I’m 88 and my boyfriend is 43 – he never notices my age but his mother will never accept me, she’s jealous of our love
A COUPLE with a whopping 45 year age gap are preparing to celebrate two decades of marriage, despite a rocky start to their relationship.
Adrián Narváez, now 43, and Delia Lúquez, now 88, struck up a friendship before things turned romantic between the pair.
The couple started off as friends before forming a romantic relationship[/caption] They’re now celebrating two decades together, despite the naysayers[/caption]He says that even as a teenager, he was never attracted to women who were the same age as him.
Adrián felt as though he was born at the wrong time as he also prefers older houses and car models.
He first met Delia at an art exhibition in 1998 when she was 61 and he was 16 – but the pair did not start a romantic relationship until years later.
Delia, a teacher and hobby painter, and Adrián, who enjoyed writing poems and stories, bonded through their creative spirit.
After their initial meeting, they kept in touch and wrote each other letters – which Adrián still cherishes to this day.
Years later, he admitted to Delia that he had fallen in love with her and the pair began a romantic relationship.
But they kept their romance a secret – meeting up occasionally to play a game of cards or share a drink.
They did not understand that, despite the age difference, we could love each other.
Adrián Narváez
Adrián and Delia, who both live in Rivadavia, Mendoza, Argentina, are both Jehovah’s Witnesses.
Due to the ethical rules of conduct, they were unable to see each other in a space alone.
But after 12 months of secrecy, they decided to go public.
“The father accepted me right away but the mother didn’t want to know anything,” Delia told local press.
Adrián added: “It was jealousy.”
“They did not understand that, despite the age difference, we could love each other.
“At first they did the impossible to separate us.”
But the pair believed in their love.
“I’ve never been ashamed of the age difference,” Adrián told Infobae.
“Honestly, I don’t notice it.
“And even though there’s 45 years between us, I go with her everywhere.”

They have now enjoyed 20 happy years together, although they have experienced some tough moments.
In 2009, Delia had to undergo eight operations after encountering issues with her hip, knee, eyes, and gallbladder.
More recently, she was admitted to hospital for arrhythmia and Adrián was unable to see her.
Luckily, Delia recovered.
They pair still share a passion for art, too.

MANCHESTER CITY have completed the signing of Egyptian forward Omar Marmoush in a deal that could be worth £64 million.
The 25-year-old Eintracht Frankfurt star has been one of the stand-out players in the German league this season.
Omar Marmoush has excelled in the Bundesliga this season[/caption]He has signed a four-and-a-half year deal at the Etihad and Pep Guardiola hopes he will fill the gap left by Julian Alvarez – who left to join Atletico Madrid in the summer.
City will pay an initial £59 million for Marmoush – while his former club could net another £5 million in add ons.
And it takes the spending of the champions this window to more than £120 million – following the arrivals of Abdukodir Khusanov and Vitor Reis earlier this weeks.
Marmoush – who is an international team-mate of Mo Salah – has scored 37 goals and made 20 assists for Frankfurt since he joined them in summer 2023.
And Guardiola will be desperately hoping he can help to get his team back on track after a nightmare couple of months for them.
Marmoush said: “This is a day I will never forget. To sign for Manchester City – one of the best teams in the world – is an amazing feeling.
“With Pep, his technical staff and the world-class facilities here, players have everything they need to become better. That was really enticing for me when I had the chance to come here.
“And I cannot deny I also want to win trophies. City have been the most successful club in England for many, many years, so I know I am joining a winning environment and winning culture.

“I really am looking forward to getting going, meeting the other players and showing the Manchester City fans what I can do.”
Director of football Txiki Begiristain said: “He has all the attributes a top-class attacker requires.
“He has outstanding pace and awareness, and he is exceptional in front of goal. He can also play a number of different positions, which is a really valuable asset.
“He’s had an outstanding season, and every time we have watched him, he has influenced matches.”
City’s January spending may not be finished yet as they still would like to sign a defensive midfielder to cover for the injured Rodri.
Dutch Darts Masters 2025: Schedule, results, TV channel, live stream as Luke Littler returns after Bahrain defeat
DEN BOSCH plays host to the world’s top darts stars this weekend – with reigning champion Michael van Gerwen defending his title in front of home support.
Van Gerwen, alongside recent crowned world champion Luke Littler and last week’s Bahrain Masters winner Stephen Bunting, spearhead a 16-strong pack.
