Michael Schumacher plot ‘mastermind’ threatened to leak ‘intimate’ photos of stricken star to ‘get REVENGE on family’

THE mastermind of the Michael Schumacher blackmail plot threatened to leak “intimate” photos of the stricken star, a German court has been told.

A former security guard for the Schumacher’s allegedly wanted “revenge” after he was let go by the family earlier this year.

Bouncer Yilmaz T was also hired to extort £12million from Schumachar’s family, it is claimed

Markus F, 53, reportedly turned bitter following the decision and hatched a plan alongside two other men to extort the wealthy family out of millions, it has been alleged.

German cops have been leading investigations with the three suspects appearing at Wuppertal District Court near Dortmund this week.

A member of the Schumacher staff took to the stand as she told the court she has seen emails between Markus and the family revealing he wanted cash in return for the intimate photos staying private.

Heike Puschmann claimed the men had images of Michael in his wheelchair and threatened to post them on the dark web.

She told the court: “Emails were written in which he said if he didn’t get his pay he would go after the Schumacher family.”

Puschmann, who works for the Schumacher’s, said she couldn’t remember the amount of money asked for in the messages.

She did believe it was less than three months worth of wages the former security guard would have been on at the time.

Markus has refused to say a word in court so far other than to confirm his name and address.

The intimate images are said to be a part of a 1,500 cache of secret files believed to have been stolen from the Schumacher family home.

This sensitive material was uploaded onto four USB sticks and two hard drives in the days prior to Markus being let go, prosecutors say.

The content included photos, videos, medication lists and even Schumacher’s patient file, BILD reported back in July.

Markus is accused of stealing the information and then recruiting long-term pal and local bouncer Yilmaz T, 53, say German authorities.

Yilmaz then allegedly used his son Daniel L to help him make contact with the Schumacher family before trying to extort them.

Police say the total figure the trio wanted was around £12million.

Yilmaz – who had known Markus for over 20 years – was allegedly promised a small commission in return for his help.

German cops plan quickly managed to thwart the plot soon after contact was first made with the Schumacher family.

When the men were first hauled into court Markus’ lawyer claimed he had been asked by Corinna to digitalise copies of photos taken of her husband.

This included the intimate images.

However, a shocking revelation reportedly now claims that one of the hard drives which may still hold data on the F1 legend has gone missing.

Authorities said they were able to track down the alleged extortionists through “technical measures”.

On July 4, officers arrested Markus in his apartment in Wülfrath.

They also detained Yilmaz and his son Daniel L soon after for their roles in the alleged blackmail plot.

All three men were charged and are now in court for the hearing.

Prosecutors are asking for the men to spend at least four years behind bars if found guilty.

Speaking for the first time at Wuppertal District Court, Yilmaz T said he had done nothing wrong and that it was all to help out a poor nurse.

I didn’t think there was anything bad about it. He said he had photos of a person and wanted to sell them

Daniel Lsuspect

His son Daniel has accepted his role in the affair but is claiming he had no knowledge of the content being sent as part of the plot.

The 30-year-old is being charged for having supplied his father with an untraceable Gmail address.

He is also accused of forwarding the illicit pictures on his dad’s behalf.

Daniel said: “I didn’t see the content. My dad just said that it was a legal, normal affair, whereby there was a layer involved, and that was it for me, so I didn’t ask any more questions.

“I didn’t think there was anything bad about it. He said he had photos of a person and wanted to sell them.

“I didn’t ask my father what it was all about. Its my father. So I just thought, yeah, okay, and that was it.”

Schumacher’s wife Corinna, 55, has already filed a motion to protect her husband during the trial.

She is asking to exclude the public from the trial if the seven-time world champion’s current state of health is ever discussed.

Corinna has spent over a decade crafting a close knit inner circle of people who are allowed to know about Michael’s health ever since his horrific ski accident.

The F1 star hasn’t been seen or heard from since after with very little being released about his current status.

What happened to Michael Schumacher?

MICHAEL Schumacher’s life was hanging by a thread over 10-years-ago as medics tried desperately to keep him alive after a tragic skiing crash.

