MANCHESTER UNITED welcome old rivals Arsenal to Old Trafford for a huge Premier League clash this afternoon.
The Red Devils are eyeing back-to-back wins in the Prem for the first time this season.
But they face a rampant Arsenal side fresh from a 7-1 win over PSV in the Champions League last time out.
The Gunners still have very faint hopes of winning the Prem title, but they will need an upturn in form and a drastic drop-off from leaders Liverpool.

A WOMAN has been branded ‘greedy’ after sharing how she flogs Tesco items for several times the price online.
Thrifting fan Emily took to TikTok to reveal how she makes extra cash on Vinted and eBay by flogging cut-price Tesco clothing she got on the cheap.
tiktok/@thriftingwithemOne Tesco shopper was slammed for her ‘greed’ after snapping up cut-price goodies to then sell them on Vinted for several times the price[/caption]
tiktok/@thriftingwithemFurious TikTok viewers advised the woman to ‘get a proper job’[/caption]
Some of the items the money-smart shopper got her hands on included a ”Swarovski dress” that was going for a fiver, as well as a strapless top in the trendy leopard print for £5.
The dress, Emily told social media users in the video, would ”sell well”, so she purchased three different sizes – which she’d then flog online for £20.
As well as selling the summery top for a tenner, the Vinted seller said she’d flog £7 gym leggings for £12.
Other items in her shopping haul included a a T-shirt style dress which cost her £10 – and would then be sold on the popular site for double the price.
Whilst snapping up the goods from the mega retailer, Emily also got her hands on Nivea gift sets for just £2.50, with the intention of making a £5 profit.
Another bargain find was a gift set that came with two shower gels and a beanie – which the packaging claimed was worth £20 alone.
”I’ll be able to sell them for at least £12,” Emily reckoned, after purchasing the box for £5.
”Some absolute bargains!” she wrote in the caption of the video, which has racked up over 13k views in just one day.
More than 100 people flocked to comments to slam the Vinted reseller, with one dubbing the money-making method ”pure greed”.
One wondered: ”Genuinely what is wrong with you?”
Someone else chimed in: ”I don’t think this is the point of Vinted. If you want to start a clothing store then get your own platform.”
A third wrote: ”how about you leave it there for people that can’t afford to buy it at full price. Get a proper job.”
Do you need to pay tax on items sold on Vinted?
QUICK facts on tax from the team at Vinted...
The only time that an item might be taxable is if it sells for more than £6,000 and there is profit (sells for more than you paid for it). Even then, you can use your capital gains tax-free allowance of £3,000 to offset it.
Generally, only business sellers trading for profit (buying goods with the purpose of selling for more than they paid for them) might need to pay tax. Business sellers who trade for profit can use a tax-free allowance of £1,000, which has been in place since 2017.
Others, meanwhile, thought Emily would have a hard time trying to get rid of the items on the site.
”Don’t see how you sell any of this, would never pay this much for second hand,” one shopper said.
”Girl nobody is buying that stripe dress for £20,” someone else agreed.
However, not everyone was criticising the Tesco bargain hunter, as one viewer said: ”Why are people hating on her? do you lot know the amount of stuff that end up in landfill because they don’t sell!
4 weeks agoLatest NewsComments Off on Our idyllic town is being torn apart by ‘devastating’ theme park closure – it’s a huge blow & only ‘tip of the iceberg’
RESIDENTS have labelled the sudden closure of an iconic adventure park as “the tip of the iceberg” for Welsh tourism.
Oakwood Theme Park in Pembrokeshire, west Wales, shut its doors for the final time on Tuesday this week.
AlamyOakwood Theme Park in Pembrokeshire, west Wales, closed for the final time on Tuesday[/caption]
AthenaLocal bar and restaurant owners Kevin and Debbie Hart have blamed a new tourist tax for being behind the theme park’s decision to close[/caption]
AlamyThe site first opened to the public in 1987[/caption]
The new levy, which could be introduced in Wales from 2027, would see visitors to the country paying a £1.25p per night tourism tax when they stay at hotels, B&Bs and self-catered accommodation.
A lower rate of 75p would be charged for hostels and campsites.
The Welsh government insists the money raised would help fund services in tourism hotspots, but critics say it will deter visitors.
And in the towns and villages around the now-closed Oakwood Theme Park this week, locals are convinced the imminent introduction of the new tax will also have been in the attractions’s thoughts when they made their decision.
Kevin Hart, who has been running a bar restaurant and caravan and camping site within walking distance of Oakwood for the past 18 years, is “dreading” the new tax.
Mr Hart, 66, runs the business – The Snooty Fox – with his wife, Debbie, and had been hoping to sell up and retire in a few years. Now he believes that dream is in tatters.
