I won Come Dine With Me despite being drunk ‘all week’ – there was so much drama a co-star ended up with a bloody nose

COME Dine With Me 2025 winner Garry MacDonald has opened up about this season’s ‘fishgate’ – and how much contestants can really get away with drinking before the booze gets confiscated.

Garry, 35, took home the reality show cash prize after knocking his competitors’ socks off with an Ibiza Beach Club themed menu.

His vegan co-star Saoirse was the most impressed with his food, scoring his cauliflower steak a solid nine.

But the cheeky chap has admitted he has no idea how he whipped up her meal as he was two bottles of Prosecco deep when he did it.

In an exclusive interview with the Sun, Garry shared: “You know what’s funny, so many people have asked me for the menu for it and the recipe for the cauliflower steak. But I was two bottles of Prosecco in and I don’t even remember how to make it.

“I was just drinking prosecco and when the camera’s on me I’m just chucking all this stuff together, I don’t even know what I’m doing.

“I was banging all these ingredients on the cauliflower and I remember the producer asking ‘Are you quite finished?’, and I said ‘I’m gonna see what else I’ve got in my cupboard.’

“I just kind of created something with flavours that I have no idea – I would love to know myself how I made it, because so many people have asked me for the recipe and I can’t remember how to make it.”

When asked how much contestants are allowed to drink on set during Come Dine With Me, Garry admitted that although producers try to put a stop to the boozing, they don’t have much success.

“You can just drink whatever,” he laughed. “I gave [my guests] venoms on arrival.

“I kind of felt like we were drunk all week. [Producers] would kind of say that’s enough alcohol, but you’re in your own house. Like what exactly – you’re not going to kick me out of my own house.

“You can see even before the starter most nights, we’ve all had a good drink. You can tell by watching it back, at the interviews at the end of the night, you can see that I’m like, oh my God, I can’t even speak.”

Sadly, not even staying merry was enough to keep this year’s cast from falling out during filming.

Garry’s dinner party in particular went off the rails as two contestants started shouting at each other about a very serious subject – the right way to cook fish.

Fish van owner Bernadette and project manager Lauren had a rivalry throughout the entire series, as they kicked off the first day of filming with a heated debate about sea bass steaks.

Neither of them were able to drop the subject as the week went on, and by the time they got to Garry’s night, it was all out war.

According to the Glasgow-based dinner party host, the women ended up “screaming in each other’s faces”, at which point he decided to leave the room.

Garry opened up about the incident, saying: “See when all the drama kicked off, so my friend was DJing for me. She ended up running so late because she was waiting for over an hour because it had kicked off.

“She was saying that the atmosphere when she arrived was so intense. You could cut the atmosphere with a knife.

“She obviously tried to bring the mood with some music, but you could see the divide.”

He went on to explain that the whole fish fiasco ended with one star in tears and another getting a nosebleed, adding: “I was getting interviewed in my kitchen and when I came out, Lydia was upstairs and she had a nosebleed.

“You don’t see this [on the show], but I think it was the stress of everything. I don’t really know.

“A couple of them were upset so two were in the garden, two were upstairs. I came out and I was like, ‘What’s happening?’ I’ve come out and people are crying, there’s nosebleeds. I was like, ‘What is actually happening here?'”

Thankfully, despite all the drama, Garry managed to put on such a wonderful dinner party that he won the entire series.

He has dedicated this big success to his sister, who encouraged him to go on the show, and has since passed away.

He told the Sun: “Helen would send me these really sweet messages every single morning and then after each night of filming I would go to her house and tell her all the drama.

“She was just the biggest advocate for me. Having that made me who I was on the show.”

Dancing On Ice winner reveals real reason women rarely win the show as she wades into sexism row

DANCING On Ice champ Alex Murphy has waded into the ongoing sexism row and revealed why the majority of winners are men.

The professional skater, 37, insists that viewers are “smart” and appreciate it is difficult for male celebrities to lift their pros on the ice.

Michaela Strachan, Sam Aston and Anton Ferdinand will go head-to-head in the DOI final this weekend[/caption]

Alex believes this is why fans are more likely to lift up the phone and vote for the male stars.

But she is keen to stress that this doesn’t mean Dancing On Ice is more difficult for male celebs than females.

Alex’s comments come after fans raged about this year’s female contestants being consistently marked lower than the men.

