After concerns a George Home Baby Wales posed “a risk of choking”, Asda recalled the item on January 14.
The supermarket revealed it has “the potential” to release a “metal bar used to hold the mirror and balls in place”.
The supermarket has urged anyone with the product to “please stop using it immediately”.
And return it to their nearest Asda store.
“You do not need a receipt”, the retailer added.
The affected barcode is: “5063089161265”.
An Asda spokesperson said: “We have found that in a small number of cases, this product may pose a risk of choking due to the potential release of the metal bar used to hold the mirror and balls in place.
“If you have purchased a George Home Baby Walker – barcode 5063089161265 – please stop using it immediately and bring it back to your nearest store where you will be given a refund. You do not need your receipt.
“We are very sorry for any inconvenience caused. If you would like any further information, please contact Asda Customer Relations – 0800 952 0101.”
It comes after both Asda and Sainsbury’s issued an urgent recall over a batch of McGhee’s Family Bakers 6 Scottish Brown Rolls.
The supermarkets urged soya allergy sufferers not to consume the product due to a “packaging error” that could pose a “possible health risk”.
Food Standards Scotland (FSS) has also alerted Brits of the recall of McGhee’s Family Bakers 6 Scottish Brown Rolls, as several packs were shipped including white rolls which do contain soya.
In a post on January 10 the agency said: “McGhee’s Family Bakers are recalling packs of 6 Scottish Brown Rolls.
“Due to a packaging error, several packs include white rolls which contain soya.
“This means the product is a possible health risk for anyone with an allergy to soya.”
ffected batches are those that have a best before date of 12 January, 2025, and batch number LS5007.
FSS added: “This product may contain soya making it a possible health risk for anyone with an allergy to soya.
“If you have bought the above product and have an allergy to soya do not eat it.
“Instead, return it to the store from where it was bought for a full refund.

‘Once in a century’ Pompeii discovery as ancient luxury SPA is saved from ashes with thermal baths & stunning mosaic
SCIENTISTS have made a “once in a lifetime” discovery in Pompeii after unearthing a stunning ancient luxury spa with thermal baths and stunning mosaic designs.
The lavish private bath complex has been found at the heart of a massive residence that got buried under a suffocating blanket of ash during Pompeii’s final moments.
![Excavated private thermal baths in Pompeii.](https://www.thesun.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2025/01/private-thermal-baths-complex-discovered-964458405.jpg?strip=all&w=960)

![Excavated thermal complex in Pompeii.](https://www.thesun.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2025/01/large-thermal-complex-inside-private-964454966.jpg?strip=all&w=960)
Built over 2,000 years ago, the baths – featuring hot, warm and cold rooms – could host up to 30 guests.
They would relax in the spa before heading into an adjacent, black-walled banquet hall, decorated with scenes from Greek mythology.
A central courtyard with a large basin adds to the splendour of the house, which is believed to have been owned by a member of Pompeii’s elite in its final years.
The complex is among the largest and most complex private spa sectors known so far in Pompeii.
The baths were unearthed in Regio IX, a large central area of Pompeii Park still unexplored where major archaeological excavations are currently underway.
Gabriel Zuchtriegel, director of the Pompeii Archaeological Park, said the private spa complex allowed wealthy habitants of Pompeii to take a bath first and then have a banquet.
Guests would shed their robes in a changing room.
They would then relax in the Calidarium, a room with a hot bath, followed by the Tepidarium or warm room, before taking a plunge in a pool of cold water in the Frigidarium.
Afterwards, guests would dine by candlelight in a black-walled banqueting hall decorated with scenes from Greek mythology.
“This discovery underscores how Roman houses were more than private residences,” Zuchtriegel said.
“They were stages for public life and self-promotion.”
The top archaeologist said the layout recalled scenes from the Roman novel The Satyricon, where banquets and baths were central to displays of wealth and status.
Decorated with frescoes, the complex draws inspiration from Greek culture, emphasizing themes of leisure and erudition.
Zuchtriegel said: “The homeowner sought to create a spectacle, transforming their home into a Greek-style palace and gymnasium.”
Recently, archaeologists working in the same area found a bakery, a laundry shop, two villas and the bones of three people who died during the volcanic eruption of Mount Vesuvius.
The catastrophic event destroyed both the ancient Roman cities of Pompeii and Herculaneum.
The remains of more than 1,000 victims have been found during excavations in Pompeii.
This includes two bodies who were found clutching jewellery and coins and a younger man.
What happened to Pompeii?
POMPEII was once a very prosperous ancient Roman city on the Gulf of Naples, in Italy's Campania region.
On August 4 79 A.D., the volcano Mount Vesuvius erupted and completely buried the Roman city under a thick carpet of ash, killing Pompeii’s population.
Around 2,000 people are believed to have been killed in Pompeii.
It was home to 11,000 people and boasted a complex water system, amphitheatre, gymnasium and even a port.
The thermal energy released was said to be a hundred thousand times that of the nuclear blasts at Hiroshima-Nagasaki.
Over the next 250 years, it was a hotbed of scientific activity, with researchers uncovering several intact buildings and even wall paintings.
To this day, scientists are finding cultural, architectural and human remains on the banks of Mount Vesuvius.
POMPEII VICTIMS’ BLOOD BOILED
A 2022 study revealed that those who were unlucky enough to have perished in the disaster died an even more painful death than originally thought.
A study of residue on skeletons found that the people were not suffocated by ash but actually boiled alive until their heads exploded.
Back in the 1980s and 90s, archaeologists discovered hundreds of skeletal remains of people who had huddled at the waters edge in Herculaneum hoping to escape the wrath of the volcano.
Most experts used to agree that the victims died from being suffocated in ash clouds.
However, a more recent study revealed that the super-heated gas that tumbled down the mountainside would have boiled people instantly.
The remains were covered in black and red residue and contained an unusually high amount of iron.
This indicated that blood had been boiled on the bones.
Many of the skulls found showed signs of exploding outwards and had lots of residue left on them.
It is believed that when the victims’ heads exploded their brains would have instantly turned to lumps of ash.

