All Stars bombshell Danielle Sellers sends villa into chaos as she STEALS ‘closed off’ boy – leaving girl in tears

NEW BOMBSHELL Danielle Sellers ruffled Ekin-Su’s feathers after she stole Curtis on tonight’s show.

It’s a Love Island first as the two new bombshells – Sammy Root and Danielle – go straight to the Hideaway and invite two Islanders to join them for the first ever Love Island sleepover.

The Islanders received a text and they find out Elma and Curtis have been invited, but they have no idea who they have been invited by.

Ekin-Su was left fuming that the mystery bombshell had picked Curtis – despite them being “closed off”.

Curtis was left speechless, while Elma was thrilled at the prospect of new man entering the villa.

Despite Luca and the girls trying to comfort her, Ekin-Su appeared heartbroken that Curtis would be spending the night with another woman.

After arriving at the Hideaway, Curtis made it clear that he is ‘closed off’.

After hitting it off and having a flirty chat, Elma and Sammy bagged themselves the main bed, and Curtis and Danielle slept outside.

The next morning, Danielle showed Curtis her rings on her hands in bed, which later rubbed Ekin up the wrong way.

They all headed back to the main villa and spilled the beans on their night away.

Elma insisted Curtis was a gent and respectful to Ekin, while Curtis admitted he and Danielle have a “lot of things in common” and he plans on getting to know her more.

But Ekin was keen to clear the air with Danielle after she picked her man – but the newbie informed the her that Curtis didn’t cross any boundaries.

Curtis later explained to Ekin that he made it clear that he was ‘closed off’ and said there was so “spooning or hugging”.

Ekin then brought up Elma’s comment about Curtis and Danielle “holding hands” in the morning when she was showing him her rings.

But the brunette beauty was still hurt and ended up walking off.

Curtis later admitted he “can’t have a relationship without trust” and feels like they’ve gone two steps back.

Ekin insisted she’s only behaving like that because she’s vulnerable and “falling for him” and was unhappy that didn’t reassure her.

Despite being committed to Ekin, Curtis said he’ll still talk to Danielle, leaving her baffled.

Later Danielle and Curtis have a chat and admitted he was surprised by Ekin’s reaction.

A fearful Ekin spotted the pair chatting and broke down in tears, leaving Ronnie to comfort her.

Where does this leave Curtis and Ekin?

Before she entered the villa, Danielle revealed that Curtis is in her top three.

Danielle said: “I like Scott, Luca and Curtis so I’ll be pulling them for chats.”

But she admitted things could get a little bit frosty between her and fiery actress Ekin-Su and said: “I already know Gabby and Elma and it’s going to be nice to meet Ekin-Su, though I’m not sure how she’ll react when I chat to Curtis?!”

She went on to say: “I was a lot younger going in the first time, I was 21! I entered during Casa Amor and lots of the boys were in strong couples! 8 years on, I’m older and know what I want, so I’m going to just go for it!

“I feel like I’m more confident in myself now, I’m more mature and I’ve grown up a lot since last time so I’ve learnt a lot.”

Love Island All Stars 2025 official line-up

Love Island All Stars is back on TV for season 2.

Here we take you through the line-up of all the Islanders who are in the villa so far.

New Volvo XC90 subtly remixes the family favourite… it’s still an unflappable package of lofty luxury & high-brow beauty

WHEN Volvo asked XC90 owners what more they wanted from their next car the response said it all.

Silence.

Silver Volvo SUV driving on a road.
The new car’s rear and side profile remain the same

So, aside from a little nip ’n’ tuck, and a tickle in the damping department, the Swedes have been brave enough not to fix what wasn’t broken.

The latest XC90 is therefore the same reassuringly unflappable package of lofty luxury and high-brow Euro aesthetics it’s always been.

This svelte seven-seat SUV gets a tastefully modernised front end, with an intricate new chrome grille and sleek, slicker headlamps that channel its Polestar relatives.

But the rear and side profile remain the same.

The cabin has taken a few design tweaks and trim upgrades by way of materials – notably better and more expansive use of real textured wood and fabric on the doors, dash and central console.

But the best bit is the bigger 11in touchscreen tablet that’s front and centre.

Glorious waft

Still Google-powered (and Apple CarPlay-friendly), the operating system has been vastly improved and is now a pleasure to both look at and use.

There’s good news for current XC90 owners, too, as that same software will soon be rolled out over-the-air to compatible cars. Gratis.

You’ve got two power choices: the 2-litre petrol mild hybrid (badged B5) and the plug-in hybrid (badged T8)

The B5 engine has been modified – not for power but for subtle efficiency gains.

