Despite the tycoon, 77, introducing the no-nookie rule in 2019 after two stars did the business in the show’s Hampstead mansion, he’s got no interest in dishing out punishments.
“I can’t have any input into it, it’s just human nature,” Lord Sugar said of Amber-Rose Badrudin and Keir Shave’s antics in the new series, which airs its first episode tonight.

This year marks two decades since Lord Sugar first appeared on The Apprentice, in February 2005, then alongside business associates Nick Hewer and Margaret Mountford.
Particularly popular with younger viewers, last year’s show launch saw an impressive 6.6million tune in.
To keep the youth demographic hooked, Lord Sugar and the team have embraced technology and AI-based tasks, as well as traditional Apprentice favourites, the nine items challenge and the tour challenge.
‘I might go on and on’
The tycoon said: “We have to include that because it’s what our younger audiences want to see.
“The production people are a bunch of very clever people, and they come up with these tasks that include technology, and the first person they have to explain it to is me.
“Before the task, I have to understand it, and I have to make out that I understand it deeply.
“So I do spend quite a bit of time to go through it to make sure I ask the right questions.
“We have to have the up-to-date stuff and, currently, people are talking about AI.
“We’re introducing more AI and technology-related challenges because that’s what business is now.
“It’s not just door-to-door sales.
“It’s e-commerce, digital branding and AI-driven strategy.
“I must say, I think it’s working.
“Our numbers on BBC One are strong with the younger viewers because they can relate to this new tech-driven world.”

Lord Sugar on hosting The Apprentice
Keeping up with the times means Amstrad owner Lord Sugar has no worries about whether he’ll be asked by the BBC to return for a 20th-anniversary series next year, which is yet to be confirmed, or even beyond.
Nor has he considered heading into retirement as he approaches his eighties.
“I enjoy doing this, finding young people and putting them in businesses and starting from scratch with them every year,” he explained.
“It’s not been commissioned for more yet, but there’s a good chance.
“I might go on and on until the funeral director has to stop it, you never know.
“I’m certainly not going to go and smell the roses and start gardening and all that stuff.”
He’s hoping that the big celebration on the BBC will include a celebrity version, which he teased viewers could expect to be confirmed before the current series is over.
“There has been talk of it,” he confirmed.
“They’re quite fun, we all do it for charity — and I’m quite open about who takes part, as long as the production people don’t choose Boris Johnson.”
Lord Sugar remains unfazed when it comes to the healthy competition of other business shows cropping up on the BBC and big streaming networks such as Netflix and Amazon.
He says he enjoys watching Dragons’ Den, which also airs on BBC One, though that doesn’t mean he views all the dragons as equal competition.
He said: “I watch it all the time — and Shark Tank, which runs in America — and I do like it.

