THE Scottish Open is well underway as snooker fans descend on Edinburgh – and there has been some big exits already.
There will be a new champion crowned this year after Gary Wilson went crashing out in the first round, while world champ Kyren Wilson was knocked out after losing 4-2 to Stephen Maguire on Wednesday night.
However, Luca Brecel pulled off an incredible comeback to beat Ding Junhui.
And as for Ronnie O’Sullivan the snooker legend withdrew from the event just hours before he was due to play.

World’s scariest street of ‘suicide homes’ inches away from plunging onto razor rocks down 200ft cliff…which is ERODING
HANGING on the edge of a 200ft cliff is a row of flimsy houses that are just a few inches away from plunging onto razor rocks.
Dubbed “Suicide Homes“, these poorly built shacks are on the verge of dropping down – yet the locals who live inside refuse to move out.
These dwellings with colourful rooftops are built in Bolivia’s highland city of El Alto – and for a moment could distract viewers from the terrifying sight below.
They stand on the edge of the cliff which experts and city officials say is eroding.
And at the bottom lies a large chunk of rocky escarpment, making the structures even more dangerous.
The precarious homes often serve as workplaces for Aymara shamans, known as yatiris.
They use the space inside these tiny box-sized rooms to make offerings to the Pachamama, or Earth Mother.
But torrential rains have increasingly weakened the buildings’ foundations over the years.
Officials in the city have urged the shamans to vacate the homes immediately.
However, they are clinging on and refusing to move out because they think the Pachamama will protect them.
And so their lives continue to hang on a thread.
Gabriel Pari from the city’s mayoral office said: “The precipice in this valley is 90 degrees.
“That is precisely why we want them to leave this place, if they do not want to leave we are going to have to use force.”
Refusing to move out, one yatiri Manuel Mamani said: “We are not going to move from this place, because this is our daily workplace.
“But we are going to take care of the soil, especially the rainwater, we are going to channel it so that the water goes somewhere else.”
Nestled between the Andean mountains, El Alto offers a sheer landscape that attracts a lot of local visitors.
Local authorities even built cable cars to help people get around.
But the landscape is getting more treacherous as weather patterns become more extreme.
However, Gabriel Lopez Chiva, another yatiri, said he was confident that the Pachamama would protect him.
He added: “We can do an offering ceremony, we do it as a payment and in this way, the land will never move because Pachamama needs an offering.
“It is like giving food and this way this place will not move. On the contrary, it will stabilize.”
Ellie Goulding makes HUGE loss as she sells marital home following split from husband Caspar Jopling
ELLIE GOULDING has sold her £3.1million London home after splitting from husband Caspar Jopling.
But the Burn singer has made a sizeable loss on the three bedroom house, which is tucked away in Marylebone.
Insiders told me Ellie has sold the property for £2.55m – £625,000 less than she paid for it.
A source said: “The property market is a killer at the minute and Ellie just wanted to get rid.
“She has a decent portfolio of properties but she’s been readjusting following her break-up with Caspar earlier this year.”
At the start of this month I caught up with Ellie when she performed a sold-out show in Ischgl, Austria.
And as well as juggling her properties, she has been busy working on the follow-up to her last No1 album, Higher Than Heaven.
Ellie said: “I’ve had more time to actually get in the studio and spend the time and sit.
“Songs don’t come that easily to me, especially when they’re more of a personal piece.
“Sometimes the best songs come from just sitting around, drinking tea, talking.
“It’s been time-consuming, but it’s time that I’ve needed to take.”
She might have made a loss on the house but that’s still a decent chunk of cash she’s putting into her bank account, just in time for Christmas.
Selena’s Christmas sparkler
CONGRATULATIONS to Selena Gomez who got engaged… over a taco.
The singing superstar announced on Instagram that her songwriter boyfriend Benny Blanco had popped the question and she shared snaps of them having a picnic and, above, showing off her bling while getting a kiss from her fiance.
Alongside the photo, which showed they celebrated with a takeaway from fast food joint Taco Bell, she wrote: “Forever begins now.”
And her best pal Taylor Swift has already got dibs on her role in the ceremony. On the post, which has already been liked by 12million people, Tay commented: “Yes I will be the flower girl.”
The couple got together last year after working together on a single which was ironically called Single Soon.
Lily Collins also congratulated them, writing: “Ahhhhhhhh yes yes yes!! Best news ever. Couldn’t be more happy for you both.”
That is going to be one hell of a glitzy wedding.
Robbie is an Angel for Leigh
HE told me he’d managed to get a huge star to feature on his festive charity single Christmas Pigs.
And now Leigh Francis has confirmed that the big name is none other than Robbie Williams.
The Angels singer, below, features on the tune, which is out today, alongside stars including Paddy McGuinness and Liv Tyler.
Leigh told me: “Robbie got back straight away when I messaged him.
“It took him 20 minutes. And all he asked was about which way he wanted me to film the video. Everyone was so lovely.”
Every penny from Christmas Pigs will be donated to Children With Cancer UK – a charity close to Leigh’s heart.
He said: “I lost my dad to cancer when I was 21.
“You know, your parents won’t be around forever but I didn’t know our time together would be so short.
“My sister and my mum are still broke by it.
“When they have a drink there are always tears and I say to them, ‘They better be tears of joy.’”
One spin of Christmas Pigs will definitely put a smile on their faces.
A Wicked new year
WICKED has received a massive 11 nominations at the Critics Choice Awards.
Cynthia Erivo is up for Best Actress, while Ariana Grande has got a Best Supporting Actress nod.
The film is also in the running for Best Picture and Best Acting Ensemble, and Jon M Chu has a Best Director nod.
I think next year will be all about Wicked, starting with the Critics Choice bash on January 12. If you’ve yet to see it, it’s well worth a watch.
Sheeran is ready to pop
IT’S been 14 months since Ed Sheeran released his last record, Autumn Variations – which in our world feels like a lifetime.
But the wait for new music is almost over, with the singer teasing a huge new pop record.
Speaking about the album, which is due out next year, Ed, inset, said: “Subtract was obviously a completely different record that didn’t really call for big pop stuff.
“It feels like I’m getting back into big pop for the first time in a long time.
“It’s quite exciting.”
For now though, Ed is focused on his new Christmas single.
The track Under The Tree appears in Richard Custris’ animated Netflix film That Christmas.
In 2021, Ed teamed up with Sir Elton John for Xmas track Merry Christmas.
CHIC legend Nile Rodgers has a knack of finding talent.
And the next British star on his radar is Chelcee Grimes.
Chelcee said: “I’ve just confirmed a big record for a huge artist next year, and I have a song coming out soon with the legend Nile Rodgers.
“My desktop is bursting with tracks I’m excited to release.”

