London beginnings

Callum was born on February 15, 1990, in Hammersmith but grew up in Chelsea.

He was raised by his single mom, Rose, and would often spend his evenings playing football.

Talking about his childhood, Callum said: “The thing I always find interesting in my childhood was, yeah, I was growing up on an estate, single mum, working-class, but then I also had all these colourful characters around.

“It wasn’t about navigating two worlds.

“There were three, four, five more.”

However, Callum has said that, although his upbringing was “tough”, it was also “brilliant” and “beautiful”.

Callum’s big break

He launched his career in 2010, when he started modelling for high-street brands including Next and Reebok.

After a string of small parts, he finally landed a lead role in John Boorman’s film Queen and Country which debuted at Cannes in 2014.

He also starred in E4’s Gluye as Eli which led the British Academy of Film and Television Arts to name him as a Breakthrough Brit.

Most fans will recognise him as Eddie Redmayne’s on-screen brother Theseus Scamander in the Fantastic Beasts series.

Fantastic Beasts is a spin-off of the Harry Potter film franchise.

During this time, he dated Vanessa Kirby who rocketed to fame with her portrayal of a young Princess Margaret in Netflix’s The Crown.

Vanessa and Callum then broke up in 2019.

Superstar romance

Callum started dating pop superstar Dua Lipa in 2024.

On January 10, 2024, TMZ released a video of Callum slow dancing with the singer at the Masters of the Air premiere.

Just a week later, they went public with their relationship after being seen kissing outside a restaurant in Los Angeles.

A source told TMZ: “Dua and Callum spend almost all their time together and are nearly inseparable.

“They travel together, they’ve met each other’s families, and they’re very serious about one another.”

The sourced added that Dua is an “independent woman” and that she “couldn’t be happier than she is with Callum”.

Dua Lipa will be the star of An Evening with Dua Lipa on December 8, 2024.

Fans can catch the show, which will feature hits including Levitating and Houdini, live when it airs at 8pm.

A festive proposal

Dua took a break from her massive stadium tour to spend Christmas with Callum and family back in the UK.

After a whole year together, sources have told The Sun Callum proposed to the Houdini singer and “they couldn’t be happier”.

“Dua has had one of the best years of her career professionally and this is the cherry on the cake.

“Callum is such a solid support for Dua and they make such a wonderful couple. Their family and friends are so happy. It’s been an amazing Christmas for them.”

And the timing coudn’t be better, with The Sun last week revealing the pair were planning to host family and friends for a huge New Year’s Eve bash in London.

The 32-year-old mum of one, who is engaged to footballer Oliver Burke, took to X to tell everyone about her holiday experience.

She wrote: “What a special day. Christmas is so much better now with babies, but yes, I collapsed on the bed last night with exhaustion.”

But she added: “I wouldn’t have it any other way. Look at the spread my mum cooked! Wow. I hope everyone had a lovely Christmas.”

The former TOWIE star gave birth to her son Landon in October, and three months of motherhood have taken their toll on her.

The young family is now based in Germany, where Oliver plays for Werder Bremen.

However, they are back in the UK for Christmas, visiting family and friends, and Megan’s mum hosted.

In 2009, Megan and her band Harmony reached the semi-finals of the third series of Britain’s Got Talent.

Ten years later, she joined The X Factor Celebrity.

Many fans remember her rise to fame on The Only Way Is Essex, and she formerly dated Pete Wicks.

This led to an appearance on Ex On The Beach and, later, Celebrity Big Brother.

She has appeared on various TV programmes, including Celebrity MasterChef and Celebs Go Dating.

As a parent, she spends her days documenting her role.

Other posts on her Instagram feed show her parenting journey and her new life in Germany.

She is also an author and a singer. Her book Can You Make That Gluten Free and her Christmas song Family at Christmas were released in 2021.

Dame Deborah James’ fund donates £1million for cutting-edge X-ray scanner at cancer hospital

The state-of-the-art interventional radiology machine arrived at the Royal Marsden Hospital in West London for Christmas.

There to see it were Dame Debs’ mum Heather, dad Alistair and husband Sebastien Bowen.

Alistair said his daughter, who launched the Bowelbabe Fund weeks before her death at 40 in 2022, would be thrilled.

He told The Sun: “It was brilliant to see something so modern and cutting-edge in place, ready to help others.

“It’s concrete proof of what the Bowelbabe Fund can achieve.”

The machine uses imaging techniques — championed by Dame Debs — to diagnose and treat cancer in a minimally invasive way, often instead of surgery.

Heather said: “Deborah wanted to fund research to help find better ways of treating cancer, so this is a really fitting way in which her legacy will continue on.”

The mum of two’s fund has raised £16million-plus. This Christmas was the family’s third without her.

Alistair added: “We all miss her terribly but Deborah loved Christmas and she’d be devastated if we let our grief ruin this special time.”

Teenager sacked for wearing trainers to work wins almost £30,000

A TEENAGER sacked for wearing trainers to work has won almost £30,000.

Elizabeth Benassi sued her former employers for victimisation after she was “unfairly tackled” over the mistake.

The employment adviser, 18 at the time, alleged that she was treated like a child and said other staff who breached the dress code were not similarly sanctioned.

Ms Benassi was dismissed after three months with Maximus UK Service.

An employment tribunal in Croydon heard she was the youngest in the team in Plumstead, South East London, and even felt the need to ask if she could use the toilet.

Judge Eoin Fowell said it created a hostile working environment for her.

He added: “No allowance was made for the fact that she was new.

“It indicates a desire to find fault.”

He awarded £29,187 for victimisation but her claim for harassment owing to her age was dismissed.

