The former chef admitted that last December was the worst month ever for his business in its entire 12-year history.

He explained that businesses in the hospitality industry were walking a “tight rope on a balance sheet all year round” and fears this will result in “all your favourite places closing down”.

He added: “With what’s going to happen this year, especially in hospitality, there is going to be a bloodbath which is going to ensue when that budget kicks in.”

As part of Labour’s Autumn Budget 2024, Chancellor Rachel Reeves announced the rise to employers’ national insurance tax increases from 13 per cent to 15 per cent.

The 1.2 per cent increase will impact employers with a Secondary Class 1 National Insurance contributions (NICs) liability, or with employees with earnings of at least £5,000 a year.

Foretasted to impact 1.2million employers, around 940,000 of which will see an increase to their employer NIC.

It’s aim is to “help fix the foundations of the public finances and invest in public services”.

However, the measure has resulted in Ms Reeves being accused of putting a “handbrake on the economy” by hiking taxes on employers.

She said: “I am determined to go further and faster to kickstart economic growth, which is the number one priority in our Plan for Change.

“That means generating investment, driving reform and a relentless commitment to root out waste in public spending, and today I will be pressing regulators on what more they can do to deliver growth.”

But there is no indication to say the departmental budget won’t be squeezed even further – as Sir Keir Starmer refuses to rule out further tax rises this year.

Speaking at a Prime Minister’s Questions, Mr Starmer backed Ms Reeves in pledging the budget will be “in place for many, many years to come”.

He said: “When it comes to tax she knows very well the limits of what I can say from this despatch box but we have an ironclad commitment to our fiscal rules.

“We can’t just tax our way out of the problems that they left us…”

This came after the Tory leader Kemi Badenoch, demanded the PM guarantee no new taxes in 2025 after a turbulent week in the financial markets.

Alas, he dodged the question and insisted Labour had taken “the right and difficult decisions at the Budget”.

Now Putin forced to pack out his propaganda PARADES with North Korean cannon fodder while Russian troops are massacred

MAD Vladimir Putin has been forced to pad out his pathetic parades with North Korean cannon fodder while Russian troops are being massacred on the frontline.

Amongst the pomp, propaganda and weaponry, North Korean troops are to march through Moscow’s Victory Day parade for the first time, according to insiders.

May 9 parades are held throughout Russia as a celebration of its defeat of Nazi Germany in 1945 that Putin has turned into a pillar of his nearly quarter-century in power and a justification of his invasion of Ukraine.

Victory Day is a means to showcase to the world the might of the Russian military machine, recall wartime sacrifice and garner national pride – all led by a showcase event in Moscow‘s Red Square.

Dozens of Putin’s North Korean cannon fodder are to join the parade in May as the mad dictator desperately attempts to show a substantial military – despite the total casualties of Russian troops standing at over 771,000.

Russian sources revealed news of North Korea’s participation in the parade to Japanese broadcaster NHK, adding that a military band is also to take part in a music event in the Russian capital in late August.

It will be the first time ever that North Korean military participates in World War II events in Russia.

Russia’s Defence Minister Andrei Belousov visited Pyongyang in November, where he apparently invited North Korean military units to take part in the 80th Victory Day celebrations.

The Putin puppet said on Wednesday that military personnel from 19 unspecified countries had been invited to the Victory Day parade -without sharing who they were.

He claimed that ten countries have confirmed their participation, adding that seven are former Soviet republics.

This year’s Victory Day parade is expected to follow suit of last year’s lacklustre celebrations, where Putin vowed Russia was “always” ready to strike the West and snubbed Britain in a snarling World War 2 rant.

Questions also surround whether the parade, for the third year in a row, will include just one measly tank – reportedly an 80-year-old T-34.

Last year the mad Russian dictator did one of his shortest Victory Day speeches than ever before, lasting just seven minutes.

Putin also had his nuclear briefcase on show in Red Square as he issued a chilling warning of a new global war.

