Masked Singer fans convinced Snail is 90s girl band star who quit fame to become a masseuse

THE MASKED Singer fans are convinced that Snail is a huge 90s pop star from a much beloved girl band.

Some fans have spotted clues that the shelled creature is Irish signer Edele Lynch from iconic group B*Witched.

Snail has got everyone guessing – including the panel of judges.

In the first episode, judges Mo GilliganDavina McCallMaya Jama, and Jonathan Ross were joined by Sir Mo Farah in the guessing game.

They were all wowed by Snail, who took to the stage to sing Espresso by Sabrina Carpenter, with a garden-themed performance.

They then pulled out all the stops with Take That’s Rule the World and Hold On by Wilson Phillips last weekend.

Now some eagle-eyed fans think Snail could be pop songstress Edele.

One viewer wrote: “I think Snail is Edele Lynch from Bewitched, lots of umbrellas for Blame it on the weatherman, wrote songs for Girls aloud with Xenomania company.”

A second posted: “Edele Lynch or Andrea Corr is snail.”

While others think they’ve recognised the voice.

A third said: “Snail – someone from B*Witched? Sounds a bit Irish and you can watch the Bewitched on amazon prime. Also j’taime reminded me of cest la vie.”

Another added: “That was definitely an Irish accent. Someone from Corrs or B*Witched?”

Edele swapped her singing career for a very different day job after shooting to fame in the 1990s.

The star, 43, enjoyed success along with her other bandmates – twin sister, Keavy, Lindsay Armaou and Sinéad O’Carroll with some of their smash hits such as C’est La Vie and Blame It On The Weatherman.

Fast forward over two decades and Edele has a very surprising job away from the limelight.

She recently revealed in an interview that she went back to school to be trained as a neuromuscular therapist and currently works as a neuromuscular therapist and personal training.

The band was first formed in 1998 when Edele and Keavy decided to start a group with their friend Sinead.

B*Witched enjoyed huge success worldwide, becoming the first act in history to have their first four singles debut at number one in the UK.

However, in 2002 after their huge success and touring all over the world the band decided to split.

Snail trail

While other internet-sleuths are now convinced they know who The Masked Singer‘s Snail is.

Some fan thinks they have guessed that the celeb behind the elaborate costume is in fact 90s legend Andrea Corr.

The Irish singer shot to fame nearly three decades ago with her brothers and sisters in the band The Corrs.

Andrea and her siblings were best known for songs like Breathless, So Young, and Runaway.

Fans are now convinced she is The Masked Singer‘s Snail, and they took to social media to sure their thoughts.

One tweeted: “Snail is Andrea Corr- violins playing, clue package mentions Irresistible straight away (Corrs song), soft Irish accent, clue about being up in space- her solo album was called Ten Feet High.”

While another said: “Ok so Snail on #MaskedSingerUK sounds very much like Andrea Corr and that is what I’m sticking with.”

This one agreed: “Snail sounds a bit like Andrea Corr…”

Iconic throwback 80s rally car with fully carpeted floor & tinted-glass windows hits auction for five-figure sum

PETROLHEADS are thrilled to spot this legendary 80s rally car on the market for a five-figure sum.

With iconic tinted windows and carpeted interior, it has sparked nostalgia among motorists who have a soft spot for rally cars.

The Renault 5 Turbo 2 is up for £85,000 and will be auctioned off on Wednesday, 5 February 2025 in Paris by RM Sotheby.

Pictures show the rally-inspired hatchback finished in White Pearl with effortlessly cool tinted-glass electric windows.

With a a grey-black dashboard, two beige cushioned seats and a fully carpeted floor it wouldn’t look out of place in a classic 80s film.

The listing reads: “This Turbo 2 spent most of its life in Japan, having moved to the central region of Gunma in October 1988.”

Coming from the 1980s, the model was born in the golden era for homologation specials – these are rare, high-performance cars made to meet motorsport rules.