This weekend Dancing On Ice’s 2025 champion will be crowned, with one female in the running.

Michaela Strachan is up against Sam Aston and Anton Ferdinand.

Speaking to The Sun, Alex – who has won DOI twice – has insisted that the ITV1 show isn’t sexist.

Alex exclusively told us: “Oh, I don’t think it’s sexist. If I’m honest, I think it’s just so simple.

“I think the audience is smart, and the audience knows that it is extremely hard for a man to lift a professional ice skater and learn how to skate.

“I think then they look at it and go, ‘But the female doesn’t have to. The female celebrity doesn’t have to learn to lift. So the men have to learn two different disciplines’.

“And I think they go, ‘Wow! That must be so much harder for them’.

“So I think that they give them more votes and they feel more, maybe not respect towards them, but they feel like, ‘Wow! They’ve got it harder. They drew the short stick’. Almost.

“I think that’s why it carries over, even though the women are fantastic every year.”

Alex went on to list a string of female celebrity DOI contestants who have impressed her, including Olympic gymnast Beth Tweddle who won the show in 2013 and soap star Hayley Tamaddon, who won in 2010.

However, she ruled out any suggestion that Dancing On Ice is therefore “harder” for male contestants, saying: “Not necessarily not necessarily. I think it’s all relative.”

Alex explained that women have to learn to “hold themselves” on the ice and are only at an advantage if they have a background in ballet or dance.

The skater name checked TV host and 2013 contestant Anthea Turner and former Pussycat Doll Kimberly Wyatt, who competed on the show in 2022, as good examples of skaters who already had this skill.

“I was just with Anthea last night and we were talking about the show,” Alex revealed.

Dancing On Ice 2025 pairings

Here's the 12 celebs lined up to take part in 2025 - along with their professional partner.

Michaela Strachan and Mark Hanretty

Dan Edgar and Vanessa James

Anton Ferdinand and Annette Dytrt

Sam Aston and Molly Lanaghan

Here’s who has left the show so far:

Mollie Pearce and Colin Grafton – couple were sixth to be booted off

Charlie Brooks and Eric Radford – EastEnders star loses out in the skate-off

Chris Taylor and Robin Johnstone – after Robin replaced injured pro Vanessa Bauer, the couple were the first to be eliminated after the return of the skate-off

Sir Steve Redgrave and Vicky Ogden – third to be voted off

Ferne McCann and Brendyn Hatfield – second pairing to be voted off

Josh Jones and Tippy Packardquits show after injury during rehearsals

Chelsee Healey and Andy Buchananfirst to be eliminated

Sarah Storey revealed she had quit on December 6, 2024. The Paralympian was partnered with Sylvain Longchambon.

“She was saying she felt so great on the show because she had had a background in ballet. She did really well, you know.

“And Kimberly Wyatt was brilliant because she knew how to hold herself.”

Alex explained: “That’s a skill that’s really hard and it is really hard to learn.

“So these girls who come into the show with no experience, they have to learn that as well. [The audience] don’t see that you know.”

Alex joined Dancing On Ice’s roster of pro skaters in 2018.

She won the show two times before she was brutally axed in 2022.

We ditched the UK & bought our dream home abroad for the price of a car – our bills are only £80 & we get free food

A COUPLE have revealed how they ditched the UK for Bulgaria to buy their dream home.

Emily and Lee revealed that their house cost the same amount as a shed, and bills and food were cheap.

They revealed that they bought their dream home for just £5,000 – the same price as an average second-hand car in the UK.

The pair had lived in several countries prior to settling down, but they had no idea where they would go.

Lee revealed he found a website listing houses for less than £20,000 and saw a section for some under £5,000.

He added: “So I clicked on that thinking there might be a shed somewhere in Wales, but there were about 10,000 properties in Bulgaria.”

The pair knew very little about Bulgaria, so did some research and went to visit the country.

The pair fell in love with the country and eyed up a property on the site; when they saw it in person, it was a ‘done deal’.

They spent an extra £420 hiring a friend to set up electricity and water and deal with tax and land registry.

Emily and Lee now live in Bulgaria and have turned their house into their dream home, complete with a swimming pool, chicken coop, and land to grow vegetables on.

The pair also revealed that they spend just £80 on basic bills such as house tax, water, electricity, and wifi.

To top it off, the couple, who are currently growing their own produce, receive free food from their neighbours.