The F1 legend was left with horrific brain injuries and placed into a coma for 250 days.

He was given the best possible treatment as he underwent hours of tricky operations on his brain.

Back in 2013, the retired seven-time world champion, and his then 14-year-old son set off on the Combe de Saulire ski run in the exclusive French resort of Meribel.

Footage from his helmet camera revealed he was not travelling at excessive speed when his skis struck a rock hidden beneath the snow.

He catapulted forward 11.5ft and crashed into a boulder head first that split his helmet into two and left him needing to be airlifted to hospital for two life-saving operations.

At one point his family were told to brace themselves for the worst case scenario as the situation was much worse than originally believed.

At the time, medics said Schumacher was likely to stay in an induced coma for at least 48 hours as his body and mind recovered.

But the coma ended up lasting 250 days – more than eight months.

After he woke up in June 2014, he was discharged from hospital and sent to his home in Lake Geneva to get further treatment.

Since then his wife Corinna and his inner circle of friends have expertly avoided almost anything leaking out about his health status.

Only small amounts of information have been released including reports that Schumacher was in a wheelchair but can react to things around him.

In 2019, it was said that Schumacher was set to undergo breakthrough stem cell therapy in a bid to regenerate and rebuild his nervous system.

Renowned France cardiologist Dr Philippe Menasche, who had operated on him previously, was set to carry out the treatment that would see cells from his heart go to his brain.

Following the treatment at the Georges Pompidou Hospital in Paris, he was said to be “conscious”, although few other details were given about his state.

UK seaside theme park reveals plans to reopen closed-down ride – and it will be much faster

BLACKPOOL Pleasure Beach is set to reopen one of its most iconic rides following a year-long closure.

Ice Blast, a 210ft shot tower that launches riders skywards at 80mph, closed earlier this year.

The tower ride will reopen in March under a new name, Launch Pad[/caption]

For next year, the ride will reopen under the name Launch Pad.

The seaside ride has also received a new pressure cylinder, which will “transform the current ride experience, and thrust riders with more force than they’ve experienced in recent years”.

The new cylinder will give the ride more speed thanks to the higher pressure.

However, it’s not the first time the ride has been reimagined.

The newly-named Launch Pad first opened at Blackpool Pleasure Beach in 1997, becoming the UK’s first tower ride.

It opened under the name PlayStation: The Ride, because of a sponsorship deal with Sony.

Boyzone opened the ride with frontman Ronan Keating being among the first people to try the tower ride.

In 2000, the tower ride was re-named Ice Blast – after the drinks brand Tango became the sponsor.

Launch Pad will open at Blackpool Pleasure Beach in March, 2025.

Blackpool Pleasure Beach Resort boss, Amanda Thompson, said: “Earlier this year we announced that we are focusing on constantly evolving and renewing our ride offering, and confirmed our intention to make some exciting announcements in the future.

“The new era of Launch Pad is only the first, and we’re looking forward to everything the future holds at Pleasure Beach Resort.”

Meanwhile, director of engineering at Pleasure Beach Resort, Karl Murphy, added: “A new cylinder might not sound much on paper, but it will make a huge difference in terms of the ride experience.

“Riders can expect to feel their stomachs drop to the floor with the increased force, and experience epic moments of weightlessness.”

Blackpool Pleasure Beach Resort is home to the only two rides in the country to have been given a prestigious global award.

Earlier this year, the American Coaster Enthusiasts (ACE) awarded two rides at Blackpool Pleasure Beach with Rollercoaster Landmark Plaques – a special recognition reserved for rides of historical significance.

Both the Big Dipper and the Grand National were awarded Rollercoaster Landmark Plaques.

Riders can expect to feel their stomachs drop to the floor

They were the 49th and 50th rollercoasters in the world to be presented with the award, making Blackpool Pleasure Beach the second theme park in the world to receive two plaques at the same time.

Blackpool Pleasure Beach is home to plenty of record-breaking rollercoasters, including the UK’s tallest rollercoaster, The Big One, the UK’s first looping coaster, Revolution, the UK’s first suspended looping coaster completely over water, Infusion, and the UK’s first double launch coaster, Icon.

