A GUNMAN who fled to the UK after sparking terror with an AK-47 assault rifle has used a legal loophole to stay.

Isak Buna, 29, wounded a man with a ricocheted bullet after blasting a volley of shots into the air during a row.

Buna was convicted of threats to kill and possession of illegal weapons in his absence

He told his rival: “Bother me then you will learn who I am.

I am going to f*** up you and all your family.”

After the 2013 rampage in Zenisht, Albania, Buna was convicted of threats to kill and possession of illegal weapons in his absence.

He was sentenced to five years, four months’ jail but fled to London.

Cops in his homeland issued a wanted poster and the Met Police arrested him in January.

But Albanian authorities were blocked from extraditing him after his lawyers at Westminster magistrates’ court successfully argued it was now too late to prosecute.

A Home Office spokeswoman said: “The Home Office has worked with the Metropolitan Police National Extradition Unit on Mr Buna’s case.

“Due to the statute of limitations laws in Albania the extradition request was removed

The Home Office did not say if Buna was seeking asylum or had been granted leave to remain.

Two Manchester United stars share secret love of fishing after being spotted in angling shop dressed in training gear

MANCHESTER United stars Joshua Zirkzee and Noussair Mazraoui have struck up a reel friendship — by going fishing together.

The pair unexpectedly popped into an angling shop last week while still dressed in their training gear.

Dutch striker Zirkzee, 23, and Moroccan defender Mazraoui, 27, spent around an hour inside Trafford Tackle & Bait in Stretford, a couple of miles from Old Trafford.

Owner Jeff Smith said he initially did not know who they were, but they were spotted by kids buying sweets next door.

Jeff, 48, told The Sun: “They were great. They had tracksuits on but I don’t know United players so I thought they were from the academy.

“They asked me lots of questions about fishing around the area and what kind of tackle they should use.

“They were interested in buying rods and reels and got some live maggots as bait.”

The two Red Devils also happily posed for pictures to the delight of the schoolkids.

A mum said: “They were both lovely. Some of the children asked for pictures and they were really happy and friendly towards them.”

Mazraoui previously told how he fished to help him relax while at Bayern Munich.

Other rod-loving footballers include Manchester City ace Phil Foden, who bought a home with its own lake so he could teach his son Ronnie.

Former England goalkeeper David Seaman was told to “calm down” Paul Gascoigne by taking him fishing at Euro 96. Cristiano Ronaldo and David Beckham have also had a dangle.

Russell Brand charged by post in Florida as he tells cops he WILL return to UK to face rape & assault allegations

Brand is accused of rape, indecent assault and sexual assault against four women between 1999-2005[/caption]

The comic, 49, is accused of rape, indecent assault and sexual assault between 1999-2005.

The summons orders him to attend Westminster magistrates’ court in London on Friday, May 2.

Brand said yesterday: “I was a drug addict, a sex addict, and an imbecile. But what I never was, was a rapist.”

It’s understood Scotland Yard has been ready to charge him for some time but he has not been in the UK for a year.

He was interviewed several times by police following an investigation by the Times and Channel 4’s Dispatches in September 2023 revealed claims against him.

After talks with police, it is understood Brand’s lawyers have promised he will fly back for the court hearing.

He is charged with the rape of a woman in Bournemouth, Dorset, in 1999.

The other alleged offences are said to have taken place in Westminster.

He is accused of indecent assault there in 2001.

He is accused of the oral rape and sexual assault of a woman in 2004.

Finally, he is alleged to have sexually assaulted a woman between 2004 and 2005.

In his video posted on X yesterday Brand added: “I’ve never engaged in non-consensual activity.

“I pray that you can see that by looking in my eyes.”

He added: “I’m now going to have the opportunity to defend these charges in court and I’m incredibly grateful for that.”

Earlier, senior CPS lawyer Jaswant Narwal said: “We have today authorised the Metropolitan Police to charge Russell Brand with a number of sexual offences.

“We carefully reviewed the evidence after a police investigation into allegations made following the broadcast of a Channel 4 documentary in September 2023.

“He will appear at Westminster magistrates’ court for a first hearing on Friday May 2, 2025.”

The Met said its investigation remains open and anyone affected can speak with its officers.

Former Big Brother’s Big Mouth host and radio star Brand was married to singer Katy Perry from 2010-12.

He wed Laura Gallacher in 2017 and they have three children.

Now teetotal and a born-again Christian, Brand has reinvented himself in the US as a podcaster and conspiracy theorist.

He has become a favourite of the ultra right and is part of President Donald Trump’s Mar-a-Lago set.

On Wednesday, he attended a concert by Christian worship singer Brandon Lake in Charleston, South Carolina.