“The car remained in the country through to July 2021 before being exported to the United Kingdom, with it now consigned to auction by its current German owner,” the description continues.

“The car was built to be a challenger to Lancia’s Stratos and the Audi Quattro on the stages of the World Rally Championship.”

Revered for being the affordable alternative to the original turbo it was still able to retain the performance and excitement.

The Renault 5 Turbo 2 has such a striking design it looks like no other on the road.

With a flared wheel arch and and angry stance it was unapologetically retro and screams 1980s from the bonnet to the boot.

It packs a punch for a classic car as it has a rear-drive setup – a feature in vehicles where the engine’s power is sent to the rear wheels to propel the car forward.

This means the motor has better handling, improved acceleration, and durability.

It proves the rally style isn’t just for show as the engine has the capability of delivering 160 horsepower to the rear wheels.

This is done using a five-speed manual transmission.

It has a mid-mounted, turbocharged 1.4-litre engine fitted at the back place of the rear seats.

The old-school hatchback has just celebrated its 41st birthday, having left the production factory in 1984.

He soon became known for his silly antics[/caption]

The actor is best known to viewers as Mickey Miller, and his appearance will come 17 years after his character was last seen on Albert Square.

Joe, who originally joined the soap in 2003, was loved by fans for Mickey’s goofy personality.

However, in 2008 he was written out of the show in a move that left viewers stunned.

He decided to leave London after being severely bullied by Sean Slater and then nearly dying in a gas explosion caused by Dr May Wright.

Now Joe is set to make his long-awaited return as the host of the one-off special, offering insights and behind-the-scenes access to the dramatic events of EastEnders’ highly anticipated anniversary week.

The Lock-In promises to give fans a closer look at some of the biggest storylines unfolding in Walford; including the mystery surrounding Cindy Beale’s attacker, the tense love triangle between Denise, Jack, and Ravi, and exclusive revelations about the anticipated live episode.

The show will also feature interviews with some of the soap’s biggest stars, including Jacqueline Jossa, Natalie Cassidy, and Patsy Palmer.

These actresses are planning to share their thoughts on being part of the historic milestone.

Speaking about his return, Joe said: “It was a privilege to take another trip back to Walford to reunite with my EastEnders family ahead of the 40th anniversary.

“I won’t say too much as I don’t want to spoil it for the viewers, but the week is full of explosive drama, and it was great to hear from the cast themselves about what we can expect.”

The 45 minute special will also feature a musical performance from a well-known EastEnders superfan.

BBC Three’s Head of Content Nasfim Haque expressed excitement for the upcoming special, saying: “There is huge excitement for the EastEnders 40th anniversary, and we’re pleased to once again offer viewers on BBC Three an exclusive insight into the anniversary storylines, as we have done previously with some of the biggest storyline moments in the show.”

EastEnders’ Executive Producer, Chris Clenshaw, added: “The 40th anniversary is a monumental occasion for EastEnders, and since we started announcing some of our plans, we have seen an overwhelming amount of speculation around possible theories of what’s to come in the anniversary week.

“This anniversary special show will give the audience a chance to hear from the actors involved in some of those explosive storylines as they share their thoughts and feelings of being involved in this historic milestone.”

Mum shares photo of lump bulging from breast after doctors repeatedly dismissed it – now she’s battling killer cancer

A MUM has shared a shocking photo of a giant lump protruding from her breast, which doctors repeatedly dismissed a benign.

But after months of being told there was nothing to worry about, Tirzah Cooper’s worst fears were confirmed as her received a devastating diagnosis.

After months of insisting something was wrong, Tirzah was diagnosed with breast cancer

Her ordeal began back in August 2021, when she first noticed the growth at the top of her breast.

“At the time, I was working for a plastic surgeon, and she sent me for an ultrasound,” the 39-year-old explains.

“It just showed as a benign tumour. They told me to repeat it in six months.

“So I did, and it was the same again—just a benign tumour.”

But Tirzah Cooper knew all was not right with her body, especially when the lump grew so big that other began noticing it too.

