THE BBC finally vowed to stop playing music by drill rapper TEN — aka Jake Fahri — 22 hours after The Sun told them of his killer past.

BBC bosses have questions to answer for allowing Jimmy Mizen’s killer to be promoted on the airwaves, the PM said last night.
Sir Keir Starmer revealed he was “extremely troubled” by The Sun’s revelations as calls for a probe into the broadcaster grew.
The BBC has confirmed it has banned Jake Fahri’s music following the revelations
He said: “There are rules about serious criminals not benefiting in any way from their criminality.
“That is why they cannot write books or things like that, so I think the BBC needs to look at this urgently.”
He also said “serious questions” need to be asked about Jake Fahri’s parole terms.
The PM went on: “I am pretty hardline about this, the BBC need to answer questions pretty urgently.”
Culture Secretary Lisa Nandy also opened the door to a probe into the Beeb.
She was challenged by Tory Shadow Culture Secretary Stuart Andrew, who raised The Sun’s investigation in the Commons.
He said: “The murder of Jimmy Mizen sadly sticks in the mind of many of us.
“The Sun investigation reveals his killer’s identity as the masked rapper Jake Fahri who has shockingly been promoted by the BBC.
“Despite his lyrics sickeningly boasting of killing and other crimes, will the Secretary of State join me in calling for an investigation into how the BBC allowed this to happen as I can’t imagine the pain and upset this is causing Jimmy’s family.”
Ms Nandy replied: “Can I add my voice to the support for Jimmy’s family?
“I think he raised that in a particularly sensitive way. It’s something I would be happy to look at with him.”

RAPPER unmasked by The Sun as the murderer of Jimmy Mizen faces a return to jail after apparently breaching his licence.
Fahri, rap name TEN, was barred from entering the Greenwich area of London as part of his June 2023 release.

Margaret Mizen, whose 16-year-old son Jimmy he killed, watched videos unearthed by The Sun and noticed balaclava-clad Fahri on Greenwich Peninsula with the backdrop of Canary Wharf.
She and hubby Barry, 73, say it is a parole breach.
Fahri hurled a glass dish at Jimmy, fatally severing an artery.
He was found guilty at the Old Bailey in 2009 and sentenced to life with a minimum of 14 years.
A parole board released him in June 2023 despite a report finding he had trouble controlling his anger.
Holding back tears, Margaret said: “Obviously, over this I’m leaning towards (thinking) perhaps he needed to do more jail time.
“But when he came out of prison, Barry and I felt that, if he was a changed person, then prison had done some good.
“But if he is the way he is, what is the point?
“We have been into prisons. We know they do courses, but the courses are often done, just to say, ‘I’ve done a course’.
“And the worst of this is it will make him a celebrity to some.
“The films, if and when they’re out there again, they’ll just go up, because people will be viewing them. Is that good? I don’t know.”
In the video Fahri raps: “Said he wants to be a killer. Hit him with some insight.
“Start some murder trials, prosecution wearing pinstripes (crazy).

“Even if you bust a case, even if you slip right, ends with them coming for your neck, protect your windpipe.”
Last night the 3½ minute clip was still showing on the GRM Daily YouTube channel, which has 6.5million subscribers.
Some fans have turned against him.
One wrote in the video’s comments: “I remember this happening, not far from where I lived. He needs locking up again until he learns. It’s shameful he took a life.”
Another added: “Flexing that you killed a 16 year-old is disgusting shi (sic) old man.”
And one of the channel’s own viewers blasted: “Should never have been released, horrible, evil person clearly on display here. He killed a child as an adult.”
They included: “Stuck it on a man and watched him melt like Ben and Jerry’s.
“Sharpen up my blade I’ve got to keep those necessary.
“Stay alert and kept it ready, any corner could be deadly.
“Judge took a look at me, before the trial even started he already knows he’s gonna throw the book at me.”
The Ministry of Justice has launched an urgent investigation into Fahri’s music and behaviour since being released.

