She was pronounced dead at Manchester Royal Infirmary on December 12.

An inquest held at South Manchester Coroners Court yesterday heard how Xena had been in the car with her pals Yasmin Tanker and Jake Bosquet.

Yasmin, who was in the passenger seat, and Jake both suffered “significant injuries”.

Jake remained in hospital for two weeks and suffered “memory loss”, the inquest heard.

The hearing heard how Xena had just bought her black BMW One Series at a police auction.

Dashcam footage from the horror crash showed GMP officers PC Nathan Lowe and PC Stephan Bielizna perform a traffic stop on Washway Road, in Sale.

They noticed Xena’s car had no insurance and was registered outside of Manchester.

A police bodycam video revealed officers spoke to the driver for “around five minutes”, during which Xena gave her mum’s insurance details.

PC Lowe asked Xena to sit in their police vehicle to scan her fingerprints to confirm her identity.

Further footage then showed Xena suddenly driving off sparking a police pursuit.

One of the officers could be heard saying “what’s she doing?” and the BMW driver reached speeds of 70mph on residential roads.

The inquest heard Xena lost control on a bend on Marsland Road at around 8.30pm and smashed into a parked car.

When asked about the risk factor of the traffic stop by assistant coroner Mr Adrian Farrow, PC Bielizna said: “There was nothing that I foreseen that would have led to the outcome that did.”

Xena’s heartbroken mum Catherine broke down at the inquest before paying tribute to her daughter.

She described Xena as “outgoing, kind, funny, kind, loving, very generous”.

The court heard how the 20-year-old only had the car for a week after her mother bought it for her.

Catherine told the inquest she didn’t want Xena to get behind the wheel until it had gone through an inspection at a local garage set for December 4.

But Xena begged her to let her drive the car and Catherine sent her money for insurance cover.

In tears Catherine told the inquest: “When I sent the £180, I just assumed that she done it.”

The devastated mum said the last time she spoke to Xena was on a Facetime call about an hour before the horror.

She added that her daughter was “happy” with her friends in the car as they enjoyed a takeaway.

The inquest continues.