He said: “How am I going to be able to sell up and retire now when the Welsh and national governments are doing their level best to destroy what we’ve spent 18 years building up?
“I employ 10 people here and I’m already having to find extra money to pay for the rises in national insurance and minimum wage, not to mention inflation and energy costs going through the roof.
“And now the Welsh government expects people coming here to pay a tourism tax.
“It will tourism throughout the country.
“I’m certain the pending tourism tax was a factor in Oakwood’s decision to shut.
“The closure is going to hit my business very hard because most of the people staying here spend a day or two there.
“They specifically come to the Snooty Fox because it’s within walking distance of Oakwood.
“They can have an adventure there, then grab a decent meal here, have a drink and get a good night’s sleep.
“But I’m really worried we’ll lose a lot of custom now the place has closed for good.
“There’s plenty of other things to see and do around here, but there’s no denying Oakwood was a massive attraction for people stying with us.”
Mr Hart his “heart goes out” to all the Oakwood staff who now look set to lose their jobs.
“They’re all local people so that too will effect the economy round here,” he said.
“It’s all going to have an effect on us. Oakwood is such a loss to Pembrokeshire. I still can’t believe it’s gone.
“All we can do now is just keep plodding on and hope the Welsh government drops its ridiculous tourism tax idea.”
A ‘REAL BLOW TO THE LOCAL COMMUNITY AND OUR ECONOMY’
Another local, Jenny, 45, said the closure of Oakwood Theme Park was “the tip of the iceberg” for the Welsh tourism and hospitality sector.
She said: “Once this dreaded tourist tax comes in, I don’t think anyone in their right mind will want to come to Wales.
“It’s yet another tax, and at a time when everyone’s already feeling the squeeze caused by every other tax we pay, on top of inflation, soaring energy costs and, if you’re an employer, extra national insurance and another rise in the minimum wage.
“Oakwood going is the tip of the iceberg, I fear. In the years ahead, there’ll be nothing left here.”
And at a pub in nearby Narberth we find Keith, 67, who said: “Oakwood’s closure is real blow to the local community and our economy.
“But when this stupid tourist tax comes in too, there’ll be no need for any tourist attractions because no one will want to come here. It’s absolute madness – economic suicide, even.”
The proposed tourist levy will be charged per person, per night, and will also apply to children.
Welsh Conservatives criticised the proposals, saying ministers should be nurturing the tourism sector, “not hammering it with new taxes”.
The plans require a piece of legislation – which was published on Monday – to be passed by the Welsh Parliament.
If that happens, officials think April 2027 is the earliest date the tax could start.
Also, councils could charge more in future if they go through a consultation process and give 12 months’ notice.
Theme park closures in recent years
Leisure Island Fun Park – Canvey Island, Essex
Leisure Island Fun Park confirmed it would be shutting down after 20 years of operation in February, 2025.
It had undergone a refurbishment in 2021 and has not explained the reason behind its closure.
All of the rides and attractions have since been removed.
In a statement, it thanked the “3,000 staff members” who have worked there in the past two decades.
It added: “It’s so sad we have had to close the park but hopefully we have created loads of memories for the families that visited us.”
Its rides and rollercoasters were distributed to various other theme parks across the globe, leaving empty spaces where they once stood.
Since its closure, a number of Urban Explorers have ventured onto the site.
And now, ghostly new images have emerged showing the once bustling tourist hotspot looking derelict nearly a decade after it shut.
Wet n Wild– North Shields
Wet n Wild was shut in September 2018 due to maintenance issues, with its reopening date repeatedly being pushed back.
It had struggled perpetually with visitor numbers.
It was a popular waterpark for families in the north east, however owners Serco were forced to close it down permanently in 2020 after years of financial difficulty.
Not all councils are expected to introduce the visitor levy, but if they did, it would raise an estimated £33m a year.
Stays of more than 31 nights will not be taxed.
Neither will people forced into temporary accommodation or people in homeless hostels have to pay.
The policy was part of the co-operation deal signed between Labour and Plaid Cymru in 2021.
Conservatives have said it will risk jobs in the tourism industry, which employs 159,000 people – nearly 12% of Wales’ workforce.
The Wales Tourism Alliance said Oakwood’s Spain-based owners Aspro’s decision to shut the complex was “disappointing news for Wales tourism and jobs”.
The organisation added that a combination of Welsh Government and UK Government decisions “risk seriously damaging the Welsh tourism and hospitality industry which contributes £3.8bn to the Welsh economy annually”.