She also showed The Sun a montage of pictures dedicated to Jimmy in the front room of her home — less than 500 yards from where the 16-year-old was killed.
Margaret, 72 — made an MBE in 2013 for her work promoting peace — insisted: “For me and my family, we will continue to do what we do.
“We will bring some good out of Jimmy’s death. I will not be beaten by this man. But that’s not to say that I don’t feel like crying today.
“We share the right messages — forgiveness, peace and hope.”
We told yesterday how the lyrics of drill rapper Fahri, 35, also known as TEN, seem to contain bloodthirsty references to the 2008 murder which shocked Britain.
He was freed from jail in 2023 after serving 14 years of a life sentence for Jimmy’s murder.
Margaret spoke to us yesterday standing in front of the poignant collection of almost 100 photos of Jimmy — put together by his aunt shortly after his death — at her home in Lee, South East London.
Fighting back tears, Margaret said of the tribute: “She wanted to do something for Jimmy. She didn’t know what, so she asked us to get all our photos together, and this is what she came up with. In the early days, I was thinking, ‘Oh gosh, I feel like I’ve lost all my photos’.
“But the more it’s there, it’s beautiful. It shows Jimmy for what Jimmy was — a really lovely boy.
“You know, you look at all the photos, he’s smiling because he was always happy. It’s just comforting. Jimmy is comforting. It reminds me that Jimmy will be forever young.
“He’ll never change from that photo. I see lots of Jimmy’s friends grown up — adults with children. He will always be forever young.”
Margaret went on: “Jimmy’s life was just a fabulous 16 years.
“In all that time, I’d never had to tell him off.
“He would come in from school with the biggest smile on his face.
“He’d done painting jobs, gardening jobs, he wanted to help people.
“When Jimmy was killed, there was a carpet left around the corner. It belonged to the local homeless man and we didn’t know why it was there, but Jimmy used to give this man money and food, and this carpet was actually his bed.
Wannabe gangster Fahri’s lyrics seem to contain bloodthirsty references to the 2008 murder which shocked Britain
“He left it for Jimmy. Jimmy used to light up the room when he came in. The teachers loved him. He had lots of friends. He was respected.
“If anyone was being bullied, they would go to Jimmy.
“The day that he lost his life, for me, he became this angel.”
Margaret praised our investigation into Fahri and questioned how he was “allowed to get as far as he has” in releasing his vile drill tunes.
She said of his lyrics — which appear to reference the savage attack on her son: “With those words he is probably referencing Jimmy, but he will say he’s not.”
Millwall fan and former altar boy Jimmy was attacked at a bakery by Fahri, then aged 19, who had gone in and started an argument.

The wannabe gangster hurled a Pyrex dish at 6ft 4in Jimmy, severing an artery and killing him.
He pleaded not guilty to murder but was convicted after a two-week trial at the Old Bailey in 2009.
His budding music career began after the Parole Board released him on licence in May 2023.
On his track Dispersal, Fahri brazenly raps: “Never understood a life ’til you took a life.”
In a sick clip on TikTok, he says: “Stuck it on a man and watched him melt like Ben and Jerry’s.”
And in another of his seven released songs, he raps: “Ever see a man’s soul fly from his eyes and his breath gone?
If anyone was being bullied, they would go to Jimmy. The day that he lost his life, for me, he became this angel

“S***, I wanted more, it made it less wrong. Seeing blood spilt, same floor he was left on.”
Margaret told us: “Jimmy wasn’t left on the floor. Jimmy, bless him, was so scared he hid in a cupboard and his last breath was in a cupboard in a pool of blood.
“But it doesn’t matter whether he’s talking about Jimmy or not.
“They are terrible words for anyone and for our young people to have to hear them.
“I think Fahri is just trying to make himself look like a celebrity. He is beyond words. I pray with all my heart, this doesn’t do that.
“He should be ashamed of himself, and I’m sure his parents, I like to think, are ashamed of him too.

Margaret Mizen
“It’s about what this is doing to our young people. They’re hearing it. They’re glamorising it.”
“I go to schools all the time. I’m in a primary school today and we need to do all we can to encourage young people not to give them the tools to go out and commit these crimes because they think it’s fun, without realising it destroys lives.
“Jake Fahri might not think his life is destroyed, but it is.
“I describe him in schools always as a bit of a thug, because that’s what he is, and it sounds to me like he’s an even greater thug now.”
Margaret has also demanded the BBC, which promoted Fahri’s music, implement better vetting procedures for anonymous rappers.
Radio 1Xtra featured two songs on Theo Johnson’s BBC Introducing show last year.