Emily revealed: “We have our lovely neighbours and they’re just little old ladies living by themselves but they’re turning up with bags of tomatoes, cucumbers and lettuces once a week.”

Benefits of living in rural Bulgaria, just the most gorgeous neighbours,” the mum continued.

On top of this, the couple were thrilled with the location, which was surrounded by plenty of nature.

They were also happy to experience all four seasons: short, cold winters; chilly autumns; rainy springs; and hot summers.

Emily added: “That’s just exactly what we want, we need we need to see nature and we need to see animals and we need seasons.”

Moving house hacks

1. Declutter Before You Pack

Sort through your belongings and get rid of anything you no longer need. Donate, sell, or recycle items to lighten your load.

2. Create an Inventory

Make a list of all your items. This helps keep track of everything and ensures nothing gets lost in the move.

3. Use Quality Packing Materials

Invest in sturdy boxes, bubble wrap, and packing tape. This will protect your belongings during the move.

4. Label Everything

Clearly label each box with its contents and the room it belongs to. This makes unpacking much easier and more organized.

5. Pack a ‘First Day’ Box

Include essentials like toiletries, a change of clothes, snacks, and important documents. This will keep you from rummaging through boxes on your first day.

6. Take Photos of Electronics Setup

Before unplugging your electronics, take photos of the wiring setup. This will make it easier to reconnect everything at your new place.

7. Use Suitcases for Heavy Items

Pack books and other heavy items in rolling suitcases. This makes them easier to transport and reduces the risk of injury.

8. Colour-Code Your Boxes

Use different coloured stickers or markers for each room. This will help movers quickly identify where each box should go in your new home.

Public Reaction

The couple documented their journey on their YouTube account Our Derelict Dream.

People were quick to congratulate the couple on their bold move.

One person wrote: “Thanks for the breakdowns. I am trying to buy at the moment and the plan is to be there in 2 years time.”

Another commented: “Been here 14 years and still loving it, watching this reminds me of when I first came here, good luck with your big adventure.”

“Sounds fantastic. It’s great to see people living their dreams! We moved to Bulgaria 10 months ago and are loving it, thanks for sharing,” penned a third.

Meanwhile a fourth said: “Most comprehensive overview. Really helpful. Thank you!”

“Really interesting, thank you for sharing,” claimed a fifth.

Someone else added: “Absolutely amazing story guys.”

The Ex On The Beach star told fans: “May as well live here at this rate.

“At least I’m bronzed if anything happens.

“I’m having a sweep! With gas and air…. I’m having a proper sweep.”

Charlotte is expecting baby number three.

She revealed last week that her due date was Wednesday – meaning her new tot is now overdue

Meanwhile, fans claimed they had “worked out” when her first baby girl will arrive due to her bump “dropping.”

Others have suggested the daughter of the late Les Dawson is expecting twins.

Fans are keen to know what she will call her baby, after revealing she was having her first baby girl.

Her followers were thrilled when she recently let slip potential baby name in a funny video.

In the clip, her two-year-old son Noah can be heard saying the names “Gigi” and “Penelope”.

This sparked speculation among followers that one of these could be the name of Charlotte’s little one on the way.

Charlotte and her fiance Matt already have two sons, Noah and Jude.

Their new arrival will mark a happier chapter for the couple after rugby player Matt confessed to his sexting scandal last year.

At the time of their relationship turmoil, Charlotte was left heartbroken from the news and shared a statement about the accusations, stating that her main priority were her two sons.

However, the couple worked through their problems and are now happiy back together.

Gladiators fix row as fuming fans say contestant with famous dad was SLOWER than rival – and show’s commentator agreed

GLADIATORS has become embroiled in a fix row on social media, after some viewers claimed Frank Bruno’s daughter shouldn’t have advanced to the quarter-final.

Rachel Bruno-Hardy, a personal trainer from Essex, progressed to the next stage of the BBC show as the fastest female runner-up, after she lost out to supply teacher Aneila Afsar in heat five on February 22nd’s fifth episode of the series.

Some eagle-eyed viewers believe heat four’s Stacey Brown has been “cheated” out of a quarter-final spot[/caption]

However, some eagle-eyed viewers believe heat four’s Stacey Brown, a dinner lady from South Lanarkshire, has been “cheated” out of a quarter-final spot.