“Peter Jones and Deborah Meaden, they’re the old legends of the show and have done very well.
“He’s a very good talker and comes across a bit suave and debonair, but I’m not sure what his business is.”
Lord Sugar also appears to have settled any bad blood that existed with Donald Trump, who he has clashed with on social media a number of times throughout his telly career.
The American President formerly presented the US version of The Apprentice, which first aired across the pond in 2004, before being replaced as host by Arnold Schwarzenegger in 2017.
Nonetheless, he’s got no plans to go into business with the POTUS.
Lord Sugar explained: “He will tell you that I am in business with him, because he has a little shareholding in The Apprentice format — so he always reminds people, ‘Lord Sugar works for me’.
“But would I go into business with him?
“I don’t think that opportunity would arise.”
One business deal Lord Sugar is keen to seal involves plans for a biopic about his life, after The Sun exclusively revealed talks had begun on the project last year.
Not doing anything by halves, he already has high hopes about who would be cast to play him.
He joked: “I’d like to see George Clooney as me, I like him.
“It has gone nowhere, and I’ve got a funny feeling it’s because production companies say, ‘Sugar? Nah. Boring’.
“I’m just hoping there’s a writer out there who gets it, and sees the brilliance of my life story, because certainly there’s enough stuff over the last two decades that they can make something great.”
Last year, sources confirmed Lord Sugar had even considered a drama inspired by his life story, in a move away from conventional, fly-on-the-wall documentaries by the likes of Molly-Mae Hague.
The Apprentice has faced criticism in recent years for it’s Love Island-style candidates, who viewers slammed as overly glamorous, suggesting some were using their appearance on the show for social media clout.
And this year, a number of those vying for the businessman’s cash already have social media followings, which they use to drive business back to the product or service they sell.
However, Lord Sugar respects that, while it’s a far cry from how he started his own business six decades ago, the social media market is one of ample opportunities.
He said “When it comes to influencers, very few . . . are successful.
“But some have become relatively successful and then turned into suppliers of their own products.
“It’s different to renting a shop in Kensington High Street but, nevertheless, they still have something to sell, and it doesn’t matter if they’re doing that behind a desk or sitting in front of a screen.”
Lord Sugar appears more open-minded than ever going into this series, which features top-level sports stars, a a tutoring firm owner, a mug maker and a hair transplant consultant.
Nonetheless, he knows what he’s looking for in his next winner.
And he won’t be holding back when it comes to firing those who don’t make the cut.
“I like it when someone makes something, produces something or sells a product,” he said.
“I don’t like all this, ‘I’m bringing out a website’, because I’m into manufacturing and selling.

“Negotiating and selling is a great interest to me.”
There will be some multiple firings in the coming series — which is not just for the sake of getting rid of them and getting the numbers down, it’s for a very, very good reason.
“This year, I spice it up a bit more, put a bit more pressure on them when things go wrong.
“I’m very sympathetic with the people at week one.
“They’ve been through a very stringent audition process.
“By the time it’s week six, I’ve got no sympathy for them.
“If you haven’t got it by then, I get a little annoyed.
“It gets steamy in places, let’s put it that way.”
BARONESS Karren Brady has been by Lord Sugar’s side for almost fifteen years, so there’s no surprise she’s adamant that if the boss leaves, she’s out the door beside him.
The businesswoman, 55, admitted she won’t look back and will walk away from the programme should the Amstrad owner decide it’s time to retire.
She exclusively revealed: “I only do this show because of Alan – he’s been my friend for 20 years, and I do it because I love working with him, and I love working with Tim.
“I love the fact that Alan still loves the show, but I have no ambition to be on TV and certainly no ambitions to replace him, there is no show without him as far as I’m concerned.
“I’ve always said when Alan leaves, I leave and that’s it.”
Eighteen fresh faces will take to the boardroom tomorrow night as the annual showdown to be fired or hired by Lord Sugar kickstarts with a task in the Austrian Alps.
But Karren and her co-star Tim, 47, who is a former winner of the BBC One show, admit that just because the format is now familiar, doesn’t mean the candidates have improved in getting to grips with it.
Often, Karren has to remove herself from the room to have a giggle, before dropping Tim and Lord Sugar a text to reveal whatever failures are going on under her watchful eye.
She explained: “We also have a WhatsApp group which when we’re out on task, we can send voice notes to Alan saying what they have produced is poor, and give the reasons why and who is responsible.
“Tim and I get on really well so, after the tasks, I will read his notes and he reads mine, and we have a good chat and a laugh.
“He’ll say, ‘You’ll never guess what’s happened’ and I’ll say, ‘If you think that’s bad, listen to this!’ That’s sort of how it goes.
“But outwardly we remain really neutral because it’s not my £250,000 on the line and Lord Sugar is the one in business… He doesn’t want to go into business with me!”

