18 hours agoLatest NewsComments Off on I went to the foodie capital of the world where I had the best cheap meals of my life as well as £1.50 snacks
I NEVER thought of myself as a big foodie – until I went to the dining capital of the world.
While great food can be found in places like Italy and Mexico, the very best is found in Tokyo.
Tokyo has more than 200 Michelin stars[/caption]
The capital city of Tokyo is known for it’s fine dining – it has more Michelin star restaurants than both Paris and New York combined.
It was named the best city for food and drink this year in the Food & Wine’s Global Tastemakers list, with previous accolades including the “world’s best food city” by Saveur magazine.
There’s never been a better time to visit Japan, with the yen being weak against the pound, so your money goes further.
And I found the food places that only cost a few pounds for some of the best food I’ve ever eaten.
In the Harujuku district was our favourite find, Harajuku Gyozaro tucked away inside a condensation-covered shack.
Only serving gyoza, we had six of the best pork dumpling that were both soft on the top and crispy on the bottom for just 290 yen (£1.50).
Safe to say we came back the next day and ordered another two batches, opting for steamed (the only other option being fried).
Or there was the many vending machine ramens, better than ones I’d had at a restaurant in the UK.
One of my favourite ramen restaurants was Kyushu Jangara Ramen, with a massive bowl I couldn’t finish for just £8.
Most places give you free unlimited noodles too – if you can fit them in.
While less on the cheap side, the deserts are also the most fun ever.
There are the chocolate filled fish, the entire milk bread loafs stuffed with cream and ice cream, the numerous matcha mochi as well as the famous matcha KitKats.
My favourite was Crunky, tiny balls of chocolate filled with rice crispies not unlike a Crunch bar.
This is best found at the many 7-Eleven corner shops across the country – with more than 21,000 to choose from.
It’s safe to say I came back feeling extremely well-fed – and a suitcase stuffed with snacks.
The Sun’s Ryan Gray said: “Some came in two-piece top and bottom sets, others were more traditional robes with a fancy sash to tie around the waste, known as a yukata.
“They ranged from simple single colour designs to much fancier patterned garments, all of which I was happy to slip into after a shower at the end of a long day of exploring.”
Flights to Japan from the UK start for as little as £197 each way, with the cheapest flights being with China Eastern Airways, stopping in Shanghai.
Flights take around 16 hours.
Can’t quite make it to Japan? Here’s an English park that makes you feel like you are there.
The chaos of capital city Tokyo, with its neon lights, skyscrapers and maze of zebra crossings herding teeming crowds, is not a reflection of the entire country.
Japan’s culture stretches far and wide and the best way to get an overall flavour is a guided tour — you can tick off the sights and will have an expert on hand to answer any questions, about traditions and history or the best places to eat.
My whirlwind itinerary, with knowledgeable Richard from Inside Japan Tours, began in Japan’s second-largest city Osaka.
Japan sticks closely to tradition and while you can find chunks of it woven into Osaka and nearly every region, heading to an onsen town is the best way to soak it up.
But Kyoto is the place to go to find these houses of worship in abundance.
It’s hard to believe the city is Japan’s former capital, especially for those like me who associate the country with the bright lights and big crowds of its current capital, Tokyo.

EASTENDERS fans are speculating over who attacked Cindy Beale after she was violently attacked on Christmas Day.
The BBC soap aired two explosive festive specials as Cindy and Junior’s affair was exposed.
EastEnders released an image of nine suspects that could have attacked Cindy[/caption]
Gina Knight, Cindy’s daughter, is one of the nine suspects[/caption]
Did Gina attack her mum?[/caption]
In the Queen Vic as the recording of Cindy admitting everything played ruining the festivities, she was humiliated.
With Ian literally throwing her out of his house and into the freezing, snowy conditions Cindy booked a cab out of Walford.
The character – played by Michelle Collins – now in an induced coma after having emergency surgery on her brain.