The steel-sprung suspension feels more refined, if not quite up to the glorious waft that the T8’s adjustable air suspension delivers.

But I’d still go for the B5 and save myself £9k.

The T8 plug-in hybrid has a monster 455hp and rockets from 0-62mph in just 5.4 seconds.

Great for the person holding the wheel, less so for the six passengers.

The 44-mile electric range isn’t class-leading either. So unless you must glide through town as a part-time EV, save that £9k and get the B5.

To conclude, then.

The updated Volvo XC90 provides an important alternative to the pure electric EX90 at a time when many people are feeling less confident of making the change to go petrol free.

With all the ingredients that originally made this cavernous 4×4 a hit, plus a few added bonuses, this subtlest of remixes keeps the family favourite favourably familiar in these unpredictable times.

KEY FACTS: VOLVO XC90

  • Price: £63,790
  • Engine: 2-litre petrol mild hybrid
  • Power: 250hp, 360Nm
  • 0-62mph: 7.7 secs
  • Top speed: 112mph

I thought my boyfriend was an Uber driver & barely recognised my own daughter after car crash made me lose my memory

A MUM has been dubbed the real life ’50 first dates’ after a brain injury led her to forget her partner and barely recognise her own daughter.

Nesh Pillay, 33, suffered a brain injury when she was just nine after she was in a car crash in South Africa.

As a result, she suffered from other concussions throughout her life, with the effects getting worse every time.

In 2022, Nesh, who lives in Toronto, Canada, had another bump on the head and when she woke up, suffered a bout of severe memory loss, even forgetting that she had a partner, Johannes Jakope, and six-year-old daughter.

“I reportedly was very confused and didn’t know what was going on,” Nesh explained to Newsweek.

“Then over the course of a couple of hours, I lost my memory. By that evening I didn’t know who my partner was. I didn’t know much about my daughter. That’s so difficult.”

Nesh was taken to the hospital as she was in a constant state of panic about where she was and who she was with.

In fact, when she woke up, she thought her partner, now husband, was her Uber driver.

Her partner regularly filmed their interactions as evidence for her memory loss as some doctors failed to believe it was from a brain injury.

In one clip, she asked him, “Are you the Uber?” “I’m your boyfriend,” he responded.

“Oh, no, my mom’s going to be so mad,” she says, adding that she “can’t have a boyfriend.”

During her three-day stay in the hospital, the five psychiatrists who assessed her confirmed the issue was not psychological and she was finally approved to see a neurologist.

“He said the thing that I think a lot of doctors are afraid to say which is, ‘I don’t know,’” she recalled to Newsweek. “It was nice to hear that because at least I wasn’t being gaslit.”

As a result, family members had to be with Nesh all the time – even while she showered – as she would forget what she was doing and where she was.

Nesh has since been in and out of hospitals and sharing her recovery on TikTok.

Despite forgetting much of her previous life, Nesh and Johannes are still together as he helps nurse her back to health and got married last year.

“It was a really difficult thing to get through,” she said to Caters, noting the strain her injuries have had on their relationship.

“[Jakope] has been so patient with me throughout my entire recovery,” Pillay added.

“His constant love and support throughout this time have culminated in me falling in love with him again, and our engagement.”

The pair have now also welcomed their second child into the world.

During her memory loss, Nesh says while she didn’t recognise her daughter as hers, her maternal instinct never left.

She said: “Whenever my memory would reset once a minute, I often found myself in a panic over the wellbeing of a child.”

“The fear for her wellbeing was often so intense I couldn’t sleep at night.”

Her journey on TikTok has filled people with hope, and now Nesh has her own documentary, 50k First Dates, coming out on Amazon Prime to show her full journey on February 11.

Man City land horror Champions League playoff tie as Arsenal, Liverpool and Aston Villa learn their next opponents

THE brand new Champions League league phase is over and we now know who will be facing who in the next round.

All four of the English clubs have managed to advance from the first round with Arsenal, Liverpool and Aston Villa booking their place in the last 16 without the need for a play

A look at what the league table finish means for who faces who

Manchester City, however, will have a huge challenge as they will face on one of Real Madrid or Bayern Munich in a play-off round in February to try and earn a spot in the last 16 proper.

Pep Guardiola‘s side will learn which of those two teams they face in a draw taking place on January 31.

The Cityzens narrowly squeezed into the play-offs with a 3-1 comeback win over Club Brugge that pushed them into 22nd

Arsenal, Liverpool and Villa will all have to wait to find out who advances to the last 16 from the play-off round to discover their opponents for their clashes.

But until then, the final league table allows us to look at the four potential opponents each side would face.