Just Stop Oil yobs who daubed Treasury with red paint dodge jail despite £100k taxpayer bill

JUST Stop Oil activists who cost the taxpayer £104,750 by daubing the Treasury with red paint have been spared jail.

A judge told them the protest while cops were occupied by the nearby Changing of the Guard ceremony was reckless.

But Judge Nicholas Rimmer also said they were the result of a heartfelt, conscientious conviction.

Handing suspended terms, he said: “I do accept that these actions were shocking rather than violent.

“I am cautiously optimistic.”

Alexia Hall, 39, Selma Heimedinger, 25, Edred Whittingham, 27, and Piers Clifford, 62, glued themselves to fire extinguishers they used to spray paint over the Westminster building.

It took cleaners three visits, each lasting five or six nights, to scrub off the paint.

Hall, Heimedinger and Whittingham were found guilty after trial in January but Clifford admitted criminal damage.

They got suspended terms of 15 to 18 months at Southwark crown court yesterday.

Each has to do 100 hours’ unpaid work and pay £500 compensation.

I visited English seaside town loved by Wills, Harry & Meghan Markle – it’s perfect for sunrise walks and pints by beach

POLZEATH on Cornwall’s North Coast might be a small village but it has a royally big reputation.

Well-known for its beautiful sandy beach and choppy waters that are great for surfing, the area is so stunning it attracts a celeb crowd during the summer months . . .  even members of the Royal Family.

Prince William and Harry are among the big names who have visited, first as young teenagers and then again as adults.

In fact, the pair apparently love Polzeath so much, Prince William visited during his stag do and, before they married, Prince Harry enjoyed a weekend there with Meghan.

So if it’s good enough for the royals, it’s surely good enough for me and my family.

I was visiting with my husband Paul and daughter Lexi from the nearby town of Bude over the course of a gloriously sunny weekend.

Aside from celeb-spotting, Polzeath has become a go-to destination for watersports lovers and nature enthusiasts who want to soak up the beautiful surroundings.

If you’re not keen on surfing then the windswept waters are great for bodyboarders, too — there are rental shops dotted along the shore offering up various watersports gear.

On top of that, there are tons of restaurants such as The Cracking Crab, dishing up deliciously fresh seafood, and some gorgeous shops selling everything from surf gear to seaside titbits.

The beach is one of the few dog-free shores in the area (from the middle of May until September 30), although pooches are most welcome on the nearby coastal paths winding along the cliff edges.

Just a short walk from the sea was our holiday home for the next few days, Drum Fish, a cool coastal three-bedroomed house with views to die for and plenty of attractions nearby.

The bedrooms, all situated on the ground floor, were nicely furnished with a surf-chic theme – think white walls, bleached wooden floors and quirky accessories.

The perfect weather meant we could spend long evenings on the glass balcony overlooking the Atlantic, watching the sun slowly dip beyond the horizon.

Another brilliant thing about being so close to the shores, aside from the cracking views, was being able to wander to the sands at sunrise. Lexi and I enjoyed the most peaceful early morning dips without a single other soul in sight.

Food trucks and bars

The kitchen in our holiday home was well-equipped with an electric hob, oven and fridge-freezer, so cooking up lunches and dinners was easy-peasy.

If you don’t want to cook, though, Polzeath is full of food trucks, bars and restaurants — but be warned, it’s not the cheapest place.

We visited one of the bars on the beach one evening and a pint of Guinness set us back an eye-watering £10.80.

Elsewhere at Beach Box, you can pick up a breakfast bagel crammed with smoked salmon and cream cheese for around £6.80.

And if you’re after a slap-up dinner showcasing local ingredients, then head to the Oystercatcher. The pub with rooms has a well-priced menu featuring coastal favourites such as dressed crab and West Country sirloin steak as well as a cracking chicken tikka masala.

And for dessert? Don’t miss a trip to Vanilla, an ice-cream shop overlooking the beach which sells every kind of flavour you could imagine from toffee apple to lemon swirl, as well as waffles piled high with scoops and whipped cream.

If you’re serious about refining your water skills, you can book in with George’s Surf School while you’re here, which will get you standing on your board in no time.

Or if, like me, you prefer to unwind in a spa, Saunas By The Sea, located on Baby Bay and accessible via the main beach at low tide, sells private sauna sessions (£18.50 for 50 minutes) or group bookings for ten people (£130 for 50 minutes, see saunasbythesea.co.uk).

The quirky shipping containers have been converted into wood-fired saunas, each with impressive views of the sleepy ocean.

Even if the weather doesn’t hold out, you’ll certainly warm up in here.

And with views like this, it’s not hard to see why the royals love Polzeath so much.

This slice of the Cornish coast really is fit for a prince.

GO: POLZEATH

STAYING THERE: A stay in Drum Fish apartment costs from £23pp per night, based on six people sharing. See latitude50.co.uk.