Plain-clothed aides carried the nuclear briefcase or ‘football’ – which could be used to start World War Three – as well as protection shields to use in the event of an assassination attempt against the dictator.

Three of his hulking Yars atomic missile launchers also thundered over the cobbles in a show of force to the West.

The military parade broadcast on smart TVs was also reportedly targeted by anti-war hackers for at least 20 seconds.

Footage suddenly appeared across Russia showing the reality of the war in Ukraine – fields of dead troops, wrecked equipment and scores of helmets of fallen soldiers.

It also lined up images of Moscow’s troops in a ‘Z’ formation next to German World War 2 soldiers forming a Nazi swastika.

Kim Jong-un’s troops continue to be sacrificed in Putin’s war as it was revealed North Koreans are being made to file through booby-trapped fields and blown up one-by-one like human mine detectors.

Drone footage has recorded many images of dead soldiers thought to be North Koreans[/caption]

In the first account of close-up combat with North Koreans, Lieutenant Colonel “Leopard” said the troops are being used for Russia’s “meat grinder” strategy where the commanders are “unfazed by loss of life”.

There is a developing pattern of North Koreans being been sent on these effective suicide missions by the Russians.

Footage emerged recently of Kim Jong-un’s fighters being sent to jog through snowy no-man’s-land and fatally soak up Ukrainian ammo.

On a battlefield in Kursk, some two dozen men thought to be North Korean fighters huddle together before jogging out towards enemy lines.

Ukrainian veteran Vitaliy, 35, told The Times it was “like a dream for our mortars and machine gunners”.

A diary found on a dead North Korean soldier also illuminated the twisted sacrificial mentality that has been drilled into them by officials.

One entry read: “Defending the homeland is a sacred duty of every citizen and the highest mission.”

“I will join the front lines of this operation and sacrifice my life.”

Why is Kim helping Putin?

Kim Jong-un is giving Putin military aid after the two leaders signed an agreement to assist each other earlier this year.

They vowed their countries would support each other in the face of “aggression” against either one.

This pact was reached during Putin’s visit to the North Korean capital Pyongyang, his first since 2000.

Kim said the agreement took their relationship to “a new, high level of alliance”.

Both leaders feel they are in conflict with the West, and that they form a stronger force working together.

Putin has felt increasingly threatened since Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, because Nato has given Ukraine increasing permission to use its heavy weapons.

Nato has also been expanding, with Finland and Sweden joining in 2022, leading to Putin feeling encircled and outnumbered.

He will feel that he needs to nurture all of his ally relationships in the increasingly tense global context.

North Korean troops tried to thwart Ukraine’s latest push into the Kursk region by storming the Ukrainian village of Makhnovka on Tuesday, in order to cut them off.

They attempted to out-flank the offensive’s forces and cut off some of Ukraine’s “best-equipped” brigades.

A previous Russian attempt to do the same thing had failed, with Zelenksy claiming on Saturday that an entire battalion of North Koreans and Russian paratroopers had been wiped out there.

This time, a few hundred North Koreans managed to push into the village, and Leopard’s battalion was called up to reclaim it.

“Our storm troops were sent in to conduct a counterattack,” he said.

They watched the North Koreans through drone cameras, and saw them driving pensioners out into the snow in order to take shelter themselves.

“Metre by metre, our infantry moved under the cover of the tanks and cleared the streets.

“They manoeuvred so that they wouldn’t be hit by the artillery.”

The colonel said the North Koreans were mixed in amongst Russian troops in an attempt to condeal their identity.

But the Ukrainians can tell them apart because the Koreans “don’t use drones yet, only the Russians”, Leopard said.

“But I suspect they are starting to learn this, and the longer the war drags on, the more likely they are to innovate.”

Leopard’s men successfully reclaimed the village with a firestorm of drones, vehicles and infantry.