Lewis Hamilton’s amazing women, from longterm love Nicole Sherzinger to rumoured romance with actress Sofia Vergara
HE’S sport’s most eligible bachelor – and once again he’s been linked to one of the world’s most beautiful women.
The man in question, F1 legend Lewis Hamilton, 40, is now reportedly dating a Hollywood actress.

The seven-time world champion was spotted on a dinner date in New York City with Modern Family beauty, Sofia Vergara.
The couple looked smitten and oh-so-flirty as they enjoyed a meal together, according to TMZ.
They sat next to one another at a table by a window, with onlookers revealing that Sofia was incredibly spellbound by the racing car driver.
According to onlookers, Sofia was so deep in conversation with Lewis that she “barely touched her food”.
The pair were joined by some pals, before flirting outside the eatery until Sofia headed off.
Sofia, 52, isn’t the first glam women to be linked with Hamilton.
SunSport looks at his amazing romances through the years – starting with his most recent.
Back in 2023, Hamilton struck a romance with Colombian singer Shakira, after she split from former Barcelona footballer Gerard Pique.
Shakira
Lewis was spotted on a boat ride in Miami with the pop sensation.
That latest came days after they enjoyed dinner together, although The Sun Online understands the relationship never went past the friend zone.
She was last seen cheering Hamilton on at the Spanish Grand Prix in Barcelona back in the summer.

Nicole Sherzinger
The Pussycat Dolls beauty is often referred to as the love of his life.
After meeting at the MTV VMA’s, their on/off romance spanned seven years.
However, they finally called it quits in 2016 with reports claiming Sherzinger, 46, was unhappy that he hadn’t proposed to her.
Amusingly, Hamilton once admitted he preferred his cars to his dates.
“My cars are my babies,” he revealed.
“I used to say, when I had a girlfriend, ‘I’m taking one of the girls out, so you can come if you want, but you come second when it comes to the cars.”

Rita Ora
If his dalliances were like races, this one might have been his fastest lap.
In 2016, Hamilton dated You Only Love Me singer Ora, 34, for a brief minute.
Reports suggested she was infatuated with him and they even went into a studio to record some music together in 2017.
She cheered him on at the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix on the weekend of his 31st birthday, but they never confirmed they were an item.

Rihanna
Another one, perhaps, to put in the friends category.
In 2015, Hamilton and the Umbrella singer were inseparable – taking in the delights of Barbados and New York City together.
Although, the Mercedes driver was quick to shoot down the rumour mill.
“You know, I’ve known Ri for a long time,” he told E!
“We’ve been friends for a while. We get to hang out every now and again…”
Reports suggested he was willing to take their relationship to the next level, but Rihanna, 36, didn’t want to commit.

Barbara Palvin
As supermodels go, Palvin is as glam as they get.
A Victoria’s Secret Angel and an Armani Beauty ambassador, she was once rumoured to be dating Brazil superstar Neymar.
In 2017, the 31-year-old Hungarian beauty was spotted partying with Lewis after the Monaco Grand Prix.
A year later, Lewis shared a video on Instagram of the pair walking down a hotel corridor in Budapest.

Camila Kendra
Back in 2021, Hamilton was said to be a in hush-hush courtship with Instagram beauty Camila, 29.
She sparked rumours the pair were more than friends by sharing a picture taken in his home wearing his shirt in an Instagram post.
The Dominican Republic stunner was previously in a relationship with Tyler Cameron, a reality TV star off US show The Bachelor.
Last year, she was spotted holding hands with Chelsea footballer Ben Chilwell, although their romance soon fizzed out.

