The Sun exclusively revealed this week that the TV cook is being lined-up to replace Gregg Wallace as the new face of the long-running BBC primetime show alongside John Torode.

Matt, 51, trained at Leiths School of Food and Wine, set up by Bake Off judge Prue Leith, and has worked in a string of top restaurants, including Marco Pierre White at the Oak Room and Criterio.
Raised in Wales from the age of six months, Tebbutt still lives in Llantilio, Monmouthshire with his wife, Lisa, and two children, Henry and Jessie.
He previously told Wales Online the area was a “beautiful place to live”, with his home naturally boasting a suitably huge kitchen for cooking and entertaining.
Complete with a range cooker, wooden panelled cupboards and drawers, the kitchen looks out to a sprawling garden filled with potted plants, flowers and shrubbery.
With a pantry filled to the brim, the kitchen boasts two ovens, a giant fridge freezer, and an island for him to get to work on.
His wife Lisa has shared a picture enjoying the garden in the summer, sitting out on a patio with a glass of wine as she looks out to the greenery around her.
Their home also has a large garden table and benches which is perfect for alfresco dining during the summer months. An extension with full-length windows allow them to look out into the greenery which staying warm during the winter.
The house also has another entertainment area known as “The Big Shed”, which in fact is a fully-functioning bar and kitchen, with a central island for guests to surround when they come over.

Fairy lights adorn the windows to give the area a more homely glow during the evenings when they have people join them.
Tebbutt has long had a love of cooking and entertaining, even owning restaurants before focusing on his career.
He still curates menus for restaurants around the country, including Shpoons & Forx at the Hilton in Bournemouth. but is now mostly known for his TV appearances, with a blunt but friendly and talkative nature.
He was first seen on TV in Channel 4’s Food Unwrapped in 2012, and later took on the role of Saturday Kitchen host after filling in for former guestJames Martin.
A TV insider said: “Matt rose to the challenge of coming into Saturday Kitchen after it was previously hosted by another big name in the world of food, James Martin.
“He managed the feat of making it his own and almost making viewers forget who his predecessor was — now Beeb bosses, and the show producers Banijay, will be hoping he can work the same magic on MasterChef.
“But since MasterChef is such a huge show with a massive following, the Beeb are keen to have everything lined up ready.”

I’VE put on one of my most expensive outfits to meet Monty for the first time.
I’m head to toe in brands, and my shoes alone cost more than £100.

When I arrive at our agreed spot, our eyes nervously meet across the bar.
He’s a little shorter than I expected, but he immediately makes me laugh, and I think we’re going to get on just fine.
It sounds like I’m on a Hinge date, and that’s how it feels when we shyly make conversation for the first few minutes, but I’m actually testing out a new matchmaking app for fitness.
My branded outfit is in fact Adidas lycra, my spenny shoes are really my fanciest Nike trainers, and the bar we meet over is the one Monty is going to have me do chin-ups on for the next eight sessions in the gym.
Instead of helping you find love, SweatSearch pairs you with personal trainers in your area.
You can choose whether you have a preferred gender, and what kind of session you’re after – from cardio to strength, and yoga to boxing.
You then set your maximum price, when you want to meet and where, and the app does the rest.
I was looking for strength sessions to help me reach my goal of doing a chin-up in the London Bridge area.
SweatSearch connected me with Monty Simmons, a trainer with more than 12 years of experience, and I accepted.
Thankfully, we got on great – I’d say we were a perfect match – and we had eight sessions together over a two-month period.
But if we hadn’t, I could have easily put in another request to find someone who suited me a little better.
Here’s how Monty (@movewithmonty) got me from barely being able to hang from a bar to doing an unassisted chin-up.
THE BASICS
The first session was more of an introduction so Monty could assess how strong I was (hint: not very).
After a recurrent knee injury, my gym sessions had definitely taken a backseat and to be honest, I’ve always found the free weights area of a gym slightly terrifying.
However, it gave my PT a baseline and helped us put together a plan for the coming weeks.
THE EXERCISES
Because I was focused on being able to do a chin-up (for no good reason honestly, I just think it looks super cool), the exercises were to help me achieve that.
This meant a lot of overhead presses, push ups, chest presses, and bicep curls.
We also did a fair bit of abdominal work, as well as moves to strengthen the muscles around my dodgy knee – think single leg glute bridges and donkey kicks.
But dotted throughout all of this were chin-ups, chin-ups and more chin-ups.

