MILLIONS are missing out on hidden supermarket freebies from shops like Tesco, M&S and Lidl.
Many shoppers use loyalty cards to get money off products, but they are often the key to getting free items too.
With the click of a button you could be on your way to filling your basket with loads of free goods.
Below we explain what supermarkets are giving away samples and goodies for customers.
BOOTS
Everyone knows and loves Boots‘ Advantage Card for helping shoppers to save money on makeup and beauty.
But did you know the pharmacy has a parents club which can help you score freebies for your little one and earn extra points.
Recently, one eagle-eyed shopper managed to nab a free packet of Pampers nappies and a baby cook book.
The offers for free items will usually displayed in the Boots Advantage card app or website.
Go into the “Shop” section when you log onto your device, and you should see a section that reads “View Offers”.
This should then show shoppers any free items that can claim.
The Boots Parenting Club is free and exclusive to UK Boots Advantage Card members who are either pregnant or have a child under five years old.
You can sign up by visiting www.boots.com/shopping/advantage-card/parenting-club.
M&S
M&S often gives its Sparks Card holders free items.
It too has a parenting club which last week gave out free biscuits to those signed up to the service for Mother’s Day.
And its not only free biscuits that you can by registering for the club.
Families can save on essential items including clothing for babies, bedding, as well as maternity and nursing bras.
Once customers join the parent hood and sign the “Parent Pledge”, they get access to two initial offers.
One of them is a year-long 10% discount on baby grows – for example, a five-pack of pure cotton sleepsuits, usually costing £15.50, will be £13.95.
They can also enjoy a free slice of cake, pastry or a fruit pot, every week when you buy a hot drink at a M&S cafe.
M&S is not the only store that offers deals and discounts for parents.
And you don’t need to be a parent to get freebies at M&S.
Shoppers signed up for the Sparks membership can get a free item on their birthday, all they need to do is put their date of birth into the app when they join.
TESCO
Tesco Clubcard holders should always double check recipients before tossing them to ensure they don’t miss out on claiming free goods.
More often than not you need to be a Clubcard member to see these freebies on your receipts.
Tesco Clubcard is a free loyalty program that allows members to earn points for money off shopping at Tesco.
As well as reeving free samples, shoppers can also get coupons which help you save on the shop.
You can find these coupons in your Tesco app or on your Clubcard statement.
These offers are based on your shopping habits so they will vary from person to person.
For example, a coupon may give you money off extra points of money off when you buy a certain product.
Some can be used both in-store and online.
While others may only be used either online or in-store, scanned at the till, or along with your Clubcard.
One shopper managed to claim a free packet of Pampers nappies by looking at their Tesco receipt.
Speaking at the time, the mum said: “It pays to always select receipt atTesco, you never know what free offer would come your way”.
LIDL
The Lidl Plus app is a free loyalty program that offers discounts and personalised coupons.
But it can also give you access to freebies, such as free bakery items.
Members will receive a free coupon to claim a free doughnut on their birthday.
All you need to do its register your birthday when you initially sign up.
You have seven days to claim the free item starting from when it was issued.
They will be accessible in its store bathrooms for staff and customers.
The service is available in around 70% of its 1000 plus store and the initiative will be rolled out to all sites by the end of May.
In the past, Sainsbury’s has also given vouchers to its Nectar Card holders to pick up free items such as fabric softener.
The vouchers usually print off at the till along with your receipt, so it is always worth keeping an eye out to ensure your don’t miss them.
Meanwhile, Asda is trialling a vending machine that givers away free samples to its loyalty customers.
The first product given away was a milkshake made by Muller.
An Asda spokesperson previously said “We are trialling a digitalsampling machineat our Pilsworth store so that customers can try newly launched products from our branded partners simply by scanning their Asda Rewards ID.“
How to save on your supermarket shop
THERE are plenty of ways to save on your grocery shop.
