Nando’s is bringing back fan-favourite menu item after it was axed four years ago

NANDO’S is bringing back a fan-favourite menu item last seen in restaurants four years ago.

The restaurant chain might be more renowned for its chicken, but foodies will be able to grab something a bit different within days.

Following a widespread outcry, Nando’s have decided to bring back their famous Creamy Salad Dressing for the first time since 2020.

“You read that right – Creamy Salad Dressing is coming back to steal the hearts of the nation,” the chain wrote.

“With superfans promising they’ll ‘never stop asking’ – Nando’s is finally answering their daily demands, and the legendary sauce will be recoupling with all UK and Ireland restaurants on Tuesday 4th February 2025.

“So there’ll be a lot less broken hearts ahead of Valentine’s Day.

“Since the PERi-PERi Chicken restaurant removed the sauce from restaurants in 2021, there’s been uproar as fans demand its return.

“Comments have flooded Nando’s socials for years and fans even started a Change.org petition to save the much-loved icon.

“It’s been a long time coming, but it’s finally time to put baby back in the corner Sauce Station.

It’s the perfect match for pretty much everything on the menu. Creamy and garlicky, it’s good on salad and even better on PERi-Salted Chips, Spicy Rice and Chicken Wings.”

The popular restaurant added that the dressing was not the only menu item that fans can expect to see return in 2025.

They added: “And that’s not all, there’s more to come so fans should keep their eyes out for more saucy news about their one true love.”

SAVE AT NANDO’S

Nando’s loyalty scheme rewards chicken fans with a host of free food – it’s no wonder the MSE team called it a “no-brainer”.

Regular diners get a chilli every time they order and spend £7 or more.

Once you hit three chillies, you get a green reward – a free quarter chicken, 3 wings or any starter.

After another three visits picking up chillies, you can get a yellow reward – a free half chicken or single burger, wrap or pitta.

Then after collecting a further four chillies you hit a red reward and can enjoy an entire chicken or meal with a regular side or salad totally free.

CHOOSE PLATTERS

Normally you’d pay £5.25 for a quarter chicken, £8.95 for a half chicken and £15.25 for a whole chicken – so savings £29.45 in total.

A platter to share works out cheaper when there are several of you dining together, compared to buying individual meals.

A family platter has the equivalent of two whole chickens (it comes in quarters to share) and five large sides for £49.95, for example.

That compares to the same order as separate meals that would set you back £60.65 – it works out £10.70 cheaper.

Other platters include the boneless, full platter and wing platter, which can save you between £2 and £4 versus the individual meals.

Do remember that prices can vary depending on location, so the exact prices and savings may be different.

Nando's Rewards

DEALS expert Jordon Cox explains how you can earn Nando's rewards and how much you need to earn to get freebies.

Nando’s Rewards is free to sign up to – enter your details online and get your own digital loyalty card, which you can add to your Apple wallet.

Every time you spend £7+ on food, you’ll be rewarded with one chilli. You can exchange those stamps for free food once you hit three, six or 10 total chillies.

When you’ve collected three chillies (£21 minimum spend), you can unlock a green reward, which is a choice of starter or a 1/4 chicken. This is worth around £3-5 in value.

Once you’ve collected six chillies (£42 minimum spend), you get an orange reward – a wrap, burger, pitta or 1/2 chicken. This is worth around £7-8.

And finally, if you make it to 10 chillies (£70 minimum spend), you unlock a red reward of a full combo meal of your choice or a whole chicken. This is worth up to £15 in value.

To redeem your rewards, simply scan your QR code when paying, or place an order using your freebie.

While the top reward is good, it takes a long time to reach it. You can only collect one chilli a day, so you’d have to eat at Nando’s on 10 separate occasions to earn enough chillies for the top reward.

It’s also difficult to spend the minimum of £7 when eating at Nando’s – meals are typically at least £10.

If you regularly dine with a partner or friend, get a rewards card each and order separately – that way, you can double your rewards and not waste your extra spends.

Once you’ve earned a reward, you have 366 days to use it

The bank that everyone’s switching to revealed as 1.2million moved accounts last year

OVER a million bank users switched to a new bank in 2024 for the second year in a row and one establishment came out on top.

The Current Account Switch Service (CASS) which helps people switch their current accounts, revealed that huge swathes of bank users are changing their financial habits.

Nationwide came out on top followed by Barclays, TSB, and Lloyds (stock)[/caption]

A whopping 1,190,676 switches were made in 2024 with CASS handling the process.

The bank to come out on top as the most popular choice for bankers to switch to was the Nationwide Building Society.

Data collected between July and September 2024 revealed that Nationwide had the highest net switching gains.

Barclays was second followed by TSB and Lloyds.

It should be noted that these figures do not include switches conducted outside of the switch service.

The CEO of TotallyMoney, Alastair Douglas believes he knows why Nationwide was the top chosen bank.

He said: “More often than not, the best offers on the market lure the most customers. And this could be why Nationwide saw the biggest net gains during the summer months.

“Back then, they had a market-leading £200 switch bonus and a 5.5% savings rate on up to £10,000 for 18 months.

“Following Nationwide were Barclays, TSB and Lloyds who were offering £175, £190, and £175 respectively.”

Bank customers use CASS because the service automatically transfers payments and guarantee protection in case of any issue during the switch.

Since it launched over a decade ago, it has helped switch 160.5 million payments.

According to research for CASS, the main reason bank customers switch accounts is due to online or mobile banking.

The switch service has said this has been true for several consecutive quarters.

The second top reason for the switch was interest rates and customer service.

Which banks did most bank users switch to?

  1. Nationwide Building Society
  2. Barclays
  3. TSB
  4. Lloyds

Even better for users of the service, the majority of bank customers who switch are happy with their choice,

Of those who switched last year, 72 per cent said they were happier with their new current account compared to their old one, CASS revealed.

Just 2 per cent of customers were not happy with the switch.

John Dentry, product owner at Pay.UK, owner and operator of CASS, said: “2024 was yet another busy year for the service, and these figures are ultimately being driven by increasingly money-conscious consumers.

“Banking institutions, whether they be neobank disruptors or traditional high street banks, continue to present diverse, innovative and increasingly generous offers to win over hot-footed switchers.

“We’re pleased to see such high satisfaction and completion rates, cementing the service’s position as critical infrastructure which enables a healthy and competitive banking marketplace.”