There is no timer on screen during the Eliminator stage, but Stacey appeared to complete the Eliminator in just over two minutes in episode four, which was broadcast on February 15th.

In Rachel’s episode, viewers who timed her from the broadcast clocked her completing the Eliminator in around two minutes and 19 seconds.

But host Bradley Walsh told Rachel she had advanced to the quarter-finals with a time of one minute and 38 seconds.

Afterwards, one furious viewer wrote on X: “Either they’ve lied and cheated a contest (Stacey in episode 4) or they are badly editing the eliminator to not show how crap and slow the women are as Stacey had a better time shown on recording and the slowest time made no sense as nobody had the time.”

Another posted: “I want to see official confirmation of all the contenders eliminators times as I refuse to believe Rachel who took 3-5 business days on that net, was a fastest loser.”

And another viewer claimed Rachel’s Eliminator “seemed awfully slow”, and they have called for an on-screen timer during future Eliminators.

They wrote: “There should be an on screen timer during the eliminator & a fastest runner up leader board so the audience can see the time to beat – Rachel’s eliminator seemed awfully slow compared to others we’ve seen.”

A spokesperson for the show said: “All the scores on Gladiators are recorded live in the arena. In episode 6, Bradley announced that The Eliminator took contender Rachel Bruno 138 seconds to complete the event, which it did.

“In the broadcast of the episode as seen on the BBC, it appears that Rachel’s Eliminator takes fractionally longer to complete.

“This is because to show fair coverage of both contenders’ experience on The Eliminator, production need to cut back to show the slower contender participating in the event.

“Therefore, this sometimes adds marginal time when viewing at home. Viewers can be rest assured that Rachel was faster and was therefore the winning contestant.”

During episode four, commentator Guy Mowbray said about Stacey during the Eliminator: “She might be one of the fastest runners up with this display.”

In the next episode, Rachel struggled while climbing the cargo net during the heat five Eliminator.

The 2025 Gladiators

Gladiators 2025 is a BBC reboot of the iconic sports entertainment show that ran between 1992 and 2000. Here's a look at the stars...

  • Giant – Jamie Christian Johal
  • Legend – Matt Morsia
  • Fire – Montell Douglas
  • Nitro – Harry Aikines-Aryeetey
  • Diamond – Livi Sheldon
  • Fury – Jodie Ounsley
  • Steel – Zack George
  • Comet – Ella-Mae Rayner
  • Bionic – Matty Campbell
  • Electro – Jade Packer
  • Phantom – Toby Olubi
  • Viper – Quang Luong
  • Athena – Karenjeet Kaur Bains
  • Cyclone – Lystus Ebosele
  • Hammer – Tom Wilson

Guy told the audience: “Rachel is caught in the net like a fish out of water.

“She’s found it a real struggle to get up there.”

Just before Rachel took on the Travelator – the final part of the show’s gruelling Eliminator – Guy told the audience Rachel could still qualify for the quarter-finals as one of the fastest runners up, but admitted she needed to “get a bit of a wriggle on now”.

Like Stacey in heat four, Rachel only needed one go to make it up the energy-zapping Eliminator.

Presenter Bradley then waited for the timings to come through via his earpiece, before confirming Rachel’s place in the quarters.

He said: “We’re just waiting for confirmation of timings for you, Rachel. There is a space in the quarter-finals for the fastest runner up.

“OK, 1.67 was the previous fastest … Rachel does it in 1.38. It’s a place in the quarter-finals!”

Rachel replied: “Wow, I’ve got to recover.”

Sick moment teacher, 62, is caught watching porn in class – not realising laptop was beaming X-rated vid on projector

DISGUSTED students filmed the shocking moment they caught their teacher watching porn while giving a physics class.

Footage filmed on phones by teenagers at a Russian school show the teacher watching an X-rated video while his laptop was still connected to the main screen.

He unknowingly showed the class of 13 and 14-year-old pupils the explicit video featuring four naked women with close-up shots of their lower halves.

The underage students could see the bespectacled teacher’s smirking face as he watched the lurid  adult content.

They hid their phones behind their textbooks to record the sickening scene.

Others kept their heads down and diligently got on with their work in an effort to ignore the twisted situation.

The footage went viral in Russia but the school in oil-rich Bashkortostan has so far refused to suspend the staff member, despite angry complaints from parents.