Arsenal’s 3rd placed finish means they will face one of AC Milan, Juventus, PSV or Feyenoord in a tricky tie..

While Liverpool’s first placed finish hasn’t done them a huge favour as they could still take on PSG, Benfica, AS Monaco or Brest in the last 16.

For Villa, they snuck into the top eight by the skin of their teeth in 8th place.

Their lower finish means they will face higher-seeded sides, and in this instance that will be one of Atalanta, Borussia Dortmund, Sporting Lisbon or Club Brugge.

Man City know their route too, which means if they do advance past Bayern or Real Madrid in the play-offs, then they will face either Atletico Madrid or Bayer Leverkusen in the last 16.

The overly complicated format, also known as the Swiss model, has thrown up some other potential heavyweight clashes across the competition.

Scottish giants Celtic will face whoever of Real Madrid and Bayern Munich isn’t drawn to face Man City in a horror tie.

Who faces who?

Here's a look at the English club's ties...

British business bosses say Reeves’ focus on growth doesn’t fix problems caused by her Budget

THE Chancellor’s focus on future growth doesn’t fix problems caused by her Budget, businesses insist.

Rachel Reeves yesterday tried to swat away accusations she had talked down the economy, with upbeat claims she would kickstart growth.

However companies want the hike in employer National Insurance delayed — which they say would be a quicker route to reviving growth.

The Chancellor’s Plan for Change included a rehash of ideas including Heathrow expansion, a UK-style Silicon Valley between Oxford and Cambridge and confirmation of nine new reservoirs — announced in December by OFWAT.

The British Chambers Of Commerce and other lobby groups welcomed the revival of large infrastructure projects amid hopes they will create a ripple effect across the supply chain.

But business leaders warned the boost could take years, while firms are already cutting jobs and investment after the Budget’s £25billion tax raid.

Stephen Phipson, boss of Make UK, highlighted the “clear contradiction between implementing laudable measures such as planning reform and infrastructure investment whilst . . . applying a handbrake through measures which will inevitably reduce investment and freeze recruitment”.

Tom Beahon, co-founder of the UK sportswear brand Castore, said talks on longer-term projects were unlikely to immediately solve headaches created by the Budget.

He said: “I’m an eternal optimist.

“We are an international business and proudly British, but we are being disadvantaged against global peers because of the higher increase in costs.

“The UK is not the optimal place to invest our capital”.

Helena Hudson, founder of the Real Eating Company, which has eight cafes across the South East, reckoned: “Small business is the backbone of the UK’s private sector but I feel we’re being overlooked.

“We do not have broad shoulders to absorb the tax burden coming our way and this is a big concern.”

Rami Baitieh, chief executive of Morrisons, said the supermarket chain is facing £75million in extra costs and declared: “The Budget is very unhelpful.”

Meanwhile Tesco yesterday announced 400 job cuts, days after Sainsbury’s axed 3,000 and Morrisons made 200 redundancies.

Next’s chief executive, Lord Wolfson of Aspley Guise, has also used his position to support amendments to the planned National Insurance increase in the House of Lords.

Simon Gleeson, partner at business advisers Blick Rothenberg, said “A pause and rethink on Employers NIC changes then would filter down to family incomes, job creation and upskilling of future generations seeking employment and opportunities such as job apprenticeships and entry-level graduate roles.”

LLOYDS TO CLOSE 136 BRANCHES

LLOYDS BANKING GROUP is to shut another 136 branches in a bitter blow for the high street.

The closures, taking place between this May and next March, cover 61 Lloyds sites as well as 61 at Halifax and 14 at Bank Of Scotland.

Lloyds is to shut another 136 branches[/caption]

It confirms fears that branches would be axed after Lloyds said just weeks ago that customers would be able to use services across any of its branded branches.

Lloyds is also shutting two big offices in Liverpool and Dunfermline, impacting more than 1,000 staff.

It blamed the changes on more customers switching to online banking.

A spokesman said customers could use banking hubs, but fewer than 200 remain in the UK.

Meanwhile more than 6,000 branches have shut in the past decade.

The closures, which come on the back of NatWest closing 53 branches earlier this week, risk leaving some towns without banking access.

CAR FIRM TAKEOVER

BRITISH car parts maker DowlaisS has agreed to a £1.2billion takeover by Detroit-based rival American Axle & Manufacturing.

Dowlais, which was spun out of GKN, said the move would give benefits of scale during the switch to electric vehicles.

Society Of Motor Manufacturers and Traders figures show the slowdown in that transition contributed to a 12 per cent fall in overall car production last year.

