MILLWALL fans are calling on Jose Mourinho to keep his word after he jokingly suggested he would be keen to take over at the Den.

The Lions are looking for a new manager after Neil Harris quit for the second time, after doing the same thing back in 2019.

Harris will roll credits on his second stint, which lasted 10 months, after Saturday’s clash at Middlesbrough, which means he will also be in charge of Millwall on Wednesday against Sheffield United.

Mourinho suggested in October that he would love a return to English football after stints with Chelsea, Manchester United and Tottenham.

And the Special One named Millwall as a surprise club he would consider as they are are close to his London home.

The Fenerbahce boss said when asked if he’d manage teams fighting relegation: “Millwall. Millwall. I just cross the bridge from my house! Millwall.”

Millwall fans haven’t forgotten the ex-Real Madrid manager’s statement and took to social media urging him to take up this opportunity and follow through with what he said.

One fan tweeted: “Jose we await your arrival.”

Another commented: “Guess it’s time to see if Mourinho was serious after all.”

A third wrote: “Mourinho called it on. He’ll have to step up now or look silly.”

This fan said: “Jose Mourinho, a man can dream.”

And that one stated: “Jose Mourinho is taking over from Neil Harris at Millwall… You heard it here first.”

However, Mourinho admitted that his statement was just in good humour as he confirmed he is not interested in taking over clubs that are fighting relegation.

Millwall are currently 11th in the Championship table and quite safe from the drop, but did risk relegation last season.

Mourinho added: “I’m never going to a team fighting relegation. It’s too hard.

“It’s more difficult than playing for titles. It has to be very hard emotionally because it’s something that changes lives.

“I think it’s brave guys that do it. I had three clubs in England, four different periods and I love it.

“My family lives in London. London is home so one day I have to be back unless no one wants me.

“But don’t get me wrong, for the next two years no one will take me from Fenerbahce.”

THE Game Awards has entered its final round of voting for the Players’ Voice award, and it’s filled with controversy.

Gaming’s biggest award show, The Game Awards, will be streamed live on Thursday, December 12, 2024, and most of the awards are decided by a jury.

However, the one award that is decided by the public is the Players’ Voice category, and it’s now entering its final round of voting, and the top five games as voted for by players are pretty controversial.

Gamers were originally outraged by the announcement that DLC could be nominated in any TGA category before it was revealed that Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree earned a nomination for Game of the Year.

Despite the upset this caused, Shadow of the Erdtree has now made the top five in the player-voted category.

The other controversy surrounding the awards is the number of free-to-play gacha games that have made up the top five.

Three out of the five finalists are gacha games, namely Genshin Impact, Wuthering Waves, and Zenless Zone Zero.

People have speculated that these games have done so well because they often give away in-game currency when they win awards.

However, they also all have large player bases, and it makes sense that a lot of people would vote for them.

The final round of voting is open now and will close on Wednesday, December 11, 2024.

The winner after round three of the Players’ Voice award will be announced during The Game Awards.

You’ll only get one vote in this round, so make your decision wisely.

I think it’s likely that free in-game currency played a part in seeing three gacha games make the top five.

Personally, I don’t think ongoing games like Genshin Impact should be allowed in Players’ Voice, but it’s common practice at this point.

This is gamers’ main chance to show people the games they love, and we’d like to see some more variety in the finalists.

CINEWORLD has said it will shut another six of its cinemas following a major restructuring process.

The cinema chain revealed the fresh closure plans after formally completing a restructuring plan it launched in the summer to shore up its finances.

Cineworld stated that the plan’s outcome has enabled the brand to address “unsustainable operating costs”.

The cinema chain has successfully negotiated rent reductions at dozens of its 90 UK sites, resulting in significant savings and allowing the company to better shore up its finances.

However, landlords at six sites have decided to end their contracts with the chain.

As a result, Cineworld has been forced to close an additional six screens, located in :

• Castleford
• Leigh
• Middlesbrough
• Northampton
• Poole
• Weymouth

The Sun previously revealed that the Weymouth branch will close for the final time on Monday, December 30.

We’ve asked Cineworld to confirm when the other sites will close for good.

The latest closure announcement comes just weeks after Cineworld closed its screen in Shaw Ridge, Swindon.

In July, Cineworld revealed that its sites across Glasgow Parkhead, Bedford, Loughborough, Yate and Swindon Regent Circus would close in October.

What has happened at Cineworld?

The closures have formed part of a major restructuring plan to keep the company’s head above water.

In October, a judge gave the go-ahead for £16million to be injected into Cineworld’s four companies which form the business.

Cineworld has bolstered its financial position further by gaining access to additional funding, including £40 million in liquidity.

Alongside this, the company is set to invest up to £35 million in capital expenditures, focusing on the refurbishment and enhancement of existing cinemas.

Javier Sotomayor, president of Cineworld International said: “The successful completion of our restructuring plan, achieved with the crucial support of our landlords, protects thousands of jobs across the UK and provides us with the financial stability to continue investing in delivering extraordinary experiences for our valued customers.