The “respected” teacher, named as Razif Nurgaliev, believed to be 62, has been at the school in Tashkinovo village, near Neftekamsk city, around 40 years.

The school’s female head Rudania Burkhanova told Pod’em media she had talked to the children and their parents, but denied reports in Russia that she had suspended the long-serving teacher.

“An internal investigation is underway,” she said.

“This happened only yesterday, and it spread today.

“Accordingly, today we are working on how this happened and what it is.

“Measures will be taken after we find out what happened.

“Today, his lessons have already ended, and tomorrow we have a day off, so[suspension] is not required for now.”

She added that in his 40-year career at the school there had never been any complaints.

But, confirmed that further comments would be made when the ongoing review is brought to an end.

The headteacher said: “I need to hear both sides: I have already talked to the children, the parents, and I will talk to the teacher.

“Only after I hear both sides will I make a decision. No comments yet.”

One report claimed the school did not want to fire him because it was hard to recruit physics teachers

In 2016, another Russian teacher was caught up in a porn scandal after it was revealed that she was a porn star specialising in schoolgirl-themed videos.

Svetlana Topol was working at an elite grammar school in the city of St. Petersburg when stunned parents and pupils received video links to her sexy films on their social media accounts.

Despite her denials of any wrongdoing, she was eventually fired.

And in 2020, a high school teacher from Florida was investigated after students accused him of watching porn during a zoom lesson.

Retired Brit couple in Thailand beaten to a pulp by neighbours in driveway row – but now THEY are the ones facing prison

A PENSIONER couple who retired to Thailand after falling in love with the ‘Land of Smiles’ were beaten to a pulp by neighbours – but now face jail amid claims of “blatant corruption”.

The dream sunset years of Middlesbrough pair Des and Mary Byrne have turned into a “horror beyond their worst nightmare” with their passports confiscated and no means of escaping “bent justice”.

Mary also got bruises and scratch marks, as well as a broken nose

Brits Des, 77, and Mary, 69, face financial ruin and are forbidden from leaving the tropical Southeast Asian country for life-saving hospital treatment.

Mary, a former NHS palliative care nurse, suffered a broken nose, bleeding on her brain, and irregular heartbeat when they were set upon during a bitter planning dispute.

After being knocked out in the unprovoked ambush one of the assailants told her partner: “you’re alright, she’s still breathing”.

During the brutal attack, which was caught on CCTV film obtained by The Sun, Des was battered to the floor and hit 22 times to the head.

He was unconscious and needed a hospital stay to recover from his horrific head and back injuries.

A couple in dispute with them over an access road in their retirement villa – aged in their 40s and trained in Thai kickboxing – were initially found guilty of assault and ordered to pay compensation.

But they appealed the verdict and despite the damning evidence, following a judicial U-turn, the Byrnes have now been charged with causing their fit neighbours ‘superficial injuries and mental anguish’.

And after “refusing to pay a bribe”, Des and Mary face a March 12 court date at which they have been warned they will be jailed.

They also fear a post-prison probation sentence which means they won’t get their passports back for years.

Mary sobbed to The Sun: “We just want to come home. It’s like something out of a bad movie. We are already trapped like prisoners despite not being locked up.

“Our health has deteriorated and we’ve spent our life savings on this horrible ordeal. The system here – the police and judiciary – is so bent.

“We have begged for help from the British Embassy and Foreign Secretary David Lammy, but are told there’s nothing that can be done.

“They just assured us we’ll get our medicines brought to us when we’re locked up.

“The whole thing is on CCTV but we are being victimised.

Thailand is known as the Land of Smiles because the people are known for their hospitality and friendliness.

“But our idyllic retirement in paradise has landed us in a living hell.”

The nightmare for the Byrnes is a far cry from the happiness they felt in 2021 when moving to a retirement villa in the seaside resort city of Hua Hin – promoted officially as the ‘Thai Riviera’, just a 2.5 hour drive from Bangkok.

Mary said: “My sister lived in Sydney and we fell in love with Thailand on numerous stopovers and trips. We’d holidayed here dozens of times.

“We rented at first then spent around £200,000 on a villa in a new retirement complex. We were so happy.”

But their dream life turned sour after returning from a shopping trip to find developers undergoing building work on their property.

And their neighbours said they now owned the access road to it.