He revealed that, unlike the Russians, the North Koreans refused to be taken alive.

They would either fight to the death or run and hide in the trees – although they seemed not to grasp that the Ukrainians could spot them easily with drones.

This account of intimate conflict with Kim Jong-un’s dispatched fighters is unprecedented as previous engagement has been mainly through remote drones.

An initial force of around 12,000 North Korean troops were shipped over to Russia, as first reported at the beginning of November.

After a training period, evidence began to emerge in December that they had begun actively fighting on the front line.

They have been most active in the Kursk region of Russia, where Zelenksy launched a second surprise offensive.

South Korean intelligence reported last month that Kim is plotting to send even more North Koreans over to the front line.

I was a North Korean soldier - troops will be used as 'human shields'

A FORMER North Korean soldier said the troops in Russia will be looking to escape the battle in Ukraine “from the beginning”.

Speaking to The Sun before North Korean troops were deployed in Ukraine, Hyun-Seung Lee, a soldier in the Kim army in the early 2000s, said the soldiers in North Korea will be forced to go the war.

He said they will be young, so they won’t be that committed to the fighting.

He said: “It will be individuals at first, but more like as time passes, I think there’ll be like a larger number of group defections, including officers.”

That’s because, Lee says, the Russians will likely treat them as “expendable”  and even more poorly than their own troops.

He said: “Russian soldiers don’t respect them as their fellow warriors

“They will treat them as their human shields.”

Eventually, the North Koreans will realise the hierarchy and how they are being seen as “disposable” by the Russians and look to flee, Lee said.

He added: “I think they’ll die without any impact.

“Putin and Kim Jong-un would expect more from them… they won’t get the expected results.”

“So, [troops will be told] ‘don’t pick up any material from Ukraine government or in the South Korean language’ and ‘they [claims in the propaganda they hear] are all fake’, and ‘it’s not true’ if someone defects, or ‘if you’re arrested, you’ll be tortured’.”

But Lee believes the soldiers will be susceptible to any psy-ops the Ukrainian government uses to try and get troops to defect.

He added: “I would say, if Ukraine’s government conducts a psychological strategy against North Korean soldiers then the chances are really high [of defection] because they don’t have real motivation. It’s not for money, right? They are not getting paid.

“And obviously it’s [their motivation] not defending your country, and then your parents, and yourself. So it’s just that they are mobilised by the North Korean supreme commander Kim Jong-un.”

Moment mouse is spotted at Old Trafford during Man Utd’s win over Southampton as fans fume ‘this is disgusting’

A MOUSE was spotted at Old Trafford during Manchester United’s late comeback win over Southampton.

The discovery was made by a fan sitting in the Stretford End, who shared a video to a popular social media account.

The video has been viewed more than 4,000 times and counting.

United, who were 10 minutes away from the embarrassment of losing to Southampton at home before Amad Diallo’s 12-minute hat-trick, disgusted fans in more ways than one.

During last night’s match, an X account user claimed that a “rat is at Old Trafford. Yes it’s real 😅.”

Attached was a video of a field mouse stuck between the concrete floor and the back of a seat in front.

It showed an empty pitch, leaving many to speculate that it was taken before the game or at half-time.

The fan didn’t alert those around them in the clip, but thought it was best saved for social media.

The video has been viewed more than 4,000 times, with one fan writing: “This is disgusting!”

Another fan wrote: “So gross 🤢”, while a third said: “It’s all falling, reset everything from the start.”

Meanwhile a rodent was seen scurrying across United’s pitch, with Saints keeper Aaron Ramsdale spotted in the far distance.

Manchester United declined to comment when approached by SunSport.

It’s believed the rodent problem stems from Old Trafford being squeezed between a railway line and a canal.

It comes after The Mail reported a mice infestation at Old Trafford in December.

Rodent droppings were reportedly found in food kiosks and plush suites during a hygiene inspection.

