Towie legends to reunite for new reality series ahead of show’s 15th birthday

MOVE aside Noel and Liam Gallagher, this is the sibling reunion we’ve all been waiting for.

I can reveal that The Only Way is Essex legends Sam Faiers and her sister Billie are working on a new series together, just in time for the reality show’s 15th birthday.

Billie quit her long-running ITVBe series The Family Diaries in September to give her three children the chance to grow up away from the cameras.

That came three years after Sam stepped away from the spotlight, having starred in The Mummy Diaries with Billie for seven years.

Fiercely loyal

Now the sisters are reuniting for a fresh format which will focus on their lives as entrepreneurs.

A source said: “ITVBe viewers absolutely love Billie and Sam — there’s a reason The Mummy Diaries ran for nine series, then Billie’s Family Diaries for six.

“Of all the original Towie stars, they’ve kept a fiercely loyal fanbase for nearly 15 years and everyone was sad when Sam then Billie decided to call time on their fly-on-the-wall shows.

“The new series, which will air later this year, will look at motherhood from a different angle and be less about the kids and more about their careers and juggling their businesses.

“It’s now a whole new chapter for the Faiers girls and they are back together, better than ever.”

Billie, who is a successful influencer, made the decision to end The Family Diaries to look after Nelly, Arthur and Margot with her husband Greg.

Sam, who is mum to Paul Jr, Rosie and Edward with husband Paul, left the show in 2021.

She’s gone on to become a global success with wellness business Revive Collagen, which made her £13million in three years.

Who needs The Apprentice when we can watch the Faiers sisters for business tips?

KINGSMAN actor Tobi Bakare will reprise his role as Sergeant JP Hooper for the new series of Death in Paradise, on BBC One on January 31 at 9pm.

Sex Education’s Patricia Allison, Love Rat’s Imogen King and Bridgerton’s David Mumeni also make guest appearances.

JAMIE TO DISH OUT LAUGHS

JAMIE OLIVER has plenty on his plate after landing two new telly shows.

But that doesn’t mean the celebrity chef will shirk kitchen work – that’s if his upcoming appearance on Michael McIntyre‘s Big Show is anything to go by.

Jamie – whose new shows include a Channel 4 doc about our failing education system – spoonfeeds his customers in a hilarious prank in which he charges for a one-night “personal” service.

Of course, it’s a stunt set up by comic Michael to trick fans on the BBC One show.

A server tells shocked customers: “You can pay extra to get Jamie involved. He will tuck your napkin in, which is only £50, and the spoonfeed.”

Michael McIntyre’s Big Show returns Saturday at 6.50pm on BBC One.

BARBIE actor Jamie Demetriou has joined the cast of new BBC comedy Funboys.

By the producer of award-winning show This Country, it sees friends Callum, Jordan and Lorcan, played by Ryan Dylan, Rian Lennon and Lee R James, navigate life in Northern Ireland.

STEPHEN TAKES ON BULLIES

STEPHEN MERCHANT is one of the biggest comedy stars so it stands to reason he is very well connected.

Stephen Merchant has made the bold claim that most celebrities are ‘f***ed up’[/caption]

But The Outlaws star has made the bold claim that most celebrities are “f***ed up.”

He explains: “It doesn’t matter how successful they are or how famous they are, or the veneer of confidence they project, as soon as you get beneath the surface, most people are just guessing.

“Some of them are more ravaged with insecurity, neurosis, depression, or trauma, than you are.”

Speaking to the How To Fail podcast, Stephen said there are particular stars who bully others just to hide their “insecurities”.

He added: “Some are trying to work on themselves and they are often the more settled and balanced people, and there’s others who are just covering their insecurities with bravado, bullying or whatever and it gives you a great release because you’re like, ‘Oh god, I’m OK. I’m pretty even-keeled.”

You won’t find many like Stephen in showbiz land.

CUSTODY STARTING ON A HIGH

FLY-on-the-wall series 24 Hours In Police Custody has inspired a string of TV crime dramas and celebrated its tenth birthday last year.

There is no sign Channel 4 programme 24 Hours In Police Custody is going to mellow[/caption]

And there is no sign the Channel 4 programme is going to mellow judging by what the producers have in store next week.

In the episode The Unusual Suspects, which airs on Monday at 9pm, police are investigating drug smuggling across Bedfordshire and end up focusing on a well-to-do middle-aged lady who appears a more “arts and crafts” type than drugs whizz.

Of course, the boys in blue have to work their magic on her down the station where we get a front row seat.

Aldi launches £3 item that will keep you warm this winter without cranking up the heating

ALDI has launched a bargain winter buy for just £3 that will keep you warm without having to crank up the heating.