A row broke out and the Byrnes managed to stop the development on their land for three months after hiring a lawyer and discovering the local residents had no legal right to muscle in on their home.

In the brutal attack footage seen by The Sun, Des was battered to the floor and hit 22 times in the head

Tensions escalated until in December 2023 the couple were alerted to their warring neighbours pulling up plants in their garden and screaming abuse at them.

They went outside to investigate when the couple were attacked – with Mary shoved to the floor and Des knocked down and repeatedly hit and kicked while out cold.

Des, who worked as an analyst in the chemical and oil industry, said: “When we came around we asked other neighbours for help but were told to get lost and ‘go home’.

“The police were not interested either. We tried to file a report at Sam Roi Yot Police Station but they didn’t accept our complaint.

“Eventually we found someone who took us to hospital. It was all such a horrible and shocking ordeal.”

The couple’s neighbours initially pleaded guilty to assault and were ordered to pay a small amount of compensation.

But incredibly in July last year the Byrnes were summoned to court – to be told they were now being prosecuted over the attack.

Mary said: “Our fingerprints were taken and passports confiscated and despite us being 25 years old we were said to have injured and harmed our super-fit, Thai boxing-trained, neighbours.

“One of our attackers dropped their phone when beating us and now we’re accused of property damage too.

“We were told if we paid the prosecutor money and pleaded guilty it would all go away or we’d get treated more favourably.

“Our first lawyer was afraid to go to court. The second just took our money and did nothing.

“But we have refused to pay bribes. It is so wrong. The corruption is unbelievable. We’re just cash cows to them.

“We have had to spend our life savings on new legal representation and selling our dream retirement home – for our own safety. We can’t be at risk of attack again and are living out of suitcases in temporary accommodation.

Mary and Des now face financial ruin

They are also currently unable to leave the country

“But we can’t leave the country or get the health care we need. The hearings and documentation is in Thai, and so we rely on translations when available. It’s all a blur and looking bleak.

“Without our passports in the last few months I have missed one of my sister’s funerals, and god-daughter’s wedding. And the expert medical care I need is out of reach.”

She said: “We are prepared for the worst. It has taken such an emotional and financial toll. We never thought our retirement would go like this.

“Thailand: Land of Smiles? It’s more like the Land of Corruption. Thailand has turned our dream into a nightmare.

“We’ve spent 35 years loving Thailand. Now, we just want to escape it.”

Frantic family members of the Byrnes in the UK – including Mary’s brother, nieces and nephews, and Des’s brother – have enlisted support from British politicians.

Labour’s Rupa Huq, MP for Ealing and Central Acton has begged for help from David Lammy and Catherine West MP, Under-Secretary of the State (Indo-Pacific).

In a letter seen by The Sun, the MP urged: “Mr and Mrs Byrne have had their passports confiscated and had counter charges pressed against them by perpetrators, due to this being framed as a mutual altercation.”

But sources said the Foreign Office cannot intervene in internal affairs of another country.

An official Foreign Office spokesperson told The Sun yesterday: “We are supporting two British nationals in Thailand and are in contact with the local authorities.”

Natasha Jones vs Lauren Price undercard: Who is fighting on the Royal Albert card?

THE Royal Albert Hall will host a jam-packed night of women’s boxing THIS FRIDAY.

British rivals Natasha Jonas, 40, and Lauren Price, 30, will headline the night as they go head-to-head in a massive unification bout.

Price became a professional and defeated Jessica McCaskill in March of last year to win the WBA and Ring welterweight belts

This matchup was set up by the British rivals’ respective world title wins in December.

The unbeaten Price will enter as the WBA champion, while Jonas, a multi-weight world champion, will bring the WBC and IBF titles to the capital venue – with all three on the line, as well as The Ring magazine title.

Price has gone 8-0 (2 KOs) as a professional and is building on her Olympic gold medal from Tokyo 2021.

She will be one of the biggest tests of boxing queen Jonas’ pro career, although the Liverpudlian – 10 years her senior – has vastly more professional experience (16-2-1, 9 KOs).

Here’s all you need to know about the card.

Who is fighting on the Natasha Jones vs Lauren Price undercard?

At the renowned Royal Albert Hall, a blockbuster undercard will include another world title fight with Caroline Dubois in action against Bo Mi Re Shin.

Olympic silver medallist Karriss Artingstall and Cindy Ngamba – who won bronze in Paris last summer for the Refugee team – are also on the card.