Married At First Sight star branded ‘deluded’ as she sells wedding dress from doomed marriage for HUGE sum on Facebook
MARRIED At First Sight star Amy Kenyon has been branded “deluded” as she tries to sells her wedding dress for a huge sum on Facebook.
Things weren’t meant to be for wedding planner Amy, who tied the knot with prison education manager Luke on the E4 show, but was immediately given the ick by her new husband.
The couple parted ways at the final vows with Amy brutally declaring their marriage “deceased”.
Despite the marriage ending in tatters, Amy is hoping it won’t all be bad news and is hoping cash in by selling her off-the-shoulder bridal gown that she wore on the show.
Amy has taken to social media platform Facebook the plunging lace corset gown for £1.5k – despite it being second hand.
She captioned it: “Monreal Bridal wedding dress with floral sleeves. Altered to fit a size 8 featuring corset bodice. RRP £2800. As seen on MAFS.”
But some fans have been left confused at the hefty price tag – which was altered for her.
One wrote: “The amount people think a second hand wedding dress is worth…. Altered to specifically fit another person and all…”
A second posted: “I think it is a beautiful dress, but are these people deluded to think they can sell it second hand, with personalised alterations, by just knocking off a couple of hundred quid? It retails new at £1,900. Hardly a discount.”
A third said: “I don’t know if I want to terrorise the wedding guests’ eyes with a ‘done.dead.deceased’ branded dress. That dress didn’t bring previous bride a happy marriage.”
“Don’t think anyone would want to pay that level of money to wear a dress from a very public failed relationship really,” a fourth said.
Another quipped: “I hope she doesn’t store it in her mum’s mouldy room,” in reference to the fallout she and Luke had during home stays, where he pointed out mould in her bedroom at her family home.
Things for Amy and Luke quickly went downhill after he told her a string of white lies.
Hoping to win her over at the show’s reunion, Luke sent her a turtle broach for a birthday gift following their exit.
He told the boys that if she attended the reunion wearing it there could be hope for them to rekindle things, but if she didn’t then it would appear to be game over.
Needless to say, Amy didn’t wear the jewellery and coolly dismissed the present, with some viewers branding her cruel and cold.
However, when she revealed just why she was so angry with him, opinion shifted.
He allegedly sent her a note accompanying the gift, with a very concerning final line.
Amy recalled the contents of the letter: “I’ve been thinking about you. I miss you. I miss waking up next to you.
“It said ‘I keep saying no regrets. I keep having one regret. When you were cooking I wish I got down on my knees and terrorised your b*****e.”
“After that he said ‘PS write to me. I’d like that.”
The comment shocked just about everyone, with the experts branding it “inappropriate”.
Relationship expert Charlene Douglas said: “If Luke wants to win back Amy, he hasn’t gone about it the right way. She’s made it very clear she doesn’t like that sexual language.”
Amy then said: “I feel like I’m looking like a d***head being mean, but I’m sick of it, and that’s why at the final vows I thought f**k this.”
Viewers voiced their opinions on X, with one writing: “Luke, bro, no. You can’t tell someone you regret not ‘terrorising their b*****e'”
Another said: “I’d have phoned the police.”
A third wrote: “Why are men like this swear to god?”
A fourth said: “the b*****e comment is diabolical behaviour WHAT.”
Later in the episode, Amy asked Luke why he felt the relationship failed, to which he said “he hurt her trust badly” and they “misunderstood each other”.
Amy then thanked him for “owning that”.

