COPS have arrested a man after two women were sexually assaulted at a bus stop outside a school in north London.
The offence occurred on Highbury Grove, Highbury, on Sunday (February 2) between 5.55pm and 6.15pm.
The police were called to the scene after a man was allegedly seen approaching the victims at a bus stop before attacking them.
The women managed to escape before the police arrived.
They are described as white, and in their early to mid-20s. One woman had blonde hair while the other was brunette.
Detective Sergeant Thomas Barnes, leading the investigation in Islington, said: “While we understand the impact of incidents like this – and how difficult it can be to talk about – our officers are on hand to provide specialist support so we urge these two women to come forward with any information.”
The suspect is thought to be in his 50s and was wearing a beige long sleeved jacket with a dark scarf.
He was arrested at the scene and released with no further action, pending further enquiries.
