But Lawson admits he has only got to where he is thanks to an amazing sacrifice from his parents.
The youngster has revealed his family SOLD their home while he was making his bones as a karting driver.
The funds were used to help Lawson reach his potential, eventually leading to his big break with Red Bull.
And Lawson is desperate to make his parents proud after admitting they still don’t have a family home to call their own.
He told GQ: “They still don’t own a house because of me.
“I think I complained to my dad for more than a year about my kart. I’d tell him that the engine sucked but he just secretly thought that I sucked.
“Eventually he got sick of me whining and bought two good engines, and we put them on for the first time at this big race.

However, Sue has agreed to appear at just one show at the Dominion Theatre in London.
In addition to the previously announced stars, we can reveal Jane Danson, Julia Goulding and Vicky Myers have also signed up.
The leading female stars join already announced actors Andrew Whyment, Jack P Shepherd, Jimmi Harkishin, Jodie Prenger, Rob Mallard, Samia Longchambon, Simon Gregson and Patti Clare.
A ‘a bona fide Coronation Street legend’ has also been teased, though their identity remains under wraps for now.
ITV is bringing An Audience with Coronation Street to London, Sheffield, Salford and Glasgow this autumn – which is a first for the soap.
A source close to the show said: “This is going to be a huge celebration of Corrie – it’s no secret it’s been a difficult time but the cast are really looking forward to the shows and meeting the fans.”
Presented by This Morning’s Queen of Soaps Sharon Marshall, fans will be treated to behind-the-scenes details and never before told stories from the Weatherfield cobbles.
Tickets go on sale this Friday, March 14, and start from £29.50.
Teasing the show, its promoters said: “In the first half, the audience will be treated to an intimate and lively interview session with some of Corrie’s most beloved cast members. Ever wondered what goes on between takes?
“Curious about those off-screen friendships and real-life dramas? This is your chance to hear all the gossip straight from the source. You’ll also get to know the actors behind the characters like never before, their journeys, their funniest on-set moments, and the real-life bonds that make Weatherfield feel like home.
“Just when you think the night couldn’t get any better, the second act brings a showstopping twist! A very special guest; a bona fide Coronation Street legend will take to the stage. But who will it be? We’re keeping it a cliffhanger, Corrie-style!”
Corrie cash crisis: shock exits for 2025
ITV bosses are locked in a battle to save the cash-strapped soap.
This means that a number of stars have either been axed from or have abandoned the long-running serial drama.
Colson Smith – Craig Tinker
The character of Craig Tinker has been axed by bosses after 14 years. After he was told of the news in Autumn 2024, Colson Smith confirmed that would be written out of the show with scenes to air later this year. Craig’s on-screen mum, Beth Tinker, also left the show in the summer when actress Lisa George was written out from the role.
Sue Cleaver – Eileen Grimshaw
After 25 years playing Eileen Grimshaw, former I’m A Celebrity campmate Sue Cleaver will quit the show. The Sun on Sunday reported in January that she’s already begun to film her exit scenes. However the character will not be killed off in case Sue opts to make a return in the future.
The actress became the fifth star to leave Coronation Street in just one month. We revealed that she will bow out of the ITV soap later this year after four years on-screen. Charlotte told sources that she’s hungry to see what other opportunities await.