Bosses are understood to be aiming sky-high to secure A-list names after past contestants included Karren herself as well as Piers Morgan and Cheryl, in her only ever reality TV appearance as a contestant since finding fame.
But there is one name – bigger than the rest – that both Karren and Tim would love to sign up to the BBC programme.
In a surprise admission, the pair confessed it is President Donald Trump then want to see in the boardroom but as a contestant.
Trump famously hosted the US version of the programme and walked in Lord Alan Sugar‘s shoes for the show before taking up office in the White House.
But could the Beeb manage to tempt Trump to the other side of the boardroom table?
Speaking to The Sun, when asked who she would want on the cast, without hesitation, Karren said: “Donald Trump! Donald Trump!”
Her admission prompted an outburst of laughter from Tim as he said: “That would be hilarious!”
Karren then revealed she would love to see Sugar get the chance to fire Trump on the programme.
The business mogul said: “It would just be to give Lord Sugar the chance to fire him.

“I think the reason why the show is successful is the winner genuinely goes into business with Lord Sugar.
“It’s not a certificate that they win, or ‘I’ve passed the Alan Sugar business school’. I mean, they get a quarter million pounds and he’s in business with them.
“So the candidates are there all because they have investable businesses – all at various different levels.
“Some might be an idea, some may be well-established, some may be halfway between that, but they all have an investable idea and it’s down to him who he wants to go into business with, who he wants to support, who he wants to help.”

Reports in Spain suggest his latest love interest is Claudia Bavel, who is said to make around £17,000 a month from OnlyFans.

We look into the prize pot, format starting with the overall structure of the FNCS Majors and how to qualify for each.
FNCS 2025 prize pot
The FNCS 2025 is bringing a staggering prize pool of $8million this year, distributed across all Major events in each region and the Global Championship.
That’s up by almost half a million from last year’s edition of Fortnite’s top esports tournament.
Is FNCS Trios or Duos in 2025?
This year, the FNCS is being played in Trios, a change from last year’s Duos format.
Trios means that there are 99 players on the Battle Royale map at the start of a match, playing in 33 teams of 3 players each.
FNCS 2025 format: Major Play-Ins and Group Stage
Each FNCS Major consists of Play-In Stage, Group Stage, Last Chance Qualifier, and the Major Finals.
During the Play-In Stage, players who have reached Division 1 in the Divisional Cups of their respective region can team up in trios to compete for a spot in the Group Stage.
Play-Ins take place over two days, during which teams play 10 matches each day with a cumulative leaderboard
The top trios on the leaderboard advance to the Group Stage.
For the Europe (EU) and North America Central (NAC) regions, that’s the top 99 teams, and for all other regions – the top 66 trios.
During the Group Stage, teams are split into groups of 33 teams, that’s three groups in EU and NAC, and two groups for the other regions.
Five matches are played in each group, and the team that earns the Victory Royale in each group match qualifies instantly for the Major Finals.
Then, the best-performing teams in each group also qualify, the top 5 in EU and NAC, and the top 10 in other regions.
FNCS 2025 Last Chance Qualifiers
All players who have not qualified for the Major Finals by this stage, will get a last chance to earn a spot at the FNCS Major.
The Last Chance Qualifier is open to all players from Divisions 1, 2, and 3, and the best teams will enter the Last Chance Lobby.
The Victory Royale winners of each Last Chance Lobby match qualify for the Major Finals, and there will be three matches per region.
The Last Chance Qualifier for Major 1 will take place on February 12 and 13, 2025.
FNCS 2025 Major Finals
Each Major ends with the Major Finals over two days, with six matches played each day, with the top trio in each region crowned as the Major champions.
The Major champions win a share of the FNCS prize pool and will be able to wield the Blade of Champions pickaxe in-game during the next season.

The Major Finals or Major one are scheduled for February 15 and 16, 2025.

Here’s all the dates for each of the three majors of FNCS 2025.
The majors will be followed by the Fortnite Global Championship, the exact schedule for which will be announced later this year.

