Man City vs Chelsea LIVE SCORE: Premier League champions look to bounce back from midweek collapse – latest updates
MANCHESTER CITY are hosting Chelsea in a blockbuster Premier League clash to cap off Saturday’s action.
Pep Guardiola’s men will be looking to bounce back from their midweek collapse at PSG after his side lost 4-2 despite going 2-0 up.
Chelsea put an end to their five-game winless run in the Premier League earlier this week by beating Wolves 3-1 at Stamford Bridge.
Both sides look to be in a battle for the top four this season, and a win for either club would certainly give them the upper hand in the race for the precious spots.

The most valuable trading cards including Pokemon and Star Wars – do you have one worth £4.32million?
If you – or your kids – have a pile of trading cards lying around the house, you could be sitting on a goldmine.
Whether it’s your child’s obsession with Pokémon cards or some old Star Wars cards you’ve got in the loft, there are cards out there that are worth a small fortune.
![Card expert Harry Reynolds, founder of the London Card show, https://ace.media/lookbooks/OpQv/preview?redirect=%2Fdashboard%2Flookbooks](https://www.thesun.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2025/01/LCS_Headshots_01jpg-JS965787756.jpg?strip=all&w=640)
![Card expert Harry Reynolds, founder of the London Card show, https://ace.media/lookbooks/OpQv/preview?redirect=%2Fdashboard%2Flookbooks](https://www.thesun.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2025/01/LCS_Nov24_SAT_02-11-24_375jpg-JS965787767.jpg?strip=all&w=640)
Trading card expert Harry Reynolds, the founder of The London Card Show, told The Sun: “Many people are sitting on hidden treasures without even realising it.
Trading cards that were once playthings or casual collectables can turn out to be surprisingly valuable, whether they come from kids’ recent collections or adults’ long-forgotten childhood stashes.”
A Pokémon card sold in 2022 for a staggering £4.325 million.
“The 1998 Pikachu Illustrator Card is a true holy grail of the Pokémon trading card world, and only a handful exist,” Harry explained.
Even higher than that is the £10.3 million fetched for a baseball card in 2022. “
The 1952 Topps Mickey Mantle Rookie Card is iconic in sports cards and is the highest recorded sale for a trading card to date.”
Harry explained that collectors are drawn to cards like these because of nostalgia, exclusivity, and historical significance.
“We’ve had some incredibly rare cards presented at the London Card Show, including a Wolverine card that was one of a kind from Topps’ first Chrome collection for Marvel Comics.
Experts say the card is worth more than £100,000 and they’ve already received offers from high-profile collectors including renowned DJ Steve Aoki,” he explained.
What type of trading cards are worth selling?
The most obvious are Pokémon, Yu-Gi-Oh! And Magic The Gathering, which are all currently popular, but Harry said there are a number of less well-known cards that might be hiding in your house.
“Early Star Wars cards (like the 1977 Topps series) or Garbage Pail Kids cards are beloved by collectors and can fetch surprising sums, especially first-series cards,” he said.
“Marvel and DC Comic Card Sets from the 1990s, like 1992 Marvel Masterpieces, are also gaining popularity among superhero fans.”
How do you know if you have valuable cards in your collection?
“Even if you don’t uncover a million-dollar card, a stash of old or modern trading cards can be a great way to earn extra money.
Sorting through collections with a keen eye can help you separate the gems from the commons, and you might be surprised by how much value is hiding in plain sight!” said Harry.
“Look for key indicators like set symbols, edition stamps, and condition and use websites like eBay (looking at completed listings), TCGplayer, or PSA to research recent sales.”
The key is rarity, cultural connection, and being in pristine condition, according to Harry.
“The most significant factor is rarity, coming from limited production, special editions, or cards tied to specific events. But rarity alone isn’t enough – demand plays a critical role.
A card must be tied to something or someone people care about, such as a beloved athlete, a legendary Pokémon, or an iconic anime character,” he explained.
Condition is another critical factor – you can get your cards graded by companies like PSA or in the UK Ace Grading (check out their websites for more details).
“This assigns a card a numerical score based on its physical state. A pristine card graded as a “10 Gem Mint” can fetch a lot more than the same card with visible wear,” Harry explained.
“For high-value cards, grading them professionally can increase their worth.”
That’s not to say that a card needs to be in mint condition – realistically many cards will have been well loved.
“They don’t always have to be flawless to hold value. Some well-loved cards can still command a premium.
For example, a lower-graded 1952 Topps Mickey Mantle card or a moderately worn Black Lotus from Magic: The Gathering can still fetch impressive prices.
Collectors may still treasure less-than-perfect cards for sentimental or playable reasons, especially in cases where a pristine version is unattainable,” said Harry.
How should you look after your cards?
To preserve or increase the value of your collection, or to look after any new cards for a future investment.
Harry had these tips for how to store and handle them: “Use sleeves and toploaders, and consider magnetic cases or one-touch holders.
“Avoid touching them with bare hands and store in a cool, dry place. Finally, get cards graded for investment and protection.”
Where should you sell your cards?
Harry said that the right platform or method depends on the type of cards you’re selling, their value, and your target audience.
eBay
“eBay allows you to reach a massive audience, and their platform has categories specifically for trading cards and collectables.
Use high-quality photos, and detailed descriptions, and set a reasonable starting bid or reserve price,” advised Harry.
Goldin Auctions
If you’re selling historic or exceptionally valuable cards, Harry said Goldin is a top-tier choice. “They’ve handled many record-breaking sales in the trading card world.”
The London Card Show
The next event takes place at Sandown Racecourse in Surrey on 8th-9th Feb for collectors and dealers.
“Vending or attending with a portfolio of cards can result in great sales opportunities. Goldin auctions will be accepting submissions on-site with zero commission fees,” said Harry.
The most valuable trading cards
Pokémon Cards
“First edition base set cards from 1999 are the crown jewels.
Even commons and uncommons in good condition can sell for decent money, while rare holographics like Charizard, Blastoise, or Venusaur can reach thousands of dollars,” explained Harry.
“Look for full-art cards, and secret rares (cards with numbers like “150/149”).
“Sets like Evolving Skies, Crown Zenith, or older series like XY Evolutions contain some valuable gems.”
Harry says that shadowless variants – a print run without a drop shadow around the artwork – and first-edition stamps increase value significantly.
Charizard cards remain one of the most sought-after Pokémon.
“Even modern versions, like the Charizard VMAX Rainbow Rare, can fetch hundreds.”
Also look out for promotional cards.
“Those given out at events or in special boxes, such as Pikachu Illustrator promos, can be worth money.”
After the 1998 Pikachu Illustrator Card, these are the Pokémon cards that command the highest prices:
Charizard, 1st Edition Shadowless Base Set (1999) – £344,377