The police are interviewing everyone on in Albert Square to find out who tried to murder her.
Fans are convinced they have sussed out the killer, after looking very shifty.
There are nine suspects in the frame including Ian Beale, Peter Beale, Lauren Branning, Kathy Beale, Junior Knight, George Knight, Anna Knight, Gina Knight and Elaine Knight.
Gina is the daughter of George and Cindy and has previously struggled a drug addiction.
She was left shocked and disgusted to learn her mum was having an affair with her stepbrother Junior.
In explosive scenes, Cindy accused her daughters of being “pathetic” for “moaning about their mummy going to France.”
Now, fans are suspicious of Gina’s sketchy behaviour as she was seen sneaking out of the pub late at night.
Taking to Reddit, one viewer said: “My money is on Gina. She’s been kept in the background the last couple of episodes, with minimal dialogue, whereas I think her character would have the most to say with everything that’s gone on.”
On X, another fan wrote: “I reckon it was Gina who tried to kill Cindy but George covering for her #EastEnders.”
But a third penned: “Gina has probably relapsed & that’s why they’re acting so shifty.”
Who attacked Cindy Beale?
The Sun’s Soaps Editor Carl Greenwood runs down the suspects in the big EastEnders whodunnit
Anna Knight
Shall we just rule Anna out straight away?
The woman’s barely got enough about her to kill a fly, so the chances of her finally becoming worthy of being Cindy Beale’s daughter and bashing her over the head with a shovel are slim to none.
But she was watching out of the Queen Vic window so she may well know who did attack her mother.
Gina Knight
Fiery, recovering drug addict Gina is a good shout for shovel-ing her mother this Christmas.
She’s got the boxing skills of George and the temper of Cindy – so she definitely has the ability and will to take her mother down.
And she was seen sneaking out of the Vic just before Cindy was attacked.
Peter Beale
This Peter is a bit of a drip – he’s more Anna, than Gina, shall we say.
It’s hard to imagine him being able to pick up a shovel without mummy’s approval.
But having said that he was seen drowning his sorrows in tears shortly before the attack, so maybe he finally embraced his mum’s side?
Lauren Branning
Never before has a character failed to learn from her past mistakes more than Lauren.
Except Cindy obviously who appears doomed to repeat the affair cycle until the day she dies.
But Lauren’s ability to ruin Christmas is unrivalled – and it provoked explosive drama.
And it left her with a bag of pills in the car lot having lost her relationship, her family and her son – and it’s all Cindy’s fault.
So could Lauren be the one responsible?
Ian Beale
For a man whose Christmases have included the time he was nearly murdered by his wife with a killer carbonara, you’d think he’d have quite low threshold for bad days but this was something else.
Humiliated in public by a recording of Cindy saying he couldn’t satisfy her so much so she was sleeping with her former stepson, Ian didn’t have a happy Christmas.
He threw a drink over and then punched Junior, before rejecting Cindy and throwing her out onto the streets.
Last seen smashing up his own living room and storming out into the Square, he was certainly in the mood for killing Cindy.
But could he? Really?
Kathy Beale
There’s been no love lost between Kathy and Cindy since they both returned from the dead and a full-on brawl is well overdue.
But after everything that happened last Christmas, would Kathy really want to go through that again?
It’s a miracle she managed to get back into the Vic.
Elaine Peacock
The Queen Vic landlady’s scheme to get rid of Cindy once and for all backfired quite spectacularly.
She began Christmas Day convinced she was about to be rid of Cindy forever – but ended it single and alone.
Hearing George rage about Junior taking what was his pushed her over the edge and she kicked George out.
But did it push her enough to grab a shovel and try to kill Cindy?
George Knight
Cindy cost him everything.
He’s now homeless, job-less and son-less after Cindy’s affair was exposed and as a former professional boxer he’s capable of explosive rage.
He was seen working out his emotions on a punching bag, but maybe it didn’t work and maybe he needed Cindy to pay for what she’d done?