Three-time world champion Van Gerwen pipped teenage prodigy Littler in last year’s final 8-6 – where the latter posted the highest checkout in the tournament at 150.
As for the rest of the contending field, Bunting is fresh of his first World Series title after defeating Welshman Gerwyn Price last weekend.

Award-winning musician who featured on BBC dies aged 98 after dementia battle as family share tributes
MUSICIAN Lorna Spode – who featured on the BBC – has died aged 98.
The award-winning founder of the Lorna Spode Consult passed away after an ongoing battle with dementia.
Her condition had meant she was too weak to stave off a chest infection before she died on January 10.
Over 40 years, the Lorna Spode Consort was crowned BBC Radio Stoke’s Champion Choir and winners of the Blackpool Music Festival.
Lorna is survived by husband Ken, who she married in 1953.
The couple have two children, three grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Daughter Angela Machin told StokeonTrentLive: “She got dementia just when everything had settled down with Covid. She realised she was forgetting things. After the diagnosis she started to decline quite quickly really.
“It’s been hard, but in a way we were ready for it. We’ve been seeing mum every day and we’ve seen her rapid decline. For a couple of weeks before, she didn’t know anyone.”
She went on to say her mum came from a “humble” background but began playing piano aged five and quickly showed her musical talents.
Lorna was self-taught and held music lessons before recruiting her pupils into her choir.
Angela added: “She was a strong lady. She ruled the roost along with my dad, and she could be very opinionated. She was quite strict, but always fair with us. She knew how to get what she wanted out of you!”
Lorna’s funeral will be held on January 30.

FRENCH club Brest sent Micah Richards a shirt with a VERY cheeky nickname on the back.
Their gift came after Richards went viral for revealing his obsession with the Ligue 1 outfit in November.
Micah Richards received a brilliant gift from French side Brest[/caption] Present Kate Abdo presented Richards with his present[/caption]The former Man City ace and CBS colleagues Kate Abdo, Jamie Carragher and Thierry Henry made some hilarious puns on Brest’s name during their Champions League coverage.
And Richards was left squirming as he declared: “You’re trying to get me sacked!”
But the pundit’s backing of Brest in Europe has seen the French side send him a gift.
The present was unwrapped live on air during last night’s broadcast.
It turned out to be an official Brest home jersey, leaving Richards delighted.
And his smile got even wider when he saw the cheeky nickname that had been printed on the back.
Host Abdo first said: “I think it’s fair to say you singlehandedly put Brest on the map this season in the Champions League.
“You’re a big fan of theirs and they’ve wanted to show that they’re a big fan of yours so they’ve sent us a little note.”
The note read: “Dear friends of CBS, many thanks for your close attention to Brest’s performances since the start of the Champions League.
“We all enjoy watching your many laughs on the studio. So we’ve made a special shirt for Micah.
“We could couldn’t resist giving a Stade Brestes shirt to our legend Thierry Henry, to whom we send our warmest greetings.”
Abdo then handed one jersey to Henry, which bore his surname on the back.
Richards then received his shirt, which had a rather cheekier message on the back.
Instead of having his surname, it instead read: “Brest Lover.”
But Richards was delighted and quickly pulled his shirt on.
He then said: “From the CBS family, I want to say thank you for the shirt, I really appreciate it.
“You’re doing an excellent job in the Champions League this season, long may it continue.”
Richards then joked: “What happens when they play Nice?”
It prompted fits of laughter from Abdo and Carragher, but Henry had heard enough and jokingly stormed away from his seat before pretending to read some notes in the corner.
Fans were certainly delighted by the segment.
One said: “I’m sure Micah loves it.”
Another declared: “Best football show in the world by far.”
One noted: “These people are crazy.”
Another added: “This is how a show should be presented, allowed to be yourself, chill and laugh.”
Neighbours star SPLITS from Game Of Thrones girlfriend – as she reveals secret break up
NEIGHBOURS star Guy Pearce has split from Game Of Thrones’ Carice van Houten – with his ex-girlfriend revealing the secret break up.
Dutch actress Carice, 48, confirmed the news on Instagram yesterday, confessing the pair haven’t been a couple for “years.”
Taking to her Stories with a photo with her former partner, 57, she wrote: “I don’t usually engage in discussions about my personal life, but because of a number of conclusions in the media last week regarding my relationship with Guy, I wanted to make something clear.