She released a video of the family releasing a helium balloon over Christmas with the words, “Merry Christmas to Archie and Dad.”

The former Hear’Say singer described her old man as a “much-loved husband, dad, granddad, great grandad and friend to many.”

The Coronation Street actress has been devastated since losing him to prostate cancer.

Kym helped to make memories with her father before he died and spoke about his journey on Morning Live.

Kym filmed scenes with her terminally ill dad taking The Cavern Club in Liverpool, where he played on the same stage as The Beatles in the sixties.

Christmas is also a difficult time of year for Kym every year since the loss of her son Archie at 21 weeks following a premature birth in February 2009.

She shared Archie with her ex-husband Jamie Lomas.

Kym previously took to Instagram at the time and shared a post of candles and photos of Archie to mark Baby Loss Awareness Week.

She wrote: “Today we remember all of those babies who became angels far too soon, and all of the parents whose hearts remain broken. I am one of those parents.

“I am a mummy to an angel baby and I am forever grateful to have had him in my life no matter how short a time.

“Let’s stand together, lift the taboo and break the silence of babyloss. Sending love to all #babylossawarenessday.”

Kym played Michelle Connor in Coronation Street and won the British Soap Awards in 2017.

She channelled the grief of her son being stillborn into scenes for the soap.

She filmed a harrowing plot about the loss of her baby Ruari with Steve MacDonald (played by Simon Gregson).

Harry Maguire reveals Man Utd weakness that rivals are ‘targeting’ after dreadful 2-0 defeat to Wolves

HARRY MAGUIRE fears club are “targeting” Manchester United at set-pieces after a dreadful 2-0 defeat to Wolves.

United left Molineux with ten men and three points dropped after goals from Matheus Cunha and Hwang Hee-chan.

Harry Maguire in a post-match interview.
Harry Maguire fears club are ‘targeting’ Manchester United at set-pieces

Cunha’s 58 minute opener came direct from a corner – the second time United have conceded such a goal in eight days – and defender Maguire reckons it is becoming a weakness for his side.

He said: “To concede again, especially the first goal of the game, set-plays are so important in football matches.

“They decide games, a lot of the games when they’re tight and they’re 50/50.

“The first goal has been a set-play far too many times against us and it’s disappointing.”

United conceded two goals from set-pieces against Arsenal and Tottenham’s Son Heung-min even scored direct from a corner.

United have conceded ten goals from set-pieces this season – excluding penalties.

Asked how they fix their set-piece problems, Maguire said: “Work, work, work more on the training pitch.

“I think teams now are maybe targeting our areas of set-plays. The strange thing is, I don’t feel like we’re conceding many chances from them.

“They’ve had a few set-plays tonight and we’ve dealt with them really well and they’ve gone and scored from one.

“I think it’s hard work, keep the belief, things will change. I know that. We have players who can defend the box well.

“They will change, we’ve just got to stick together.”

United now host Newcastle next but do so without Bruno Fernandes following his sending off at Wolves as well as Manuel Ugarte, who is suspended after another yellow card.

And manager Ruben Amorim said: “Of course, when you lose, when we don’t win, it’s a step back.

“It was really hard with the sending off. The goal was similar against Tottenham. Then, we tried.

“Even with one less guy we tried to and I think we were near something but then Wolves scored the second one.

“Then, in the end, we tried everything and the transition was 2-0. For us, let’s continue. “

Man Utd ratings vs Wolves

By Ken Lawrence

WOLVES landed a shock Boxing Day knockout as Manchester United’s struggles continued.

The 2-0 defeat means Ruben Amorim has won just two of the seven Premier League games he has taken charge of.

United find themselves 14th in the table and today were not helped by Bruno Fernandes’ red card and Andre Onana letting one in direct from a corner.

Here is how SunSport rated the performances…

ANDRE ONANA: 4

He needed to make an agile save from Jorgen Strand Larsen in the first half, but badly misjudged the flight of Cunha’s corner for the opening goal – his claim that he was obstructed by Matt Doherty was rejected.

LENY YORO: 5

Recalled but booked after only four minutes for a foul on Cunha, so he was walking on eggshells and was tested by Wolves throughout. Subbed just after the hour mark.

HARRY MAGUIRE: 6

The England defender did his best to keep United in the game when they were under pressure for long periods – at least he helped to stem the tide until the dying seconds and had a header on target in stoppage time.

LISANDRO MARTINEZ: 6

Teamed up well with Maguire to stop Wolves from winning this more easily, he stood his ground and produced some important challenges in the latter stages before Wolves caught him on the break with the last action of the game.

NOUSSAIR MAZRAOUI: 5

Tenacious and determined, but was one of several players given a torrid time by the best player on the pitch – Cunha.

MANUEL UGARTE: 5

Dispossesed too easily at times, struggled against a lively Wolves attack and was eventually taken off as one of Amorim’s subs following Fernandes’ red card.

KOBBIE MAINOO: 5

Looked a threat early on, created some good openings, but he was booked after the break as United looked short on ideas. Faded and was subbed.

DIOGO DALOT: 6

Brought a tremendous save from Jose Sa in the first half in what was a rare bright spot for United – but he had no major influence on a poor team display.

AMAD DIALLO: 5

Lacked awareness of his team-mates sometimes and looked a shadow of the player who turned the Manchester derby around less than two weeks ago.

BRUNO FERNANDES: 3

Sent off early in the second half for a second yellow after a challenge on Nelson Semedo, but the captain had cut a frustrated figure before that.

RASMUS HOJLUND: 5

Became visibly annoyed at times at a lack of service from his team-mates, he had no joy up front and was subbed with 10 minutes left.