Junior Knight
The spurned lover, unwanted son, humiliated man… things aren’t looking good for Junior.
He fell for Cindy, hook, line and sinker, and worse, he fell for her lies.
Last seen trying to call Cindy after everything went down – did he want to find her to kill her or to seduce her again?
Meanwhile, newcomer Kojo Asura is not in the BBC released promo image and fans are wondering why when he has the biggest motive.
Viewers know that Cindy made Kojo lie about her affair with her stepson Junior and threatened him with deportation if he told anyone.
She also caused his accident when he fell from a high balcony and ended up in hospital.
Some believe Kojo may have tried to get revenge on Cindy.
On Boxing Day, George asked Kojo to lie to the police and be each other’s alibi when they are questioned by the police about Cindy’s attack.
George said he was at the boxing gym when Cindy was attacked – but where was Kojo?
George then pulled out his hidden white shirt he wore on Christmas Day, which had blood stains on it. Was he helping Kojo?
EastEnders airs Monday to Thursday at 7:30pm on BBC One and is available to watch from 7am on BBC iPlayer.

18 hours agoLatest NewsComments Off on I’ve spent £240k covering 90% of my body with tattoos -mums don’t let their kids near me & call me a ‘circus freak’
A WOMAN who has spent £240,000 tattooing almost her entire body, has slammed trolls who say it makes her a bad mum.
Mother of two Kyla has covered 90% of her body in tattoos, and works as a tattoo model.
Almost all of Kyla’s body is covered in tattoos[/caption]
Trolls brand her a ‘bad mum’ due to her unique appearance[/caption]
Kyla was raised in a strict Mormon household, so was never allowed to express herself or dress in the way she wanted.
“As I got older I wanted to wear and look however I wanted,” she told Truly.
However, Kyla never imagined that she would be as heavily tattooed as she is today.
“There’s several things I like about tattoos, I love the way that they look and everything about them.”
Kyla gets a new tattoo at least once a week and it took her six years in total to cover her entire body.
However, she often gets negative reactions when she goes out in public.
“We’ve been kicked out of restaurants for having face tattoos,” she said of herself and her partner Vampiro.
Kyla added that mums often grab their children closer to them when they see her walking down the street.
Trolls on the internet are even worse, she revealed and brand her a “circus freak” and a “sideshow”.
However, Kyla doesn’t let these comments get to her as she says she doesn’t have her tattoos for attention.
“I just like the way I look,” she said.
Kyla said that she and Vampiro are judged as being “bad parents” because they are heavily tattooed, but have insisted that this is not the case.
“We’re actually very normal,” she said.
She added that people often tell her that she would look so much better without tattoos.
Tattoo Do's and Don'ts
1. Think, think and think some more
Tattoos done on a whim are far more likely to lead to regret than a tattoo you thought long and hard about. Think about why you want what you’ve chosen. And if you still want it after a few months, then get it.
2. Age restrictions apply
You must be 18 years old to be tattooed in the UK.
3. Don’t haggle over the price
When you go to a tattoo shop the price is the price. You are paying for an artist’s time and skills, they charge what they believe those things are worth.
4. Don’t get tattooed while you’re hungry
Eat before you go for your tattoo session and make sure you’re hydrated. You’re about to be subjected to a period of sustained physical discomfort, if you’re feeling a little weak from hunger or you’re dehydrated things will not go as smoothly as they should.
5. Don’t drink alcohol before you get tattooed
If you are drunk or under the influence of drugs, don’t go for a tattoo. In fact, if your tattooist has anything at all about them they will turn you away if you are clearly under the influence of any intoxicating substances. I’d also avoid drinking the night before, even a few drinks will thin your blood and make your bleed more.
“The most common comment I get is ‘you were beautiful before you ruined yourself with tattoos’.”
“I would say to the people on social media who think I look better without tattoos: ‘I think you guys are freaking crazy.'”
“I do look beautiful without tattoos but I look way hotter with them.”