“He and I are great friends and love each other very much, but we haven’t been a couple for years.”
Carice, who shares a nine-year-old son, Monte, with Guy, concluded: “I am, however, very proud to say we are in a wonderful partnership raising the true love of our lives – our beautiful son and his hamster. The end.”
Guy and Carice began dating in 2015, shortly after the musician ended his 18-year marriage to Kate Mestitz.
The couple welcomed Monte in 2016.
Speculation about their split surfaced earlier this month when Guy referred to Kate as the “greatest love of my life”.
He told The Guardian, “My ex-wife, Kate, was the greatest love of my life, but I’ve moved on from her now, and the greatest love of my life is my child, Monte.
In 2018, Guy opened up about the emotional toll of his divorce from Kate, revealing it had led to suicidal thoughts.
He credited Carice and their son for helping him through a “very challenging period” in his life.
The L.A. Confidential actor paid tribute to his family in the liner notes of his album The Nomad, which he described as a “personal and raw” project inspired by the end of his marriage in 2015.
“Especially a big loving thank you to Carice van Houten and our darling boy Monte, whose arrival in our world came right in the middle of this record. You’ve both changed my life forever and for the better,” he wrote.
He wrote: “Especially a big loving thank you to Carice van Houten and our darling boy Monte, whose arrival in our world came right in the middle of this record. You’ve both changed my life forever and for the better.”
Guy previously told the Herald Sun that his latest album nearly had a very different title.
He said, “The Catharsis” was a name he considered after starting to write the songs in the wake of “crying for hours”.
In 2018, Guy revealed to Andrew Denton that his ex-wife Kate was the one who decided to end their 18-year marriage.
Speaking about the public backlash at the time, Guy said he was heartbroken when fans wrongly labeled him a “b*****d” for assuming he had left Kate for his current partner, Carice.
He clarified that their relationship only began months after his separation.
The Priscilla, Queen of the Desert star admitted that he was blindsided by Kate’s decision to end the marriage but said he still loves and respects his ex-wife.
In 2022, Guy spoke to The Independent about how fatherhood had profoundly impacted his life and emotions.
He said: “After Monte was born, someone said to me, ‘You realise you’re now living with your heart on the outside?’ And it really is true, isn’t it?”
Reflecting on the emotional changes he’s experienced, Guy added, “When I started acting, I knew if I needed to cry that it could come out easily.
“Then after 15 years of therapy, I became a far calmer and more satisfied human being, but trying to cry in a scene became impossible.
“Since having my boy though, I cry at the drop of a hat again…”
Earlier that same year, Guy told Who Magazine about the challenges of becoming a father later in life, saying: “Having a young child at the ripe old age of 53 is a lot, but I am focused on spending all the time I can with him and being the best dad I can be.”
The Melbourne-born star, who first rose to fame on Neighbours, also shared his plans to bring his son to Australia one day.
He said: “He’s seen some Australian animals in the zoo in Amsterdam, but it will be great to show him our wildlife back in Australia.”
Carice, known for her role as Melisandre in Game of Thrones, was previously in a relationship with her Black Book co-star Sebastian Koch.
The pair began dating in 2005 but ended their romance in March 2010.

TOWIE star Bobby Norris has clapped back after suffering sick homophobic abuse in east London.
The ITVBe favourite was travelling through Stratford’s Tube station when a vile individual branded him a “queer c**t” as he travelled to a meeting.
Bobby Norris has clapped back after suffering vile homophobic abuse at a London Tube station[/caption] Bobby, 38, told how his fellow passenger had ‘given me a mouthful’[/caption]Bobby, 38, has previously opened up on the horror homophobia he has faced through the years, and in 2021 told how he was threatened with beheading just for being gay.
And four years on, after admitting he has a “thick skin” over the trolling, he took to Instagram to tell his followers of the fresh slew of abuse.
Wearing a pair of sunglasses, green jumper and chunky coat he spoke direct to the camera as he said: “So this is a message for the lovely man at Stratford station, who just gave me a mouthful and no not like that. The one who decided to call me a queer c**t.
“Thank you for reminding me because it is really easy to forget my sexuality, so it is lovely to be told in such a beautiful way regularly.
“I guess it is just a message out there to prove to all the people out there that say homophobia ain’t a thing anymore because we only have racists now in Britain.