Meanwhile, younger guests are also very well catered for, with Wallace & Gromit’s Thrill-o-matic, the Alice in Wonderland dark ride and Nickelodeon Land all on offer among many others.

Blackpool Pleasure Beach has been praised by visitors on TripAdvisor, with a 4 star rating from more than 4,000 reviews.

One person wrote: “By far one of the best days out this year, the staff are fantastic and the rides are out of this world.”

Someone else added: “A great time with all the family, kids absolutely loved Nickelodeon Land.”

A third review read: “I had a really good time at Pleasure Beach with my family, had a lovely day on the rides.”

How to spend a weekend in Blackpool

TRAVEL writer Catherine Lofthouse visited Blackpool last year with her family, here’s what she thought…

Bumbling along the beach in Blackpool, with the iconic tower as a backdrop, it feels like we’ve stepped inside a postcard, capturing the very essence of the great British seaside.

Whether you love a back-to-basics bucket-and-spade beach break, want a thrill a minute at one of the UK’s oldest theme parks or fancy a night on the tiles, there’s everything you need at Blackpool.

As a Strictly fan, I’d wanted to pay homage to the home of ballroom, but didn’t find much else to make me break out in song and dance.

But this summer, it feels like Blackpool is on the up.

Everywhere I look, there’s building taking place and existing attractions being spruced up.

There’s been investment along the seafront, with Merlin, the company behind Alton Towers and Legoland, recently opening its eighth attraction in the town with the arrival of the Gruffalo Clubhouse for little ones.

Blackpool Pleasure Beach is redeveloping some of its big name rides too, like Valhalla, which draws in theme park enthusiasts from across the UK and beyond.

Away from the beach, work is taking place to restore the historic Winter Gardens and their surrounds to their former glory.

Plans are underway to develop pet-friendly apartments at the seaside theme park.

And this award-winning theme park is opening a new £300m attraction in the UK.

Hundreds of farmers descend on central London in mass tractor protest over Labour’s ‘devastating’ inheritance tax hikes

HUNDREDS of farmers are descending on London in another mass tractor protest over Labour’s “devastating” inheritance tax hikes.

The demonstration – organised by Save British Farming and Kent Fairness for Farmers – will see campaigners park up outside Parliament today.

It coincides with Sir Keir Starmer facing Prime Minister’s Questions in the Commons.

Last month, around 13,000 protesters – including Jeremy Clarkson – rallied in the capital against the tractor tax outlined in Rachel Reeves’ first Budget.

It will see farmers paying a 20 percent levy on agricultural assets worth more than £1million.

Sector leaders say the change will have a devastating impact on already struggling family farms.

Everyone can see the tasty candy canes – but only the sweetest people can spot the odd one out in 12 seconds

THIS is the sweet brainteaser that challenges you to get in the Christmas mood and spot the odd candy cane out.

Everybody can see the tempting candy canes thoughtfully lined up in rows to be eaten one after the other, but only those with 20/20 vision and a high IQ can spot the odd one out in 12 seconds.

Spot the odd candy cane.

Can you spot the candy cane that isn’t like the others?[/caption]

The puzzle will remind you of the last time you ate a candy cane at Christmas, even though you don’t see much of them in your day-to-day life.

The treats are synonymous with the festive season, but they rarely seen outside of the winter months, and that makes you sad.

Maybe the world would be a less complicated place if you stumbled upon convenient candy cane rows like in this image.

Then again, eating more than one might make you sick, so readers are advised to tread lightly.

If you’re taking on this optical illusion, maybe leave some for the rest of us and eat the odd one out to make it look neater.

This teaser is difficult because of the lack of difference between the several sweets.

This makes it harder to spot the differences, because you’re looking at the same simple pattern.

They key to this one is to focus on the placements of the stripes.

Are you ready, because the clock is ticking!

If you’re still struggling, a hint would be to look at the bottom of the candy canes.

People who are able to solve the puzzle quickly possess good observational skills and high cognitive speed.