I started standing on a big box, then a step with plates on top, then just the step, and finally a plate or two.
At 5ft 6in, the bar was too high for me to reach from the ground, but my arms were straight towards the end, I promise!
I also practised using a band (looped around the frame horizontally) in my own time so I could get more reps in.
It was hard work! But Monty kept me motivated and gave me a structured plan that I could follow on the days I wasn’t with him (about two extra sessions a week on my own).
THE LOGISTICS
We organised each of our sessions through the chat function on the SweatSearch app, which is free on iOS and Android.
These all took place at the same gym as it was most convenient for me, but I had the option to try out several others if I wanted.
Because I wasn’t locked into a strict gym schedule or contract, we could change the day and time to suit us both each week.
I could also cancel 24 hours in advance if something came up without being penalised.

THE RESULTS
After weeks of hard graft, I did it! I can now do a full, unassisted chin-up.
In fact, I managed five in my final session (with gaps, I’m not Lara Croft – yet).
There’s not much data on chin-ups specifically, but a survey by RunRepeat found that only 31 per cent of women could perform a full pull-up, whereas 80 per cent of men can do it.
That’s my next goal.
As well as the chin-ups, my muscle mass increased by 1.2kg and my fat mass dropped by 1.2kg, according to Boditrax assessments.
I also lowered my visceral fat levels and metabolic age. Another win!

And according to The Sun’s royal photographer Arthur Edwards, there is a reason Meghan is so keen to use the name.
He joined News.com.au royal editor Bronte Coy and host Matt Wilkinson to discuss the Duchess of Sussex’s rebrand on The Sun’s Royal Exclusive Show this week.
Speaking on the show, Edwards explains: “Without Sussex, without marrying Harry she’d probably still be in Suits or shows like that.
“She’s elevated to a very famous person now. She married into the royal family as Diana did, as Fergie did. She’s famous because of that.
“If she walked round London when she was in Suits no one would have recognised her. “
He adds: “If she wants to call herself Sussex, that is her married name, call her that but everyone will know her as Meghan Markle.”
Prior to the show coming out Meghan also opened up about her last name in her most candid interview yet with People magazine.
She claimed that the title and last name is now important to her despite rejecting being part of the working royal family and relocating with Prince Harry, Archie and Lilibet to Montecito in LA.
She said: “It’s our shared name as a family, and I guess I hadn’t recognised how meaningful that would be to me until we had children.
“I love that that is something that Archie, Lili, H and I all have together. It means a lot to me.”
The Sussex name, she adds, “is part of our love story”.
The name was given to the pair after their wedding in 2018 by the late Queen Elizabeth II.
But Royal expert Phil Dampier says he thinks Meghan’s comments are unlikely to be well received by the King.
Speaking to The Sun earlier this week, royal author Phil Dampier said: “I doubt King Charles would like Meghan making references to the importance of Sussex as her name but I’ve always felt he’s reluctant to start any process of stripping her and Harry of their titles.”
With Love, Meghan is the second Netflix collaboration for the Sussexes, who signed a lucrative multi-million pound deal with the streaming giant back in 2020.
Speaking on The Royal Show Bronte added: “There’s a lot riding on this series, I think a lot of people will have watched it, whether they hate Meghan or they love her – the hate watching part of it as well – there’s clearly interest, even though a lot of people have no admiration for her.

There will be eight 33 minute episodes featuring a host of Meg’s various Hollywood friends trying her simple, yet “elevated”, food.
A montage of various clips in the nearly two-minute video showed Meghan walking through vegetable patches and fields.
She was also filmed browsing florists, hand-selecting beautiful flowers for table arrangements, showing off her creative side.
The Duchess even tried her hand at beekeeping, fully suited up, as she collected honey.
In the exciting new trailer, Meghan shared: “I’ve always loved taking something pretty ordinary and elevating it.
“Surprising people with moments that let them know I was really thinking of them.
“I’m going to share some little tips and tricks. I see what colour I gravitate to, and everything goes from there. And how you incorporate these practices every day.