JADON SANCHO could return to Manchester United next season – despite Chelsea having an obligation to buy the forward.
The United winger, 24, is currently on a season-long loan at Stamford Bridge.
RexJadon Sancho joined Chelsea on a loan-to-buy obligation last summer[/caption]
GettyReports claim the winger could yet find himself back at Manchester United[/caption]
Sancho joined the Blues last summer after falling out of favour in the North West.
The former £73million man has made 26 appearances for Chelsea this term, scoring 2 goals.
Sancho recently declared he was “delighted” to be at the club and “felt at home”.
But the former Dortmund flop was called out by United co-owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe during his explosive interview earlier this week.
Chelsea’s loan deal with United includes an obligation to buy Sancho if they finish 14th or higher in the Premier League.
According to The Mail, the final fee will be between £22m and £25m depending on Chelsea’s final league position.
But the outlet claims the Blues could yet back out of the deal and send Sancho back to United, where he still has 18 months left on his £250k-a-week contract.
The ex-Man City star has “yet to agree personal terms” with the Blues.
Man Utd ratings vs Arsenal as De Ligt shows exactly why Red Devils signed him but Zirkzee is as frustrating as ever
IT was a performance that would have pleased Ruben Amorim but a 1-1 draw with Arsenal does little to paper over the cracks at Manchester United.
On a day when the Old Trafford crowd protested the owners, the players stood up to show their remains life in a club that fans say is experiencing a “slow death”.
There was a lack of clear-cut chances in the opening 45 minutes as both sides goalscoring troubles continued.
A moment of magic was needed and Fernandes stepped up as he so often does.
Arsenal‘s wall was full of man mountains, but Fernandes found the power, dip and accuracy to beat David Raya with his free-kick – even if the wall was marched 11.2 yards back instead of the regulated ten.
Mikel Arteta’s side came out swinging in the second-half with their makeshift No9 up top, and it took a brilliant effort from Declan Rice to level the scores.
United were able to frustrate them and remain a threat on the counter but eventually had to settle for a point in a much-improved performance.

PRESIDENT Donald Trump is buying a Tesla at the White House today to show support for CEO Elon Musk after weeks of violent backlash.
Musk brought an entire fleet of electric vehicles to the White House lawn to let the president have his pick of the litter in the purchase.

Trump’s support for his advisor comes after Tesla faced backlash and vandalism over Musk’s new role in the Oval Office.
As the head of Trump’s brand new Department of Government Efficiency, Musk has slashed federal jobs and budgets in Trump’s first few months of his second term.
Growing fears and concerns over Doge’s plans have sparked a series of attacks on Tesla across the country, including vandalism at Tesla showrooms and charging stations.
Over the past few weeks, protestors have gathered at multiple Tesla locations as people carry signs and shout chants, lashing out at Musk for his role in the Trump administration.
The company is also facing dropping sales for the first time as Americans are boycotting the auto giant in what protestors are calling a “Tesla takedown.”
Trump said on Tuesday that he will classify the attacks on dealerships as domestic terrorism.
In the face of the backlash, Trump announced on Tuesday morning that he would buy a Tesla as “a show of confidence and support for Elon Musk, a truly great American.”
“The attack son Elon by the radical left are not just attacks on him, but on this incredible American company and the workers who make these spectacular cars,” Trump said.
On Tuesday afternoon, videos shared to X showed Trump walking next to at least four different Teslas, including a Cybertruck, arranged on the South Portico of the White House.
Musk’s son X Æ A-Xii also joined the Doge head as the powerful duo talked over Trump’s options.
While speaking at the White House, the billionaire also said Tesla will double its vehicle output in the US over the next two years.
White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt joked at a briefing on Tuesday that the president, a native New Yorker, was excited to drive again.
As the vehicles were being transported to the White House, Leavitt said it was a “very exciting moment.”
She insisted Trump would pay the full market price for the car.
Pictures from the White House showed Trump reviewing a handwritten note of Tesla’s pricing on his presidential stationary.