AI RIVALS’ DEEPSEEK DEEP PEEK

U.S. partners Microsoft and Open AI are investigating if a Chinese start-up that triggered tech panic this week used its unauthorised data to launch its cheaper chatbot.

DeepSeek unveiled a free-to-use bot that rivals OpenAI’s ChatGPT at a fraction of the development cost.

But OpenAI says it has evidence that the Chinese firm used its own models to train DeepSeek’s.

Microsoft has invested almost £11billion in OpenAI.

White House AI czar David Sacks said: “There’s substantial evidence that DeepSeek distilled the knowledge out of OpenAI’s models.”

Experts have warned about the security risks of people plugging their personal data into DeepSeek’s tech, as the data is then stored in communist China.

WH SMITH, which wants to sell 500 high street stores, saw high street sales fall 6 per cent in the half-year to January 25, while its travel business rose 7 per cent.

HMV’s owner is pondering a bid for the high street arm.

D-DAY IN GAS AND OIL FEUD

THE Government is set for a fresh battle between growth and its green agenda in the row over two of Britain’s biggest oil and gas fields.

A court is today expected to say that ministers must make a fresh decision on Shell and Equinor’s Jackdaw and Rosebank projects in the North Sea if it deems their licences were granted unlawfully.

The government is facing a battle with two of Britain’s biggest oil and gas fields[/caption]

Eco campaigners at Greenpeace have argued that the fields fall foul of environmental assessments as they should also consider the full impact of end users, including petrol in cars and gas in boilers.

The energy companies say the partially built developments will bolster investment in the UK and energy security.

If Shell and Equinor’s consent is quashed, as expected, they will need to reapply to the Government for consent.

This could trigger a fresh tussle between Energy Secretary Ed Miliband and growth-seeking Chancellor Rachel Reeves.

PSV 3 Liverpool 2: Arne Slot’s youthful side beaten by Dutch giants… but still seal Champions League top spot

ARNE SLOT claimed a “wise man” once told him nothing good ever came from a defeat.

The identity of the Liverpool’s manager’s Yoda-style mentor remains a mystery but he may also have mentioned that the results of pre-season friendlies do not matter.

Because here in Eindhoven, it felt exactly like that for Liverpool – the sort of match we see in July – with Slot mixing and matching his team without worrying too much about the outcome.

Even though they lost, Liverpool finished in the top two.

So this third defeat of the Slot reign really was an irrelevance and not one anyone will dwell on.

Slot will certainly not stress about a late red card for Liverpool substitute defender Amara Nallo for a tackle on Johan Bakayoko.

Nothing happened until Cody Gakpo scored against his former club with a 28th-minute penalty.

Bakayoko equalised, Harvey Elliott restored Liverpool lead and then Ismael Saibari levelled in the 45th minute.

Remarkably, in the sixth minute of first-half stoppage time, PSV got what was to be their winner.

And it was credited to Ricardo Pepi but looked like a Conor Bradley own goal.

Yet it was always going to be a strange night.

With captain Virgil van Dijk among several high-profile absentees left at home, Andy Robertson not only wore the skipper’s armband.

The Scot also replaced the Dutchman in central defence so there were always going to be a few gaps at the back.

Striker Jayden Danns was handed a full debut up front while midfielder James McConnell made only his third start.

Federico Chiesa – the only arrival last summer – has suffered an injury-hit spell on Merseyside and will have been delighted to get a full 90 minutes in his second start although he was guilty of an embarrassing dive in a bid to win a penalty.

It was Chiesa who won the penalty although he needed extensive treatment after a clumsy whack to the ankles from Joey Veerman.

Gakpo calmly dispatched his spot-kick into the bottom corner and as he had promised before the game, the £45m signing did not celebrate in front of his former supporters.

Gakpo’s 39th strike for Liverpool sparked a flurry of goals.

Bakayoko delivered a lovely finish following a clever turn which left both Robertson and Jarell Quansah on their backsides.

Elliott tucked away a loose ball to restore Liverpool’s lead after keeper Benitez could only parry a shot from Chiesa and Saibari beat Caoimhin Kelleher at his near post for 2-2.

Liverpool did not defend well and they caught out down their right again.

Although Pepi was marked down at the goalscorer, Uefa initially awarded it as an own goal to Bradley as he got a heavy touch to Mauro Junior’s cross.

Gakpo was given a standing ovation by the home fans as he left the field[/caption]

Only six minutes of the second half had been played when Slot decided to give Gakpo a rest and he received a standing ovation from the PSV fans who sang his name.

Gakpo’s replacement, Tyler Morton, delivered a stunning block to prevent Saibari from getting a fourth.

And Kelleher delivered a decent late save to deny Isaac Babadi.
