I’m a tech expert and Amazon’s 43-inch Fire TV is my top pick for smaller rooms – and it’s on sale

AMAZON is a great spot for finding smart TVs that deliver quality without costing a fortune, and there’s one that stands out for smaller spaces.

The 43-inch Fire TV 4-Series is now priced at under £250, making it a fantastic choice for anyone wanting premium features on a budget.

Amazon’s Fire TVs are some of the best quality budget buys on the market

Amazon Fire TV 43-inch 4-Series, £429.99 £249.99

Amazon’s Fire TVs consistently hit the sweet spot between performance and affordability.

I’ve owned the 32-inch Fire TV 2-series for years, and it’s been nothing short of brilliant, reliable, and easy to use, and it’s still going strong.

Now I’m looking to upgrade, the 43-inch Fire TV 4-series is my next pick.

It’s currently ranked number five on Amazon’s best-selling TVs list, which isn’t surprising given the hefty price drop from £429.99 to £249.99.

I don’t have a massive living space, so those cinema-sized screens are a no-go for me.

But for anyone with smaller rooms, TVs in the 32 to 43-inch range are spot on.

That’s why Amazon’s TVs are my top pick – they pack in all the premium features you’d want but for a fraction of the price.

The Fire TV 4-series is a brilliant all-rounder, combining smart streaming options with Alexa built right in.

Its ultra-slim bezel keeps the focus on the screen, and with 4K Ultra HD and Dolby Digital Plus, it boosts on-screen colours and sharpens details so everything pops.

In short, your favourite shows and films will look fantastic on this TV.

The Alexa Voice Remote Enhanced is a great addition for anyone who loves convenience.

Just like the standard Alexa remote I use, it lets you search, pause, play, and even check the weather or footie scores; simply press the Alexa button and ask away.

There’s plenty to watch, too, with big-name apps like Netflix, Prime Video, and Disney+ ready to go (just make sure you’ve got your subscriptions sorted).

It’s a top choice for anyone wanting a quality upgrade without spending a fortune.

Don’t just take my word for it, this TV has glowing 5-star reviews from happy customers.

With a solid 4.3-star rating on Amazon, it’s clear this TV is a crowd-pleaser.

One happy customer shared, “Fantastic TV, so easy to set up and a fantastic picture and sound on it.”

Another said, “Absolutely fantastic, it’s lightweight, easy to set up and the picture quality is excellent.”

Mum, 42, left paralysed from the neck down after Turkey surgery says ‘I was desperate’

A WOMAN was left paralysed from the neck down after getting weight loss surgery in Turkey.

Weighing 28 stone and barely able to walk, Danielle Peeble, 42, was “desperate” to get the surgery so she could “push her baby grandson around the park”.

But after flying back to the UK, she was warned by doctors she may never walk again.

Danielle travelled to Turkey for a gastric sleeve operation in the summer 2023, choosing to get the surgery abroad due to long waits for weight loss surgery on the NHS.

She told Manchester Evening News: “I was absolutely desperate. I put on a lot of weight over the years.

“It’s a long wait on the NHS for surgery and I appreciate that, no one could really tell me how long that was going to be.

“I was trying to improve myself, and be a better mum and a better nana as quickly as possible as my grandson was about to be born.

“I was doing what I thought was best for us.”

The surgery cost Danielle £2,995 and went smoothly, which was a relief as she’d been feeling nervous to do it.

But the gran knew something was wrong the moment she arrived back home.

“I just couldn’t eat, I couldn’t keep anything down, I could barely have any liquid,” Danielle said.

“That carried on for weeks and months, I just couldn’t tolerate anything.”

Danielle emailed back and forth with medics at the Turkish hospital, but in December 2023 they told her to go to A&E.

There, the gran was told she was severely dehydrated and placed on a drip.

But she was back in hospital in January 2024 after feeling her legs go numb and collapsing.

Danielle said: “I’d never had weight loss surgery, so I didn’t know if this was just part of it.

Though the surgery went smoothly, Danielle suffered side effects that left her with a severe nutrient deficiency[/caption]

“But then I collapsed and when I came round, I was paralysed from the neck down and couldn’t walk.”

Danielle was diagnosed with nutritional neuropathy, a rare and severe vitamin deficiency that resulted in severe nerve damage, causing paralysis.

She couldn’t walk or move but her feet would be racked with agonising pain at the slightest touch.

“I don’t think I quite realised that I was paralysed, it takes a doctor to tell you even though you can’t walk,” Danielle revealed.

What are the risks of getting surgery abroad?