“Homophobia doesn’t exist anymore, it’s like the dinosaurs, so ironically I’m on my way into Soho, you couldn’t make it up.”
The reality TV favourite then added: “I’m going to my meeting in Soho House and I’m going to cry a queer tear into my queer drink and raise the glass to you mate, so have a lovely day.”
NOT OKAY
Bobby rocketed to fame when he joined TOWIE back in 2012.
Yet sadly and unjustly this has meant he has been a target for homophobic slurs.
Previously Bobby told how the swathes of online abuse sent his way are “always homophobic”, as part of Pride Month 2021.
At the time, Bobby spoke openly to OK! Magazine about the trolling and frankly stated: “The online abuse I get is always homophobic. That’s not just having an opinion, people are sending me specific and detailed death threats because of my sexuality.
“I’ve got a thick skin and I can take that and still sleep at night, but if that had been me when I was younger, and for those who aren’t as thick-skinned as me, those people can struggle with that.”
Gemma Collins’ pal added: “No one should be told they’re going to be beheaded or that they’re going to have guns in their chest because of their sexuality.
“There’s a general belief that the only people who get trolled are those in the media or on TV, but that’s not the case.
“I get trolled because of my sexuality, which is something I can do nothing about and I wouldn’t want to. I’m a very proud gay man and I’m proud to be me.
“So much good can come from social media, but I’m so glad it wasn’t around when I was younger.”
Bobby was previously joined by pal Michelle Visage on the TOWIE set as he launched a petition to make online homophobia a criminal offence back in 2019.

ANOTHER channel has left the Freeview platform this week in the latest shake-up of free TV.
Fortunately, it’s not the absolute end for the channel.
The channel specialises in gaming[/caption] GINX TV will continue online via platforms like Twitch[/caption]GINX TV is aimed at video gaming fans and claimed to be the “world’s first and largest gaming TV network” when it launched only six months ago on Freeview.
Bosses at the time said it had the “potential to reach millions of gaming and esports enthusiasts in the UK”.
The channel was available to stream on TVs and boxes connected to the internet or Wi-Fi.
GINX TV sat at 282 on Freeview and was also accessible on Freeview’s successor service, Freely.
But from this week it is no more on the platform.
It was previously available on Sky and years before that Virgin too.
GINX TV is yet to reveal why the channel has been removed from Freeview.
But gaming lovers have shared their dismay at the announcement.
“Gutted GINX is shutting down on freeview!” one user wrote on X.
“Never got a chance to catch it cuz didn’t have an arial plugged into tv- I think if it didn’t need that requirement I would have watched a lot.
“I did watch the twitch streams and will continue to!”
The channel does live on online as normal via platforms like Twitch.
GINX TV has almost 10,000 followers on Twitch and airs there everyday from 4pm.
Freeview also announced a handful of other changes to the service this week.
That includes the replacement for London Live, which closed on Sunday after ten years on air.
London TV takes its place in the same spot, number 8.
Meanwhile, That’s Fabulous MCR has switched to That’s Oldies on number 78.
More channel closures 'inevitable'
An industry expert told The Sun that more channel closures are likely in 2025 and beyond.
“This is inevitable, more broadcasters will cull broadcast/linear TV channels as viewers are flocking to streaming services,” Paolo Pescatore from PP Foresight said.
“The big TV switch off is around the corner, with all programming set to be delivered via the internet.
“Viewers are now spoilt for choice with how and where they watch the TV shows they love across a range of connected devices.
“To respond, broadcasters need to be prepared and work more closely with telecom providers to ensure a seamless experience for users.”

Why Glazers ‘feared a MUTINY from Man Utd stars’ as reason club never visits US city on pre-season tour revealed
MANCHESTER UNITED stars were stopped from ever visiting the Glazer-owned Tampa Bay Buccaneers over fears of a MUTINY, it has been claimed.
The Red Devils have been owned by the Glazer family since an £800million ($984m) leveraged buyout in 2005, leaving the club with a huge level of debt.
The Glazers have owned Man Utd since 2005[/caption] But Man Utd have not been allowed to visit their sister team Tampa Bay Buccaneers[/caption] It has been revealed this is down to owners fearing a ‘mutiny’ among players[/caption] Tampa opened a £57m new training centre in 2022[/caption]The Florida-based American family are also the owner of NFL franchise the Buccaneers.
