Masked Singer fans slam Maya Jama after spotting major issue with her guesses

THE Masked Singer fans were fed up tonight after a series of improbably guesses from Maya Jama.

While the audience aren’t strangers to an obscure guess from the panel, Maya took it to another level tonight.

Perhaps her most outlandish prediction of the night was that Dressed Crab was none other than King Charles.

Though the monarch has a fun side, it’s safe to say appearing on the ITV entertainment show is out of the question.

When it came to Wolf, Maya began well, noticing a picture of some brown eyes belonged to Angel from Buffy the Vampire Slayer and therefore the person behind the mask had a song called Angel Eyes.

Favourite to be the character is Marti Pellow, whose former group Wet Wet Wet had a song by that name.

But Maya claimed the hit was written by Abba then went off on a tangent that ended up with her guessing Kian Egan from Westlife.

One viewer fumed on X: “Maya Jama took a stab in the dark that a giant singing crab on the telly was King of England. Right.”

Another said: “Maya Jama’s guesses are so ridiculous.”

A third said: “Honestly maya jama is doing my tree in with these clue guesses tonight.”

However, not all of her choices were terrible.

She agreed with Mo Gilligan that Bear is Example, linking a chicken clue in his VT to a viral song he did with Ed Sheeran called Nando’s Skank.

Two characters were exposed in tonight’s show in a dramatic double elimination.

First up was Kingfisher, who was revealed to be artist Sir Grayson Perry, 64.

Perry said he wanted to be “something cute” and that he’d had a “lovely time embracing the spirit of the show”.

His initials, GP, fooled the judges who thought it was a link to comedian Harry Hill‘s former career as a doctor.

In reality, it was a lot more straightforward than that and Perry joked he’d done his best Hill impression.

Teasing what he would have done next, Perry said after the show: “I was gutted when I got knocked out. I had two really lovely songs lined up for next week.

“I was going to sing, ‘Feed the Birds’ from Mary Poppins and there wouldn’t have been a dry eye in the place! I’d already been practising. I could hardly get through without blubbing.

“And then I was going to do ‘Stick Season’  by Noah Kahan. That’s a great song. Lots of words though. Very hard to learn but I had it nailed and I was really looking forward to it.”

Next up was Snail, who was none other than Andrea Corr, 50.

The Corrs singer said she “loved” the costume, she added: “I had such a good time, everyone’s been lovely, it’s been really joyous. I wanted to do it for the children.”

Who has left The Masked Singer 2025 so far?

Much to the delight of telly fans, The Masked Singer is back in 2025.

Twelve celebrities have been hidden behind intricate costumes, with their identities concealed.

Sadly, not all of this year’s whacky and wonderful characters can make it to the end of the show, as there can only be one winner.

Here’s who has been unmasked so far:

Teeth – this character baffled judges and viewers with their changing voice. They were finally unmasked as former Bake Off host Mel Giedroyc. None of the panel managed to guess it was her

Tattoo – despite Davina McCall saying “you sound the same” after this character was unmasked, none of the judges guessed it was 80s singer Carol Decker, whose hit China In Your Hand was a No1 hit for five weeks

Toad In The Hole – a massive diva strop saw the character storm off the stage after the judges voted them off. They later returned to be unmasked as singer Macy Gray

Pegasus – the mythical horse was revealed to be Prue Leith, with judge Jonathan Ross correctly guessing her identity

Spag Bol – this character was first to be unmasked and was none other than Good Morning Britain host Kate Garraway.

Plus there was one extra unmasking this season, with Giant Joel – a caricature of host Joel Dommett – unveiled as double-double Olympic champion Sir Mo Farah.

Prison killer drugs epidemic laid bare as bosses fear 41 inmates could overdose behind bars EVERY day

PRISON chiefs are preparing to deal with up to 41 opioid overdoses every day as they battle a tidal wave of hard drugs.

Ministry of Justice chiefs are looking for an annual supply of 15,000 special kits of medicine that reverses the effect of killers such as heroin, fentanyl and morphine.

They want the nasal Naloxone sprays to be delivered to all prisons and probation offices with an annual bill expected to be more than £250,000.

The spray is administered when drug users are feared to have overdosed and works to relieve dangerous symptoms caused by high levels of opiates in the blood.

Information provided by the MoJ on the tender said: “The estimated volume of kits required could be 15,000 kits per year, to be delivered across the HM Prison and Probation Service estate.”

A two-kit pack costs £32 plus VAT, meaning the annual bill would be £240,000 plus VAT as well as delivery costs.

The rise in overdoses is believed to be fuelled by the growth of synthetic opiates such as nitazenes and fentanyl.

Nitazenes are 250 times stronger than heroin. In 2022, 15 inmates in England and Wales died of unintentional overdoses on it.

MPs on the justice committee launched an inquiry last month into the high levels of drugs in prisons.

The group will look into the supply of drugs into jails, the involvement of organised criminal gangs in the distribution and trafficking of drugs in prisons.

They will also examine the use of technology including drones and mobile phones in facilitating supply.

In October last year the MoJ revealed the number of drones sighted or reported in or around prisons in England and Wales had risen from 478 in 2022 to 1,063 in 2023.

Tragedy as girl and boy die in horror car crash as cops arrest man & woman over fatal smash & fleeing scene

TWO children have died in a horror car crash with cops arresting a man and a woman after they fled the scene.

Police officers rushed to Walthams Place in Pitsea, Essex, after reports of a girl and a boy being involved in a fatal collision at around 6.25pm tonight.

Emergency services attended the scene and fought to save the children but both of them tragically passed away.

The car which hit the young pair failed to stop after the deadly smash, an Essex Police spokesperson confirmed.

A man and a woman have since been arrested on suspicion of causing death by careless driving and failing to stop at the scene of a collision.

The pair remain in custody.

Temporary Assistant Chief Constable Stuart Hooper said: “My thoughts are with the friends and family of the girl and boy who have died this evening.

“Specialist officers are supporting them at this truly unimaginably difficult time.

“Our officers will be carrying out enquiries in the area this evening to establish the circumstances which led up to the collision so if you saw anything or have any information please get in contact.”

Cops urged anyone to come forward immediately after the fatal smash if they had any information or crucial footage.

The statement added: “Please quote incident 931 of 1 February.