You can look out for yellow or red stickers on products, which show when they’ve been reduced.
If the food is fresh, you’ll have to eat it quickly or freeze it for another time.
Making a list should also save you money, as you’ll be less likely to make any rash purchases when you get to the supermarket.
Going own brand can be one easy way to save hundreds of pounds a year on your food bills too.
This means ditching “finest” or “luxury” products and instead going for “own” or value” type of lines.
Plenty of supermarkets run wonky veg and fruit schemes where you can get cheap prices if they’re misshapen or imperfect.
For example, Lidl runs its Waste Not scheme, offering boxes of 5kg of fruit and vegetables for just £1.50.
If you’re on a low income and a parent, you may be able to get up to £442 a year in Healthy Start vouchers to use at the supermarket too.
Plus, many councils offer supermarket vouchers as part of the Household Support Fund.
1 week agoLatest NewsComments Off on Sharon & Phil’s relationship in EastEnders is the most toxic in soap – reuniting would be the final nail in his coffin
[/boxout]
Neither of them could go through with it though and Phil made her his Mrs Mitchell at last.
Had enough of love triangles yet? The bosses didn’t think so and there would be no happy ending.
A few years later Sharon began an affair with Phil’s employee Keanu Taylor which led to divorce for Sharon and Phil.
But Phil’s vendetta against Keanu culminated in a catastrophic confrontation, and Sharon’s beloved son Denny was drowned.
WAKE UP
At the wake, Sharon screamed that she wanted to rip Phil’s heart out but. And I am honestly not making this up – a brief reunion ensued.
However, Sharon eventually left Phil, who later married Kat Slater, and Sharon found romance with another Mitchell man.
By the way, how the writers thought that viewers would buy into a Sharon and Teddy love match – I don’t know!
But now the toxic couple are both single again. Cue a love triangle anyone?
During this year’s 40th anniversary special, a depressed and tortured Phil planned to take his own life, but was luckily saved.
And he took it upon himself to reveal his true feelings of undying love to Sharon – not a wise move.
Sharon explained she loved him too – but of course she would – she had just been dumped by Teddy and Phil was convenient.
She’s latching onto Phil until something better comes along. History proves it – right?
BROTHERLY LOVE
However, Phil was floored when she confessed that she had slept with his brother Grant again while he was unwell in hospital.
And a visibly upset Phil shouted at her to get out – and you know what – I agree with him. Haven’t they done enough to each other?
Come on writers give us a happy ending for both of them and not more of the same old storyline over and over again.
After the doom and gloom of the last few months viewers deserve it.
But no doubt Sharon will get her claws back into Phil I just hope it doesn’t push his recovery back.
Because, after his emotional and heart breaking mental health story – it wouldn’t take much to break him.
For if there is anything more certain in soap land – Sharon won’t stick around with Phil.

A DAD and his 10-year-old daughter were killed in a horror caravan fire as family share heartbreaking tributes.
Lee Baker and daughter Esme, who cops believe are the victims, were killed in a fire at a popular holiday park in Lincolnshire yesterday.
Esme, 10, and her father were tragically killed in a caravan fireLee Baker was at Golden Beach Holiday Park with his daughterTerry HarrisCops said an investigation is ongoing[/caption]
Emergency Services rushed to Golden Beach Holiday Park, in Ingoldmells,Lincolnshire, at about 3:53am yesterday, cops said.
The father and daughter tragically died in the blaze.
A member of Lee and Esme’s family said: “Lee and Esme were excited to be spending the first weekend of the holidays together.
“We are all utterly devastated at what’s happened.
“This loss is incomprehensible at the moment, and we ask for people to give us space to process this utterly heartbreaking loss.”
Lincolnshire police have confirmed that an investigation into the tragedy is ongoing.
A fundraiser has been created in memory of the pair who were said to be like “two peas in a pod.”