Margaret said: “They have questions to answer.
“They need to really look deep into what’s going on on their radio channels. And I think they need to stand up and be a voice for change and stop these things.”
The BBC previously denied airing songs featuring lyrics which glorified the murder.
4 weeks agoLatest NewsComments Off on BBC is obsessed with banning ‘hurty words’ but welcomes killer glorifying crimes – moral bankruptcy can’t be ignored
HAS the BBC completely lost its marbles? I ask because our esteemed national broadcaster, paid for by you and me, seems to have a bad dose of moral schizophrenia.
One minute, the BBC is obsessed with “hurty words”, racing to remove people from their airwaves for the slightest infraction when it comes to views they don’t like, on everything from race or trans rights to Israel and climate change.
Jake Fahri served a life sentence for the unprovoked murder of 16-year-old schoolboy Jimmy Mizengavin rodgers/pixelJimmy was murdered in South London in 2008[/caption]
The case caused shockwaves after Fahri — then aged 19 and with a long history of violence — attacked Mizen and his brother in a bakery, smashing a glass dish into his neck and killing him.
Now 35, Fahri was released from his life sentence in 2023 when he embarked on a career as a drill rapper.
His lyrics, like most of this musical genre, openly glorify knife crime and — even worse — appear to contain multiple references to Jimmy’s murder, with lines such as “Stuck it on a man and watched him melt like Ben and Jerry’s” and “Sharpen up my blade, I’ve got to keep those necessary.”
So here we are, forced to pay our licence fee for a BBC that refuses to allow anyone they disagree with on air while a killer is welcomed with open arms.
BBC journalists must not refer to Hamas as the terrorists they are.
Anyone who questions the Beeb’s climate change hysteria soon finds themselves banished, while Graham Linehan, creator of Father Ted, lost all his work for refusing to pretend that “trans women” are women (which they are not).
How can all these people find themselves persona non grata but a convicted murderer seemingly glorifying his crime gets a free pass?
Why is “misgendering” someone an instant red card but bragging about stabbing someone to death fine and dandy?
What on earth is going on at the BBC?
I don’t want to risk turning into Mary Whitehouse or an ageing judge asking who The Beatles are.
After all, I’m a strong advocate of freedom of speech and would never want any music genre or art form banned.
Yet the BBC has tough questions to answer about why your and my money is being spent promoting music that glorifies violence.
The BBC has tough questions to answer about why your and my money is being spent promoting music that glorifies violence
This isn’t 1957, when American TV refused to show Elvis Presley below the waist, so fearful were they that his gyrating pelvis would corrupt the nation’s youth.
And it isn’t 1984, when Radio 1 DJ Mike Read refused to play Frankie Goes To Hollywood’s hit Relax because it was, y’know, about sex.
I’m not getting in a tizz about seeing a bare nipple or hearing a racy lyric.
But drill music is the soundtrack of real-life criminal gangs armed with knives, machetes and guns, threatening, maiming and even murdering rivals — and anyone else who happens to get in their way.
Again and again we hear how yet another young teen has been stabbed after a drill rap video by his gang “provoked” a counter-attack by rivals.
Indeed, police are so concerned about the link between this music and real-life knife violence that taxpayers fund the Met to the tune of £1.4million to monitor online drill music.
‘Stench of hypocrisy’
They took down 315 drill videos from YouTube in just one year over fears they could incite more stabbings.
Meanwhile, drill and rap tracks were linked to 252 defendants over three years for offences including gang killings.
Yet at the very same time, BBC licence fee payers are funding Radio 1Extra to promote this music to listeners, and BBC DJ Theo Johnson is calling this killer rapper an “up-and-coming star”.
This is degenerate madness.
Yes, you can argue that Fahri has paid his debt to society after 14 years behind bars. You can even argue that ex-prisoners must be allowed a chance at redemption.
Yet, far from expressing remorse, Fahri is seemingly bragging about and attempting to profit from his heinous crime.
The BBC insists it follows “strict editorial guidelines” and that BBC 1Xtra “does not glamorise violence”.
That, we now know, is blatantly untrue.
The stench of hypocrisy and moral bankruptcy coming out of Broadcasting House is becoming impossible to ignore.