Danielle Lloyd
Danielle and Lewis have stayed close friends, well after their split.
They got together a few years before she was crowned Miss England in 2002, after meeting at celebrity haunt 10 Rooms.
But their six-month romance petered out because of the long-distance between them.
She later married former Spurs star Jamie O’Hara in 2012, but they divorced two years later.
Danielle, 41, has been seen cheering him on Silverstone in the recent years, proving there’s no hard feelings.

Lotta Hintsa
A former Miss Finland ticked all the boxes for Lewis.
Lotta, 36, is the daughter of former McLaren doctor Aki Hintsa, who passed away in 2016.
Hamilton and Lotta were inseparable in the paddock and it was suggested they were an item.
She played it more candid, insisting they were just mates.

Sofia Richie
Style is important to Lewis, who is a regular at Paris Fashion Week every year.
It was no surprise to see him hook up with Sofia, the daughter of crooner Lionel Richie, in 2017.
They were regularly spotted together, after she split with his pal Justin Bieber.
The 26-year-old has since married British record executive Elliot Grange.

Winnie Harlow
The supermodel, who suffers from skin condition vitiligo, was spied getting cosy with Hamilton in 2016 at the GQ Awards in London.
Canadian stunner Winnie, 30, and Lewis then stepped out together at the CFDA Fashion Awards in New York in 2018.
Again, Lewis has said they’re friends – but the flirting in public said otherwise, according to reports.

Secrets from Princess Diana and Charles’ honeymoon & never-seen-before royal docs are revealed
SECRETS from Princess Diana’s and then Prince Charles’ honeymoon have been revealed for the first time.
The royal couple made a trip to the Mediterranean as part of their post-wedding celebrations in August 1981.
![Prince Charles and Princess Diana on their honeymoon cruise.](https://www.thesun.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2025/01/prince-charles-prince-wales-princess-437043660.jpg?strip=all&w=960)

![Portrait of Mervyn Wycherley, former royal chef.](https://www.thesun.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2025/01/former-royal-chef-mervyn-wycherley-964207023.jpg?strip=all&w=960)
But new photos have emerged showing menu cards from their time on the Royal Yacht Britannia.
Other pictures include a state dinner with then Egyptian President Anwar El-Sadat a fortnight prior to his assassination.
It comes as The Sun’s royal editor Matt Wilkinson was joined by ex-royal protection officer Ken Wharfe and Diana and Charles’ former head chef Mervyn Wycherley for our Royal Exclusive show.
Mervyn told the show: “Well, I was very lucky. I’d worked with Her Majesty the Queen Elizabeth before for ten years, and I transferred over on for the honeymoon.
“I became their head chef on that day and stayed with them for all their married life.
“We were very small staff in those days. There was a dresser, two policemen, private secretary and everybody travels with them and and of course – 250 sailors.
“So it was a very private honeymoon.”
Mervyn described how the couple were “quite simplistic” when it came to their choices of food.
He added: “They’re funny. The food is quite simplistic.
“They love simple foods, but always very good quality foods and very organic, and it’s always been the same, that all of the family have an interest in food, especially His Royal Highness.
“Well, to the King now he’s very, very interested in his food and enjoys having a putting it all in and with menus and all sorts of things.”
The chef also revealed how members of the Royal Family are given a menu each week with options of first, main courses and desserts.
Ken told the show: “Mervyn would write out a week at a time suggestions for both the prince and the princess at that time.
“But very often, the princess would come in and sit in the kitchen with you and whatever you’d written down in the book, you’d knock it up in the kitchen and she would eat it.
“So it was quite an informal meeting really. But I think that was the whole thing about Kensington Palace, certainly from the mid 80s onwards.
“[Diana] always wanted the chef, the driver to be part of this wider family.”
It comes after an intimate letter from Diana to her sons William and Harry emerged last week – providing an insight into their sweet relationship.
The handwritten letter was addressed to the late royal’s parents’ housekeeper Violet Collison.
Violet, also known as Collie, was head housekeeper to John Spencer and Frances Roche at Park House on the Sandringham Estate in Norfolk, where Diana spent her childhood years.
The letter read: “It was so very kind of you to have given such a lovely present to Harry – we were enormously touched.”
Diana then praised the “thought” behind the gift and claimed that she “cannot thank you enough for the bibs.”
In the same letter, Diana noted that “William adores his little brother & spends the entire time pouring an endless supply of hugs & kisses over Harry”.

A BEER brewed in honour of a master craftsman who created blades for famous names in history has been pulled from shelves over claims it was “promoting knife crime.”
Stan IPA, produced by Sheffield-based Little Mesters Brewery, was a tribute to Stan Shaw, the last of the city’s famed “little mesters” who made knives for the Royals, US presidents, and rock ‘n’ roll king Elvis.