The page, set up by Paige Richmond, says: “Unfortunately on the morning of the April 5, a fire broke out taking the lives of both father Lee and daughter Esme, just ten years old at their holiday home within Ingoldmells, Skegness.
“Lee and Esme were two peas in a pod, both happy go-lucky people who loved life.
“They were and forever remain adored by Genette, his oldest daughter Paige and anyone who had the pleasure of meeting them.
“A charity night is to be later announced to celebrate the life of these two individuals sadly lost far too early.
“Information to be announced at a later date, to which anyone is welcome All contributions are being paid to Lee and Esme’s family.”
Today Lincolnshire Police released a statement oficially naming the tragic family.
The Force said: “We are now in a position to name the people who sadly died in the caravan fire following the incident at the Golden Beach holiday park yesterday (5 April).
“Our investigations alongside those of our Lincolnshire Fire & Rescue colleagues continued well into the night to establish the cause of the blaze, and these investigations remain on-going today.
“We are still awaiting formal identification of the two people who tragically lost their lives in this incident, which could take some time.
“However, we do believe the victims to be 48-year-old father, Lee Baker and his 10-year-old daughter Esme Baker, both from the Nottingham area.
Senior Investigating Officer, Det Insp Lee Nixon said they are “close” to finding out what had happened.
He said: “We believe we might be close to arriving at a working hypothesis.
“We are working hard to validate the facts available to us to be able to provide answers for the family and loved ones of those who were very tragically taken by this fire.
“Yet the evident intensity of the fire has made this task incredibly challenging.
To add to that, Dan Moss, area manager for prevention and protection at Lincolnshire Fire and Rescue, said: “Our thoughts and deepest condolences are with the family at this time.
“Our Fire Investigation Team is working with colleagues from Lincolnshire Police, and a full investigation into the cause of the fire is ongoing.
“Once investigations are complete, local fire crews and our community fire safety team will be on hand to talk to people in the area and address any fire safety concerns they may have, at what will be an upsetting time.”
“Lincolnshire Police offer our sincerest condolences to the family and friends of Lee and Esme.
“Our thoughts are with them at this incredibly sad time.

A MARRIED At First Sight star has addressed comments on her “new boyfriend” after her relationship breakdown on the E4 series.
The Walsall lass – who had a picture-perfect wedding with her former spouse at the start of last year’s instalment – took to her comments section after her latest Instagram post sparked a frenzy.
e4A Married At First star has broken her silence after a fan gushed over her ‘finding loce again’[/caption]
Instagram/@sacharjonesIt came after the MAFS 2024 star posted a series of pictures celebrating her dad Bryn’s birthday[/caption]
Instagram/@sacharjonesSacha Jones was forced to set the record straight after fans spotted a mystery man, right, on the images[/caption]
Sacha Jones, 29, broke her silence after posting a series of images to mark her dad’s birthday.
Yet while E4 fans will recognise the duo on the snaps, a mystery male is seen at the dining table at Willow, in Sutton Coldfield, too.
One fan – who saw Sacha break down on-screen after her renewal vows with Ross, before the dad of one dumped her – put two and two together to link the blonde influencer with the male diner.
The fan told Sacha, whose relationship breakdown with Manchester-based Ross came two weeks after filming wrapped: “Aw glad you found love x”
Sacha – who has turned to Christianity following her failed MAFS experience – then replied: “Took me a good while to work out what you was on about.
“You mean my little brother? Haha. Only man in my life that isn’t family is still only Jesus currently hahahaa x”
After Sacha had set the record straight, another fan posted: “Happy Birthday Papa Sacha.”
A second gushed: “Aww your parents are so sweet x”
Sacha then took to her caption to write: “Dad birthday photo dump.
“Thank you for the most wonderful evening @willowrestaurants food, service, drinks, decor, presentation, EVERYTHING is on point here.”
Yet all was not as it seemed, with the aesthetics practitioner stating she had: “Married our Lord and SaviourJesus Christ.”