How to watch the FNCS 2025
While the Divisional Cups are not broadcast, Fortnite’s official channels will be showing FNCS 2025 matches.
Each region is sending its top teams from each FNCS Major to the Fortnite Global Championship 2025, which will take place in the second half of this year.
After Major 1, Europe and North America Central are sending 2 trios each.
The rest of the regions, North America West, Brazil, Asia, Middle East, and Oceania, are sending one team, their Major champions.
Here’s a full breakdown of the number of teams that will qualify from each region after all three Majors conclude:
Europe: 11 teams
North America Central: 7 teams
North America West: 3 teams
Brazil: 3 teams
Asia: 3 teams
Middle East: 3 teams
Oceania: 3 teams
If a trio that has already qualified finishes in a qualifying spot again, then the next team on the Major leaderboard that hasn’t already qualified will earn the spot.
How to qualify for an FNCS Major in 2025
Qualifying for the FNCS 2025 starts with the FNCS Trial, which you and your teammates can unlock by reaching Gold rank or higher in Battle Royale, Zero Build, and Reloaded Ranked modes.
The FNCS Trial is a single Trios tournament session, which took place on December 7, 2024, for Season 1.
The top 200 trios from the FNCS Trial are then placed in FNCS Division 1, the next 600 go into FNCS Division 2, and the rest of the teams – in FNCS Division 3.
The Divison 3 Cup is also open again to any trios that have reached Gold in Ranked.
Each Division Cup consists of 2 days of play, and teams have to complete 10 matches per day.
The top teams from Divisions 3 and 2 climb up in the division above, while Division 1 teams compete for a spot in the Division 1 Cup Finals which gives cash prizes.
The Divisional Cups for this season ended on January 25, 2025, and players who have reached Division 1 are eligible for the FNCS Major Play-In Stage, which starts today, January 29, 2025.
In future seasons, there will be no FNCS Trial, and players will start based on their best placement in Divisional Cups across the seasons.
New Gold or higher Ranked players will then have to start in Division 3 and win their way up.
The dates for the next Divisional Cups are yet to be announced.

It comes after fans have been left horrified as the trailer for the fourth film revealed a huge character is killed off.
Lovers of the franchise have questioned “why would you spoil the movie” after spotting the spoiler.
Long-term fans were left ecstatic when it was revealed that actress Renee Zellweger would be getting back into character once more for a brand new movie titled Mad About The Boy.
But after the trailer dropped for Helen Fielding’s fourth book this week, fans are devastated to learn that Mark Darcy tragically dies.
And this leaves Bridget a widower who then battles motherhood alone.
The poignant beginning of the trailer sees Bridget being called a “widow,” which quickly points to Mark’s fate.
Fans quickly took to social media to share their sadness, as one person wrote: “What do you MEAN there is a fourth Bridget Jones movie releasing soon, and they KILLED MR. DARCY?!”
A second penned: “I was not prepared to cry over the death of Mr. Darcy in the new Bridget Jones movie; IS MARK DARCY DEAD???”
Another echoed: “My heart sank seeing that Mr. Darcy died in the new Bridget Jones trailer. Why couldn’t they have their happily ever after?”
That said, Bridget does seem happy about Leo Woodall’s character coming into her life – a handsome 29-year-old named Roxster.
Renee will lock lips with Netflix heart-throb Leo, who will play her love interest in the flick.
A source said: “Bridget is going to be a real cougar in the new film and she’ll be seen starting a relationship with a much younger character played by Leo.
“He was thrilled about landing the part and will have a major role as her love interest in Mad About The Boy.
“Bridget is a single mum trying to navigate a new world of social media and dating apps after Mark’s death, so she’s definitely going to end up in a pickle.
“Hugh Grant is back as Daniel Cleaver, so there will be a love triangle between Bridget’s older flame and this much younger new man.”
In Helen Fielding’s 1996 novel Bridget Jones’s Diary, the title character lists the type of boyfriend she does not want — but doesn’t mention anything about age.
The film version, released in 2001, made more than £222million at the box office.