The decisions include increasing national insurance, council tax premiums, a 182-day minimum occupancy for holiday lets and proposals for the Welsh tourist tax.
This was echoed by Carmarthen West and South Pembrokeshire MS Samuel Kurtz, who said that these decisions added up to a “very nervous time”.
He added: “I’ve submitted a Topical Question in the Senedd to ask what support is being made available to staff, and I’ve already spoken to local businesses who are keen to employ those losing their jobs.”
Mr Kurtz added: “This is deeply sad news. Oakwood has held a special place in the hearts of many in Pembrokeshire and from further afield and many happy memories have been made there over the years.
Mid and South Pembrokeshire MP Henry Tufnell described the closure as ‘incredibly disappointing news for Pembrokeshire”.
He added: “My first thoughts are with the staff who have lost their jobs. This will be an extremely difficult time for them, and I urge Aspro Parks to provide as much support as possible.
“Oakwood has been an iconic part of Pembrokeshire’s visitor economy, drawing tourists, creating employment, and contributing to local businesses that have relied on its success.
“Its closure will undoubtedly be felt across the community, and we must now focus on what comes next for the site and the people affected.
“The last thing Pembrokeshire needs is a derelict site that is sat empty for years.”

THREE months after the death of “Catwoman” Jocelyne Wildenstein comes a dramatic twist in her story.
GettyJocelyne Wildenstein’s partner Lloyd Klein speaks exclusively to The Sun[/caption]

InstagramIn later years, Jocelyne was unrecognisable from photos of her young self[/caption]
On the day of Jocelyne’s funeral in January, Lloyd took a call telling him that he was the beneficiary of a life insurance policy Jocelyne had taken out.
“I got a phone call from Switzerland from the attorneys and they informed me I am the beneficiary of a life insurance policy,” he tells me.
“It’s over $100million dollars. My heart was beating. I was like, I’m not surprised. I sent her [Jocelyne] a big blessing.
“Jocelyne left me the most beautiful love gift ever that you can give and surprise your other half.
“She did it right, she’s a lady. Jocelyne was secretive, she was mysterious.”
How she managed to secure Lloyd’s $100million life insurance policy is certainly a mystery.
After he received the news, Lloyd’s lawyers advised him to employ bodyguards and an armed driver.
“My life has changed. I have one or two people walking behind me now,” he explains.
Lloyd, a fashion designer, has taken up residence in a luxury apartment in Paris.
The paperwork is done and dusted and he has access to the trust with his $100million, he says.
Instead of sorting out a mountain of debt and a pile of creditors’ letters, he is wondering, at his leisure, how to spend the $100million.
But there is more drama.
‘Missing £1.2bn’
In contrast to his $100million “gift”, Lloyd claims Jocelyne did not leave a single penny to her two children, Alec Jr and Diane, who are both in their forties.
Jocelyne had been estranged from her children for many years before she died and neither attended her funeral.
In 1999, Jocelyne received a reported $2.5billion settlement, plus $100million a year, following her divorce from art dealer Alec Wildenstein.
Lloyd claims the bitter estrangement from Alec Jr and Diane came about after they stopped making the payments.