Flashing a silver band, she added: “Now guys this is a purity ring and I just wanted to explain that to you.
Mafs couples that have stood the test of time
Loved-up Tayah Victoria and Adam Aveling of series six fame had the first Mafs baby.
The pair couldn’t keep their hands off each other on the programme and quickly found their feet in the outside world, moving into Adam’s Doncaster home.
Just 18 months after meeting, the couple welcomed their daughter Beau.
Season five couple Michelle Walder and Owen Jenkins also managed to make their marriage work away from the cameras and had their first child in December.
Teacher Michelle, 29, has no regrets about taking part in the experiment. She told us: “I just feel very lucky and thankful that it has worked out – and excited for everything to come.”
Michelle and Owen were both sick of dating apps when they applied in 2019.
Owen recalled: “I had been out for some drinks with a friend after work.
“While he was out for a cigarette I was scrolling on Instagram waiting for him to come back in.
“The MAFS advert was the last thing I saw, and I joked, ‘Wouldn’t it be funny if I signed up?’
“A few beers later when I was back at home I sent in the application, and the rest is history.”
Another couple to make Mafs UK history is Zoe Clifton and Jenna Robinson.
Despite a slight rocky start, where they clashed over Jenna’s vegan lifestyle, the show’s first same sex pairing are still going strong.
They even have a successful podcast together called Life With a Pod.
Jenna shed light on being involved in the show earlier this year when she told us: “We’re not legally married, and I never felt like we were. I definitely feel the process makes you take the relationship a lot more seriously and having the help of the experts… if you can survive that process it sets a firm foundation for a long-lasting relationship.”
“A purity ring just represents your commitment to God and vowing to stay abstinent until marriage.
“They’re on your hand as a reminder of your vow to God if you ever get tempted.”
OnMAFS UK,Sacha became famous for herabstinence, as she told Ross she wasn’t planning to be intimate with him until their relationship was well established.
UNHAPPY ENDING
Sacha married Ross at the start of MAFS’ 2024 series when sparks flew and everything seemed perfect between the pair.
The couple then went from strength to strength in their marriage, with them dubbed as one of the strongest couples early on in the series.
But not everything progressed as well as it could for the couple when cracks began to show and Ross’ temper began to flare.
Sacha was keen to move to Manchester to be with Ross, with her even open to leaving her life in Birmingham behind.
A source at the time told MailOnline: “Sacha had an incredible experience filming Married At First Sight UK and she truly thought her marriage with Ross would work.
“She moved to Manchester to be with him but after just two weeks he went cold and ended their romance for good.”
And it seems that Ross dumped Sacha to move on with a new flame, whom he met earlier this year.
Ross, who was the first deaf contestant on MAFS UK, and his new girl Magdalena started dating as early as June last year, it is believed.

It is increasing to £118.75.
Universal Credit
Universal Credit is paid to those who are not currently in work or to top up the income of low earners.
It was designed to combine several of the old “legacy benefits” into a single monthly payment.
The higher work allowance (no housing amount) for someone claiming Universal Credit with one or more dependent children or limited capability for work will rise from £673 to £684
The lower work allowance for someone claiming Universal Credit with one or more dependent children or limited capability for work will rise from £404 to £411

[/boxout]
The two domes, which measure between six and eight metres in diameter and just over four metres in height, were installed after the smaller camping pods were initially built.
Pub landlord John McMennum, 76, praised the “attraction” and said it should be allowed to stay.
He added: “People travelling through will often stop for a coffee and they will take photographs of them to show their family.”
“They get used by yoga people and it is an ideal place for activities.
“I don’t know why the parish council have rejected it because it’s technically not in their boundary.”
John’s partner Isobel Brand, 66, said: “You only have to look out to the horizon to see all of the windmills and you realise the domes don’t look bad.
“They are interesting for the area and they bring something a little bit different.”