“It was only awarded to winners of a Japanese family tournament, making it a highly rare and sentimental piece,” explained Harry.
Magic: The Gathering Cards
“Cards from the original Alpha, Beta, and Unlimited sets are highly sought after. Look for power cards like Black Lotus, Mox Pearl, and Time Walk, even in played condition,” advised Harry.
“Modern sets can have valuable cards, especially mythic rares or cards that are key to competitive decks.
“Look for foil versions and cards from limited print runs like Secret Lairs.”
1. Black Lotus (Alpha Set, 1993) – £504,000

5. Mox Sapphire (Alpha Set, 1993) – £29,000–£41,000

This card is one of the Mox jewels. “It provided fast mana, an essential strategy in early MTG gameplay,” explained Harry.
Yu-Gi-Oh! Cards
Look for first editions, particularly from early sets like Legend of Blue-Eyes White Dragon.
Cards like the original Dark Magician or Blue-Eyes White Dragon hold nostalgic and monetary value, especially if they’re first editions,” explained Harry.
1. Tournament Black Luster Soldier (1999) – £1.6 million
![Yu-Gi-Oh! Tournament Black Luster Soldier, https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/225760651808](https://www.thesun.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2025/01/s-l1200__1_jpg-JS965787794.jpg?strip=all&w=702)