The budget retailer is stocking fleece-lined Thermo Tights for just £2.99.

With energy bills having risen at the beginning of January you might be looking for cheap ways to keep warm.

Aldi said: “As the seasons change, we have you covered with these comfortable essential leggings.”

The product is available in-stores from today and comes in sizes 8-18.

Aldi does not offer home deliveries, but you can check with your nearest store to see if the products are in stock before making the trip.

Shoppers can find their nearest store using the Aldi store finder tool.

Those looking to get their hands on a pair will have to hurry.

The Tights are a special buy item and so won’t be around for long.

Aldi is selling the bargain Thermo Tights for £2.99, which appears to be the cheapest option on the market.

It’s always important to shop around to make sure you’re scoring the best deals and getting the most value for money.

High street retailer H&M sell Thermal tights for £12.99 but the tights are only available in-store.

Online shoppers can purchase thermal tights off Amazon for £9.99, but should be aware of the £4.49 delivery fee.

Alternatively Marks and Spencer’s stock Thermal Fleece-Lined Tights for £8.

The M&S tights are available in stores but shoppers purchasing them online will have to pay a £3.99 delivery fee.

The fleece-lined tights are not all Aldi has on offer this week.

Most recently, the budget retailer launched a £15 Heated Mattress Pad that comes with three temperature settings so shoppers can adjust the heating to their preference.

Aldi is also stocking fleece-lined leggings for just £5.99.

Shoppers can choose from Dark Grey Melange, or Black leggings with a flat elastic inside waistband

Earlier this month, Aldi brought back the long hot water bottle, designed to stretch the length of your body to keep you warm for just £6.99.

How to save on your energy bills

SWITCHING energy providers can sound like a hassle - but fortunately it's pretty straight forward to change supplier - and save lots of cash.

Shop around – If you’re on an SVT deal you are likely throwing away up to £250 a year. Use a comparion site such as MoneySuperMarket.com, uSwitch or EnergyHelpline.com to see what deals are available to you.

The cheapest deals are usually found online and are fixed deals – meaning you’ll pay a fixed amount usually for 12 months.

Switch – When you’ve found one, all you have to do is contact the new supplier.

It helps to have the following information – which you can find on your bill –  to hand to give the new supplier.

  • Your postcode
  • Name of your existing supplier
  • Name of your existing deal and how much you payAn up-to-date meter reading

It will then notify your current supplier and begin the switch.

It should take no longer than three weeks to complete the switch and your supply won’t be interrupted in that time.

The retailer also offers a smaller traditional water bottle for £4.99 that even comes with a fleece-lined eye mask to help you sleep peacefully.

Aldi is also stocking fleece-lined slipper socks for just £3.99.

Plus, for those hoping to tackle a draught in their homes without breaking the bank, Aldi is currently offering a Draught Excluder from Kirkton House for just £5.99.

Available in four designs, the product is designed to be placed inside your door to prevent cold air from blowing in.

These items are all Aldi specialbuys so are only available whilst stock lasts and won’t be around for long.

Star of Netflix’s Drive to Survive in major career change as he quits F1 with emotional post saying ‘racing is my life’

DRIVE TO SURVIVE star Will Buxton has announced a major career change for the 2025 motorsport season.

Buxton is one of the most recognisable stars outside of the racers and team principals who feature on the hit Netflix show Drive To Survive, which documents behind-the-scenes of the Formula One season.

But he has announced he is joining Fox for their coverage of a rival motorsport[/caption]

However, the veteran broadcaster has announced a major career change that will see him leave his main role at F1TV.

Taking to Instagram, he announced following a seven-year career with F1TV he would be moving to Fox to headline its coverage of Indycar.

In an emotional statement, he said: “I have always loved Indycar, always been enthralled by the excitement of its racing and stunned by the skills of its incredible drivers.

“And while I always hoped that one day I might, I never imagined that I ever actually would have the opportunity to join the series full time.

“That I will get to do so in the role and with the responsibility that I do in 2025 is a tremendous honour. And while I am unbelievably excited, I am only too aware of the enormity of the task I am undertaking, and the trust placed in me…

“Racing is my life. My deepest passion. Its drivers are my heroes. I’ve been incredibly fortunate to have had a job for the past two decades that revolves around telling their stories…

“I want to take the opportunity to thank everyone at F1TV for seven incredibly happy years.

“I’m so proud of all we created and all we built and I’m excited to watch 2025 shake out, admittedly, for now at least, from my couch.”

Buxton – a New York Times best-selling author – will present Fox’s inaugural season coverage of NTT Indycar alongside James Hinchcliffe and Townsend Bell.

