I’m A Celeb finalist Richard Coles shares emotional post in tribute to partner five years after his tragic death
REVEREND Richard Coles posted an emotional tribute to his late husband five years after his tragic death.
The 62-year-old marked what would have been Rev David Coles’ 48th birthday on December 10.
Richard’s husband Reverend David Coles died in 2019[/caption] Richard shared this new picture of David on what would have been his birthday[/caption]The couple were together for 12 years before David’s death in 2019.
Fresh out of the I’m A Celebrity jungle, Richard returned to social media to share a new picture of David.
In it, his late husband has a face mask on and is standing in front of their four dogs.
Richard wrote in the post: “David’s birthday today. He would have been forty eight. RIP.”
Richard and his late partner Rev David Coles, a Church of England vicar, were in a a civil partnership.
David died from alcoholic liver disease aged 43.
Richard opened up about his loss on I’m A Celebrity during a heart to heart with his campmate Oti Mabuse.
He cried: “I miss him. I want him to walk in the door. I had a dream that he walked in the door and he was carrying a co-op bag.
“I said to him ‘I thought you were dead’ and he said, ‘oh no, I was just out shopping’.
“I said, ‘well it’s nice to see you’ and he said ‘I’m not stopping, I’ve met someone else’.”
“It’s a massive hole in my life. I’m living my life around that loss and I’ve met Dickie now and that’s great. We’re building a relationship together, but I just miss David.”
Writing about David -who died from alcoholism – in an extract from his book The Madness Of Grief: A Memoir Of Love And Loss, Richard, said: “It was really, really tough to see somebody you love destroy himself.
“It is like someone is drowning and you throw them a lifebelt but they are just not taking the lifebelt.
“And I did try everything I could think of to help him stop drinking, and in fairness to him he did try too, but it was too much for him.”
Aaron Ramsdale used to stay at home of Premier League cult hero but was ‘a lot quieter’
AARON RAMSDALE used to regularly enjoy sleepovers at the house of a legendary Bolton Premier League star.
And he used to be a “lot quieter” than he is these days out on the pitch.
Aaron Ramsdale now plies his trade for Southampton having left Arsenal[/caption] Jussi Jaaskelainen starred in the Premier League for many years[/caption]The five-time capped England stopper, 26, is currently doing his best to try and help Southampton climb off the bottom of the table.
He joined the Saints from Arsenal in the summer and has also appeared for both Bournemouth and Sheffield United in the top-flight.
However, he still has some way to go to surpass ex-Finland star Jussi Jaaskelainen’s tally of 436 Prem appearances.
The former Bolton and West Ham man’s own son Will, 26, is following in his father’s footsteps in goal at National League Woking.
And he and Ramsdale used to be inseparable as Jaaskelainen revealed at the launch of Ladbrokes’ “Gaffer of all Accas”.
He said: “Aaron and my son were close friends growing up, and they played together for a couple of years in Bolton’s academy, and because Aaron’s parents lived in the Midlands, quite often he would stay at my house.
“The boys were always playing football in the garden, and obviously I would get involved with them.
“It was great, they were wonderful times for me and my family.

“Both boys were really nice kids, and I know Aaron is a bit of a character now, but he was a lot quieter when he was younger.”
Jaaskelainen added: “You know, him and my son, Will, were both a little smaller than they perhaps should have been at their age, and I know the coaches at Bolton weren’t really happy about that, because they couldn’t kick the ball long enough.
“But you just need to be patient with that kind of thing, because when you see the talent they had, and then they start growing, all of a sudden, you’ve got some great players there.
“I have to say, at that time with Bolton, from a goalkeeping perspective, the coaches were very good, and it’s why the boys are where they are today.”
Jaaskelainen’s son Will has followed in his footsteps[/caption]Moment family screams after terrifying gas explosion blasts their door through with entire street evacuated
THE terrifying moment a door was blown open by a fireball during a huge gas explosion in East London has been captured on camera.
Residents living in the flat can be heard screaming after the deafening blast in Ilford on December 9.
The roof was blown off by the blast, leaving the residents’ belongings destroyed[/caption]In the Ring security footage the front door is flung open by the sheer power of the eruption.
The porch and hallway are filled with bright orange from the flames and one of the residents bravely goes to investigate.
It took 60 firefighters to battle the blaze across the street after the alarm at 4.09pm, and by then flames could still be seen rising as smoke billowed out.
The fire was under control by around 6.20pm after crews worked tirelessly at the terraced house in Ley Street.
The house has been cordoned off with photos showing the entire roof and top floor destroyed from the explosion.
In footage posted online, one pedestrian was seen running to avoid the spray of debris from shattered windows.
Pictures from the scene last night showed a bus stranded on the street while firefighters tackled the blaze.
A 32-metre ladder was used to fight the fire from above while a drone was deployed to give firefighters an aerial view of the house.
Two people were taken to hospital by London Ambulance Service.
Fire crews remained at the scene throughout the evening with the cause of the explosion under investigation.
Residents are continuing to be told to avoid the area with the road being closed while the incident is being investigated.
Station Commander Darren McTernan said at the time: “Firefighters worked hard to bring this fire under control. Crews will remain on scene throughout the evening.
“Ley Street remains closed between Eastern Avenue and Vicarage Road, impacting traffic in the surrounding area, so please continue to avoid the area if you can.
“One of the Brigade’s 32-metre turntable ladders was used at the scene as a water tower to help fight the fire from above.
“The Brigade’s drone team were also deployed to the incident, offering the Incident Commander an aerial view of the scene.”
A Met Police spokesperson said: “Police were called at 4.08pm on December 10 to reports of a fire at a residential property in Ley Street, Ilford.
“We have attended alongside the London Fire Brigade and London Ambulance Service.”
Zubair Aslam, 27, who lives two doors down told Metro: “I’m very thankful that we are ok. It was really scary.
“We had to evacuate but are back now. We are in shock. There were people living in he house as far as I know, thank goodness no one died.”