But its brewers have been forced to ditch the ale after watchdogs upheld a complaint that it was glorifying knife violence.
The row erupted over its branding, which featured a cartoon of Stan holding one of his famous knives, alongside a tap handle shaped like a blade grip.
An anonymous complaint claimed the imagery could encourage booze-fuelled violence, particularly given Sheffield is currently grappling with rising knife crime.
Research revealed that within South Yorkshire, Sheffield is the most dangerous city, with a crime rate of 91 offences per 1,000 people.
The complaint, upheld by the Portman Group, argued: “Using a knife handle as a tap handle is perhaps a step too far and could encourage alcohol-related violence.”
Stan, who passed away aged 93 in 2021, was a legend of the Steel City.
Known as the last of Sheffield’s master craftsmen, his intricate knives were prized by Queen Elizabeth II, Elvis, and even US presidents.
In 2016, he became the first cutler to receive the British Empire Medal, recognising his unmatched contribution to Sheffield’s rich industrial history.
WATCHDOG’S VERDICT
The Independent Complaints Panel admitted Little Mesters’ aim was to honour a local hero, but ruled that the beer’s design breached rules by linking booze with violent behaviour.
The panel’s chairwoman, Rachel Childs, said: “Rising rates of knife crime in the UK—and particularly Sheffield, where this marketing appeared—generate a high level of public concern.
“Any depiction of knives on alcoholic packaging must be approached with great caution.”
Knife crime is a growing crisis in Britain.
Police recorded nearly 51,000 knife-related offences in the year to June 2024, an 80% rise in the past decade.
Figures from the Office for National Statistics show knife-enabled crime has jumped 4% in the past year alone.
Sheffield has been hit hard, with frequent reports of stabbings, leaving locals on edge.
The panel said the beer’s pump clip made Stan’s knife “the central focus of the design,” with images of blades forming a circle around him.
They also noted the tap handle required punters to grip it “in a similar fashion as one might brandish a knife.”
Little Mesters Brewery hit back, saying the branding was a heartfelt tribute to Stan Shaw and Sheffield’s industrial heritage.
A spokesperson said: “We respect the decision made by the Portman Group and the important role they play in the industry.
“However, we do not agree that our branding, celebrating a master craftsman and the huge part he and other little mesters played in building industry in our fantastic city, in any way encourages antisocial behaviour or promotes knife crime.”
The brewery has now discontinued Stan IPA but remains adamant its intentions were never to glamourise violence.
Locals are divided over the decision. Some claim it’s a step too far, while others believe the brewery should’ve considered the sensitivities surrounding knife crime.
One Sheffield resident posted on Facebook: “Stan Shaw was a legend, and the beer was a brilliant way to honour him. But in a city plagued by knife violence, I can see why it’s caused a stir.”
But other locals were not happy about the decision.
A user posted: “This is absolutely ridiculous, a chuffing world we live in.”
Another added: “Long Live Stan, ignore any pathetic moron who puts 2 plus 2 and adds it up to 5 anything but 4.
“Unfortunately the world is full of people who (often) deliberately misconstrue things.”
A third sympathised with the brewery, commenting: “What an insane conclusion to draw from that label. Sorry you have to put up with these things.”
The complaint seems to have mustered a fair bit of controversy.
For now, Stan IPA has been consigned to history—just like the blades it was made to honour.
TROUBLE FOR BREWERS
Meanwhile, a major booze firm is set to slash the strength of one of its beers and drinkers will be left fuming.
The decision comes after drinks after the alcohol duty tax came into effect.
Brewers are also bracing for an upcoming change to the Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR).
EPR sees all of the estimated environmental costs associated with a product throughout its life cycle added to the price.
The first part of this, coming into effect later this year, is the Packaging Recovery Notes (PRN), which is rising from 37% to 100%.
A Packaging Recovery Note (PRN) is a document that proves packaging materials such as glass and aluminium have been recycled or recovered.
The change will see brewers producing packaged goods responsible for 100% of these fees.
Last week, The British Beer and Pub Association called on the UK government to reconsider the crippling costs of the EPR packaging scheme.
The association described the fees as “painful” and said the current estimates risk causing significant financial strain on the industry.
Pubs and brewers are also bracing themselves for an upcoming hike to employer National Insurance contributions (NICs).

Elma – who previously appeared in series five – became emotional after the pair confessed to what they’d done.
Later on, Luca gave Elma a hug as he reassured her and said to not be upset.

Elma opened up about her feelings in a confessional, saying: “I just don’t understand how he could say all the nice things he’s said the last three days and then it basically just be like, in the bin.
She sobbed: “I feel so upset. I feel like an idiot.”
Following this, Elma cried in Luca’s arms as Scott Thomas and Catherine Agbaje also offered comfort.
Irish-born Catherine remarked: “You’d think they would just consider people’s feelings.”