Who is KSI? Meet the Misfits boxing owner, influencer and musician
KSI is a YouTuber-turned-rapper who is one of the biggest streamers in the world.
The Misfits co-founder performed his selection of hits at Capital’s Jingle Bell Ball on December 8, 2024.
YouTube star
KSI was born on June 19, 1999 and is an English YouTube personality, boxer, rapper, comedian and actor.
His real name is Olajide William “JJ” Olatunji.
The YouTuber went to the independent Berkhamsted School alongside future Sideman member and YouTube collaborator Simon Minter, better known as Miniminter.
KSI — which stands for knowledge, strength, integrity — first arrived on the YouTube scene back in 2009, originally posting content about video games.
How does KSI make his money?

Since 2009, KSI’s channel has reached nearly six billion video views on his personal YouTube channel, with 24million subscribers.
When his combined channels are included, he has more than 41.5million subscribers and 10.55billion views.
He managed to earn an NME Award for Vlogger of the Year back in 2016.
As well as his YouTube career, KSI has released four EPs as a rapper, two of which have topped the UK R&B Albums Chart.
In 2015, he was ranked as the UK’s most influential YouTube creator, with his brother Deji, otherwise known by his handle Comedy Shorts Gamer, ranking second.
In 2016, he made his feature film debut in the comedy Laid in America alongside fellow YouTube star Casper Lee.
The Sidemen
KSI was a founding member of the online group The Sidemen, which is the product of seven British YouTubers, launching their own premium web TV series in 2018.
However, he was the centre of controversy in 2012 after a Eurogamer event due to supposed sexual harassment of attendees.
Microsoft cut ties with him and he was banned for life from the expo.
He addressed the controversy in his 2015 autobiography, entitled KSI: I Am A B*****d.

But since 2022 he has been more active in the fight game, fighting four times before his dust-up with Tommy Fury on October 14.
As well as all of this, KSI is a successful businessman — he’s the the CEO of Misfits Boxing, and co-owner of Prime Hydration, XIX Vodka and restaurant chain Sides.

Lamborghini
KSI splashed out some of his riches on a specialised £280k Lamborghini Aventador in 2014, that’s been dubbed his “pride and joy.”
The stunning Italian sports car was wrapped by celebrity customiser Yiannimize in an eye-catching purple hue.
He even released a track titled Lamborghini in March 2015, paying tribute to his beloved motor and making it the star of the video shoot.
But reports suggest he flogged the incredible vehicle at a loss two years after its music vid debut.
Porsches
KSI didn’t lose any sleep over it though — he still has his Porsche 718 Boxster to whizz around in, which he bought in April 2019.
The fancy motor, which carries a price tag starting at around £65k, boasts a drop-top roof and a top speed of 171mph.
And just to make sure everyone knows who is behind-the-wheel, KSI added a personalised licence plate which reads “K51 FLY”.

He also impressed his army of fans with his next swanky addition to his garage — a £60,000 Porsche Cayenne.
The YouTuber flaunted the bespoke car in a series of Snapchat stories, but hasn’t shared any snaps showing off the exterior.
The Cayenne is the more luxurious of Porsche’s SUVs and boasts a 3.0L Turbo V6 engine.
Rolls-Royce Wraith
KSI has also hinted that he has an even more exclusive motor stashed away — the luxurious Rolls-Royce Wraith.
The £250,000 car oozes opulence, as it should when it will set you back a whopping £250,000.
Although he hasn’t specifically announced that he purchased one, he’s been seen in LA countless times driving the Wraith.
KSI’s boxing record
The YouTuber made his boxing debut on August 25, 2018.
He had a high profile fight with Tommy Fury, Molly-Mae’s ex, where KSI was defeated in the sixth round.
KSI’s fight with Logan Paul was billed as the biggest “amateur” and “internet” fight in history, but ended in a majority draw.
When the pair rematched in 2019, KSI finally defeated his opponent.
KSI’s music career
KSI spent a couple of years focussing on his musical career, including releasing Really Love with Craig David and Digital Farm Animals in October 2020.
He has been creating rap music since 2011 and released his first studio album Dissimulation in 2020.
His second studio album All Over The Place debuted at number one on the UK charts.
Throughout his career, he has scored five hits in the UK Top Five and fourteen top 40 singles.