It tests your ability to process a high volume of visual information and the ability to concentrate under high amounts of pressure.

How can optical illusions and brainteasers help me?

Engaging in activities like solving optical illusions and brainteasers can have many cognitive benefits as it can stimulate various brain regions.

Some benefits include:

  • Cognitive stimulation: Engaging in these activities challenges the brain, promoting mental agility and flexibility.
  • Problem-solving skills: Regular practice enhances analytical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
  • Memory improvement: These challenges often require memory recall and can contribute to better memory function.
  • Creativity: They encourage thinking outside the box, fostering creativity and innovative thought processes.
  • Focus and attention: Working on optical illusions and brainteasers requires concentration, contributing to improved focus.
  • Stress relief: The enjoyable nature of these puzzles can act as a form of relaxation and stress relief.

Psychologists at The University of Glasgow found that staring at an optical illusion can improve eye sight by allowing you to see small print.

Escape London says puzzles can also give your mind a great workout and may “boost your brain’s activity” which “reduces the risk of dementia.”

These can help to stimulate several parts of the brain at the same time.

Tasks like this can also provide people with a productive way to have fun and relax.

Have you solved it? Don’t worry, if you’re still struggling we’ve included the solution to the brainteaser down below.

If you’ve solved that, why not try testing your mental agility on these ones?

Zoe Ball’s daughter Nell rushed to A&E after after accident at dad Fatboy Slim’s home in Brighton

ZOE Ball has shared how her family has already suffered a Christmas disaster ahead of the big day.

The Radio 2 star, 54, was chatting on the breakfast show today (Wednesday, December 11) when she spoke of how her daughter was rushed to hospital recently.

Zoe shocked listeners when she recalled the recent moment which saw her daughter Nell get rushed to A&E for an X-ray after something was dropped on her foot.

The radio host explained how her daughter’s father, Fatboy Slim AKA Norman Cook, accidentally dropped a Christmas tree on the teenager’s foot.

“Sending love to my Nell today,” she said on her show before revealing the painful incident.

“It was supposed to be her last day of school today. But sadly, her dad [Fatboy Slim] unintentionally dropped a Christmas Tree on her foot and she had to go to A&E yesterday.!

Zoe added: “She had an X-ray but it’s okay, it’s just swollen.

“She’s going to be alright, but she was supposed to go ice skating with her friends from school today but she won’t be able to get her foot in a boot.

“The things you don’t think are going to happen!”

Zoe is mum to daughter Nelly, 14, and son Woody, 23.

The radio host shares her kids with her ex-husband Fatboy Slim, whom she married in 1999 after they met in Ibiza in 1997.

The couple’s marriage wasn’t to stand the test of time though, with them announcing their divorce in 2016.

SPENDING TIME TOGETHER AGAIN?

Back in October, it was reported that the couple had been spending more time together, with tongues wagging.

Remaining close friends, it was recently reported that Zoe sold her Sussex mansion so she could move closer to her ex in Brighton.

Two months ago an insider told the Daily Mail: “They always seem to be together.”

STEPPING DOWN FROM RADIO

The Radio 2 host announced her departure from the station last month.

Announcing the news, she said at the time: “After six incredible years on the Radio 2 Breakfast Show, it’s time for me to step away from the very early mornings and focus on family.”

She went on: “It’s been a privilege. I think the world of you listeners and I’m grateful to my bosses here for their support, especially this year.

“Huge thanks go to my awesome team on the show, Tina, Mike, and Richie, and of course our listeners, with whom I’ve shared some of life’s highs and lows, the good, the bad, and the daft times.”

Zoe then revealed: “My last show will be on Friday, December 20, just in time for Christmas with plenty of fun and shenanigans.

“While I’m stepping away from the Breakfast Show, I’m not disappearing entirely – I’ll still be a part of the Radio 2 family, with more news in the New Year.

“I’m excited to embrace my next chapter, including being a mum in the mornings, and I can’t wait to tune in on the school run!”

This comes amid reports that she is set to return to her telly career next year, with ITV and Netflix already eyeing her up.