The trailer showcased many “candid” moments, from Meghan accidentally squeezing some lemon juice in her eye, to knocking freshly baked goodies off a plate.
Prince Harry featured at the end of the video, embracing his wife in a warm hug.
“But at the same time, that won’t carry through for a season two. The hate watching element would be season one.”
She added: “Harry and Meghan need to keep these deals going, they have a very expensive lifestyle, particularly with security and everything.
“I think it is in danger of being axed or significantly reduced.”
Not only this, but Arthur explained: “Eventually [Harry and Meghan] are going to run out of ideas and people are not going to be interested. People will lose interest.

DEAUVILLE in the Normandy region of France has been hailed as the cheaper version of the southern Riviera.
Found on the coast, Deauville has beautiful beaches with multi-coloured parasols, and a long boardwalk decked out with the names of famous film stars.

Earning itself the title of the ‘Parisian Riviera’, Deauville has a mile-long sandy beach with one visitors saying it was “one of the best beaches in France“.
On the beach are 450 coloured parasols with a parade of beach huts on the wooden promenade.
Called, Les Planches, the promenade dates back to 1923 and its where you’ll find beach cabins all named after Hollywood stars who have attended the Deauville American Film Festival.
There are also 22 beach-front shops and bars, a seawater Olympic swimming pool, riding school and tennis club all within walking distance.
Since 1975, Deauville has held a film festival devoted to American cinema.
Deauville has an incredible shopping scene, Place du Marché is a popular shopping street that has an open-air market which is open through July and August.
If you want to feel like a local, this is where you should go as where everyone in Deauville goes to shop, sit and have dinner.
There are lots of designer shops too from Louis Vuitton, Hermès. In fact, Coco Chanel opened her second boutique in Deauville in 1913.
Place de Morny is another popular spot with a fountain, cafes and restaurants.

Deauville is also home to two race courses. The older of Deauville’s two famous racecourses, Deauville-la-Touques was built in 1864 and still hosts races throughout the year.
Minutes away from the race course and you’ll see Villa Strassburger that was built for horse-racing enthusiast Baron Henri de Rothschild in 1907.
A striking Anglo-Norman, Villa Srassburger, looks like a home from a children’s movie, and it was declared a national historic monument in 1975.
You can go inside the house in the summer months, but only as part of a guided tour.

The town’s huge casino sits near the seafront has 300 slot machines as well as classic roulette and blackjack tables.
Inside, there’s also a cinema, theatre and a night club.
For clubbing, there’s the popular Le Point Bar that opens at 11pm and parties till dawn.
One of the top-rated hotels on TripAdvisor is the Villa Augeval Boutique Hôtel & Spa.
One visitor called it a “beautiful boutique hotel” with others liking it for the hotel pool and proximity to the shops and bars. Prices start from £61 per night.
You can get to Deauville on the train if you take the Eurostar to Paris – tickets from London to Deauville start from £87.13.
Then take a direct train from Paris Saint Lazare (10 minutes by Metro from Gare du Nord) to Trouville-Deauville which station takes just over two hours.

Heading to the Maldives for a lavish destination wedding, the couple jetted off on their own to say “I Do” with none of their loved ones in tow.
Ester, who is known for starring on Real Housewives of Cheshire, previously said that her family and friends were not invited to the ceremony.
During the week, Ester shared that she and Glynn were jetting out of the country for their wedding, sans their loved ones.
Sharing some snaps from their flight, Ester revealed on social media: “Here we go. We are ready for the ride for the rest of our life.”
She added: “We have decided not to invite any magazine deals, family or friends.
“We are planning to do a big party later on to celebrate our commitment for each other.
“Invitations soon. Watch out.”
She went on: “This time it’s just the 2 of us standing facing each other.
“Sand, sea and flowers.
“We did not want to get stressed about anything else, rather than small details which matter to us.”
Expressing her heartfelt gratitude for the support she has been showered with amid her nuptials, Ester went on: “You all have been behind me all the way.
“Thank you again for your love, support, understanding and kindness.”
And then just mere hours before tying the knot she admitted she felt “excited and nervous”.
“Tomorrow I get to marry the love of my life. My best friend, my twin flame. And I can’t wait. Nerves are good right?” she penned.
Following the wedding, Ester shared a glamorous snap of her rocking her wedding gown and revealed her new name.
“I have officially left Ester Dee and I have become Ester Keeling today,” she said.
“I cannot explain how I feel to have my soulmate now as a husband of mine. Looking forward giving all I have to us.”
