Athlete collapses and medics put blue screen around her in terrifying scenes at European Indoor Athletics
A DUTCH middle-distance runner appeared to be knocked out cold and was stretchered off on the final day of the European Athletics Indoor Championship.
Maureen Koster collided with Brit Hannah Nuttall with nine laps left of the women’s 3,000 metres final in Apeldroon.

Nuttall, 27, could hear the European rival scream as she fell to the ground and then hit her head on the blue track.
Officials ran over and dragged her into the in-field so that the race could continue.
A number of medics were quickly on the scene and held up a blue sheet as they tried to help.
Koster – who had the backing of the crowd during the race – was then placed on to a stretcher and taken to a medical facility at the Omnisport Arena.
About 20 minutes after the incident, the Netherlands team tweeted that she was “conscious and responsive” following the incident.
They said on X: “Good news. Maureen is conscious and responsive after her fall during the 3,000 metres.”
Melissa Courtney-Bryant thought she had won gold for Britain but was pipped down the closing metres by Irishwoman Sarah Healy, who prevailed in a time of 8:52.86.

England 47 Italy 24: Red Rose keep Six Nations hopes alive in chaotic second half with three tries in 13 minutes
ENGLAND turned on the second-half power to keep their Six Nations hopes alive.
Three tries in the space of 13 minutes at the start of the second period transformed the interval nerves into Allianz Stadium roars as Ben Earl scored the seventh in added time.

And while the Red Rose need to win in Wales and France to slip up against Scotland in Paris next week to steal the crown for the first time since 2020, they will travel to Cardiff with something on the line.
All smiles in the sunshine at the end but Steve Borthwick would have been an anxious man after a helter skelter first half in which Tom Willis, Tommy Freeman and Ollie Sleightholme’s scores were only enough for a four point advantage.
It was a different story after the restart, quickfire tries from Marcus Smith, Tom Curry and Sleightholme putting England clear, with Fin Smith immaculate off the tee.
In the end, it was comfortable. Yet the first half summed up England’s entire campaign – a mixture of the glorious and the comical.
On the plus side were the three tries they scored, starting in the fourth minute when quick ball saw Freeman rampaging down the right, carried on by Tom Curry, before Willis took Alex Mitchell’s pass to stretch out over the line.
But the counterpoint was the way Italy, despite so little possession, sliced through them twice themselves.
Their opener saw England strung out in the defensive line, leaving a gaping hole which was exploited by winger Monty Ioane’s kick, gathered by full-back Ange Capuozzo.
Back came England with a kick-inspired try of their own.

Elliot Daly – who moved to centre when Marcus Smith came on for the injured Ollie Lawrence after just nine minutes – spotted the space for Freeman to grasp and take advantage.
Yet Italy were level again as they ran a quick line out from deep in their own territory, Capuozzo slicing through the first line of white shirts before Exeter No8 Ross Vintcent powered past the remainder.
A poor score to concede, although back came England, sucking in the forwards before spreading wide, with Smith feeding Sleightholme.
The bonus point score followed soon after the restart, Smith finishing off the hard grunt from Curry before the Northampton fly-half continued his 100 per cent record.
And when starter Curry – now joined in the back row by his brother Ben – burrowed over from a yard, England were suddenly 18 points to the good within seven minutes of the half beginning.
Now the shackles were off, England in command.
Former skipper Jamie George was held just short of the line as he looked to mark his 100th cap in the grand manner, but slipped to Sleightholme, with Smith nailing his sixth.
Game over as a contest, although Menoncello scored a third for Italy.
Then, on the final play, Earl – on the field for the second time – took advantage of a loose ball, Smith finally missing.
For England, it is about more tries next week. And a little help from the Scots.

‘You could’ve just used clip-ins’ people brutally slam mum after she dyes her little girl’s hair BLUE
A MUM has come under fire after she dyed her young daughter’s hair blue.
Mother-of-two Taylor Wall explained that her little one had asked her for a ”Elsa”-inspired hair makeover – but instead of the iconic platinum blonde mane, Taylor decided to choose the colour blue.