But by early 2022, the lump had doubled in size, protruding visibly through her skin.

A another ultrasound and subsequent biopsy revealed the truth: Tirzah had breast cancer.

“Finding out you have cancer is like having your whole world collapse around you,” Tirzah recalls.

“I was healthy, I had two kids, and yet there I was, facing this diagnosis. It felt unreal.”

Tirzah’s full diagnosis was ER-positive, PR-positive, HER2-negative breast cancer, meaning the tumour was using hormones in the body – such as oestrogen and progesterone – to help it grow.

The mum soon began a series of gruelling treatments to eradicate the disease.

“I started with neo-adjuvant chemotherapy—four rounds of AC and 12 rounds of Taxol. It was five months of hell, but I kept telling myself, ‘You can do this,’” she says.

As she went through treatment, Tirzah began sharing her experiences to her TikTok channel, encouraging others in her position to embrace their new normal with strength and resilience.

Tirzah, who’s based in Canada, explains: “I want to spread awareness about breast cancer and empower survivors to embrace life beyond diagnosis.”

Long-term side effects

After chemotherapy, she underwent a double mastectomy with reconstruction, which left her with implants but no breast tissue.

“It’s such a strange feeling – knowing that your body isn’t the same anymore.

“People think that once the cancer is gone, life goes back to normal. But that’s not how it works,” she shares.

“The long-term side effects of cancer treatment are things people don’t talk about enough.”

From menopause induced by hormone-suppressing therapy to the daily pain in her hips and joints, Tirzah’s life is a far cry from what it once was.

What are the signs of breast cancer?

BREAST cancer is the most common type of cancer in the UK.

The majority of women who get it are over 50, but younger women and, in rare cases, men can also get breast cancer.

If it’s treated early enough, breast cancer can be prevented from spreading to other parts of the body.

Breast cancer can have a number of symptoms, but the first noticeable symptom is usually a lump or area of thickened breast tissue.

Most breast lumps aren’t cancerous, but it’s always best to have them checked by your doctor. You should also speak to your GP if you notice any of the following:

  • a change in the size or shape of one or both breasts
  • discharge from either of your nipples (which may be streaked with blood)
  • a lump or swelling in either of your armpits
  • dimpling on the skin of your breasts
  • a rash on or around your nipple
  • a change in the appearance of your nipple, such as becoming sunken into your breast

Source: NHS

“I was only 36 when I was put into menopause because of the treatment.

“Now, at 39, I still have bad hip and joint pain, especially in the winter,” she reveals.

“The hormone suppressants were unbearable. They crippled me.

“After trying injections and pills, I finally decided to stop the therapy. The risk versus my quality of life just wasn’t worth it.”

Her decision wasn’t easy, but she believes it was the right one for her.

“As a mum of two, with a life ahead of me, I wanted to focus on living—not just surviving,” Tirzah says.

“Patients are already dealing with so much. It’s important to talk about quality of life, not just statistics and treatment plans.”

It feels like a small a small victory now that her hair is growing in[/caption]

Small victories

Throughout her treatment, Tirzah found solace in small victories.

“I learned to celebrate the wins, no matter how small. When my pathology came back clear, it was a celebration. Those little moments kept me going,” she says.

But she shared that one of the most challenging parts of her journey was losing her hair.

“I had long, luscious black hair. I’ve always been a girly girl – I loved lashes and glam. Losing my hair was devastating,” she admits.

But instead of letting it defeat her, Tirzah turned it into an opportunity to experiment with her look.

“Before starting chemo, I cut my hair into a cute bob and tried out wigs.

“My daughter and I even made a fun day of it, trying on pink wigs and laughing.

“When else are you going to have the chance to wear a pink wig?”

People see my hair growing back and think I’m back to normal, but the truth is, you’re never really the same again

Tirzah Cooper

As her hair started falling out in clumps, Tirzah decided to take control.

“I buzzed my head before it all fell out. It made me feel empowered,” she says.