18 hours agoLatest NewsComments Off on How to look after your mental health if you’ve had a stressful Christmas – and repair relationships after bickering
IT’S meant to be about goodwill to all men, but even the happiest families end up rowing on Christmas.
Factor in all that booze and lots of people that don’t usually spend much time together, cramped around a Christmas tree, and it’s understandable.
The stress of Christmas can leave you feeling overwhelmed – but there are ways to help[/caption]
The odd tiff over who ate the last segment of chocolate orange, or who cheated on Monopoly, is to be expected.
In fact, a study of 2,000 adults who celebrate Christmas revealed that while 83 per cent look forward to seeing loved ones over the festive period, 43 per cent are braced for arguments.
For some though, the holidays can spiral into fights that last well into the new year.
And it can be a particularly tough season if there’s an empty space at the dinner table.
Throw in the financial stress of paying for Christmas and the exhaustion that can hit at the end of the year, and it can all add up to you feeling pretty low, stressed and worn out by the time New Year’s Eve rolls round.
“Tensions often run high during the festive period due to heightened expectations that can lead to stress,” explains Holly Beedon, clinical lead from free mental health service, Living Well UK.
Luckily, there’s lots you can do to help yourself recover from the festive strain…
Reflect on what happened
Maybe you stomped off after a family argument or you took on too much of the cooking and organisation and felt resentful and overwhelmed.
Whatever caused you stress this Christmas, once the dust settles, Holly says: “Reflection is crucial as it allows us to learn from what happened and identify underlying triggers.”
If there was a disagreement, she says: “Ask yourself why the argument occurred, how it made you feel and how it affected others.
“This doesn’t mean dwelling on guilt or blame but rather understanding the dynamics at play.
“Reflecting can also help you spot patterns, such as stress from overcommitment or unresolved tension from before Christmas.”
Mulling things over can help you make changes next year, like ring fencing time just for you over the Christmas break, or making sure you all get out of the house for a bit on December 25 in future.
Repair damaged relationships
Tension simmering days after the last of the turkey’s been eaten?
Simi Warah, therapy services manager, Priory Hospital Woking, says: “Try to think of conflict as inevitable in any relationship.
“If we can address and deal with these disagreements, it can improve the overall relationship by developing deeper connections and understanding.”
She adds: “Think about what part you played in the bickering or disagreement and offer suggestions of what you feel you could have done differently, rather than coming from a place of putting all the blame on them.”
So if it was you who rigged that game of Cluedo, it’s time to own up.
Pick a calm moment and a neutral space to have a chat with your loved one about what went on.
If someone let you down, consider whether the situation warrants a conversation or whether it’s more beneficial to let it go
Holly BeedonLiving Well UK
Holly says: “Take accountability for your part in any disagreements and approach others with empathy, listening without interruption.
“Expressing regret for specific actions or words can go a long way in mending relationships.”
And while the idea of spending more time together after a stressful Christmas might seem counterintuitive, Dr Elena Touroni, consultant psychologist and co-founder of The Chelsea Psychology Clinic, says you can help rebuild relationships “by sharing enjoyable activities or making plans together”.
Try organising an activity you’ll actually find fun that will help you all let off steam, like going for a walk, seeing a comedy at the cinema or having a kitchen disco.
However, if a loved one has really crossed a line, Simi says: “You may feel that the conflict can’t be resolved and this may be a time for you to reflect on the future of your relationship, especially if you feel you are not being heard or your needs are not being met.”
Dr Elena adds: “Repairing relationships is about consistent effort, not just words.”
If Christmas didn’t go to plan
There might not have been any blazing rows in your house, but you could still be feeling let down or disappointed.
Maybe it wasn’t as festive as you’d imagined, the meal was a disaster, or travel disruptions meant you couldn’t see the people you wanted to.
Holly says: “Unmet expectations during Christmas can lead to feelings of disappointment or frustration.
“Begin by recognising that these feelings are valid but temporary.