“After the death of their father Alec [in 2008] it fell to the children to continue the payments but they did not do it,” he says.
He claims that before she died, Jocelyne was preparing to file a lawsuit against them for ten years of unpaid alimony for the extraordinary sum of $1.2billion.
“Jocelyne was done with the children in her last years,” he says. “She gave them everything.”
Fraudster family
In March last year, a court in France gave Alec Jr a two-year suspended sentence and fined him $40,800 for his part in a massive tax fraud that saw his uncle, Guy Wildenstein, jailed.
As well as being found guilty of fraud, Guy was found guilty of money laundering and sentenced to four years in prison, half of it suspended, the other half to be served under house arrest with an electronic bracelet.
But Lloyd says he is not concerned with Jocelyne’s children right now. Has he been tempted to splash out?
“Well,” he says, “I did buy myself a birthday present.”
Lloyd was 58 on 15 February.

Lloyd, Jocelyne's partner
“I bought myself a watch, a Rolex watch. It was, I don’t want to boast – $500,000,” he says.
Lloyd had it specially engraved with Jocelyne’s name and date of death – 31 December 2024.
“My birthday was a painful day. I wanted something very powerful next to me,” he says. “When I look at the time, I see Jocelyn.”
‘Always with me’
He says Jocelyne is “with him” all the time.
“Jocelyne is here, we communicate through the mind. There are signs,” he says.
“Her phone is still working and sometimes it will fall without reason from my night table. It helps to know she is here.
“We were together 22 years. Every night we slept in the same bed, we said goodnight and kissed and hugged.
“I have known grief, I have lost my parents, but I have known nothing like this.
“Silly things get me. I go to a supermarket and see something Jocelyne would have liked, and I get a knot in my stomach.
“I am living now in a beautiful apartment and everything has been set up as if she lives here.

“Her clothes are in my dressing room. When I open the closet I see her coats, her furs.”
Lloyd has had a gold and glass pendant specially made in which some of Jocelyne’s ashes have been placed. He says he wears it all the time.
“I feel she is next to me,” Lloyd adds.
Sudden death
On New Year’s Eve, Jocelyne and Lloyd were taking a nap in the suite of the Paris hotel where they had been living before getting ready to go out.
Lloyd woke up to find her dead in the bed beside him.
“It was very peaceful,” he says. “She looked beautiful. Her hair was done. One of her dresses, a made-to-measure couture gown by Alaia, had been delivered.
“We were going to dinner at Laurent to celebrate the New Year. They waited for us till midnight.
“Those last three months in Paris, Jocelyne wanted to go out every night and enjoy herself.

‘Extreme’ life
Lloyd says Jocelyne arranged the legacy because of their love of one another.
“Our love was real, our relationship was real,” he adds.
“Our sexual life was very intense and very good, our love, our understanding, our cultural level was high.
“We had fights like every couple but we love each other.”
He says the $100million was a surprise – an understatement, perhaps – but that Jocelyne was always surprising him.
“One day for my birthday, I wanted a specific gift. It was a very expensive watch.
“We were having the cake and she brings onto the table, the gift.
“It’s a beyond gorgeous watch that I wanted, a Rolex, but it was maybe too much. It was on my plate.”
And now he has two.

Swiss-born Jocelyne became famous for her repeated facial surgeries, although in her last interview, with me, she claimed never to have had plastic surgery.
As well as the plastic surgery extremes she went to, she was famous for the extremes in her finances.
“Jocelyne was extreme in everything she did,” says Lloyd. “There was so much more to her than ‘Catwoman’.
“She was a philanthropist, she supported animal welfare, art, culture, healthcare and education.
“She built up her Ol Jogi ranch in Kenya, with animal clinics and schools for African children. She didn’t talk about any of this.
“I want people to know how fabulous a woman she was.”

The Briton turned to shake his opponents hand after landing his final throw, but Wattimena quickly turned away, packing up his things and thanking the officials.
He then circled back to Bunting, shook his hand, and whispered something in his ear which could not be heard on the broadcast.
The 2014 World Champion appeared taken aback by the conversation, reacting alongside the crowd with a confused look on his face.
In his post-match interview, Bunting said he was not sure what he had done to upset Wattimena.
He said: “There was no malice in my game.
“You have known me for many years now and I am not that sort of player to play mind games on people.

“I have a lot of respect for Jermaine and I didn’t expect that at the end of the game.