IT'S important to do your research if you're thinking about having cosmetic surgery abroad.

It can cost less than in the UK, but you need to weigh up potential savings against the potential risks.

Safety standards in different countries may not be as high.

No surgery is risk-free. Complications can happen after surgery in the UK or abroad.

If you have complications after an operation in the UK, the surgeon is responsible for providing follow-up treatment.

Overseas clinics may not provide follow-up treatment, or they may not provide it to the same standard as in the UK.

Also, they may not have a healthcare professional in the UK you can visit if you have any problems.

“I don’t think I understood the severity of how poorly I was. Then I was told I had very severe nerve damage and might not walk again.

“The surgical side of my procedure had all been fine, it was how my body dealt with it.

“You don’t hear that you can get nutritional neuropathy from not eating. You’re not told about these side effects because they’re so rare.

“It really upset me, I had such mum guilt. The surgery had totally backfired.”

‘Inspiring’

Danielle spent five months under the care of medics at the Salford Royal Hospital, unsure if she would ever recover.

But – slowly but surely – she began to regain sensation in her limbs.

With the help of physiotherapists, support workers and dietitians, the gran was able to make small but steady gains with movement.

She was able to lift herself up to give her son a cuddle, and has now progressed to being able to walk.

Danielle said she still has “a long way to go”, but she’s been able to accomplish more than she dreamed she could just a few months ago.

She recently visited the hospital again, walking unaided to say a big thank you to Dr Dan Whittam, a consultant in the neurology department who was heavily involved in her care.

A heartwarming video shows the pair sharing an emotional hug as they reunite.

“To get where I am now, being a mum, a wife and a nanna it’s the best thing. I owe Salford Royal a lot of gratitude,” she said.

Speaking after being reunited with Danielle at Salford Royal, Dr Whittam, said: “It’s amazing to see Danielle, I almost didn’t recognise her.

“To see her walking without even a crutch really exceeded my expectations and her determination has been inspiring.”

“To hear how she’s back enjoying life and feeling so positive, that’s incredible.”

Kyle Walker was almost reduced to tears during ‘sad’ Man City exit but ‘couldn’t say no’ to AC Milan amid family drama

KYLE WALKER admits he was almost in tears after his “sad” Manchester City exit.

But the England star insists he “could not say no” to AC Milan amid his family drama back home.

Walker completed a stunning loan move to the Italian side in January after seven and a half years at City.

The 34-year-old won six Premier League titles, two FA Cups and a Champions League in 319 games under Pep Guardiola.

And Walker has since gone on to star 11 times for new side Milan, including yesterday’s 1-1 derby draw with Inter in the Coppa Italia semis.

The right-back completed his San Siro switch amid family drama involving estranged wife Annie Kilner and former mistress Lauryn Goodman.

He shares four children with Annie, while having also fathered two more with Lauryn.

And Walker, who was recently seen barking orders at teammate Joao Felix, has now revealed that he came close to crying while saying his goodbyes to City staff and players.

He told BBC Sounds’ The Kyle Walker Podcast: “I said to the team manager…the player liaison officer, I said that I wanted to say goodbye to the lads in the canteen before I left when I knew the deal was complete.

“And he actually texted the whole building! So, there were 150 people there and I had to say goodbye, which was a little bit nerve-wracking.

“It was sad because as much as people might have this persona about me or whatever, I did speak to completely everyone in that building from the cleaners, to the cooks, to the kit men, to the physios.

“There was the lady there, Emma, that would be behind the counter and serve you food, or get your drinks and whatever.

“And even when I looked over at her, I wanted to cry because it was like every day I’ve said, ‘Morning’ to you and given you a cuddle, and all of a sudden now I’m not going to see you anymore, and you don’t think about that when the process is happening, but then when you come to say goodbye, it’s hard.”

Walker also lifted the lid on his reasons for moving to Milan.

He added: “In football, I think when certain things come, or certain opportunities come, you have to take it.

“And for me to experience a different league, for me to experience a different culture, for me to play for a club like AC Milan… I don’t think you can turn that down.

“And when you know they want you, or you want to go there, and you want to have a new challenge, I think there are certain clubs in the world that you kind of can’t say no to.

“I think with him (Pep) being a top player, playing for a top club and managing these top players, [he knows] people are going to have different desires or ambitions to go and do certain things with their career, and I just think for me, it just came at the right time. It came at the right time. It was the right club.

“And I just felt, you know what, I need to go and try something different because I don’t want to live after football saying I wish I’d have just explored something different and come to a club like this. I think it was the right fit for me.”