“This milestone sets the stage for a brighter future, enabling Cineworld to continue sharing joy in communities across the UK for many years to come.”

This development follows a long period of trouble at Cineworld.

Just last year, the business emerged from Chapter 11 bankruptcy in the US.

Filing for a Chapter 11 bankruptcy means a company intends to reorganise its debts and assets while remaining in business.

The company’s shares plunged almost 99 per cent in the five years to 2023, as it was hit particularly hard by the pandemic and the enforced closure of its cinema sites.

Shortly after, Cineworld’s UK arm collapsed into administration on July 31.

The cinema chain was de-listed from the London Stock Exchange a day later.

When a company enters administration in the UK, all control is passed to an appointed administrator, who must be a licensed insolvency practitioner.

Many major cinema chains have struggled following the pandemic as customers got used to streaming films from home. 

Big blockbusters such as the Barbie Movie and Oppenheimer drove punters back to the movie theatre last year, but it has not been enough to keep some venues afloat. 

RAP Game contestants’ feud escalates in another heated clash during the show’s final episode.

With the series drawing to a close the competition is heating up yet it is a fiery clash between Morgan Da Savage and Only Zizou that is serving up all the drama.

With fresh new line-up, never seen before challenges and unexpected surprises, this season of The Rap Game UK has been one of the show’s most thrilling yet.

Drama ensued early on in the competition, during episode one when all seven contestants took to the stage to perform their bars for judges Krept, Konan and DJ Target.

The contestants then had to choose one fellow rapper to eliminate and while most of the artists impressed the judges and their fellow competitors it was Morgan Da Savage who fumbled her bars and was sent packing.

The female rapper also had her vote to cast and threw some serious shade at competitor Only Zizou claiming his performance was “low energy” and not her sort of rap.

The pair then went back and forth in an heated exchange with Morgan proceeding to say:  “I can’t lie, he’s dead. I’m pretty annoyed that some people are talking s**t as well. I don’t even know his name Zou-Zi, whatever the f**k his name is”

“I’ll f**k him up G, don’t worry about it.”

In the new clip the group can be seen watching the scene back on screen and the feud reignites with a contestant Amani Steez adding that he could feel the “tension right there”.

Rapper Morgan then said: ” From my point of view obviously I flopped, cool, but then I feel like you kept going.

“So then I’m just like, bro, why do you keep going and going? And when I said you’re dead, I meant you’re dead at rapping to me.”

Zizou hit back, saying: “You said, wait till after I’ll f**k him up.”

Morgan continued: “But obviously, just for you lot, I didn’t threaten to kill this guy on BBC.”

The pair were then urged to apologise to each other to which Morgan said: “I don’t want to say sorry, I don’t regret what I said.”

Zizou spat back: “Outside of this, no-one would chat to me like that, so why would I let her now?”

“But I did, and I’m not saying sorry for it, because you shouldn’t have been sneaky and said what you said,” the female rapper concluded.

“It’s all right, you’re not saying sorry, he’s not saying sorry your finished,” added fellow contestant Layyah.

Months on from filming it seems the pair are still not on the best of terms with their feud carrying on outside of the competition.

While both follow all the other contestants from the show on Instagram they do not follow each other the social media site.

JOHN HIGGINS has admitted he has been made to “eat humble pie” after admitting he had said “something terrible” about Brendan Rodgers.

Four-time snooker world champion Higgins is a boyhood Celtic fan.

But the club’s impressive displays in Europe and in the league have seen Higgins have a change of heart[/caption]

The Hoops are currently nine-points clear at the top of the Scottish Premiership and have performed admirably in the Champions League with two wins and two draws from five games in the league phase.

Their European campaign this season has included a stunning 5-1 win over Slovan Bratislava and 3-1 win over RB Leipzig, with Higgins saying the latter was “the best I have seen Celtic play nearly ever”.

Rodgers, 51, is well on his way to guiding the Glaswegian side to a second league title in a row since his return in June 2023.

However, Higgins has confessed that he was not among the crowd in favour of his return because of how he initially left to join Leicester in February 2019.

That decision came in the middle of when the club were trying to land an unprecedented 10th league title in a row, with Rangers ultimately managing to stop their rivals from achieving the goal.

But Celtic’s stellar displays since his return have seen Higgins, 49, have a change of heart over the Northern Irish tactician.

Speaking to the Let Me Be Frank Podcast, he said: “I have got to be honest, I didn’t want Rodgers back. It’s terrible to say it.

“Just with how he left and that ten in a row. And different things. But I have had to eat humble pie. The way he has got us back playing.”

Asked whether he was an upgrade on ex-boss Ange Postecoglou and about Rodgers return following his unceremonious exit the first time, Higgins said: “Of course. That’s the only reason.

“A lot of Celtic fans think if he would have stayed, we would have got the ten.

“I know [Steven] Gerrard was coming. He does have Rangers’ number big time, doesn’t he?”

A member of snooker’s Class of 92′ with Mark Williams and Ronnie O’Sullivan, Higgins won his opening match at the Scottish Open 4-2 over Ian Burns.

He will face Barry Hawkins in the next round tomorrow.
