claimed he had undergone a miracle recovery and would be able to tee up at Augusta next Thursday.

He wrote on X: “I can’t believe I am saying this, but a few weeks after rupturing my left Achilles, the sleeping in a hyperbaric chamber plus the explosive lifts my doctors and trainers have me ready to play the Masters next week!

“Can’t wait! See y’all on the course.”

Fans desperate to see one of the sporting greats return to golf‘s most prestigious competition were over the moon with the announcement, only to have their excitement ripped away by a follow-up post.

Just six minutes later, Woods added: “P.S. April Fools my Achilles is still a mess :)”.

Devastated fans labelled Woods’ prank as “the meanest thing that has ever been done on the internet”.

Maybe this one was a little too far, Tiger.

Gunner make you angry

Stat experts Opta are normally the go-to outlet for every fact and figure you could possible want in football.

But on April 1, they decided to swap the facts for fibs with a cheeky prank that left Arsenal fans fuming.

The stat gurus’ X account wrote: “62% – Arsenal have been given the benefit of the doubt and awarded the highest percentage of 50-50 decisions of any team in the Premier League this season. Evens.”

It’s safe to say Arsenal fans were less than impressed with the joke, having seen their team handed five red cards in the league this season – more than any other team.

One fumed: “How did you quantify a 50-50 decision ? That’s an opinion based argument.”

While another added: “These stats getting out or hand. PLS TELL ME WHO TF DECIDES WHAT A 50-50 is??”.

Opta also joked that Liverpool ace Darwin Nunez was too good with another immeasurable stat.

Posting: “14 – Darwin Nunez has missed more chances where he’s struck the ball too well than any other player in the top flight this season. Connection.”

Phil ‘The Tower’ Taylor

Darts fans have been eagerly awaiting a proposed matchup between Luke Littler and Phil Taylor since darts sponsor Target teased a face-off back in February.

And today they were finally treated to a hotly anticipated match… of JENGA.

All hopes of a master vs apprentice battle at the oche came tumbling down and instead it was a friendly game of Jenga.

Although, if you’re interested as to who is the better Jenga player – it turns out it’s 18-year-old Littler.

The match took three minutes and 40 seconds to decide, with Taylor, 54, eventually seeing the tower tumble as he tried to take out a block near the bottom.