He had featured on NBC as a pit-lane reporter for Indycar from 2013-17 before Liberty Media’s acquisition of F1 saw him move in-house to F1TV in 2018.

The first race of the 17-event season will commence with the Firestone Grand Prix of St. Petersburg, FL, USA on March 2.

Indycar as a racing series is actually quite similar to F1 in that the cars are open-top and race around tracks with a variety of shapes.

However, unlike F1 which has a global fanbase, Indycar is most popular in North America.

In 2023 it averaged 1.4 million viewers across a 14-race season but had a stuttering viewer count in 2024 for the final year of a 16-year partnership with NBC.

It is not yet clear whether this move will impact Buxton’s involvement in the 2025 series of the Netflix documentary.

Will Buxton leaves F1TV after seven years

Read Will Buxton's full statement below:

A decade ago I reported on my first Indycar races, including my first visit to IMS. I fell in love with the place immediately. The history, the passion, the emotion that whips through the air as the cars rocket past you, sucking the air from your lungs, breathing tradition and understanding into your soul. On my final day, I was presented with a Culver block, one of the bricks that once lined the entire speedway. It was at the time, and remains today, the most humbling gift.

I have always loved Indycar, always been enthralled by the excitement of its racing and stunned by the skills of its incredible drivers. And while I always hoped that one day I might, I never imagined that I ever actually would have the opportunity to join the series full time. That I will get to do so in the role and with the responsibility that I do in 2025 is a tremendous honour. And while I am unbelievably excited, I am only too aware of the enormity of the task I am undertaking, and the trust placed in me.

Racing is my life. My deepest passion. Its drivers are my heroes. I’ve been incredibly fortunate to have had a job for the past two decades that revolves around telling their stories. And beyond that, a job that I’ve always believed is about taking the fans on a journey, whether through the page or through the screen, to the heart of the racing world. To make them a part of the sport they love. That has been and will always be why I do what I do.

I want to take the opportunity to thank everyone at F1TV for seven incredibly happy years. I’m so proud of all we created and all we built and I’m excited to watch 2025 shake out, admittedly, for now at least, from my couch.

My year and my racing season will begin in St Pete.

I’m so grateful to Fox for this once in a lifetime opportunity, so thankful to everyone at the NTT Indycar Series for the warm welcome they’ve already extended, and so invigorated for the years ahead. Indycar stands at the gates of one of the most exciting and important periods in its history.

Alongside Hinch, Townsend and the world class team behind the scenes at Fox, I can’t wait to get started and to present to you all, the fastest racing on earth.

Paige posted a video of Paul singing and dancing in the aisles of the coach as everyone cheered him on.

She wrote alongside it: “Such sad news about Paul, a kind soul with a big heart. Rest easy.”

Paul was partnered on the show with Team GB athlete Ashley McKenzie back in 2022.

He later said the series was so “brutal” that he needed therapy after being booted off.

Paul said that being in Portugal for the trip after two years of the pandemic was “like a drug”.

He said of getting booted off the show: “I had to get a bit of counselling. It taps into a lot of stuff – like rejection. It’s brutal.”

Ashley also paid tribute today and shared a series of pictures from their trip.

He wrote: “Rest in peace. We had the best two weeks on celebrity Coach Trip. Love My Boy.”

Paul’s shock death was announced by his management today on Instagram.

He was found dead at home at the age of 46.

A heartfelt message read: “It is with heavy hearts that we share the tragic news of the passing of Paul Danan at just 46 years old.

“Known for his television presence, exceptional talent, and unwavering kindness, Paul was a beacon of light to so many.

“His untimely departure will leave irreplaceable voids in the lives of all who knew him.

“During this difficult time, we kindly request respect and privacy for Paul’s family, friends, and colleagues.

“No further comments will be made at this time.”

The actor played bad boy Sol Patrick from 1997 to 2001 on Hollyoaks and was later known for his reality TV appearances, including on Celebrity Big Brother and Celebrity Love Island.

Behind the headlines, Paul was a sweet, vulnerable, big-hearted guy

BY Oliver Grady, Assistant Showbiz Editor

Paul Danan may have grabbed his share of column inches over his all too short 46 years, from his colourful love life to his well-documented struggles with addiction, but behind the headlines, there was a very sweet, vulnerable, big-hearted guy.

I’ve met and spoken with Paul many times over the years and have always had a soft spot for him. He was funny, articulate, smart and great company.

Yes, he had his demons, but he was very open about them and was always striving to be a better version of himself.

He was extremely proud of his theatre company, The Morning After, which he set up to help fellow addicts work through their trauma through drama and acting.