“Reflect on what went wrong and whether your expectations were realistic.
Help for mental health
If you, or anyone you know, needs help dealing with mental health problems, the following organisations provide support.

Heads Together, www.headstogether.org.uk, is the a mental health initiative spearheaded by The Royal Foundation of The Prince and Princess of Wales.
“If someone let you down, consider whether the situation warrants a conversation or whether it’s more beneficial to let it go.
“Focusing on gratitude can also help reframe the experience.
“Identify moments of joy or connection, no matter how small.”
She says planning something to look forward to can make a huge difference and distract you from the disappointment, adding: “A day out or a personal goal can help shift your focus and boost your mood.”
Managing grief
Grief can be particularly painful if it’s been your first Christmas without a loved one.
Holly says: “Acknowledge your emotions rather than suppressing them; it’s okay to feel sadness, longing, or even anger.
“Sharing your feelings with someone you trust or writing them down in a journal can be therapeutic.”
Starting a new tradition to honour the memory of your loved one could really help too, whether it’s visiting a place they loved, hanging up a meaningful decoration, or lighting a candle.
Simi says: “Finding a way to connect to the person you’ve lost might feel uncomfortable or painful, but sometimes the amount of grief we feel is related to the amount of love we may have had – it’s important to remember this.”
She adds: “Whatever you do, try to ask for support if your feelings of grief become overwhelming or unmanageable.”
Speak to family members and friends if you feel able to, and if you’re really struggling, speak to a therapist or your GP about getting some extra support.
Let the festive stress go and look forward
“Letting go of Christmas stress involves recognising what’s in your control,” says Dr Elena.
Unwinding is key. She says: “Practice relaxation techniques like deep breathing or mindfulness, and prioritise self-care by setting aside time for rest and hobbies.”
The start of a new year can be a clean slate too.
Simi says: “Think of it as a chance to look forwards.
“Instead of restrictive resolutions, try to set some self-care, wellbeing goals that have positive language (e.g. ‘I’m going to do…’ rather than ‘I need to stop…’).
“What can you add to your life that is positive rather than taking away?”
Connecting with others (join a club, call an old friend, have lunch with a colleague)
Being physically active (go for a jog, do some gardening, have a stretch)
Learning new skills (front crawl, how to crochet, a new recipe)
Giving to others (volunteer, saying thank you, spending time with loved ones)
Paying attention to the present moment (aka being mindful)
It’s a normal human response to feel stressed or to struggle with your mental health sometimes, but if you’re really finding things difficult, or like your Christmas stress just isn’t letting up, again, speak to your GP.
Charities like Mind and Samaritans are also on hand throughout the festive season and beyond if you need to speak to someone.
Simi adds: “If things feel overwhelming, consider getting some professional help from a qualified therapist who can help you get to know yourself and your needs better, to see things more objectively, help you set some goals, and look at ways for you to cope.
“All of this can help you improve your life, as well as having a wider positive impact on your relationships.”
The 7 lesser-known signs of stress
A LOT of the time, the signs of stress are pretty obvious.
Your palms get sweaty, your thoughts begin to race, and perhaps you’re forced to make a last-minute dash to the toilet.
But sometimes stress manifests itself as more of a background hum than sharp spikes of terror.
Stress can impact your health in ways you might not even be realising and in those cases, your body might tip you off to your mental strain with subtle signs.

RUTH Langsford revealed a sense of “deja vu” over her festive traditions as she marked her first Christmas following her split with husband Eamonn Holmes.
The Loose Women anchor, 64, took to her Instagram page to let slip the similarities in her festive traditions in a candid video filmed in her open-plan kitchen.
Ruth Langsford has revealed a sense of ‘deja vu’ in her first Christmas since her split with Eamonn Holmes[/caption]
The former This Morning anchors shocked fans with news of their split this year[/caption]
Loose Women anchor Ruth, 64, told how she was still disorganised in her kitchen[/caption]
In her new video, Ruth was seen donning a grey jumper emblazoned with a star motif as she told how her traditions and preparation had not changed despite their marriage coming to an end.