Wolves 0 Arsenal 1: Riccardo Calafiori secures huge win for Gunners after hugely controversial Lewis-Skelly red card
THE 10 men of Arsenal overcame the 12, and then 11, of Wolves to keep their title challenge alive with a Riccardo Calafiori winner.
That is how it must feel for Mikel Arteta, his players, every Gooner and most unbiased observers after referee Michael Oliver made one of the worst decisions ever seen.
![Riccardo Calafiori of Arsenal celebrates scoring a goal.](https://www.thesun.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2025/01/riccardo-calafiori-arsenal-celebrates-scoring-966584428.jpg?strip=all&w=960)
![Arsenal's Myles Lewis-Skelly fouling a Wolverhampton Wanderers player.](https://www.thesun.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2025/01/arsenals-myles-lewis-skelly-fouls-966569835.jpg?strip=all&w=960)
Oliver confirmed his status as Arsenal’s least favourite official when he sent off Myles Lewis-Skelly in the first half.
Against all common sense,Oliver ruled the teenager’s cynical trip on Matt Doherty 30 yards from the Wolves goal to be violent conduct.
Somehow VAR let the call stand.
But Arteta’s team channelled their fury. And shortly after Oliver made it 10 v 10 by sending Wolves midfielder Joao Gomes off for a second yellow card, Calafiori scored what could turn out to be a vital goal.
The Italian had come on at half time to replace Lewis-Skelly at left back so it felt like justice of a sort that he turned the ball in neatly after Nelson Semedo’s poor header from a Gabriel Martinelli cross.
But the Arsenal fans who abused Oliver and accused him of making the game all about him will nor forget his latest intervention.
Oliver and Arsenal have history.
On this same ground in February 2022, the referee booked Gabriel Martinelli twice in quick succession for blocking a throw-in and then immediately committing a foul.
Then earlier in this campaign, he showed Leandro Trossard a second yellow card against Manchester City for kicking the ball away.
But this was arguably the worst decision of them all and could have proved so costly for the Gunners.
![Wolves vs. Arsenal match stats graphic.](https://www.thesun.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2025/01/the-sun-22-23-match-stats-61afe564-b267-48c3-afd9-6d99c008d266.png?strip=all&w=960)

Arteta had enough problems anyway.
He welcomed back William Saliba and Ethan Nwaneri for their first starts since injury, but found himself without captain Martin Odegaard and Mikel Merino.
The Spaniard had picked up an unspecified knock while Odegaard had been sent back to London because of illness after travelling to the West Midlands with the team.
Wolves started nervously at the back, almost presenting Arsenal with chances to score.
Yet it was the home side who threatened first.
Captain Nelson Semedo’s charge down the right and cross deserved better than Pablo Sarabia volleying the ball over the crossbar.
![Soccer players in a match.](https://www.thesun.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2025/01/NINTCHDBPICT000966569197.jpg?strip=all&w=960)

After that it was all Arsenal.
Leandro Trossard sent in tempting crosses for Kai Havertz twice. The German sent his first header wide but seemed to have got the second right, angling it back across Jose Sa.
But the Wolves goalkeeper kept the ball out with his right leg, probably more by luck than judgement.
Nwaneri wasted a good sight of goal from a free kick 20 yards out but little more happened until Oliver’s moment of madness.
As Wolves tried to break after a poor Declan Rice corner, Lewis-Skelly brought down Matt Doherty with a cynical trip about 30 yards out..
Yellow card, all day long.
![Arsenal players argue with a referee after a red card.](https://www.thesun.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2025/01/arsenals-myles-lewis-skelly-reacts-966570878.jpg?strip=all&w=960)

Not in Oliver’s world. Out came the red, and Arsenal went ballistic.
There was no way Lewis-Skelly had denied a goalscoring opportunity, even without taking into account it was Doherty who was fouled.
Yet the PGMOL’s explanation that the young Arsenal star wasa guilty of serious foul play was simply nonsense. The challenge was not high, nor was their excessive force or serious danger to Doherty.
VAR Darren England should have told Oliver to think again. But England was the man guilty of the worst error with the technology in Premier League history, when he and his team failed to correct an offside call against Liverpool’s Luis Diaz in the game against Tottenham in September 2023.
Jurrien Timber was booked for his protests and the away fans let Oliver know exactly what they thought of him. You could only have sympathy.
Arteta sent on Riccardo Calafiori for Nwaneri at half time to rebalance his team.
![Soccer player Joao Gomes receives a red card.](https://www.thesun.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2025/01/2025-wolverhampton-wanderers-joao-gomes-966583365.jpg?strip=all&w=960)