While he seemed lost at times, and on several occasions opened up to me about his struggle to be taken seriously in the industry after his private life exploits overshadowed his professional accomplishments, he clearly found a purpose in supporting others and helping them stay on the path of recovery.

There was only one thing Paul was prouder of than his recovery and his theatre company, and that was his son DeNiro.

Paul lit up when he spoke about his boy, and looked forward to spending the weekends with him as he co-parented with the lad’s mum.

His whatsapp photo was him beaming with DeNiro, and he loved to talk about his offspring’s accomplishments and his hopes for his future.

It breaks my heart that DeNiro now has to go through the rest of his life without his dad, and Paul will never see him grow up.

I last heard from Paul at Christmas, when he left me a voicenote saying he had some exciting things planned for 2025.

I told him we’d catch up in the New Year, but sadly we never got the chance to.

I’ll miss you Paul. You were one of life’s good ones.

Jessica Alba confirms SPLIT from husband Cash Warren saying ‘it’s a new chapter as individuals’

Jessica shared a statement with her fans today[/caption]

She wrote: “I’ve been on a journey of self realization and transformation for years-both as an

individual and in partnership with Cash.

“I’m proud of how we’ve grown as a couple and in our marriage over the last 20 years and it’s now time for us to embark on a new chapter of growth and evolution as individuals.

“We are moving forward with love and kindness and respect for each other and will forever be family. Our children remain our highest priority and we request privacy at this time.”

This news comes after both parties were seen out and about without their wedding rings on.

Jessica was seen last weekend at a pre-Golden Globes party at Chateau Marmont in West Hollywood, solo and ringless.

Last month, Jessica was seen sans ring again in Rome.

‘MESSY AND HARD’

Less than a year ago in June 2024, Jessica spoke about navigating rocky patches within the couple’s marriage and how they remained solid and stable for so long.

She told Entertainment Tonight at the time: “I think with chosen family, you ebb and flow and I think the more you ebb and flow, the more you realize that the hard times aren’t gonna be as, it’s not gonna be permanent.

“You can find your way back to each other.”

“It’s messy and it’s hard and it’s, you know, humbling and all of that, but if you can figure out how to just find your way back to each other, it ends up being worth it,” she said.

Jessica also spoke of how she couldn’t imagine life without her husband by her side.

“He’s really great and I think for me, I always was like, ‘I like myself better when he’s in my life.’

“When it comes down to it, I wouldn’t want to be with anybody else.”

The couple met back in 2004 while filming Fantastic Four.

DOTING PARENTS

They got married just four years later, and welcomed three kids together.

Jessica and Cash share Honor Marie, born in June 2008; Haven Garner, born in August 2011; and Hayes, born in December 2017.

The actress publicly gushed about her kids back in 2021 on Mother’s Day.

“My heart walks around outside of my body,” she wrote on Instagram when she shared a photo of herself with her kids.

“The three of you have given me the gift of hopes, dreams, and possibilities I never knew existed and, most importantly, the courage to fearlessly go after it all.

“I love you my babies.”

Jessica Alba's split statement in full

Legendary director David Lynch dead at 78 months after admitting he couldn’t ‘walk across a room’ or leave house

LEGENDARY director David Lynch has died at 78 months after revealing his struggle with emphysema.

The visionary’s death was announced in a statement on Facebook, sparking an outpouring of tributes from devoted fans across social media.

Lynch was best known for directing iconic works like Mulholland Drive, Blue Velvet, and the cult classic show Twin Peaks.

“It is with deep regret that we, his family, announce the passing of the man and the artist, David Lynch,” Lynch’s family said in a statement.

We would appreciate some privacy at this time. There’s a big hole in the world now that he’s no longer with us.

“But, as he would say, ‘Keep your eye on the donut and not on the hole.’

The family added, “It’s a beautiful day with golden sunshine and blue skies all the way.”

In August, Lynch told Sight and Sound he was diagnosed with emphysema, a lung disease, and attributed the condition to his longtime smoking habit.

He said the habit, which he started at eight years old, left him needing an oxygen tank to walk across the room after he stopped in 2022.

He shared he couldn’t leave the house due to fears of getting sick.

Lynch’s official cause of death hasn’t been revealed.

Tributes to the writer-director have poured in on social media from fans and Hollywood stars alike.

“RIP to the Legend. Twin Peaks was like nothing else! He’ll be missed,” one fan wrote on X.

“Such a terrible loss man. One hell of a storyteller and artist,” another added.

“No one saw the world like David Lynch. The world lost a master of cinema today,” a third mourned.

Last May, Lynch posted a cryptic video teasing fans that “something is coming” in his first post in 18 months.

Months later, he released an orchestral album called Cellophane Memories, which he said was inspired by a walk through a forest late at night.