A worker in the village, who did not wish to be named, slammed the council for being “awkward”.
They said: “The domes do not bother me.
“I understand if people say they might not be in keeping with the area but you can hardly see them from where the houses are.
“But those against it are those who won’t want to see any change or improvement to the village.
“There’s rumours of a bypass being built through the village so if that happens then the domes will be the least of our worries.”
Steve Reed, Durham County Council’s planning manager, said: “We fully recognise the contribution The 68 Café makes to our county and economy and as such were pleased to approve the business’ plans for a holiday let and ten glamping pods.
“However in this instance, officers were unable to support the retention of the domes which, after careful consideration, were felt to be harmful to the character, quality and distinctiveness of the local landscape.
“We await the inspector’s decision on the appeal and are happy to advise the café in relation to any proposals it might bring forward in the future, regardless of the outcome.”

The other teenager – aged 16 – was taken to hospital with stab injuries and was subsequently arrested on suspicion of murder.
His injuries were assessed as non-life-changing, and he was later discharged from hospital.
He was then taken to custody, where he remains.
A third teenager – aged 16 – had left the scene and an urgent investigation commenced to locate him.
He was arrested in the early hours of Sunday, 6 April and taken into custody, where he also remains.
Detective Chief Inspector Alex Gammampila, whose team is leading the investigation, said:“This is an awful incident in which a teenager has lost his life. The thoughts of everyone in the Met remain with Keiron’s family and loved ones as they begin to come to terms with their tragic loss.
“Detectives have worked around the clock to follow every possible available line of enquiry and I’m pleased that we have made two arrests as part of our early enquiries.
“While we are working hard to understand the exact circumstances, we are not looking for anyone else in connection with this incident at this stage.
“I’d like to appeal directly to anyone who was in the area between 1pm and 1.20pm on Saturday and witnessed the incident.
“Our team are also keen to speak to anyone who might have any other information that might assist us.
“Keiron had his whole life ahead of him and any information might prove vital in achieving justice on behalf of his family.”

“Recruitment remains a key focus, and we must ensure that we make smart purchases within our financial means.

TOWIE’s Elliott Wright is going to be a dad for the fifth time.
The former ITVBe reality star announced his wife Sadie is expecting again.
Elliott announced the news with a snap of his sons Billy and John holding a snap of a scanInstagramThis will be Elliott and wife Sadie’s third child together, and Elliott’s fifth overall[/caption]
Elliott, 45, announced the news with a snap of his son Billy, six, and youngest John, two, holding a series of scan pictures.
The restaurateur is already dad to son Elliott Jr, 17, and daughter Olivia, 15, from a previous relationship, and he has had Billy and John with Sadie.
Sadie and Elliott wrote in their shared post: “Our family is expanding. Another baby to love and adore, summer 25. Family of 7.”
The pair were soon inundated with wellwishes.
“Omg!!!!! Congratulations this is beautiful,” wrote pal Denise Van Outen.
“Congratulations xx” added Love Island star Georgia Harrison.
And Elliott’s cousins, Josh and Natalya Wright – who are siblings of Towie star Mark – shared love hearts on the post.
Elliott and Sadie wed in 2017 and documented their nuptials on an ITVBe reality special.
The wedding hit the headlines when Elliott’s cousin Mark and his wife Michelle Keegan were unable to attend due to work commitments.
The pair didn’t allow the absences to take the shine of their big day, however, with Elliott saying he felt like “the luckiest man alive” marrying Sadie.
They welcomed Billy, their first child together, in January 2019.
Sadly, the couple suffered a devastating miscarriage in 2021, saying at the time that their hearts were “broken into a million little pieces.”
The tragic loss also came on the heels of Sadie losing her dad.
Fortunately, the pair managed to heal their heartache when they welcomed a second boy together, as John was born in February 2023.
The couple are based out in Marbella, where Elliott runs the restaurant Olivia’s La Cala, named after his daughter.