THERE was much joy on all sides at news of a ceasefire deal between Israel and Hamas, due to start on Sunday – 470 days since the October 7 massacre.
If my loved ones were among Hamas’s hostages, there is nothing I wouldn’t do to get them safely home, while the innocent Palestinian civilians also crave an end to the war.
But negotiating with terrorists and paying ransoms, which is what this deal is, may turn out to be a price too high to pay.
More than 1,000 criminals and terrorists will be freed from Israeli jails, while billions in aid will pour into Gaza, only to be stolen and used to build up Hamas’s fighting machine once again.
There will be a change in US presidents next week, but we know Hamas has not changed. Their aim is still to wipe Israel from existence, and every Jewish person with it. And the West is next on their list.
Even if this ceasefire holds, this war isn’t over.
GettyTulip Siddiq has been named in THREE probes in Bangladesh amid a corruption row[/caption]
Was it Mum or Dad – or was it some bloke who’s linked to your dodgy aunt in Bangladesh?
Who can put their hand on their heart and honestly say that this hasn’t happened to them? Oh, sorry, literally EVERYONE can. Except Tulip Siddiq, apparently.
Her aunt, the former PM Sheikh Hasina, and her family are accused of embezzling billions from Bangladesh.
You really couldn’t make this stuff up. Even Netflix would turn down this screenplay for being too outlandish.
Siddiq insists she’s done nothing wrong, but now the focus is on the PM’s judgment as he’s lost his Chief of Staff, his Transport Secretary and a Treasury minister – all in just six months.
At this rate, he might need to install a turnstile at No10.

4 weeks agoLatest NewsComments Off on Seven quick steps to help decimate debt in 2025 including unlocking £630 hidden cash
IF you overspent at Christmas, rest assured you’re not alone.
One in ten of us will still be paying off our festive debts in June, but you don’t have to be among them.
GettyStart to solve your debt problems by creating an honest list of all debts, repayments, and essential expenses like rent, bills, and food[/caption]
Here are seven simple ways to get on top of what you owe.
1. FACE FACTS: Make a brutally honest list of all your debts and monthly repayments.
Include the items you MUST pay, such as mortgage or rent, utility bills, food and council tax.
Finally, work out your income and how much, if anything, you have spare each month to go towards debt repayments.
This will show if you need to cut costs further, perhaps by getting your groceries at a discount supermarket like Lidl instead of the bigger chains.
GettyCutting back on spending – such as ditching your daily cup of coffee – could save an average of £120[/caption]
2. REIN IN YOUR SPENDING: It can be tempting but buying new things you don’t need will only get you further into the red — or extend your repayment period.
Aim to spend not a single penny more than you need to, so ditch daily coffees, nights out and new clothes.
SAVE: An average of £120.
GettyShift credit card debt to new cards with 0 per cent interest, which could save £100s each month[/caption]
3. GO FOR ZERO: Credit cards are one of the toughest debts to clear.
Making only the minimum payment on a £3,000 debt can take you an incredible 27 YEARS to pay off.
Instead, shift your credit card debt to a card with 0 per cent interest and pay off as much as you can each month.
However, it is vital you don’t buy anything else on the card or you will lose the 0 per cent rate.
SAVE: Average £100 per month on interest charges.
4. CLEAR YOUR CLUTTER: One in three of us plan to sell unwanted items this January, with eBay estimating the average Brit could make £630 listing their umwanted items online.
Check whether you will be charged seller fees or if you get to keep all the cash you make.
And remember to follow the safety rules for each site.
MAKE: Up to £630.
Getty
5. FIX CASH ‘LEAKS’: A monthly Netflix subscription or a weekly takeaway may not seem like a significant spend each month, but over the course of a year it can add up to hundreds of pounds.
Check your bank statements and identify where your little money “leaks” are, then stop subscriptions, direct debits and extra spending. Use the cash saved to tackle your debt.
SAVE: Average of £300 per year.
6. SEEK SUPPORT: Anyone struggling to get out of debt can check if they are entitled to extra help.