The Arsenal supporters were soon singing, “Michael Oliver, it’s all about you”.
Their team were equally defiant, pinning Wolves back after the break and Rice stung Sa’s hands with a rasping shot.
At the other end, Hwang Hee-Chan, who had replaced the injured Jorgen Strand Larsen in the first half, tested David Raya with an effort from distance.
Then Sarabia could only divert a cross wide. It became end to end stuff.
Havertz headed a Rice free kick over the bar, then Raya made an acrobatic stop from Matheus Cunha.
And from the resulting corner, alleged Arsenal target Cunha could only shoot wide when the ball fell to him just outside the six-yard box.
Then things got interesting. Joao Gomes fouled Timber unnecessarily in the Arsenal penalty area and was shown a second yellow card. 10 v 10, Game very much on.
The inevitable soon happened.
Martinelli curled in a cross and Semedo’s header dropped to Calafiori, who turned it in on the half volley with the kind of poise you don’t expect from a defender.
The Arsenal players ran to celebrate with Arteta, his backroom team and the substitutes, all of them knowing how important a goal it was.
It felt like Wolves had blown their chance, and so it proved.
Rayan Ait-Nouri burst through on the break but Raya came out to make a decent save.
The Arsenal goalkeeper dealt easily with a Cunha effort.
And the Gunners pulled off an against-the-odds, against-the-referee victory that could yet inspire them to overhaul leaders Liverpool.

Inside the ‘Jacuzzi of Death’ where anything that DARES enter will be killed & left to disintegrate in toxic waters
A TERRIFYING salty circle of tragedy known as the “Jacuzzi of Death” is filled with tragic creatures that have been killed in its toxic waters.
This horrifying spot in the Gulf of Mexico is known to kill everything that goes inside it.

The dead zone is a 100-foot-wide “bottomless” pocket filled with toxic substances.
This concoction of methane, excessively salty water, and hydrogen sulphide means nearly everything that crosses its path is killed.
The murderous underwater lake sits nearly 3,000 feet below the Gulf of Mexico.
Its briny waters are so dense the death trap has been dragged to the bottom of the gulf and cannot mix with the rest of the ocean.
This death pool is four times more salty than the ocean waters around it, which ensures these bodies never mix.
Terrifying images reveal how these toxic waters slowly disintegrate the unfortunate crabs and fish that end up in the death zone.
This dangerous spot was found by scientists 10 years ago when they realized creatures would enter never to be seen again.
Erik Cordes of Temple University who discovered the site 3,300ft below the Gulf’s surface told Seeker.com: “It was one of the most amazing things in the deep sea.
“You go down into the bottom of the ocean and you are looking at a lake or a river flowing.
“It feels like you are not on this world.”
Other scientists pointed out shocking scenes of “pickled” crabs who died in this treacherous death pool, according to The LA Times.
A marine chemist, Scott Wankel, said: “These larger organisms really don’t like to be in this fluid — or maybe they just come here to die.”
The terrifying zone was dubbed a “jacuzzi” as the temperature of this pool is warmer than the waters around it.
Surprisingly only one living creature can survive in these toxic waters.
Mussels can withstand these horrifying conditions and this “jacuzzi” is lined with them.
Colonies of bacteria have also been able to survive in this terrifying underwater spot.

Much to the delight of telly fans, The Masked Singer is back in 2025.
Twelve celebrities have been hidden behind intricate costumes, with their identities concealed.
Sadly, not all of this year’s whacky and wonderful characters can make it to the end of the show, as there can only be one winner.
Here’s who has been unmasked so far:
Tattoo – despite Davina McCall saying “you sound the same” after this character was unmasked, none of the judges guessed it was 80s singer Carol Decker, whose hit China In Your Hand was a No1 hit for five weeks
Toad In The Hole – a massive diva strop saw the character storm off the stage after the judges voted them off. They later returned to be unmasked as singer Macy Gray
Pegasus – the mythical horse was revealed to be Prue Leith, with judge Jonathan Ross correctly guessing her identity
Spag Bol – this character was first to be unmasked and was none other than Good Morning Britain host Kate Garraway.
Plus there was one extra unmasking this season, with Giant Joel – a caricature of host Joel Dommett – unveiled as double-double Olympic champion Sir Mo Farah.
Pufferfish followed this up with a rendition of Cyndi Lauper’s classic “Girls Just Wanna Have Fun”.
Other names speculated include Netflix star Jenna Ortega, The X Factor legend Dannii Minogue and West End performer Samantha Barks.
Fans will only discover the character’s true identity once the mask comes off.
The Masked Singer airs on ITV1 and ITVX.