While more were unearthed during checks of a ground-level corporate suite.

As a result, United’s hygiene rating dropped from four to two stars at the end of 2024.

In November, fans spotted a dead rat in a puddle under a seat.

The club have now been ordered to make drastic improvements to bring up their hygiene rating.

And officials have now partnered with pest controllers to solve the issue.

They are believed to be making up to five visits per week as United aim to get a full five-star rating like most Premier League clubs.

The shocking discovery comes just one year after the Red Devils were given a ONE-star hygiene ratings by inspectors.

SunSport revealed guests were allegedly served raw chicken during an event at Old Trafford and subsequently became ill.

United only gained their recent four-star rating in November.

And the rodent incident is a setback in their quest to regain their status as the league’s top club.

Fans have long thought the Theatre of Dreams could do with a lick of paint, with the ancient arena even leaking water during a recent press conference with manager Ruben Amorim.

It comes after water has been seen flooding down from a damaged roof at recent games.

Ratcliffe is now hoping to build a new £2billion mega stadium while revamping the surrounding area.

The Red Devils sit 12th in the table after just seven wins in 21 games this term.

UK economy downgraded for 2024 but will still be ahead of France and Germany for next two years, says report

UK economic growth has been downgraded for last year – but will stay ahead of EU rivals for the next two years, figures show.

Experts at the International Monetary Fund say that the domestic economy grew by just 0.9 per cent in 2024 having previously forecast 1.1 per cent.

Chancellor Rachel Reeves speaking at a press conference.

Rachel Reeves vows to boost living standards by growing economy[/caption]

The growth reading was predicted before official figures show UK GDP was lower-than-expected at 0.1 per cent in November.

The warning from the IMF comes amid market turmoil in recent days where borrowing costs jumped and the pound slumped.

But in welcome news for the Chancellor Rachel Reeves the IMF has upgraded economic growth for this year – edging up slightly to 1.6 per cent.

The organisation has predicted a figure of just 1.5 per cent in October last year.

Overall, the IMF report says global growth will be 3.3 per cent this year and next – which included a 0.1 per cent upgrade this year.

The UK though will stay ahead of European rivals Germany, France and Italy in terms of growth.

Chancellor Rachel Reeves said: “The UK is forecast to be the fastest growing major European economy over the next two years and the only G7 economy, apart from the US, to have its growth forecast upgraded for this year.

“I will go further and faster in my mission for growth through intelligent investment and relentless reform, and deliver on our promise to improve living standards in every part of the UK through the plan for change.”

The IMF said that declining inflation to 4.2 per cent and 3.5 per cent next year will help “draw a close” to global disruptions of recent years.

The Covid pandemic and invasion of Ukraine sparked a major inflation hike not seen for four decades.

Mystery of Pyramid Mountain…the eerily perfect frozen structure 2,000 miles from anywhere at centre of alien conspiracy

TUCKED away in a corner of Antarctica lies a mysterious mountain peak that looks exactly like a man-made pyramid with four symmetrical sides.

The snowy structure of the white continent has a striking resemblance to the great pyramids of Egypt – and has been the centre of eerie conspiracy theories.

Conspiracy theorists claim the mountain was made by aliens (computer-generated imagery)[/caption] Map of Antarctica showing the location of Pyramid Mountain, subject of alien conspiracy theories.

It was first discovered by the British Antarctic Expedition of 1910-1913, but only became famous in 2016 when its eerie pictures went viral on the internet.

People from all around the world put forward their bizarre explanations to justify the shape of Antarctica’s pyramid mountain.

With a height of 4,150 feet, all four sides of the mountain are steep and appear to be in perfect symmetry.

The peak is part of the Ellsworth Mountains – the highest mountain range in Antarctica.

Soon the location of the mountain, which is 2,000 miles from its newest country New Zealand, became a hub for conspiracy theories.

Some said there used a be an ancient civilization once around the peak which was destroyed over the years.

