MEGHAN Markle was branded Mystic Meg for turning Prince Harry into a “tree-hugging leftie”, an ex-worker has claimed.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex moved into Nottingham Cottage in 2017, but Meghan is said to have “felt constrained by protocol”.

Due to her American background, she reportedly struggled to adjust to having teams of live-in servants.
An ex-staffer told The Times: “Through absolutely no fault of her own, Meghan wasn’t always great with her staff — she just wasn’t used to it as Harry was.

“It’s true that her nickname for a while was the Duchess of Difficult, but she had other, friendlier nicknames, including Mystic Meg, which came about because she was so new agey, so woke, about so many things.”
Another former staffer described how Harry became increasingly more concerned “about social issues and the rights of minorities”.
This only happened after Meghan’s arrival and it was seen as “rejecting the values and traditions of his family”.
The unnamed source said: “Some of the youngest staff at Kensington Palace would’ve applauded this, no doubt, but the older staff thought he’d become a tree-hugging leftie.”
Other staff also alleged that Meghan flirted with Prince William by hugging and kissing him every time they saw each other.
She is said to have had a “hug-everyone” approach after she joined the Royal Family – which caused some tension.
Members of the Firm are raised to be stoic and follow strict protocol, but the former Hollywood actress came from a world apart.
Sources told The Times Princess Kate, William and King Charles would flinch whenever Meghan would move in to embrace them.
This is said to have hurt the duchess, with her tactile manner making the Prince of Wales particularly uncomfortable.
“Meghan hugged him virtually every time they bumped into each other,” the newspaper reports.
“The hugging and cheek-kissing fuelled gossip among the staff that Meghan was flirting with William, which she was obviously not, but the tense atmosphere caused by all the touchy-feeliness (and the resultant gossip) deepened the rift between the brothers.
“In fact, William’s rather awkward, even inhibited personality — an inheritance from his father — was baffling for the more spontaneous Meghan.”
A member of staff recalled to The Times that Meghan asked why William and Charles “sound so serious all the time”, and joked Harry had different parents as he “isn’t pompous at all”.