Man Utd have often toured around the US for pre-season, but have never been near Tampa.
However, it has now been revealed United were stopped from visiting their sister team over fears it would spark a player revolt.
ESPN’s Mark Ogden explained it was believed if players from United saw the training facilities in Tampa they would then rebel due to their own relatively poor facilities.
Ogden told the Football Reporters podcast: “I was told a story by somebody who worked at United, and it’s the elephant in the room that we haven’t really discussed: It’s the Glazers. It’s the Glazer family and their ownership of the club.
“I asked this person, I said, when United go to America, why do they never go to Tampa?
“Arsenal will do a link-up with the LA Rams or with whoever [owner Stan] Kroenke’s team are. Liverpool did it with FSG in Boston, they spent a lot of time there.
“United have never gone anywhere near Tampa, where the Tampa Bay Buccaneers that the Glazers own in the US (are).
“I was told it’s quite simply because the owners didn’t want the United squad to see how good the Tampa Bay facilities were.
“They didn’t want them to see the training ground because the training ground at Tampa is meant to be state-of-the-art.
“The stadium is a top stadium. The Glazers have put a lot of money into the facility at Tampa and if the players had gone to Tampa Bay Buccaneers’ training ground and realised what they had and what United don’t have, there might have been a mutiny at the club.”
Tampa opened a state-of-the-art £57million ($70m) training facility in 2022.
Man Utd’s own Carrington training complex is finally undergoing some much-needed TLC of its own in a £50m project.
But this only came after the issue was highlighted by superstar Cristiano Ronaldo, claiming the club had not evolved since he first left to join Real Madrid in 2009.
In his infamous 2022 bombshell interview with Piers Morgan, he said: “The progress was zero. Since Sir Alex left, I saw no evolution in the club. Nothing had changed.
“He [Ferguson] knows better than anybody that the club is not on the path they deserve to be. He knows. Everyone knows.
“The people who don’t see that… it’s because they don’t want to see it. They are blind.
“I think the fans should know the truth. I want the best for the club. This is why I came to Manchester United.
“But you have some things inside that don’t help [us] reach the top level as City, Liverpool and even now Arsenal.
“A club with this dimension should be top of the tree, in my opinion, and they are not, unfortunately.”
The architectural team responsible for the new Wembley Stadium and Lusail Stadium in Qatar, Foster + Partners, is in charge of making the new facilities.
Over the summer, minority owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe said: “We want to create a world-class environment for our teams to win.
“When we conducted a thorough review of the Carrington training facilities and met with our men’s first team players, it was clear the standards had fallen below some of our peers.
“This project will ensure Manchester United’s training ground is once more renovated to the highest standards.”
However, Ratcliffe and his lieutenants now running the football operations at the club drew criticism as they decided to prioritise the men’s team by moving them into the newly-built women’s training facilities.
The women’s team were in turn moved into temporary buildings despite the £10m facilities being purposely built for them and the academy teams.
Figures revealed last year that the much-maligned Glazers had invested just £45m ($55m) of their own money into the club since their takeover two decades prior.
Meanwhile, 2021 figures revealed that more than £1BILLION ($1.23bn) had been lost by the club through dividends payments, interest payments and debt repayments.
And it was not until the arrival of the Ineos group that plans to upgrade the club’s stadium were finally put in place, with the plan currently torn between an Old Trafford upgrade or a new build.
What we know about the 'new' Old Trafford
MANCHESTER UNITED plan to build a new stadium rather than redevelop Old Trafford.
The decision was made after a number of fact-finding missions to other stadiums including the Bernabeu and Nou Camp.
The cost of the project is expected to be a staggering £2billion.
A capacity of 100,000 is expected.
It is felt that a club of United’s standing should have a new state-of-the-art facility.
The new stadium will be built on land adjacent to the Red Devils’ current home.
United are looking to not only build a stadium but regenerate the area of Trafford where the ground will stand.
There had been plans to KEEP Old Trafford rather than demolish it, and use it as a scaled down second venue.
However, it’s looking increasing likely that it will in fact be entirely demolished.
The club consulted with 30,000 fans about what to do and believe there is roughly a 50-50 split on staying or moving.
The club have appointed the architects Foster + Partners to come up with a “masterplan”. The company were behind Wembley Stadium.
Old Trafford has been United’s home since 1910.
The target is for completion by 2030.