Others simply claimed that the peak serves as a base station for aliens from around the universe.

Some history lovers even suggested it was part of a secret Nazi base built during World War Two.

One social media user said: “This structure belongs to the civilization which existed before the flood. Around 10,000 years ago Antarctica was warm.”

Another commented: “Illuminati confirmed.”

Someone else asked: “Wait how they moved the pyramids from Egypt to Antarctica?”

However, mountain experts debunked all conspiracy theories after revealing the real reason why the mountain has a perfect pyramid shape.

Experts say that millions of years of erosion due to high winds have likely carved the sides of the mountain cliff, giving it a distinct pyramid shape.

Others suggest that the rocks underwent what they call freeze-thaw erosion.

Over time, water and snow can slip through cracks in the mountain rocks and freeze.

When they expand after becoming ice, they can force the gaps to grow larger, and the resulting pressure can force large chunks of the mountain to fall off.

Three of the pyramidal mountain’s sides appear to have eroded at the same rate, while the fourth side — the eastern ridge — formed independently, Live Science reports.

Speaking to IFL Science, geologist Dr Mitch Darcy said: “The pyramid-shaped structures are located in the Ellsworth Mountains, which is a range more than 400 km long, so it’s no surprise there are rocky peaks cropping out above the ice.

“The peaks are clearly composed of rock, and it’s a coincidence that this particular peak has that shape.

“It’s not a complicated shape, so it’s not a special coincidence either. By definition, it is a nunatak, which is simply a peak of rock sticking out above a glacier or an ice sheet.

“This one has the shape of a pyramid, but that doesn’t make it a human construction.”

It comes after a volcano surrounded by a dark green forest left explorers baffled by its perfectly circular appearance.

The iconic Mount Taranaki volcano in New Zealand’s North Island is so striking, that it once doubled as Mount Doom in the “Lord of the Rings” and Mt Fuji in “The Last Samurai”.

The lonely, almost perfectly conical volcano sits in an eerily circular forest containing thousands of warped and ancient kamahi trees fighting for space.

The trees are extremely twisted and deformed as a result of having to grow over and around the fossilised remains of trees that were destroyed in past eruptions.

The trees are also covered in hanging mosses and liverworts, adding to their creepy appearance.

The real threat of UFOs and aliens

FOR decades, UFOs and aliens were considered to be make belief things created by people in tinfoil hats but they are now considered a threat to national security.

Long gone are those who claim conspiracy theories are all false as many are now discussed at the highest levels of government with US officials even admitting their existence.

As more and more credible witnesses continue to come forward to tell their extraordinary stories publicly.

The 2010s saw decades of stigmas around extraterrestrial life start to break down as politicians made UFO sightings a matter of national security.

Across the world, governments have also unveiled some spooky truths with some even showcasing “dead alien corpses” on display for Congress.

Researchers recently verified the legitimacy of a set of three-fingered mummies as potential evidence of “non-human” life forms.

A line-up of doctors confirmed at Mexico‘s Congress on Tuesday that the bodies, purportedly not of this Earth, were in fact real, once-living organisms.

The Pentagon also released a blockbuster 1,574 pages of real-life X-Files in 2022, related to its secretive UFO programme.

The haul includes reports into research on the biological effects of UFO sightings on humans, sets out categorisations for paranormal experiences, and studies into sci-fi-style tech.

Top UFO chief Sean Kirkpatrick told the world last year that he is set to step down from his job following his stern warning of concerning activity “in our backyard.”

The Pentagon‘s UFO analysis office launched a UFO reporting service to the public after admitting to uncovering “some things” and calling the high number of suspicious activity either a foreign power or aliens.

Navy jet footage has revealed the intriguing images of a government-confirmed UFO baffling the internet.

The United States Government launched the All-domain Anomaly Resolution Office (AARO) in 2022 to investigate reports of unidentified flying objects (UFOs).
