GLORY AND FORTUNE (3.00 Newbury, nap)

He has a Grade 3 Betfair Hurdle on his CV over this course and distance with 13lb more lead in the saddle. The tip, trained by Tom Lacey, may be at the veteran stage now but he looked in fine fettle when finishing a close-up third in good company at Kempton last time. He saw out the two-mile trip strongly there and the pair who finished ahead of him have run well since to frank the form. The forecast decent ground is right up his street too and rider Cameron Iles takes off a valuable 7lb which makes his mark even more attractive. He’s had a nice break since that last run at Christmas with this race in mind.

ALL THE GLORY (3.50 Musselburgh, nb)

Has done nothing but improve this season and has a win and place from her two visits to this Scottish track. She was an excellent third in the Scottish County Hurdle last time when getting within three lengths of the leader. That was a much stronger contest than this and she gets on well with today’s rider Benjamin Macey who takes off a handy 7lb. This eight-year-old likes to be held up for a late run and hopefully he can pull off those tactics again. She looks on a different level to these rivals.

HITITI (3.30 Newbury, treble)

He enjoyed switching back to hurdles when a close-up second at Exeter last month. He finished well a place ahead of Jeriko Du Reponet who went on to finish second in the Pertemps Final at Cheltenham last week. This race is much softer than that and Robert Walford’s runner can have a big say.

QUIAN (2.50 Musselburgh, Lucky 15)

He has won his past two at Catterick without too much trouble and a 5lb rise in the weights looks more than fair. This trip is ideal and a repeat would see him bring up the hat-trick.