“My fiancé at the time – now my husband – helped me buzz it. It was such a supportive moment.

“I thought I’d hate being bald, but I actually didn’t mind it. I even thought it looked kind of cute.

“When my hair started coming back, it was thin and fluffy, almost like baby hair. I joked that I looked like a balding old man,” Tirzah laughs.

“But eventually, my eyebrows grew back, my eyelashes came back, and I could get lash extensions again. Now my hair is thicker, and it feels like a victory.”

‘I’m a warrior’

Despite her progress, Tirzah still faces challenges.

“I can’t do things like push-ups or heavy lifting. My body just isn’t the same,” she says.

To stay active, she incorporates light squats and Yin yoga into her routine.

“I have to take it easy because if I push myself too hard, I won’t be able to walk for days.”

Through her TikTok platform, Tirzah offers a candid look at the realities of life after cancer.

“It’s not just about the physical recovery. It’s about processing the emotional toll as well,” she explains.

“People see my hair growing back and think I’m back to normal, but the truth is, you’re never really the same again.

“I want to remind people that there is a light at the end of the tunnel. On those dark days when you feel like you can’t go on, just know it’s temporary.

“One day, you’ll look back at photos of yourself bald and think, ‘Wow, I got through it. I’m a warrior.’”

Now, Tirzah is focused on spreading awareness and advocating for others.

“I’ve grieved the person I was before cancer, but I’ve also embraced who I am now,” she says.

“I’m stronger, more resilient, and more determined than ever to make a difference.

“Cancer changes you forever.

“But it also teaches you to appreciate life in a way you never did before. I’m here, I’m alive, and I’m grateful.”

Why are Wales playing late Friday night Six Nations game against France?

WALES kick off their 2025 Six Nations campaign against France in Paris on Friday, January 31.

While exciting for viewers, Friday fixtures have become a topic of debate within the rugby community. Here we take a look at the reasoning behind these late-night Six Nations games.

Wales take on France in Paris at 8.15 pm on Friday, January 31, 2025[/caption]

The simplest explanation as to why some teams play at this time — and others do not — is that Wales and France were the only rugby teams to accept Friday night Six Nations fixtures when they were proposed.

Transport issues

England and Ireland had refused, while Scotland and Italy highlighted concerns about crowd sizes.

In 2017, a Rugby Football Union (RFU) statement said: “Our position hasn’t changed.

“We don’t generally support Friday night matches at Twickenham for a variety of reasons, not least the challenges our fans have getting to and from the match.”

Financial benefits

While also noting issues regarding traffic and public transport during his tenure as Welsh Rugby Union (WRU) chairman, Gareth Davies did acknowledge the financial benefits.

Friday night fixtures tend to sell out the Principality Stadium.

He also added that Friday night matches were preferable to Sunday matches for the majority of Welsh clubs.

Player performance

Former WRU chief executive Steve Phillips pointed out that matches on Friday can have benefits for the performance of players.

It can also avoid the six-day turnaround between the team’s opening and second matches.

Steve said: “You are not going to get every game on a Saturday, so it’s a choice of either a Friday or a Sunday.

“There is a commercial conversation but, more importantly, a performance one.

“What the performance teams are always telling me is try and avoid, if possible, a six day turnaround, especially if you are travelling to an away match.

“Financially, a Friday is not as good as a Saturday, but it’s probably better than a Sunday.”

TV audiences

Another driver behind the scheduling decision is the lucrative world of television rights.

We don’t generally support Friday night matches at Twickenham for a variety of reasons, not least the challenges our fans have getting to and from the match

RFU statement

Friday night matches attract prime-time audiences, which translates to valuable broadcasting deals.

Six Nations organisers and broadcasters have increasingly favoured these slots, with Wales often finding themselves in this position more often than other teams.

Impact on Wales

Since Friday night matches were introduced to the Six Nations in 2009, Wales have played in and hosted more of these fixtures than any other team.