The parent, from the US, revealed that she didn’t have any hesitations after her child’s request, as she wasn’t ”in school yet”.
The dye, which she purchased from the popular US retailer Sally, was also not as harsh as the regular products from the high street.
Taylor said in the now-viral video: ”Before y’all come for me, this is a plant-based hair dye, so it is not toxic for my little girl.”
As an extra precaution the mother also made sure to not accidentally apply the semi-permanent product onto the child’s scalp.
”I chose to go with purple and blue, and I was really hoping it would give her like a prism effect but I think the blue was way too royal.
”She did so good being still, I am so proud of her. She really wanted that Elsa hair,” the mum was praising her little blonde girl.
Unfortunately for Taylor and her daughter, the hair didn’t quite turn out as they had hoped for – but that didn’t stop trolls from slamming the mum.
A whopping 700 people of the 2million viewers flocked to comments, where many disagreed with Taylor’s decision to dye her child’s hair at such a young age.
One insisted that instead of resorting to the semi-permanent dye, she could’ve chosen other alternatives.
”U could’ve just used clip ins or tape pieces.”
Someone else, meanwhile, thought Taylor was letting the child grow up too quickly.
”Let kids be kids smh [shake my head], this is sad.”
”Just buy her some fun wigs,” another critic advised.
How can I fix dye damaged hair?
Have you taken the dye too far? There are some ways to fix this WITHOUT chopping the whole lot off.
- Give it a trim: we’re not saying you have to cut the whole lot off, but you should trim the worst offending split ends.
- Ditch the heat products: stop straightening/curling your hair immediately.
- Stop dying your hair: step away from the bleach, and starting using ammonia-free semi-permanent dyes for now.
- Switch to sulfate free: use kinder, sulfate-free shampoos and conditions to repair your damaged hair. And don’t shampoo more than twice a week if possible, because this strips damaged hair and makes it brittle.
- Treatment masks: use one of these hair treatment masks, listed below, to rejuvenate your locks.
- Sun protection: cover your damaged hair when sunbathing or swimming in a chlorinated pool, to prevent further damage.
- Eat your hair healthy: make sure you drink lots of water, eat Omega 3 fatty acids found in salmon, walnuts and flaxseeds, and green veg like spinach, kale, carrots and avocado. Some pre-natal supplements also promote hair growth.
”There’s these things called color hair clip in!! She’s too young for those chemicals in her scalp!! It’s not just hair it’s toxin in her scalp!!” a viewer slammed Taylor.
Luckily for the mum, who later hit back at the online keyboard warriors, there was also plenty of support.
Responding to one of the negative comments, the mother-of-two said: ”To be quite honest, I passed my state board and know all about the dangers.
”I made sure not to get in on her scalp as you can see in the video but that’s also why I went with a nontoxic semi.”
A viewer wrote: ”I’m sorry the fun police found your vid but, I love that you are allowing her express herself.”
Another went on: ”oh my people…it’s HAIR. it’s not ruined. it will wash out, fade whatever.
”My mum was a hairdresser and if we wanted something like this it happened!”

Danny Jones’ wife ‘gives him final warning’ after drunken kiss with Maura as ‘worried pals fear there’s more to come’
DANNY Jones’ wife has issued a “final warning” after a new clip of her husband and Maura Higgins at a hotel was revealed.
In new footage, the pair are seen gazing at each other at the five-star Nobu Hotel — which they visited soon after their 3am Brits smooch.

Yesterday The Sun revealed Maura, 34, and McFly star Danny, 38, stayed at a hotel until 6am sharing wine.
His wife Georgia Horsley is now said to be holding “crisis talks” again, with a source from Danny’s camp saying it’s time for the pop star to be “honest” and publicly address what happened in a bid to save his marriage.
“Everyone would understand why Danny and his wife have been quiet” they told the Mirror.
“They are likely working through various discussions from the first video that was released alone. With this second video, Danny needs to now speak out.”
They explained that single Maura is receiving most of the “backlash”, while married man Danny is getting away with his actions.
The source insisted it’s only right for the All About You hitmaker to “take some accountability” now before it gets worse.
“Who knows if another video will emerge, but being honest is now the only way that this has a chance of resolving itself,” they added.
Maura today broke her cover and revealed she’s jetting to Los Angeles for an “exciting shoot”.
Maura shared a snap from her business class seat on a British Airways flight leaving London Heathrow.
She had a what appeared to be a glass of white wine in front of her and headphones at the ready for the long haul flight.
It comes after we revealed she continued partying with Danny until 6am after their kiss at the Universal Brits after-party.
Only security guards appear to be nearby as they are seen chatting intimately, laughing and holding filled wine glasses.
They then disappeared into a darkened, curtained-off side room at the Nobu Hotel in central London.
Staff said the room was for use by guests only.
One security guard said: “You can only go through there if you are staying at the hotel.”
Earlier that night, at about 3am, Maura was heard shouting “Danny” as they stood on The Strand leaving a Universal Records party at 180 House where they were filmed kissing at 2.50am.
They travelled by car separately across London to a Sony party at Marylebone’s Nobu Hotel.
An onlooker said: “Danny and Maura seemed to be enjoying their night of partying and had no plans to call it a night.
“They were knocking back wine at the Nobu from 4am and seemed keen to carry on. They weren’t seen leaving before 6am.”
The pair met when they appeared together in ITV1’s I’m A Celebrity in November.
After the Brits last Saturday, reality star Maura changed out of a see-through black outfit into a white minidress and jacket, with no top underneath, before going to an after-party where she kissed Danny, 38.
