Viewers watched as Cornel Hrisca-Munn delivered an inspiring performance on the ITV show.
The 33-year-old Accessibility Manager – who was born with no arms – played a drum solo to Robbie Williams‘ Let Me Entertain You.
Speaking to the hopeful afterwards, Simon opened up about Eric’s interest in music.
He shared: “My son has just taken up drums and he is going to watch this over and over again.
“That was inspiring.”
Cornel received four “yes” votes from the judges, thereby advancing to the next round.
Elsewhere, Simon previously revealed the real reason behind why he’s a “soft touch” after changing his Britain’s Got Talent persona.
He admitted how Eric had changed how he acted towards talent on stage.
It led him to ditch the “nasty” comments he had become known for on Britain’s Got Talent and The X Factor.
Simon told The Sun: “Ever since I’ve had a son you start seeing these kids and every time I think ‘god that could be Eric’ – if they’re like, eight, nine, ten, whatever.
“So by that point definitely, that has really had an effect.
“Apart from that, when I watched some of those clips just then it really did remind me that it’s those moments where you get surprised, and that’s what I love about the show.
“That moment where you can just feel everyone is involved and they like it, and it’s going to change that person’s life.
Britain’s Got Talent Judges

The ITV talent show wouldn’t be the same without the four charismatic judges who put the contestants through their paces.
Simon Cowell is the staple of Britain’s Got Talent and resumes his role as head judge. The mogul is one of the most iconic figures in music and is responsible for offsetting the careers of many performers around the world.
Amanda Holden has been a judge on Britain’s Got Talent since it first started in 2007. The sexy star is a firm fixture on the judging panel, which has helped her to become a household name.
Alesha Dixon is back to judge the new series of Britain’s Got Talent. The TV star joined the panel back in 2012 and quickly became a fan favourite.
Bruno Tonioli makes up the fab four. After leaving Strictly, he decided to move over to ITV and is the newest BGT judge after replacing David Walliams.
“You don’t know what’s going to happen, other than it’s just going to be good.”
His co-judge Amanda Holden said: “He did go soft for a bit but I feel like he’s coming back now.
“He’s up for it, he would never have let anyone throw things at him – you’ve changed so much, and I do think that’s because you’ve got Eric who throws things at you and jumps on you and all those things.”
Britain’s Got Talent continues on ITV1 and ITVX.