She told the camera: “This feels like deja vu because last Christmas Eve I was standing in the kitchen like this, with a roller in my hair, talking about last minute things and how come I’m never organised and have everything done.
“Like people that are going to carol services tonight and pantos and everything’s done.
“And I haven’t got everything done.”
The ITV stalwart then wrote in her caption: “Christmas Eve in the kitchen again!! Roller in the fringe trying to get everything finished! Happy Christmas everyone!”
She previously told how she was keeping up the family tradition of laying the table for the Christmas Day lunch the night before.
Yet one major difference for the parent of one is that her mum Joan is in hospital for the festive period.
Yet the pair did manage to enjoy Christmas cake and crosswords on Ruth’s Boxing Day visit.
In the video, Ruth added: “My mum is in hospital to be fair so I’ve been doing a lot of hospital visiting but that’s no excuse, because I’ve had all year to prep.”
Meanwhile, fans were quick to respond to her festive “deja vu” with one writing: “So glad you said that Ruth I’m exactly the same. Wish your Mum well. Merry Christmas.”
Another wrote: “You are so fab Ruth … an inspiration.”
Ruth and Eamonn's relationship timeline
Before the shock split announcement, Ruth and Eamonn seemed like one of the strongest couples on UK TV – even with their signature bickering style.
Here’s how their romance played out…
1997 – The couple first meet after being introduced by mutual friends, two years after Eamonn splits from his first wife, Gabrielle, with whom he has three children.
1997-2002 – To be respectful to Gabrielle, the couple kept their relationship out of the limelight. Ruth told Daily Mail: “I thought it spoke volumes about the sort of man he was, the sort of father he was and the integrity he had. It made me love him more, not less.”
2002 – Ruth and Eamonn welcome their son, Jack, to the family.
2005 – Eamonn finalises his divorce with Gabrielle.
2006 – The pair begin to host Friday episodes of This Morning together.
2010 – Eamonn proposes to Ruth while at the Cheltenham Races, after asking Ruth’s mother for her hand.
June 2010 – Eamonn and Ruth marry at Elvetham Hall, Hampshire.
2016 – Eamonn undergoes a double hip replacement in the first of many health battles.
June 2019 – On This Morning, Ruth and Eamonn say the secret to their happy marriage. Eamonn credits “compromise, consideration and lots of conjugal,” while Ruth said it was “laughter and an equal marriage”.
November 2020 – Ruth and Eamonn are replaced on their regular Friday slot by Alison Hammond and Dermot O’Leary in a ‘show shake-up’.
December 2021 – After a year of being moved to the bank holiday presenting slot, both Eamonn and Ruth left This Morning.
January 2022 – Eamonn debuted on GB News, while Ruth stayed with ITV in her long-standing role on Loose Women.
September 2022 – Eamonn undergoes spinal surgery after years of back issues including a trapped sciatic nerve.
November 2022 – Eamonn falls down the stairs of his Surrey home with Ruth and breaks his shoulder, requiring a new operation.
September 2023 – Eamonn has a spine and neck stretching procedure as part of his year-long recovery.
May 2024 – Ruth and Eamonn announce they have split after 14 years of marriage and a 27-year relationship.
September 2024 – Eamonn was spotted on a luxury holiday in Barcelona with his new girlfriend Katie Alexander. Ruth calls in a ‘fierce’ divorce lawyer.
A third posted: “Hope your mum is home soon, and a merry Christmas to you and Jack and all the best for 2025.”
One added: “Thank you for being so real. Your table looks great. Happy Christmas. Have a lovely time. x. Also, I wish your Mum well. x”

MARCUS STEWART feels like a fraud, even though he is anything but that.
The Ipswich icon lives with motor neurone disease but can still drive and walk to the pub while the condition’s horrible effects are yet to fully take hold.