In a tantalising matchup, undefeated Olympic silver winner Artingstall, who was previously the partner of Price, takes on former WBC world featherweight championship contender Raven Chapman.

She signed a multi-fight contract with BOXXER and makes her professional debut.

‘Leave some for real shoppers’ people fume as man clears Tesco shelves to make £335 profit in an hour

A MAN has left people fuming after he cleared the shelves in Tesco and bragged about making £335 profit from reselling the products.

The seller, who makes cash through retail arbitrage, was met with a barrage of abuse as people told him to “leave something for real shoppers.”

Retail arbitrage is the practice of buying products at a lower price and then reselling them at a higher price, for a profit.

It often involves finding discounted or clearance items that can be resold for more, sometimes taking advantage of price differences across different regions or platforms like Amazon, eBay, or local stores.

It’s a popular strategy for individuals looking to make money by leveraging these price differences and is completely legal in the UK, as, once you own an item, you have the right to resell it.

But in a TikTok video that has left people fuming, the savvy seller got candid on his hefty earnings

He claimed that to top up his bank, he heads to Tesco stores “nice and early” to check out the discounted finds in their reduced section.

Using an app called Seller Amp, the man scanned items in the supermarket to find out how much they are selling for on Amazon and how many times they have been sold in the past month.

He then shared: “Scanning these [pens] shows that I can sell these on Amazon for £9 and they’ll give me £2.54 profit after fees, so I pick up nine of them, that’s £23 profit, just like that.”

Not only this, but he added: “These Post-It notes – buy for £1.95, sell for over a tenner, giving £2.77 profit each – five of them and that’s another £13.85 profit.”

The man also got some highlighters and calculators, giving him an extra £7 in profit.

After just 10 minutes in one Tesco store, the man claimed to have made £44 profit.

In search of more sales, he then drove 10 minutes to another Tesco store, where he nabbed 12 more calculators, making another £33 profit.

He also claimed to find another type of calculator, which he described as a ‘gold mine’, as he could buy it for just £9 and sell it for £29.29, giving him £10.36 profit per unit.

That’s over £335 of profit for just over an hour’s work

Arbitrage seller

As a result, he explained: “We got 19 of these, that’s just shy of £200 profit.”

He then found packs of Sharpie pens in the reduced section, which were being sold in Tesco for £3.90, but can be flogged online for £9, giving a profit of £1.17 per unit.

Do I need to pay tax on my side hustle income?

MANY people feeling strapped for cash are boosting their bank balance with a side hustle.

The good news is, there are plenty of simple ways to earn some additional income – but you need to know the rules.

When you’re employed the company you work for takes the tax from your earnings and pays HMRC so you don’t have to.

But anyone earning extra cash, for example from selling things online or dog walking, may have to do it themselves.

Stephen Moor, head of employment at law firm Ashfords, said: “Caution should be taken if you’re earning an additional income, as this is likely to be taxable.

“The side hustle could be treated as taxable trading income, which can include providing services or selling products.”

You can make a gross income of up to £1,000 a year tax-free via the trading allowance, but over this and you’ll usually need to pay tax.

Stephen added: “You need to register for a self-assessment at HMRC to ensure you are paying the correct amount of tax.

“The applicable tax bands and the amount of tax you need to pay will depend on your income.”

If you fail to file a tax return you could end up with a surprise bill from HMRC later on asking you to pay the tax you owe – plus extra fees on top.

Subsequently, he continued: “Got 21 of those, so that’s around about £25 profit.”

The reseller bragged that he “cleaned up” the Tesco store and as a result of clearing the shelves, made £295 profit from the one store alone.

Combined with his £40 profit from his earlier trip, the man boasted: “That’s over £335 of profit for just over an hour’s work.”

Social media users fume

The TikTok clip, which was posted under the username @aftermarketarbitrage, has clearly left many open-mouthed, as it has quickly amassed 217,600 views, 7,343 likes and 193 comments.

But social media users were horrified at the man’s actions – and also weren’t totally convinced.

At least leave something for real shoppers

TikTok user

One person said: “What a mug. I buy off Temu way more profit margins. Leave those for kids.”

Another added: “Sounds too good to be true.”

Alongside an angry face emoji, a third commented: “At least leave something for real shoppers.”

Whilst someone else remarked: “IF they sell.”