MOTORISTS have been warned of delays and diversions next weekend as a major road tunnel is set to close in both directions.
The Kingsway Tunnel on the A59, which connects Liverpool to Wallasey, will be fully shut to traffic in order for key maintenance work to take place.
AlamyThe Kingsway Tunnel between Liverpool and Wallasey will close in both directions between March 23 and 24[/caption]
Also known as the Wallasey Tunnel, the busy route will close in both directions from 7pm on Sunday, March 23, until 6.30am on Monday, March 24.
Merseytravel said the closure is part of an “ongoing investment and modernisation programme” that aims to “futureproof” the tunnels.
The route is a key part of the city region’stransport network and is one of just two road crossings underneath the River Mersey.
A spokesperson for the transport agency said: “Key maintenance works are being carried out at the Kingsway Tunnel which means it will be closed fully to traffic from 19:00 on Sunday 23rd March 2025 to 6.30 on Monday 24th March 2025.
“This is part of an ongoing investment and modernisation programme to futureproof the tunnels as a key part of the city region transport network and a vital a cross river travel connection.”
Diversion routes will be in place to help ensure drivers can connect their journeys, however heavy goods vehicles (HGVs) will be more limited with where they can travel.
Most motorists will be able to use the nearby Queensway (Birkenhead) Tunnel which operates in both directions.
However, HGVs are not permitted to use this route so will likely have to find an alternative route using bridges to cross the River Mersey near Runcorn.
Bus services across the river will be diverted through the Queensway Tunnel and passengers have been advised to check directly with their operator for any changes to journeys.
A spokesperson for Merseytravel added: “The Queensway (Birkenhead) tunnel will be open as usual but please leave more time for your journey.
“Heavy Goods Vehicles are not permitted through the Queensway (Birkenhead) Tunnel so please find an alternative route.
“Cross river bus services will be diverted through Queensway and so passengers are advised to check directly with their operator for any changes to their journey and plan ahead.”
The transport agency has advised those planning to use the Kingsway Tunnel in the early hours of Monday, March 24, to check before they travel.
A spokesperson for the body added: “We would like to thank drivers for their patience while we complete this essential maintenance.”
The A12 in London was plagued with chock-a-block traffic during the peak of rush-hour on Monday morning after a lorry collided with part of a tunnel.
Huge queues formed as the southbound route of the Blackwall Tunnel was shut and motorists were advised to take alternative routes to avoid the “severe” delays.
Diversion routes in place for Kingsway Tunnel closure
Drivers approaching from the Wirral should follow diversion routes off the A59.
These will take you through Birkenhead towards the Queensway Tunnel, where you can cross into Liverpool.
Those approaching from Liverpool should follow diversion routes off the A59 into the heart of the city.
There, you will be able to join the Queensway Tunnel to Birkenhead, where you can then re-join the A59, after following the diversion route through the area.
Heavy goods vehicles (HGVs) are unable to use the Queensway Tunnel and should seek alternative routes.

Lily Allen looks poised for a music comeback following a seven-year break from the charts.
I can exclusively reveal the Smile singer has been approached by a number of major labels in recent months — including BMG — after they asked to hear what she had been working on.
InstagramLily Allen set for music comeback after seven-year break – with a host of big-name record companies showing interest[/caption]
A source said: “Lily has been quietly beavering away on new music for a while, on and off, but her schedule has been packed.
“Her podcast Miss Me? has really taken off and she is taking on the leading role in Hedda at the Theatre Royal in Bath in June, as well as working on a new musical she is developing.
“After she shared pictures of herself in the studio, labels got in touch to hear what she has been working on.
“She has had an approach from BMG, who think her new music is sounding great.
“Lily is busy writing songs for her musical and right now she’s only thinking about that – but naturally she’s flattered by the interest in her. There is a lot of excitement around Lily.
“She sold millions of records before, so it’s not surprising labels want to get her on board.
“Lily isn’t rushing into anything though. She is a perfectionist and if she is committing to a project, she wants to give it her all.
“She will focus on Hedda this summer and see how she wants to proceed with her music.”
Lily has a string of hits to her name, with ten Top Ten tracks including three No1s thanks to Smile, The Fear and Somewhere Only We Know. Her fourth and last album, No Shame, peaked at No8 in 2018.
Lily is riding high this week after selling out her two Miss Me? Live podcast shows with Miquita Oliver in London.
Insiders told me the shows went down so well that promoters are keen to see if the pair would sign up for a nationwide tour at some point.
Between treading the boards, a possible new album and perhaps a UK jaunt with her pal Miquita, I have no idea where Lily is going to find the time to fit this all in.
But as a huge fan of her hits, including the 2008 track F*** You, which is still on all of my Spotify playlists, I would love her to make that fifth record a reality.

“She looked totally crazy in her disguise but she was absolutely loving getting into character.

“As far as music videos go, this one is the weirdest she’s ever done.”