Ipswich icon Marcus Stewart was diagnosed with motor neurone disease two years ago[/caption]
The ace is remaining positive as he is able to still do daily things in life[/caption]
It is more than two years since the diagnosis and Stewart’s right arm is starting to show the symptoms that first affected his left hand.
Yet the 52-year-old former striker confessed: “I feel a bit of a fraud sometimes.
“I’m fine. I’m in pretty good nick considering a lot of other people with MND. I can still have a pint, I can still walk, I can still drive.
“Life as it stands hasn’t changed that much. You see other people with MND in their wheelchair and they can’t speak, so hopefully that doesn’t come to me soon.
“If there’s no cure or treatment, then it will do but I still have hope. I always live in hope.”
Despite his outward persona, Stewart — who also starred for Huddersfield, Sunderland and both Bristol clubs during a 20-year career that saw him score 222 goals — admits frustration at no longer being able to easily do things he once did.
He no longer has use for his bike and golf clubs. But he hopes to be around when a treatment for MND is found, ideally before he has to sell his car.
Stewart added: “My wife will tell you I get angry when I can’t do something like take my socks off or put them on or open a jar or a can of beans, I can’t do that.
“I don’t like asking someone. I’ve always been quite independent, so that frustrates me a lot.
“I’ve just got to adapt. I love playing golf, I love running, keeping fit. I can’t really do that any more, that frustrates me.
Stewart hopes to take inspiration from Kevin Sinfield, who was close pals with the late Rob Burrow[/caption]
“Every symptom I get, I seem to have to sell something as I can’t use a certain part of my body.
“I’ve sold my bike and my golf clubs but I haven’t had to sell my car yet.
“I know the day I’ll have to will happen, it’s just happening a bit slower for me.
“And I’m hopeful something will happen before that comes. It’s unlikely but I still have hope.
“I think I’ve got a little bit of time on my hands for there to be some sort of cure or treatment. Hopefully in my time, that might happen.”
Stewart was at the finish line for Kevin Sinfield’s incredible 230-mile running challenge in the Saddleworth area of Greater Manchester earlier this month.
Sinfield was a close pal of Rob Burrow, the Super League icon who passed away in June following his battle with the condition, and has raised more than £1million for MND charities.
Stewart said: “He’s a juggernaut, isn’t he? He’s just a great guy who genuinely cares about people. In normal life, I think that’s Kev.
“But he’s taken it upon himself to care for us really. It started with his mate Rob and he’s giving hope to the other 5,000 people in the country who have MND.
“And the biggest thing he’s given through all this is hope. That’s what he does, along with the awareness and fund- raising that goes a long way, hope comes hand in hand with that.
“If there’s money going to the scientists, to fundraising, to helping people, there’s got to be hope.”

Marks and Spencer has really stepped up its game in recent years, becoming one of the trendiest spots on the high street.
Over the festive season, the store will be adjusting its hours to give its hardworking team some well-deserved time off to relax and enjoy the holidays.
Changed opening hours
According to YouGov’s 2024 poll, Marks and Spencer is the nation’s second-favourite supermarket, coming in just behind Aldi.
Known for its stunning food halls and diverse range of options, including the vegan-friendly Plant Kitchen line, it’s no wonder M&S is so loved.
This New Year’s, the treasured high-street store is giving its staff a well-earned break by closing on New Year’s Day.
However, some stores will stay open until 7pm on both December 31 and January 1, so it’s a good idea to double-check the hours at your local branch before heading out.
M&S at Christmas
M&S has become synonymous with the holidays, thanks to its festive TV adverts and foodhall goods.
Anyone looking to do some DIY in the new year will be happy to know that B&Q will be open on January 1, 2025 (albeit with reduced hours).
Other high street shops such as Home Bargains on the other hand, will be closed.
With several chains giving their staff a well-deserved break on January 1, be sure to check your local store’s hours in advance for a stress-free start to 2024.