The WRU has often defended these matches, emphasising the exposure and significant revenue they generate for Welsh rugby.

This financial boost is crucial for the development of the sport at all levels in Wales.

However, the WRU has also acknowledged the challenges these games pose for traveling supporters.

In her viral video, TikTok user Paul Pronobis (@paulapronobis_) showed her followers the Lego dupe now available from Aldi.

To compete with the popular Lego flower bouquets, Aldi have launched their own version at a much lower price.

The Lego flower sets currently range from £9.99 for a single stem to £55 for an entire bouquet.

So whether you have allergies or a lack of green fingers, a buildable bouquet might be the way to go.

However, shoppers can now save themselves money by checking out the middle aisle of their local Aldi.

The UK-based TikTok revealed that she picked them up at the Dunstable location.

“Run, don’t walk to Aldi, just £2.99,” Paula told her TikTok followers.

She showed her the wide range of flower types available for this price.

These included red and pink roses, tulips, peonies, zinnias, paper bushes, lavender, orchids, blue clovers, and jasmine.

The Blocks in Bloom from Block Tech are available individually and can be assembled to create a customisable bouquet.

“How cute,” Paula wrote in the caption of her clip, which amassed almost two million views.

Her followers also shared their enthusiasm for the buys in the comments section.

“That’s Valentine’s Day sorted. My hubby got me the roses from Lego last year and now he can get me these,” wrote one viewer.

“Praying my husband buys me the Lego rose bouquet,” said another TikTok user.

“Looks like I’m going to have to get myself some,” commented a third person.

More Aldi middle aisle buys

IF it's middle aisle buys that you're looking here, some of the new items you won't want to miss.

Shoppers recently went wild for Aldi’s new ‘pregnancy and menopause essential’ – and it’s only £6.99.

Garden enthusiasts raced to nab a £6.99 buy that will add style to any garden in an instant.

A £12.99 garden find left shoppers open-mouthed – but you’ll need to sprint to nab it.

If you’re looking to light up your garden this summer, you won’t want to miss this £8.99 solar light.

“Aldi is for the cosy girls lately,” pointed out another impressed shopper.

“Might buy them all,” agreed one commenter.

“I’m going to every Aldi I can tomorrow, I have never needed something so much in my life,” wrote another follower.

“Got mine today! Second Aldi, lucky!! Didn’t think I’d find them,” said one Aldi fan.

“Got these for Mother’s Day last year, might have to get them again!” commented another viewer.

The 27-year-old fell from the eighth floor of the Mont Blanc Apart Hotel.

Anna, who produced adult content online, was reportedly filming a threesome scene at the hotel before her fall.

Chilling footage from the scene shows a police officer standing over a blood-covered body in the hotel courtyard.

In statements given yesterday, the three men accompanying her claimed the influencer arrived at the hotel “quite altered”, reports local outlet Band.

Brazilian police are still trying to determine whether Anna’s death was an accident or if negligence played a role.

The Baixada Fluminense Homicide Division is analysing CCTV footage to piece together the moments before her fatal fall.

Authorities say the three men were friends of Anna’s and were with her earlier that day before returning to the hotel.

About 40 minutes later, she fell to her death.

For now, police do not consider them suspects bu have not ruled out potential liability.

A spokesperson for the homicide unit previously said: “We are conducting a thorough investigation to clarify what happened.

“It’s a complex case, and we don’t rule out any possibility, from an accident to a possible crime.”

Anna’s grieving boyfriend Pedro Henrique paid tribute to his late partner on social media, also announcing details of her funeral.

He wrote: “All the information about the case is already in the hands of the police and they are investigating.

“If someone is to blame, they will pay and the culprit will be found.

“It’s so difficult without you. As the hours pass it’s starting to sink in and the hole in my heart is only getting bigger.”

Meanwhile, a friend added: “She had loads of plans, she wanted to expand her presence on social media and she always spoke enthusiastically about her future projects.

“This news has left everyone stunned.”
