BEAU QUALI (11.55 Newcastle, nap)
Can strike at Gosforth Park for the ever in-form Skeltons. This five-year-old has shown lots of promise over hurdles and was just two lengths off the pace in decent company at Kempton last time out. That’s much the best form on show and he can get off the mark here.
HAWK STONE (2.10 Newcastle, nb)
He had been working up to a win before striking at Uttoxeter last time out. He went from the front under today’s 3lb claiming rider and the result was never in doubt. A bit of cut in the ground is ideal and it will be disappointing if he can’t improve past his rise in the handicap.
KATATE DORI (3.45 Wincanton, treble)
Looked a horse to follow when winning by 12 lengths on his chase debut at Exeter on New Year’s Day. Sam Thomas’s seven-year-old more than matched that form when scooting in at Chepstow 11 days ago and there’s every chance of a hat-trick.
RATTLING ROAD (1.35 Newcastle, Lucky 15)
He jumped like a natural on just his second run over fences when winning by four lengths at Hexham last time. A 6lb rise in the weights is fair and Lucinda Russell’s lightly-raced chaser has more to come.
